I'll start off by saying that I'm a Texan, so I'm very biased, and I have a pre-conceived idea of what BBQ is supposed to be. I'll give it to GQue. They at least try. For a chain BBQ joint, it's not bad. I'd put them at about the same level as Dickie's when it comes to food quality. Their sweet tea was on point! It was probably my favorite part. The brisket was ok. It was a little dry, and there wasn't a lot of flavor to it, but it did pick up the sauce well. The turkey was actually better than a lot of places because it was NOT dry at all, but it could've used a little more flavor. The sausage was...sausage...it tasted like everyone else's jalapeño sausage. The sauces were ok. The hot and original sauces tasted pretty much the same, and I'm pretty sure they were grocery store sauce, very generic-tasting. The mustard sauce was decent but was one of those that once you have it on a few things you get sick of it. The Mac & Cheese tasted like it was probably some powdered mix. It was very watery and not very good. The service was good. The girl at the register seemed to have the personality of a fence post, but she got her job done. The people bussing the tables were super nice and attentive. The atmosphere was about what you'd expect in a chain restaurant like this, relaxed but a bit loud. Overall, it wasn't a bad spot to stop for lunch, although a bit expensive. I'll probably stop by again sometime, but it's definitely not a destination.
