Where to Find Delicious Fish and Chips Around D.C.

"Boisterous British chef Gordon Ramsay pulled up to the Wharf in late 2022 with a takeout-friendly menu centered around its namesake dish and other takes on British pub grub. A three-piece combo of sustainable cod coated with custard powder batter, chips, and two sauces runs around $19.99. Shrimp and chicken get the crispy treatment, too. Chips also shine solo, loaded up with meats and sauces." - Tierney Plumb

The 7 Best Seafood Restaurants In DC

"You might think there are a lot of good seafood options at the Wharf, but gone are the days of Captain White’s and Phillips. And while none of the seafood here can touch what was happening in the olden days, we’ll swing by Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips for a relatively cheap, grab-and-go box of fried shrimp and chips. It’s a great place to wrangle hungry kids who are fed up with taking family pictures in front of the water. Grab a seat at one of the tables or take your Union Jack-covered boxes of fried seafood to the outdoor courtyard right across the street to reminisce about better fried seafood days at the Wharf." - tristiana hinton

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips - Review - Wharf - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips is a fast-casual Wharf restaurant where you can find a decent cheap meal in one of the most expensive parts of town. The seafood spot serves basic combos that run about $20 and are some variety of fish, shrimp, chicken, and lobster with a side of fries. While the proteins can be hit (shrimp) or miss (lobster), they’re always deep fried and hot, which means they’re perfectly fine with a slathering of ketchup, cocktail sauce, or sriracha aioli. It’s a great place to wrangle hungry kids who are fed up with taking family pictures in front of the water. Grab a seat at one of the tables or take your Union-Jack-covered boxes of fried seafood to the outdoor courtyard right across the street to reminisce about better fried seafood days at the Wharf. Food Rundown Shrimp These are your best bet because the shrimp always tastes fresh and flavorful. They’re perfectly fried, with a thick crunchy coating while retaining plenty of hot juiciness (so be careful when you bite in). Lobster Lobster is hard to get right under the best of conditions, and deep frying halved pieces with the shell on isn’t the best of conditions. Skip this. photo credit: Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips Fish These fish stick-style pieces could just as easily be from the Gorton’s fisherman. But if you’re hungry and looking for a meal under $20, they’re straightforward, flaky, and get the job done. photo credit: Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips Fries You can grab these plain or get them dressed up with things like jalapeño, chorizo, and chives. While the dirty fries are fun in theory, the extra ingredients don’t add much flavor. Save your $3 and just get them plain." - Tristiaña Hinton

Google
The Arnold Palmer was really good. I ordered the Gordon Ramsey combo. The shrimp and chicken were great, the cod was meh. I upgraded to truffle fries, pretty good but not a must. The dips were pretty good. Good place for adults, I saw a lot of parents throw away a lot of food that children did not eat. There was a long line to place orders at the kiosk. The kiosk move really slow and you have to touch the screen multiple times to make one selection. Staff were not taking orders, kiosk only.

Google
5 stars in all criteria, of course you can be nit picky about it and find flaws in everything, yet I believe that you should be grading places based on what they are and the purpose they serve. This establishment is meant to provide a quick bite with limited menu choices at a reasonable price while providing certain degree of luxury due to its renown name. This place does this and does this perfectly! We loved every moment of our experience here! Highly recommend!

Google
My 12-year-old daughter is a huge fan of Gordon Ramsay and all his cooking shows, so she really wanted to try his famous fish and chips. Unfortunately, the place was a dirty dive with filthy restrooms. In my opinion, the price is a bit high considering the lack of service and the quality of the food. It was greasy and quite repetitive. However, the kids were thrilled.

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips The Wharf DC, 665 Wharf Street, S.W., Suite 730, Washington D.C., District of Columbia, 20024, USA Date of visit: Sunday, May 11, 2025 (Mother's Day) Time: 5:30 PM Overall impressions: I had heard several opinions about Gordon's Fish and Chips, and the truth is that yesterday was a very busy day for restaurants around the DMV area. I've visited DC many times, but this was my first time at the Wharf. I recommend it; it's a very interesting place, full of variety, and above all, very picturesque. Being Mother's Day, of course, everything was packed, and we had to wait. *** This review is based on my personal opinion and experience as a consumer and chef *** ** You have to order at the counter in one of the huge food kiosks. You have to wait for your drinks and for your food to be called. ** Truffle Fries with Cheese 10/10 ** Gordon's Combo 10/10 1 piece of Crispy Cod, 1 piece of Crispy Chicken, and 3 pieces of Crispy Shrimp. Served with Natural Sea Salt Chips and a choice of two sauces. ** Fish Combo 10/10 3 pieces of Crispy Cod, Natural Sea Salt Chips, and a choice of two sauces. ** Fish & Shrimp Combo 10/10 2 pieces of Crispy Cod, 3 pieces of Crispy Shrimp, Natural Sea Salt Chips, and a choice of two sauces. ** Limited Time Offer Lobster & Shrimp Combo 10/10 2 pieces of Crispy Lobster & Shrimp, Natural Sea Salt Chips, and Choice of Two Sauces. I lived in North London for a few months due to my job. The flavor was very similar to the ones I tried yesterday, and the truth is, they taste good.

Google
By far the best Fish and Chips I’ve had in North America! The cod was crispy, light and well paired with the original dirty chips. The tartar sauce was certainly made on-site with a freshness unparalleled to others offered by restaurants. Finally, the pumpkin spice shake (seasonal to October) was heavenly with the 'just right' proportion of flavours. These offerings made the experience memorable at a casual, British-style chip shop atmosphere. I’ll definitely return with friends in-tow.

Google
I don’t like fish and chips but fish and chips here is amazing. Hot, crispy, and the sauces are great too. If you want to try Gordon Ramsay, but don’t want to shell out a lot of money, cannot go wrong with this place. I actually liked here more than HK 👀

Google
Loved the fish. Light breading, not greasy at all. Fries could have been a little crispier but they were good. It's a short walk from waterfront metro stop.

Google
I got the “Gordon’s Combo” which contained shrimp, chicken, and cod. The meat was all very fresh and delicious. My favorite part was the sauces, the tartar and curry sauce were the highlight of the whole meal. Also, the service was quick and easy. It was fast food style.

Yelp
First things first, I will always support any Gordan Ramsey food chain. His food is always top notch. I am big on customer service and when I say, it was top notch...Keiannah was the best. She made sure my daughters and niece were completely satisfied before they took their seat. Then when she allowed me to taste the lemonade (which is remarkable by the way) and then told me I could get free refills on lemonade too??? I was speechless!! This was by far, an amazing experience. Thank you Keiannah and Gordan Ramsey!

Yelp
Honestly, I was a little nervous about trying out Gordon Ramsay's Fish & Chips with all its mixed reviews, but we had a delicious experience! Located at The Wharf, the menu offers chips, combos, shakes, and even beer & wine. We ordered: +the Gordon's Combo - this came with 1 piece of Crispy Cod, 1 piece of Crispy Chicken, and 3 pieces of Crispy Shrimp, served with a side of sea salt chips and a choice of 2 sauces +the Fish & Shrimp Combo - this came with 2 pieces of Crispy Cod and 3 pieces of Crispy Shrimp, with a side of sea salt chips and a choice of 2 sauces +and, a Crafted Lemonade The batter was amazing - the cod was so delicate, flakey, and super yummy, and great with the sauces; shrimp was just okay, and I wasn't a fan of the chicken. Sauce choices include: Gordon's Tartar, Curry & Mango, Sriracha Aioli, Southwest Ranch, Dijon Mayonnaise, and Cocktail. In terms of the sauces, I did like the Dijon Mayonnaise the best; the Southwest Ranch was not my favorite. And, that lemonade? Super refreshing and quite delicious! And, did you know that it's free refills?! Unbelievable! There's plenty of seating inside, and, I believe they have some tables outdoors? I couldn't really see, since we came in the evening. Staff were pretty kind and friendly! Definitely a great option if you're in the area! +Crafted Lemonade! +delicious Crispy Cod! +Dijon Mayonnaise +friendly service +metered, garage, and limited street parking in the area

Yelp
Food was fine, but nowhere near the quality I would expect from a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, more like decent barfood, and the fries/chips are more American style and not authentic British chippy. Also very overpriced for the portion sizes, not worth the money in my opinion.

Yelp
So, my first time at Gordon Ramsay's, I ordered fish and chips. It was decent, not the best or greatest fast food, but it was good for a quick bite. However, it was quite pricey, and the customer service was excellent. They were very helpful and recommended items to me. One thing that stood out was their milkshakes. The Biscoff milkshake was fantastic, and that's all I can say about them. The French fries were okay, but everything else was just average. I would only go there if I was really drunk, but it's not a place I would recommend going to regularly.

Yelp
The fish is really good, hot and fresh both times I had it. The fries were underwhelming both times, soggy, underdressed, and nowhere near as hot as the fish. The variety of sauces and option to pick two is great, and the three different "dirty" fry options are all appealing and generally taste good. My main complaints are (1) the price and (2) the inability to only get fried fish (or chicken or shrimp) without fries. First, $19 for some fried fish and fries (without the $4 up charge for dirty fries) is ridiculous. It's three pieces of medium sized fish fried, and you're basically eating in a fast food restaurant atmosphere. They call your number and you get your food at a counter (which is difficult to hear when you're outside), and drinks, plastic utensils, etc. are all self serve. My meal ended up being $27 and I didn't even get a drink other than a cup of tap water. Second, I don't really like fries and I don't really want to waste the calories or money on them but there's no option to just get fried fish. You HAVE to get fries. What??? Why???

Yelp
One of the best and my most fav fish and chips shops in US. Ive visited them in Vegas and in Virginia and the flavors are on point. Always get the fish and dirty chips and it tastes divine. I like how this is a simple pickup eat and leave kinda fish and chips place and not a fine dining Ramsay spot. Food is freshly made served for folks to devour. All in all a huge fan of Gordon's fish and chips.

Yelp
This place is consistently amazing. Food is cook to perfection. Service was great and both cashiers were great with all the customers. Lots of smiles and positive attitude. Very hard to find these days. We'll done guys! To top it off, my son and I decided to go for the Biscoff Milkshake and OMG!!! It is out of this world! EPIC!

Yelp
After trying Hell's Kitchen and Gordon's Street pizza, we wanted to try out his Fish and Chips. We were first greeted by a friendly staff and it looked like a small place at the wharf, with more seating outside. We got the Gordon's combo which included the fish, shrimp and chicken with fries. I also got the sweet iced tea, which was really sweet, but still yummy especially since it's free refills. The fish was pretty good and so was the chicken, but my fave was the shrimp. The fries were also really good and cooked well, but it's a lot of fried food. Overall it was pretty good, just on the somewhat pricy side. Still something to try if you're visiting and are at the wharf.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this experience! First it is in a beautiful location (sans parking fees) with views of the dock in DC. I have been here twice and the people who work there a great. They make you feel welcome and you don't feel like you're a burden for asking questions. Now the food... I had the chicken, the lobster, and the shrimp (perks of bringing family ). Everything was really good. Great flavor, great crunch, good portion, and good fries. The lobster was the best but I would order the chicken as a good second choice. The sauces were great, at the recommendation of the cashier I had the mango curry, and the siracha aioli and I was not disappointed. The milkshakes are a bit on the creamy side to the point where the cream overrides the flavor of the milkshake. So I probably wouldn't order that again. If you tell me there is Bischoff in anything, I really want to taste it! Just an overall great place to eat. You're going to spend some money, but the experience will be worth it! Overall: 8/10 Location: 8/10 (beautiful views at the cost of parking per hour) Prices: 7/10 (expensive, but expected at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant) Customer Service: 10/10 Food: 8/10

Yelp
Gordon Ramsay's Fish & Chips delivers a fun and flavorful take on a British classic. The fish is crispy on the outside and perfectly flaky on the inside, with the batter adding the right amount of crunch without being too greasy. The chips (fries) are thick-cut and fresh, just as they should be. I also loved the variety of sauces, especially the tangy tartar sauce, which paired perfectly with the fish. The casual yet modern vibe of the spot is great for a quick bite. Order at the front and sit down, and the service is quick. If you're craving classic fish and chips with a bit of flair, this place is a good spot.

Yelp
Quick service, good food. What more can you ask for? Stopped here otw to a concert at the Anthem. Def worth the trip! Sat down and got food within 10mins. The food was simple and great! Not too greasy or oily. Didn't make you feel bad afterwards...perfect quick bite! The dirty chips 2 were delicious!

Yelp
I love me some Gordon. If you know me you know I HAD TO VISIT MY CHEF'S BUSINESS. lol. It is a pretty big restaurant with both outdoor and indoor seating. The menu is very specific sticking to fish, shrimp &, chicken with fries. The offer a pretty good selection of dipping sauce as well. It is fresh, not frozen so it is pretty good but just a bit oily. This is definitely a great spot for a quick lunch. I just think it is overpriced though. Mines came up to $26

Yelp
Great stuff! the different variety of fish &chips was great. The seasonal and regular frosty drinks are outstanding! The service was great. Kexane have us great descriptions about the different items. It was clean and bright and had a nice view of the area A win all around
google avatar

Stormy M.

Yelp
They really did the fish and chips well at this location. Everything came out hot and crispy. The fish was nicely cooked and seasoned, the fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. This was a perfect snack to share as we walked the wharf area on a beautiful sunny day.
google avatar

Nakeisha J.

Yelp
We tried this place again while in the area. Again the customer service was EXCELLENT! The Biscoff shake is still simply one of the best shakes out there! My previous review on the fish still stands, however we tried the chicken this time and it was delicious. The shrimp was exactly what I wanted as well. Ambiance was still great, overall it was worth moving them up a star for consistency and service.
google avatar

Yelp
This is such a great spot for late night snacking. I came here after a concert at the Anthem. My husband and I debated what to get and settled on the regular fish and chips. The food came out fresh and fast. Somehow our order got lost in translation and we ended up with the fish and shrimp. It was late and we were tired so we didn't cause a scene. The batter was light and tasty without being greasy. I'm a fan. It's honestly one of the more affordable options at the Wharf despite it being $20 per order. The mango dipping sauce was sooo good with the fish. The aioli sauce was great with the fries.
google avatar

Steven T.

Yelp
The combo came with a piece of fried cod, a piece of fried chicken and three pieces of fried shrimp over a bed of fries. The food was fresh out the fryer with a nice crispy batter that wasn't too thick. The highlight of the meal were actually the sauces. We tried their famous tartar sauce, curry mango, sriracha aioli and Dijon mayonnaise. All the sauces were amazing and paired great with the fried food, but you have to try the curry mango!
google avatar

Justine T.

Yelp
No, no, no...how was this Gordon approved? As a lover of fish and chips since childhood, these were some of the worst I've ever had. I got the fish combo, and both the fish and chips were soggy, even though they were served piping hot as if they were just fried. I just don't know how the deep frying was executed so poorly. The batter was thick, wasn't crispy, and just saturated in oil. It was like wet breading with a gush of oil in each bite. The fries were just as bad and the overall quality of the food was extremely poor. It was a struggle to finish the food and the textures were terrible. I'm sorry, but I've had better frozen meals than this. The meal was expensive, too, and didn't come with a drink. The tartar sauce was ok, and the only thing I liked was the curry & mango sauce, which was rich and sweet. The service was fine and we got our order pretty quickly. We ate inside the restuarant and it was quite hot - it felt like the AC was off, and without proper circulation, the air felt thick. It wasn't enjoyable to eat in. Overall, I was very disappointed and will never come back! I can't disrecommend this enough!
google avatar

Yelp
My husband wanted to try this place for a while and finally we got to go. Probably won't go back here to The Wharf. It was far for us and parking, haha $40 for probably 2 hours! I wouldn't say it was worth it. But what we got it was good, however, we had better. We got the fish combo. The cod was fresh and flaky. The batter was crispy, paired with the tartar sauce created the perfect balance. The fries were so good as well! I think it was expensive though but maybe because you are paying for the name :) service was nice. Restroom probably could use some cleaning since it was on the side of the restaurant with its own entrance so anyone can go in and out.

Yelp
I have never tried GR's Fish & Chips so when I see one, it is a no brainer to try it. This is like a fast food restaurant whereby customers form a line to order at one side, and pick up their food at another area. The food is made-to-order so the food is fresh and piping hot when your number is called. The inside seating is mainly for two-seaters, and only one table that is for four-seaters. The inside is shaped in an arc with two-seater tables and chairs all at the side. However, the outdoor seating has more tables and chairs for big groups. I had the fish combo with GR's tartar and southwest ranch. The ingredients were fresh and the sauces were very good. I also ordered the chicken combo, Gordon's combo, and the strawberries & cream shake. The chicken strips were juicy and tender. So good. The shake was a little too sweet but still yummy. All the fried food were crispy but the fish and chicken could have more meat in the batter. Overall it was a good meal.
google avatar

Steven D.

Yelp
I can't believe I'm actually giving this place a star grade higher than my Hell's Kitchen review. The food is bland and unimpressive but it's what I EXPECTED. Now what docks points from here are things like employees smelling like marijuana both on and off the shift. I've done some walking around the wharf and all the time I pass through it's always the same thing over and over. My homies like the milkshakes from here so it's what it is. At least these people can pronounce "Nguyen" unlike their "higher end" counterparts at HK across the street.

Yelp
We were craving some fish and chips and thought it would be fun to see the Wharf area. I sometimes enjoy watching his shows (but not a fan of his person), and this was a fun choice for a Memorial Day after helping my youngest daughter move. The wharf area was great to see and when we walked by Hells Kitchen nearby almost changed plans. But press on we did to this clean and bright casual spot. Service was friendly and relatively quick. It wasn't too busy yet and we found a table inside. We chose to share the Naan fish sandwich and fries and an order of combo fish, prawn, chicken and chips . And I got her a Biscoff cookie shake. The food was pretty good but after halfway into it we were getting a bit full and fried food was getting a bit tiresome. The fish was def tasty and cooked well, the shrimp ok but underwhelming, and the chicken a bit odd with a weird flavor and a strange vein through the middle?? Fries were good but not excellent. The dipping sauces pretty good. The star of this show was that expensive shake! We love Biscoffs and it was very tasty although topped with too much whipped cream we didn't finish after eating the one cookie. Only the shake was worthy of the extraordinary prices! I'm glad we went here and tried it so I could say we did but I wouldn't return it I didn't have a companion that insisted. The wharf area is one of the few places I've not seen yet in DC and if go back again to dine at one of the nicer joints.

Yelp
Excited to try my first Gordon Ramsey restaurant! The design of the restaurant was fantastic with solely Brittish music playing. Easy to order and pick up your food. Great patio to sit at the Wharf and eat. The food overall was amazing. The lead entre the fish had a crispy outside but the fish inside was not flakey at all, a bit soft if I needed to call it something; basically great on the outside/a big miss on the inside. Which is unfortunate cause the rest of the meal was superb. The shrimp were large and had the same crunch on the outside. The fries were the same. The shakes were a must get and had light flavors in a thick shake that you could enjoy all day long. A needed stop if you're enjoying the Wharf
google avatar

Priscilla Y.

Yelp
I was walking around the Wharf when I saw Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips. I love fish and chips and Chef Gordon Ramsey so I had to stop in. I had the fish combo, which came with three strips of fish, fries, and two sauces. I chose the tartar sauce and the southwest ranch. The fries were basic, but the fish was great. It was light and crispy. The batter didn't make it overly oily. I loved it with the tartar sauce. I didn't care for the southwest ranch. It was a pretty long wait for the food. About 20 minutes. I enjoyed my meal and would return to try the biscoff shake.
google avatar

Wayne H.

Yelp
The fish was fresh, fried to order, and the fish and batter were all perfectly seasoned. The fries were crisp, hot, and delicious, but not like the chips you would typically get in a chip shop. The portion of fish (3 small sticks of maybe 1-1.5oz each) was pretty small for the price ($22 after tax). The sauces were all delicious. A solid fish and chip if you don't mind the price relative to portion size.
google avatar

Alex P.

Yelp
Came here for the fish and shrimp plate and a drink $26 total. For somewhat "fast food" i found the prices to be high. The cod and chips were great. Though the shrimp were large they lacked flavor after being fried and battered. The sauces were just okay. The staff weren't approachable. The restaurant has very little seating but was clean. Overall I would come back for the fish plate. However considering this is more of a "fast" food set-up I found the prices to be very high.
google avatar

Nita W.

Yelp
My BFF wanted to eat here. So since I dragged her to DC for a concert, I conceded and fish sticks dinner by the beautiful wharf it was. The restaurant really is a fancy fast food joint. Soaring ceilings and patriotic British colors makes it look way better then the local LJS or Captain D's. But here, for $20+ USD you only get 3 battered fish sticks, a handful of "chips" AKA fries, and 2 small container of sauces. You can add toppings to your Chips for about $4-5 more. Add a drink to it and you're at $30. Seriously, it didn't taste bad-fried to order, but for the price and what you get, I don't think I will be coming back. The space under the sauces is blocked so there are no extra chips hiding under there.
google avatar

Gail B.

Yelp
We decided to visit the restaurant on a Saturday night, during Mardis Gras. I was happily surprised that the wait wasn't that long. The outside patio has tables. There are limited tables inside the restaurant. A greeter watches the flow of people and lets customers in a few at a time. There are several types of "fish and chips" or fish items, including sandwiches. The fish portion is small. The fries were decent. Two dipping sauces come with any order. If you want vinegar or additional sauces, you can ask someone at the pick up counter. That will save having to get back in line just for sauce. I was surprised that a Gordon Ramsey restaurant didn't gave a giant dispenser for ketchup or napkins in the to go bags. The curry sauce was my favorite. The strawberry shake was worth the trip. It was delicious.
google avatar

Vincent N.

Yelp
Ordered the Gordon's Combo (1 fish, 1 chicken strip, 3 shrimps with fries) also comes with two sauces. The tartar sauce is a must! I really enjoyed the fish and shrimp, the batter for the fish and shrimp was perfect, very fluffy, light, and crispy! The chicken was decent as well, but I recommend just getting the fish and shrimp! I think this is a great stop when in DC!
google avatar

Helene H.

Yelp
The staff was friendly. The place was very small, there were some tables and counters where you could eat inside, and some tables and chairs outside but I wouldn't come here with a large party. The food was tasty, don't know if the volume of food was worth the price tag, but the food we got was better than the average pub's fish and chips.
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
Delicious. The loaded fries are worth the upgrade. Ramsey's tartar sauce is very tasty.

Yelp
Located by the water, Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips in DC offers crispy, perfectly fried fish and golden chips. While it's a bit pricey, the quality and waterfront setting make it a great spot for a casual yet elevated meal.

Yelp
Food: Overpriced Very well prepared Chips( French fries) I think frozen , because they were too consistent in the cut Battered cod was good But really 3 fish sticks For $19.95? And tartar sauce not anything like it More like a French dukes mayonnaise with parsley and dill Very under seasoned And a pathetic little piece of lemon $3.99 for a plastic cup for a fountain soda Add what looks like 10% tax Really disappointing I can make it sooo much better At home And come to think about it Where is Arthur Treachers? Serving with malt vinegar So much better In product cost and taste Poor job Service ( none) self service Employees all seemed to be happy and very nice The environment is well thought out Not for the customer but for the business You see all the seats are against the window to appear that there is some activity going on inside Smart for the place Kinda using the customers? Bathrooms were semi clean and missing seat covers Not great All in all about 15 customer's from 11 am till 12:20 pm I also noticed Down the street Hell's Kitchen entrance Only about 3-5 customers for lunch? How are these places even staying open? I looked at some menus in the place accross the street and at Hell's Kitchen Just who in their right mind would spend that much money for lunch Totally nuts

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick lunch while at the wharf. I picked up the chicken, shrimp, and fish combo while my other party got the fish and shrimp combo. The food was fresh and delicious. Service was quick and friendly. I really liked the tartar and curry mango sauces. Prices were a bit steep for what you get as far as protein but on par for the area and restaurant name. I would go again!

Yelp
Seating is ok but it was busy. Outside is great place to eat. Fish was not too salty or oily and held up great. Fries come in different variety like Parmesan garlic, Jalapeño cheese, truffle something? With different dipping sauces(mango curry was ). Price wasn't too expensive. Service was phenomenal because the ladies at the counter were super friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Fish and chips from Gordon Ramsay? Yes please! Here are our 5 Star FAPS: Food (F): Hot and crispy! We got the Gordon's Combo that came with a fish, two pieces of shrimp, and two pieces of chicken. Everything was freshly hot, crispy, and juicy! The fries were tasty and not soggy! Loved the sauces! We also purchased the extra fish for $5.99. We thought we would get more than one piece, but it was literally only one extra. Not sure if that's worth the price. The sauces were recommended by the staff. You can also get free cups of water. Ambiance (A): For a hot summer day, it was nice to sit inside and enjoy the company of others as you enjoy a meal and/or a drink. There were many seat options for singles, couples, and families inside and outside of the restaurant. The wharf itself has plenty of seating options too. Two bathrooms inside the restaurant. Parking (P): Unsure how parking works, we took an Uber. Service (S): Friendly and attentive. There is one person constantly cleaning the tables. Overall, it was a solid fish and chips option!

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place but was unfortunately underwhelmed. I visited during the holiday season and the Wharf was having an event, so it was likely busier than usual. The line extended outside and I probably waited over 30 minutes in line just to order, and the food took around another 30-40 minutes to come out so I wasn't necessarily off to a good start. The food was just okay. I got the fish and chips platter, and I substituted the chips for truffle fries/chips. The chips were good but the fish was oily and under seasoned. I also got another platter which came with fish, 1 chicken tender, and a few shrimp. The shrimp was my favorite of the three. The star of the show was the biscoff shake, which was one of the best milkshakes I've ever had! Overall, if I came back I would order a platter with just shrimp and chips and a biscoff shake. Although, I'm not sure if I will be back as the environment in the restaurant wasn't the best either, it was messy and people would hover to get a table because it was so busy.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place, but instead I didn't care for it at all. The fish was bland and the sauces didn't help. It is overpriced and underwhelming.

Yelp
tldr: Not the best fish and chips I've ever had at a fast food restaurant but definitely the most expensive at $20 after tax and tip for 3 pieces and fries. Nice location at the Wharf. Nearby the upscale Hell's Kitchen. I would not go out of your way to come here for authentic fast food British fish and chips. The fish is cooked well--not overly dry nor greasy. However, it's missing the smashed peas which is usually a staple of British fish and chips, does not come with lemon, and has under flavored chips. The service is also very slow for a fast food restaurant. With about 7 folks ahead of us, it took roughly 20 minutes to get our food from the time we ordered. One highlight is the variety of dipping sauces. But don't come here just for that.

Yelp
I visited this spot with my cousin and nephew on a Saturday afternoon. I'd been eager to try it, especially because of its unique name, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. Food: We ordered two Fish & Chips and one Combo & Chips. The quality of the protein was disappointing. The fish tasted like it went straight from the freezer into the batter and fryer without proper preparation. For a meal that costs nearly $20, the portion of fries was incredibly skimpy. Service: I tried to engage with the staff at the register, but she didn't seem interested. When I joked about DC water, she turned to her co-worker and commented, "this is going to be a long day," which caught me off guard. I found it a bit rude but decided not to say anything. I guess younger generations have a different approach to customer interaction. Ambiance: The cleanliness of the restaurant didn't match its price point or location. There were napkins on the floor both inside and outside, which, while understandable due to the high foot traffic on a busy Saturday, still detracted from the overall experience. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
To be honest, I didn't really know what to expect! Obviously, it's a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, but I know it's a chain, so I wasn't expecting much at all. I was soooo wrong. Some of the best chips I've had in a while! The service was really great too!The batter on the fish and shrimp were absolutely perfect, salted well, and the fries were delicious. the sauces were the perfect pairing! I had the homemade tartar sauce and the curry mango sauce and both were fantastic (recommended by one of the girls at the counter!) Definitely will go again next time I'm in DC :)

Yelp
The food is so good and it came out really quick despite the long line that moves fast. The restaurant looks transports you to London and the food did not disappoint. Being at the Wharf was a nice touch, they may have made me a Fish and Chips fan. Kind of pricey in the end but the food is delicious.

Yelp
We visited Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips on a recent visit to the DC Wharf. The restaurant is very efficient and clean. The service is spot on, making it easy to order and pay. I enjoyed the traditional fish and chips, while my wife enjoyed chicken fingers. We both enjoyed our meal and believe that it is definitely worth a stop when you are at the Wharf. It's not fancy cuisine (that's next door at Hell's Kitchen), but it is fresh, hot, perfectly cooked and worth a stop. Oh.... and the fries are also perfect. You have to ask for the malt vinegar. Don't forget to ask!!

Yelp
I'm always leery about Celebrity chef eateries since they usually are underwhelming and don't live up to the hype. This was a pleasant surprise. We shared a Lobster & shrimp combo and added the Hook-It-Up fish. We had the dirty fried #2 and the Gordon's tartar along with the curry & mango sauce. Service was counter service...friendly & efficient. It was a little wait as everything was cooked to order. The ambiance was quick service restaurant...nothing fancy. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The batter used was light & airy...not heavy like the usual fried seafood...& was one of the best fried seafood I've ever had. The portions aren't very substantial with 1 whole lobster tail & several shrimp. Our Hook-It-Up fish was just 1 index finger sized piece of fish. The mango & curry sauce is just perfect to go with the fish. The tartar sauce was very flavorful with hints of tarragon. Hidden under the seafood was the Dirty Chips#2 - with truffle, Parmesan, chives & parsley. Everything was perfectly cooked and flavored. It's pricey but definitely worth the calories!

Yelp
The fish here is delicious. Always fresh and the small amount of curry in the tempura batter gives it a clean, crisp taste. I almost always get the truffle fries (Dirty Chips #2 add on) as well. The plain chips are just ok. The lemonade is also really really good.

Yelp
The layout is well-designed, and the waterfront views are stunning. It's the perfect spot for outdoor dining. Ronyae B. provided exceptional customer service, even offering refills. I ordered the fish sandwich, alacarte, which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Fresh seafood and a delicious snack. And the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant for a casual and enjoyable meal. $6.99 for the fish sandwich felt like a bargain.

Yelp
Good food at a good price for downtown Washington DC on the waterfront. It is an order counter/pickup counter. Go find a seat kind of place. There are indoor tables and counter and outdoor under umbrella seating. Great friendly staff. Perfectly prepared food. I'll probably go back when I'm in the area again. Oh, and the music is very good.

Yelp
We only got to the try the fish and chips with the dirty chips #2. It was so good. The fish portions are a little smaller so definitely consider getting the extra protein because it's so good you'll want more. The sauces were also all good. Gordon's tartar, ranch, and siracha aoili. The biscoff shake was also quite excellent. It's a quick casual place. Nothing fancy. If you're in the area and need a quick bite, this is the place.
