"Opened on Tuesday, October 25, this fast-casual outpost at 665 Wharf Street SW centers on takeout-friendly British pub grub sent out in Union Jack-splashed containers or on silver trays for dine-in. I note the 35-seat space is signaled by shiny red doors that resemble London telephone boxes and occupies 2,248 square feet with a wraparound patio overlooking the water. The menu is built around sustainable cod coated in a custard powder batter, with shrimp and chicken receiving the same crispy treatment; a three-piece combo with chips (aka fries) and two sauces runs $14.99 and up, and chips can also be loaded with meats and sauces. Chips are served “natural” with sea salt or “dirty” with truffle, parmesan, and chives; chipotle, jalapeño, and crisp chorizo; or bacon, cheddar, green onions, and sour cream. I also note a handheld “Fishwich” of crispy cod, avocado sauce, shredded cabbage, and tomato relish wrapped in warm naan, sugary treats like Sticky Toffee and Biscoff shakes, and a short beer-and-wine list that includes Devil’s Backbone Vienna Lager and Heavy Seas Loose Cannon IPA. The chain maintains existing outposts in Orlando and Las Vegas, with another en route to Times Square, and accepts walk-ins from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday–Saturday." - Tierney Plumb
