My husband, friends and I visited Gran Moraine for the first time and we had a wonderful experience. Preston, our tasting room host was incredibly kind and knowledgeable! He clearly and passionately explained the winery’s history and wine production process. Tim was also wonderful and kind. The wines were phenomenal. We will absolutely return again!

Preston gave us a fabulous tasting. It was our second visit in 2 years. Love the wine. LOVE the spring scenery 🌷 Such a wonderful day!!!

Google
First off. the winery/vineyard is beautiful ❤️ We went because we love the wine but will never forget the special time we had there. Tim is incredibly informative and just a super nice guy. He answered our stupid questions with aplomb. Take a walk around, it's gorgeous.

Gran Moraine is fantastic! We are members and have an amazing experience every time we visit. The wine is excellent and we love going in for tastings and always look forward to our quarterly wine shipments. It’s a go-to when friends and family are in town, too. The tasting room and grounds are absolutely beautiful, and Tim and Preston are friendly, super knowledgeable, and always make sure we have a great time. Whether you’re a local or just visiting for a bit, highly recommend stopping by!

What a fantastic experience! My third time to Gran Moraine and they really rolled out the red carpet for our party of 4. We visited on a quiet January afternoon without a reservation because I wanted to pick up a couple bottles of my favorite Zena Crown label - Slope. What we ended up with was a tour of the production facility and a full customized tasting with some bonuses thrown in, and the best service ever from Tim and the crew. And more than a couple bottles came home with us. Thank you for the delightful afternoon - we'll be back for our club pickup in the fall, if not before!

Google
The whole experience is fantastic, and why we continue to return. Tim is amazing and is very knowledgeable not only about their wine, but also the effort put into the products used on his charcuterie boards is outstanding. If you are looking for a personalized experience you will be pampered from the moment you walk in the door being greeted with a glass of bubbles all the way to a friendly thank you email after you have long departed, you won't be disappointed. I can't say enough good things about this location and how it is run!

Google
The winery was probably one of the best looking one of the 3 we visited in a lovely sunny Saturday. But the wine did not raise it at 5 stars. The snacks were probably the best I ve had at a winery ever! The sausage, the pate, the walnuts, the cheeses, the olives. All hand picked from local producers. Probably I just had too high expectations but will come back to give it another try one day.

Google
One of a kind tasting experience! My wife and I had a tasting at Gran Moraine. Preston met us at the door with a smile and some sparkling wine. Preston made the tasting very personal and unique. He was very knowledgeable about the wines and even shared a few that were not on the tasting menu. It was a fun time and I really appreciate Preston making the tasting such a special time for us. We will definitely be back and bringing friends

Yelp
The views are beautiful and the tasting room itself is elegant, upscale and classy. The service was what really set them apart, though. Both of the gentleman serving us were knowledgeable, personable and customized the tasting to our preferences instead of just pouring what was on the list. They were able to offer us food, drink and beach recommendations aside from the obvious wine recs and made the experience one of a kind. The wide range of Pinots were incredible as they own hundreds of acres of vineyards in the area. Also one of the best chrdonnays I've had! will definitely be back with friends!

Yelp
Came here for a wine tasting event during a trip to PDX for my brother's graduation. My friend is a member and invited my sister and I for wine tasting. It was a special event where they also had food and live music there. I was never really a fan of Pinot Grigio before, but after coming here, I'm a believer and now I only want to buy Pinot Grigio from Oregon. It was so good, I had to but a bottle for my step mom for Mother's Day soo she could enjoy it too! I loved the setting and vibe here which was casual, yet classy. If I lived here, I would totally join as a member so I could enjoy the wine throughout the year.

Jeanette H.

Yelp
Preston was wonderful and knowledgeable. The wine was fantastic, from the first sip of rose to the wonderful full bodied Pinots. The nosh board was very good complement to the wine. What a wonderful mother's a day experience. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and will be back again soon.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Great wines! Loved the sparkling rose. Greeted us with a glass of sparkling which was very nice. Ended up leaving with a box of wines. Only negative is that we received very small pours on our drinks-and the drinks were pretty spending individually. If we would've been poured more-the price would have been worth it. They had a meat, cheese and nut platter as well which we heard was new and a great addition!

Yelp
Full disclosure, this is an arm of my portfolio. That said, this property offers a nice, contemporary wine country elegance with stunning views all around where it sits on a hilltop. The range of wines from the estate and Zena Crown vineyard are all extremely high quality and well crafted. Coupling the great wines and views makes for a great visit, so book a tasting!

Traci And Hugh G.

Yelp
What a lovely day in wine country with friends and did we discover a must try if you are a wine enthusiast. The views are spectacular and the tasting room and grounds are first class. Most importantly the wines were impressive!!! Taylor not only provided us outstanding service, she was so knowledgeable and so personable. Thank you Gran Moraine for providing my friends and I a memorable experience.

Sandy P.

Yelp
My husband and I had a tasting here yesterday, and it was a beautiful experience. Right now tastings are by appointment only and they are taking good precautions against Covid 19. We felt very safe the whole time. The setting on the patio was spectacular, and Calais was very knowledgeable and helpful and able to answer all of our questions. More importantly, the wine was excellent! We loved every wine on the Gran Moraine tasting, and the chardonnay is a real standout here.

Lori P.

Yelp
Wow! Great find...had the whole place to ourselves Totally appreciated Andrew! The time and attention He gave to us, he created a great experience! Great wines in a great space check them out for sure

Cameron S.

Yelp
The wines here are amazing. It is very clear this vineyard focuses on the wine while others are more about product placement such as Durant. Strongly recommend asking for Calais here. Her service and knowledge of the wine was wonderful. We wanted to try a wine on the list we were looking to buy but it wasn't part of the tasting. She pulled the vintage that was similar since the one we wanted wasn't out yet. Even as the tasting room got busy she continued to provide excellent service. The wine was splendid and I would go back in a heart beat.

Yelp
Visited today and throughly enjoyed ourselves! I think the guy's name was Jason???, was knowledgeable,in a very nonjudgmental way, and friendly. I'm not a big wine but, but enjoyed the tasting and thought that they had a very nice place.

Kris Y.

Yelp
I was very disappointed with our experience. The staff was rude, not accommodating and dismissive. It was the worst experience I have ever had.

Meghan M.

Yelp
I got lucky enough to be the only early morning Easter visitor this year! Was treated to some 1:1 time with the staff there, who were very kind and knowledgeable on the Gran Moraine & Zena Crown wine that they were pouring. I loved hearing the story about the winemaker and history of the vineyard.

Meghan P.

Yelp
The Chardonnay is out of this world , do yourself a favor and drink it ! All of the wines we tried Were phenomenal . I wish i remembered the girls name who helped us , but she was knowledgeable and friendly . Thank you gran Moraine

Cori A.

Yelp
What a nice find, and surprised that the tasting room has been open for 4 years now (!) There are so many in the Yamhill/Carlton area it would be easy to overlook, but getting a recommendation from a lovely young lady pouring at Penner-Ash lead our group to Gran Moraine and I will definitely be recommending (and returning). Had heard that their pink bubbles are equal or better then then Sotor's (Sotor pop as I know have heard it called) wasn't opened to try, but really enjoyed their Rose. The Chardonnay was a welcome treat as our NW Oregon area doesn't offer many ~ the Pinot Noir's on the tasting menu were excellent (the 2014 especially) Very nice, comfortable tasting room, with knowledgeable and welcoming pourers ~ cheers!

Tammy V.

Yelp
Thanks Jason for a fantastic tasting experience. We truly enjoyed the wine and the professional yet personable time spent with you at Gran Moraine.

Yelp
Jack and the Giant? Nothing so sinister here? So the story goes, the Jackson family of wineries bought up Solena and a ton of vineyard land here in the valley. Normally the ethos of Portland eschews big players moving in and scooping up little guys. But surprisingly, the overwhelming sentiment of most of the locals I encountered is that it's welcome. Big money and big names can help bring prominence to this burgeoning region. While I'm sure there are others who would disagree (I myself was skeptical, since I have no love for the sauce that Kendall Jackson slings on discount at your average Safeway), one thing I can say for sure is that I was summarily impressed by the tasting room, the staff and most particularly, the wines. This winery currently produces two wines, the regular 'ol pinot and the Estate Reserve. Both are worthy. Nice, big, red, juicy pinots. Wines with substance. They stand apart from the often delicate and subtle pinots that come from this region. They display a lot of the qualities of the more lush pinots that some of the wineries in the area produce. California style? Maybe. Not hot enough, but still packs a punch. I was motivated to purchase a bottle of each. Currently on limited production, these folks have plans to blow up production over the next several years. And if they can use the Jackson machine to get more Oregon wine love to more parts of the world, well, is that a bad thing? I'm not in on the internal politics of Oregon wine, but I do know what I like to drink. And I like these wines. I like the thick, ripe style. I can see them being drinkable now (as most 2012 vintages are) or standing up for a few years and turning into something even more interesting. The price is up there. So these are not entry-level, accessible pinots for the masses. They're doing something more refined. I'm curious to see where this goes. For now, I like what I drank here.

Yelp
What a fantastic winery and location! Just 10-15 min drive off of 99W..I drove in on a foggy day but it cleared up pretty soon to reveal the magnificent views. The drive up is pretty picturesque with story book like red barns and an undulating single lane road leading up to the winery. This winery is a hidden gem for Portlanders, especially because it's so conveniently located too! Great place to hang out with friends and family and they have several events too. I heard about a 'truffle festival' this weekend..how cool is that?! Their Pinot's are fantastic and I hear about some Chardonnays coming soon too! I bet you'll love this winery like I did..especially if you're a wine lover like I am =)

Sharon K.

Yelp
Beautiful winery, wonderful wines & knowledgeable staff! Highly recommended!! A must see!!

Tawny H.

Yelp
I have been to a number of wineries and never been treated the way I was at Gran Moraine yesterday. The staff was unwelcoming and rude. Safe to say I will never go back.

Nastasha J.

Yelp
Surprised to see the one star reviews. This winery has some great wine and the staff was very nice when we visited. Give this place a shot - you won't be disappointed! :)

Paula S.

Yelp
Their pinot noir is amazing. We have loved every single wine that we've tasted from them, including their chardonnay, which I am not usually a huge fan of. Chris is so personable and has a great sense of humor. I would highly recommend this winery to anyone who is looking for a place to taste in the Willamette Valley.

Jim H.

Yelp
Spent a day wine tasting in the valley. Gran Moraine was not on the list but was recommended by two people at other wineries...and happened to be near some other destinations on our list. What a pleasant surprise! By far the best wine across the board for the day. The pinots are just pure bliss. Do check it out, as I have a feeling this place is going to start racking up the awards and become quite popular as it grows.

Steve K.

Yelp
Gran Moraine was a nice surprise... It's a small-production new venture by the Jackson family (Kendall-Jackson, et al), so at least for now, they only offer 2 pinot noir wines. But, wow, are they good! We decided they were among the best we had on our recent Oregon wine tour No appointment is needed... The property has nice vistas, the winery building is newer and large, and they're in the process of re-configuring the tasting room to make it more customer-friendly. The small staff is also welcoming and knowledgeable It may not be on many people's radar just yet, but I predict Gran Moraine will quickly rise in prominence... Worth a visit Recommended

Tanja H.

Yelp
First visit this weekend and had a very positive experience! Loved the smaller size of the winery and the personal attention we received. The young women who greeted us was very friendly and attentive. We arrived late and she was not bothered at all! She had everything ready for our party of 12 and made us feel welcome right away. The Rose' was my favorite and the Pinots in the flight were also very delicious. Open and spacious tasting area with a view of a the beautiful grounds. Reasonable tasting fees, friendly staff and wonderful wines. Recommend you visit!

Duyen N.

Yelp
Wow, this was our last stop over the weekend. Their Pinot Noir wines were consistently good with complexity and layer. My husband and I were so surprised how good both their white and red wines were.
