I love this place! This will def. be a stable now in all my Chinatown visits. It reminds me so much of home...my mom used to make all these desserts when I was little!
Gong He Guan is known for their traditional Chinese herbal jelly, KLG. It comes in both original and menthol. The jelly is a bit bitter, but once you add some honey, it's delicious! Okay, to be frank, this is the Chinese Auntie in me writing this review. I love anything traditional/herbal, especially when it markets itself as a health/life benefit. The benefits of KLG are listed on the wall, but I mostly eat it when I'm too heaty or when I feel a cold coming along. Does it work? YES! Okay, maybe all psychological, but hey, if some can believe that dinosaurs and humans roamed the Earth simultaneously or that the Garden of Eden was in Missouri when Adam and Eve were kicked out, than I can believe in yin yang balance.
KLG can also be paired with chopped fruit, like mango, peach, etc. I also suggest trying Gong He Guan's steamed milk and the almond paste--Both traditional Cantonese dishes! Delicious!
