Dallas, Texas’s Best New Cocktail Bars | Eater Dallas

"This Deep Ellum surf club has upped its game this summer, with a new menu from Dallas chef Nick Badovinus and cocktail offerings to match. Go here for frozen margaritas with a swirl of blackberry, blood orange, or hibiscus; margaritas on tap in classic, spicy (jalapeño and spicy bitters), or pina, which uses caramelized pineapple; and killer spins on classic cocktails like a cucumber mojito, prickly pear paloma, or blackberry mule. The bar also serves up a longer list than most places of low- and no-proof drinks, plus it carries THC-infused seltzer waters for the Cali sober crowd (hilariously, provided by the Dallas-based company Cali Sober). The restaurant has been redesigned, featuring a new patio with a shade cover, where guests can enjoy drinks while watching the surf pool, pickleball courts, or simply taking in the crowd." - Courtney E. Goodsurf Beach Club Recruits Well-Known Dallas Chef to Reboot Menu | Eater Dallas

"Opened in June 2024 in a former beach-volleyball space off Canton Street in Deep Ellum, this surf-themed venue pairs a surf pool and pickleball courts with a revamped bar-and-restaurant program designed to broaden capacity. Owners Zach Shor, Andrew Limbocker, Joe Pomerenke, and Turner Eakins brought in chef Nick Badovinus and his Flavor Hook group to reorganize the kitchen, redesign the dining room, and give the operation a new name, elevating the menu with Baja/SoCal–leaning dishes such as the New Wave Asada Fries (waffle-cut sweet potato fries topped with teriyaki-marinated skirt steak, pico de gallo, avocado, cotija, and lime ranch), crispy rock cod tacos sourced from Kanaloa Seafood Market, a classic QP Cheeseburger on a Martin’s potato roll, and Ahi Poke Wonchos (fried wonton chips with ahi in dynamite sauce, jalapeño, radish, and sesame). The drink program features margaritas on tap, house cocktails like a cucumber mojito and hibiscus ranch water, low- and no-proof options, a selection of wines, and THC-infused sparkling waters from local Cali Sober while regulatory questions remain. With ample front-lot parking and views of the Downtown skyline and a nearby mural, the spot aims to deliver a relaxed “quality hang” that complements its active, beach-club amenities." - Courtney E. What Happens at Texas Restaurants and Bars if the State Bans THC? | Eater Austin

"A Dallas beachfront‑themed bar and activity space that serves THC‑infused canned drinks from a local distributor alongside food and alcohol. It functions as an events hub—hosting outdoor activities like surfing and pickleball and wellness‑focused weekends such as the "Anti‑Snooze Club" (coffee, cold plunges, yoga, surfing)—with non‑alcoholic hemp beverages and other THC products often used as sponsors and popular alternatives for guests who prefer not to drink. The co‑owner says a proposed statewide ban on THC sales would have significant economic and operational impacts, forcing menu changes, jeopardizing sponsorships, and prompting a reevaluation of programming tied to hemp‑based partners." - Courtney E. The Spots Of The Summer, Dallas Edition - Dallas - The Infatuation

"Dallas doesn’t need a coastline to be a surf destination. It just needs Goodsurf Beach Club. Here you can ride real waves in a high-tech pool without the fear of drowning or sharks (take that, Hawaii). Refuel with citrusy shrimp ceviche and teriyaki chicken tacos, and replenish those lost fluids with hibiscus ranch waters." - kevin gray

Goodsurf Beach Club was one of the stops on our Dallas Party Bike Tour. Ordered the guacamole & I'm normally not a guacamole fan, but it was so fresh & well prepared. Very nice location, chill atmosphere. Would definitely visit again!

My teen and his friend had the best time surfing! The staff was so amazing, helping them understand how to do it and building their confidence. After a few rounds, they were doing great. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

Google
I cannot express enough how much of a blast I’ve experienced while celebrating my birthday event here at GoodSurf. Starting the hospitality of the staff to the warm greeting from the owner. The food here is very fresh and delicious! This is definitely one of the places for the overall experience and the atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back to this place again. This is a hidden gem in Dallas if you’re seeking some fun for the entire family.

Good Surf was great! Such a great time, food was great and the staff is amazing. Everyone in our group had the most amazing time! Highly recommend taking your family or a large party or outing.

My two experiences were just okay. I really loved the old business that was always packed and so fun so we had high expectations. Expect to smell chlorine if you’re bar hoping. The setup is cute but very small for a surf club. Food was okay but wouldn’t come back for it and drinks were no different. The restaurant vibe/bar is commercial feeling and lacked atmosphere. They completely lost me when I went to the bathroom midway through my meal and a personal item was stolen from our table when my husband grabbed us another drink from bar which was only about four tables away. A co-worker stopped at our table and messed with a few things and purse was moved as if to tidy but didn’t? and my husband asked what they needed and they just smiled nodded and walked to back of house. When I came back to our table I asked my husband where my fan was I had brought for the heat that had been laying on our table when not using next to my purse. This was A large wooden accordion style carved hand fan about a foot and a half long (doesn’t just walk away) from my great grandmother. So old and beautiful a cherished treasure and used for so many years of my life in all my travels. Considering we were the only couple dining inside that night left and the only two other couples sitting outside with their kids where no where near us and almost closing time. We asked and spoke to management and they said they didn’t know what could have happened and just left us with that. Sad anniversary

The surf staff was so great with our 11 & 15 year old kids. They had the time of their lives. The food and drink options were great, and server staff extremely nice and attentive. Lots of good seating to watch the surfing. Didn’t take advantage of the pickleball but will next time!

Had the best experience at Surf Camp! Cliff and his entire staff were wonderful! Organized, encouraging and super patient with my son and all campers. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Such a fun space ! My friends and I played in a pickleball tournament and we really enjoyed the space. Watching people surf was so fun too- there's a big surf area and tons of lounging, and 3 pickleball courts. Nice little indoor bar and food shack. Overall great little space ! Would definitely come back and hang out !

Yelp
Finally got to check this place out during a layover I had flying back to LA from Mexico City.. and boy am I glad I did. If I lived in Dallas, I'd be here all the time.. The staff members are extremely friendly and personable. The surf instructors Kelly , Mandy and Luke made me feel extremely safe and comfortable, especially after disclosing my disability. The place is very well maintained and the vibes are high. Such a cool place/concept! If you're in the Dallas area I highly recommend checking this place out especially if you are nearby getting barbecue at Pecan Lodge or Blacks bbq as I was . This spot is within walking distance from highly lauded BbQ spots. Check them out !

Yelp
Every time I come to Goodsurf I have a great time! I've only been for events but it's great! The food was amazing! The asada fries was my favorite.!! 10/10. Literally everything here was so good and the service is always so great.

Yelp
I'm a monthly member of Goodsurf. They've been operating less than a year, and they stayed open during one of the cold snaps -- hats off to them! The staff is great, and the food is surprisingly good. Plus, we sober people have THREE nonalcoholic beers to choose from.

Yelp
This place is a vibe. It's such a clean and cool place to hang. I want to try the surfing soon because it looks so fun. I went a couple of times to play pickleball (they have four courts) and it's so nice. I ordered the salmon teriyaki bowl and it was pretty good. Service was super quick, it only took about 10 minutes to get my food. This is going to be my regular hangout spot in the evenings. I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Loved this place on a fall Saturday. The DJ set the vibe which was immaculate. Having the football game on the big screen was really cool and all of the food that our group got looked amazing. Did a 30 minute surf sesh and had a blast. The coaches are patient and super helpful. It was fun to watch them absolutely shred while nobody was signed up to go. Having a big parking lot is very convenient and honestly plays a big factor in going places in Dallas so kudos to them for thinking about that. Will be back and will bring more friends next time.

Yelp
Now look here--I'm no spring chicken, but Brittany and Cliff at Goodsurf had me grinnin' like it was prom night in '62! Felt the wind, caught a wave, and bam!--I was alive again! Those two? Magic. Pure puddin pop magic.

Yelp
Just had the most epic 11 year old birthday ever yesterday. We booked the 1 hour wave session, and every single girl was able to surf independently (if even for a couple of seconds), which was really fun to watch. The server we had was OVER the top, as were the surf instructors. One thing to note - our party was apparently during a recurring "DJ Sunday" situation, but thankfully it didn't turn into the DJ pool Sundays of my old Dallas days. There were only a handful of people there for that - and they were fully clothed. A lot of parents of our party guests came to watch their kids and buy drinks and food, and they LOVED it as well. We are all coming back without the kids to do it over as adults, and of course the kids are begging to come back next weekend too. Thank you!

Yelp
Super nice pickleball place within a restaurant. Super clean and love the open layout of it. Drinks were great and the appetizers and tacos were good as well. I got the Dad Bod Margarita and it was super refreshing! Family friendly environment with friendly staff. Look forward to coming back!

Aimee F.

Yelp
Love the service & surf. Environment was so sick & welcoming :) brought my 1 year old niece and it was great !

Trevor W.

Yelp
I really want to like this place since with the surfing aspect, but there are a lot of inconsistencies when I've gone. I am glad they are trying new events and activities to go along with this place, but some aren't listed online or any calendar or events. When you live far and they advertise things like just show up since we hold spots back in the line-up just to be told sorry we have an event, it makes it difficult to want to return after driving down for 50 minutes. Goodsurf, please update your website to show what events/member hours are going on to plan a visit accordingly.

Yelp
Fun hidden gem in the middle of deep ellum! I did a good review and the food blew me away! Watermelon basil salad was phenomenal! The hemp infused drinks were awesome and the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely check them out!

Yelp
They've got great pickleball courts and good food and drinks. We had a blast just watching the surfers while we ate.

Yelp
Goodsurf is incredible in every way. The service, the food, the surf...all top notch. It's the most fun you can have! I took 8 13 year old boys and they couldn't get enough. They all keep texting me asking for videos and wanting to go back. Every single one of them wants to have their birthday there. So thankful to Zach and his awesome staff! Wow! the guys that work with the kids on surfing, are so enthusiastic and make it SO much fun for the kids! They were the best!!

Yelp
Such a fun spot to hangout! Just did a morning yoga sesh on their pickleball courts with Chad! After we got to enjoy the grounds & take part in some ice baths. The wave pool is awesome and can't wait to come back with my bathing suit! they also have a coffee shop on property & a dj!

Sophie S.

Yelp
Such a cool concept in the heart of Dallas. Didn't surf this time but my friends and I loved lounging in the sun. There also a bunch of small games: connect 4, cup pong, and pickleball!! Food stand on site is pretty good and the people are SO friendly. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Great for snacks, drinks and entertainment! Stopped in this morning for a coffee, a Paloma, and a THC seltzer mixed dejnand sat in front of the CityWave. We got the queso dip and hummus and veggies. Both were tasty. Staff was attentive, and watching people try their balance while surfing was fantastic too! It was also really cool to see signs that said "only booze, no boos!" I can see how that would help someone who was nervous feel a bit more confident before trying to surf.

Yelp
Great overall experience, from servers to bartender, surf staff and management. Add to that great food with a fresh island twist and a huge, clean facility with so many options to be entertained! It was our first visit so we didn't come prepared to surf but still enjoyed watching the people who were trying. You could tell the instructors knew what they were doing and were helpful and patient with all levels of surfers. The food and cocktails were fresh, unique and delicious. We especially liked the tacos and watermelon feta salad. And THC cocktails-the coffee one is amazing! Definitely worth checking out and would be a regular spot for us if we were closer. We still plan to return the often.

Anna K.

Yelp
Incredible place!! So much fun to play pickleball, surf, eat/ drink. The staff was so kind Will definitely be going back- can't recommend it enough! Hoping they start doing happy hours or deals on surfing/ pickleball at off times

Whit H.

Yelp
Great place good people and good food. They did it right. Great to be able to surf in the middle of Dallas

Jordan A.

Yelp
I just wanted to say that we pulled over and happened to catch the owner Zach in the parking lot and thought he was the DJ. He welcomed us with open arms gave us the information we needed to have a great time! Outstanding service from Elle she was the best! We sat outside and she was the first waitress to come up to us and give us some help gave great recommendations on food, drinks, and surf information! The hosts were amazing in providing information and nothing but smiles! Surf instruction by cliff was amazing! Thank you to everyone who made our visit the most amazing time!

Emily M.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING! It was so viby and cool to watch the surfing! I would 100% recommend this place for happy hour or a fun dinner spot.

Thomas N.

Yelp
I love that Good surf is introducing a new, interesting concept to Dallas. The vibes of this spot are great, and their food & drink prices were reasonable. The staff was attentive and there was a good amount of parking. The surf is obviously the star of the show here, which was super cool to see but the pic kekball courts also looked nice, too. This place has a decent amount of tables indoor but they appeared to have even more outdoors, though not a whole lot of fans/misters/umbrellas in sight.

Aimee I.

Yelp
Awesome spot, come check it out and give this great place some solid business. Live music tonight, a surf machine, Olympics on the large screen TV. Draft beer, misters. What's not to love? Come on down.
