The Best Valentine’s Day Dining for One | Eater Twin Cities

"For a luxe, partially prepared meal, Grand Café assembled a decadent kit for $185 that provides instructions to finish cotes de bœuf with pommes purée at home while preparing the rest of the menu, which features Norwegian king crab with baguette and butter, a kale and wood-fired vegetable salad with sherry vinaigrette and blue cheese, and a chocolate pot de crème with mandarin and yogurt; add-ons include a $30 floral arrangement and a $100 bottle of Veuve Fourny Blanc de Blancs." - Alicia Banaszewski

Grand Cafe Review - Summerlin - Las Vegas - The Infatuation

"There are the days in Vegas when you plan to splurge and spend the next year replenishing your savings account. And there are also days when you need to at least attempt to be economical so you can return home with enough cash to purchase that posturepedic you’ve been eyeing on TV. If you’re looking for something that falls into the second category, visit the Grand Cafe inside of the Red Rock Hotel and Casino. Their reasonably priced breakfast menu is available 24 hours a day, but their all-nighter menu, available from 11pm-6am, is really the best deal. It has everything from burgers to biscuits and gravy, though once you see the steak and eggs for under $10, your decision will have been made." - Edward Thompson

Palace Station Renovates Grand Cafe | Eater Vegas

"Undergoing a four-month makeover, the 24-hour Grand Cafe at Palace Station is part of the resort's wider transformation; the planned changes originally led the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 to prepare pickets to help 75 employees retain their jobs, but the union called off those picket lines after Station Casinos agreed to keep employees and offer “recall rights” when the new venues open." - Susan Stapleton

If you're in the casino it's a convenient option. We were seated quickly, food arrived in a timely manner. I had the meatloaf which was just fine for a location of this type. Not world class by any means but it filled the bill

Google
The service was fantastic. The food came out a little slow. No biggie. The food was great! I was a little apprehensive about trying this place out for breakfast at the prices ... Yet, it was actually really yummy. Albeit, pricey for what you get. When I went, it's definitely a higher rating than a 3. I appreciate you guys. Thanks for feeding me!

Sometimes, the wait was long even when the restaurant looked almost empty, which was weird. However, no need to wait in line there. Just gave them my phone number and they sent me a text when my table was ready, so I could go and do other things while waiting. Food was good, with good portions as well and not too overpriced. Server was always fast and attentive to my need. Overall, a great experience there.

We've eaten here a few times before when staying at GSR. I'm surprised I never left a review.   This place is usually crowded, and there is always a wait.  The cashier who helped me was nice, and she made sure we had everything we needed from jellies, hot sauce,  and extra napkins. We ordered breakfast to go, and our food was piping hot. 1.  Country fried steak and eggs - I ordered it with over medium eggs and sourdough toast.  At first glance, I was sad and said I should've asked for more gravy.  Then I noticed they placed gravy underneath as well.  Genius.  The country fried steak was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside.  Hash browns were perfectly cooked,  nice, and crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside.  It was perfection. 2.  All American Breakfast Sandwich - This was a "Beast" of a sandwich.  Halfway through, my husband was like, "I'm already full."  Thick slice of ham on the inside and hearty pieces of bacon.   This was perfectly portioned all throughout. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

Google
Visually appealing restaurant. Large dining room. Very quick service, we sat down and within seconds someone was asking for our drink order. Our drinks never sat empty. Food came quick, but not too quick that we couldn't enjoy our appetizer. Only con would be the prices. Seems pretty costly compared to other cafes, but luckily the food wasn't bad. Fish and chips could of been better but wasn't bad. Club was very good and very big. I would go back.

Had one of the worst meals and awful servers - not a great place😕 Had breakfast with my son - things started with a surly, curt server and went downhill from there. He had the chicken fried steak, I had a ham and cheese omelette. His steak was rough and grisly, and the breading thick and great, although the gravy was tasty. My omelette was meh, the hash browns tasteless and cold. But given the attitude of the server, I was afraid to say anything! I asked for peanut butter as the jam tray did not have any, and you’d think I’d asked her to grow peanuts, harvest them, and make the peanut butter herself - very put out. However, the worst was yet to come. An hour later my son was in the bathroom and remained there most of the morning. Unfortunately, I tried a couple forkfuls of his breakfast and had a similar, if not delayed reaction, lasting the afternoon, evening, and through the night. I had been warned to avoid the Grande Cafe and should have heeded it - you should do the same.

Google
Grand Dissapointment I was thoroughly disappointed by the cheeseburger I had recently at the Cafe. It was, without a doubt, one of the driest burgers I have ever encountered. The patty was overcooked to the point of being nearly crumbly, with no juiciness of flavor to speak of. The cheese, instead of melting into a gooey delight, was barely melted. Even the condiments seemed to be struggling to bring any moisture or flavor to the table. Overall, it was a dry bland experience that left much to be desired. It's definitely not worth the price. On a positive note, the server was great.

Google
The server was excellent here. Very knowledgeable on menu. I got the potstickers 🥟, all American burger 🍔, & chicken 🍗 wings. Great for a quick bite before dinner 🍽️.

Yelp
This evening (11pm) we chose to grab a bite @ The Grand Cafe open until 2am on Saturday evenings. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was clean and the music was vibing from the DJ nextdoor at The Crystal lounge. Each of us enjoyed our late night eats. 1. Grilled Chicken Sandwich w/sweet potato fries. 2. Grand Burger (M) w/ff 3. Pesto grilled cheese w/FF *Wine & Spirits available. *Keno while you dine * Mimosa Daily Special Hours: Fri & Sat: 7a- 2am Sun & Mon: 7am-Midnight Tuesday: 7am-11pm Wed & Thurs: 7am-Midnight FYI: This spot is typically packed for breakfast!

Yelp
The younger guy (didn't catch his name)who took our drink order was amazing! He was very attentive & refilled our drinks a handful of times. Very kind guy. The server, Tesla, was fricken awful, making the overall experience just downright terrible! She never refilled the coffee at our table (he had to go up to the front desk for a refill), messed up our drink refills, continually disappeared being nowhere to be seen throughout a majority of our dinner, & was nearly impossible to flag down when she decided to make an appearance on the floor. She didn't listen to the customers when we asked for anything really, & had a bit of an attitude when she wasn't ignoring us. Unfortunately, we will never be returning to this establishment thanks to Tesla. This was my last meal before giving birth, & although it was memorable, it was for all the wrong reasons. The food wasn't awful, but it wasn't phenomenal either. Mediocre at best. Maybe it would've tasted better if the server didn't leave such a bad taste in our mouths.

Yelp
We were seated promptly. Our sever was nice and pleasant. She gave me time to review the menu. There's plenty of seating. Very nice old Hollywood, but modern decoration. Food was good and plentiful. The kids menu was a great value. $10 for 2 pancakes, an egg and hash browns. I got the same thing but the adult size and it included two bacon and two sausage For $24. The hashbrowns were made perfectly. I did have to wave down our server for a few items on different occasions, including a spoon for my coffee and creamer, butter for the kids pancakes, so make sure you ask for these upfront so you don't have to wait. Overall, nice breakfast

Yelp
The food was good, Edward and Diego made a great team. 5 Star service. The service was excellent, nice and clean restaurant.

Yelp
Try this place out and you will not regret it . Got seated within a few minutes of arrival , clean restaurant . Nice menu . Delicious homemade chili and my salad was 10/10. Server Terry was not only personable and sweet but very good . I'll definitely recommend this place .

Yelp
Two years later and we're back. Same great food. Same quiet and quaint ambiance. Same great service. We were ironically seated in the same table as two years ago. Food and service were even better this time. I love the updates. Hubby had chicken quesadillas and I had sante fe chicken salad. It definitely hit the spot after being on the road. Thank you Sierra.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. You won't be mad at the staff, menu choices, and overall experiences. Don't miss this great dining option in the casino.

Yelp
The grand cafe is good for a quick bite. It is your typical diner style food. We ordered a side of bacon, sausage and 2 eggs. The bacon and eggs were very good but the seasoning in the sausage was a little over powering. The plating also looked thrown together and sloppy. We also got the Sierra slam combo which was good. My wife enjoyed the pancake and bacon but also thought the sausage seasoning was overpowering. The amount of food you get in this meal is a great deal. Our server was very nice and did a good job. Overall I would come back here for a quick breakfast.

Yelp
There aren't a lot of breakfast options at GSR, especially if you're a vegan. Our server was very sweet but didn't know how to help a vegan find options on the menu. I ordered the caprese avocado toast without mozzarella, a side of hash browns, and a side of refried beans (which might not even be vegan). The toast looked beautiful. I was excited to eat it. However, when I went to cut into it, the bread was barely toasted, so it was super soft. That's just not the texture you want for toast covered in avocado, balsamic, and tomatoes. The hash browns were pretty good, just under salted. The refried beans arrived with cheese on them, so I had to scrape that off, but they tasted fine as well--again, just under salted. My husband really enjoyed his breakfast though--country-fried steak with over-easy eggs, dry marbled rye, and a side of applewood-smoked bacon. Our food arrived really quickly, which was great. Since this was the first day of our mini vacation, I'm sure we'll be back for breakfast. I'll try ordering the avocado toast extra toasted next time.

Yelp
My youngest son and I came here to celebrate my "birthday month" before attending a concert and I was disappointed that they were out of cake :-( We got a couple of scoops of ice cream, and will a discount, turned out to be comps on the house. Busy place with lots of tourists on the weekend. Nice to see everyone out and having a good time in the casino though. Wait staff were friendly. Cafe was a bit disheveled

Yelp
Here for a trade show and came here multiple times because of the variety in dishes to accommodate the group

Yelp
The beef & broccoli was incredibly flavorful and delicious! Highly recommend! My mom got the general tso chicken and said it was amazing as well! My hubby got the chili cheese burger and said it was okay, needed a little more flavor and my step dad got the grilled chicken sandwich, he said it was way too messy to enjoy. He didn't like it at all. Overall good experience but it was very busy. Expensive so be prepared for that. Locals do get 20% off which is awesome! And of course we all used our food comps. I'd come back for the beef&broccoli again.

Yelp
The decor is super cute, vibrant and welcoming. Food overall was good as well. Tried a few items and my ratings are as follows: Fried calamari 5/10 (could have been fried better and it was fishy). Shrimp chicken pasta 9/10 Breakfast burrito 9/10 Grilled chicken sandwich 7/10 (very bland) Good, attentive servers. I'd give this place a solid 4 stars
google avatar

Lydia K.

Yelp
Ordered the General Tso chicken. Way too salty! Good sized portion for an ok price at a casino. Partner ordered it with shrimp as the menu said any item could be made with shrimp. The shrimp was not fried as the chicken version is and it would have been nice to know that. There was a lot of shrimp though and he liked it. The service was ok, and the restaurant was comfortable and clean. We would probably eat here again but I would not order the General Tso again.

Yelp
Service was eh from our server, so eh that I forgot his name. Food was average, but the fries were crispy crunchy, just how i like it. Our food runner was amazing! Unfortunately we didn't get his name. Good place to eat at GSR if it's not super busy, otherwise the wait will ve super long!

Yelp
I wasn't really expecting a whole lot so I definitely wasn't disappointed. It was a late night hunger that landed us at one of the only places still open. I really wanted the fish and chips but decided to be good and ordered the Cobb salad instead. It was just meh. The waitress was nice enough but seemed very frazzled throughout our entire time there. It wasn't really that busy at all but it felt like it was overwhelming to her. I kinda felt bad for her. It definitely felt cafeteria to me but I guess that's why they dubbed it cafe. Not a place I'd chose to go again.

Neelab S.

Yelp
This is my second review for this place within a few days. That is to thank Claudia for an amazing service during our morning breakfast and special thanks to Terry for serving dinner. Terry did not just accommodate my request but was very helpful with menu and suggested a yummy item. She is very soft spoken and very professional. I appreciate her. Ty Terry for making my boring evening fun.

Yelp
After you get the menu take a picture of the prices. Our waitress added 3 bucs to almost every item...had to complain to the mgr. who then reduced my bill by 20% after showing my GSR card. The waitress had taken off 34 cents after I gave her my card...Trust but Verify...

Yelp
Decided to stop by for breakfast. Was able to get seated fairly quickly. We were brought waters and coffees, unfortunately the coffee cup I was given had a huge crack down one side as well as a small hole in the middle of the crack. Thankfully they did bring me a new one. I ordered the Belgian waffle which had whip cream and strawberries but also came with syrup as well so it was the best of both waffle worlds. The hubby ordered a breakfast burrito which he said was good, but we found it rather odd that there were refried beans in it. We shared a side of sausage links that were delicious.

Yelp
Irma was Amazing!!! Breakfast and service was so good and easy before heading to airport!
google avatar

Yelp
OK, it was super loud in here and the food is just OK. It wasn't like a steak dinner, but my son's burger was good. He had the hangover burger. My onion rings with my patty melt or cool not hot. The steak quesadilla looked pretty good. To be fair I never come into the grand Sierra, but we had an event to go to so we came up here to grab something to eat.

Yelp
I usually just get a spaghetti and meatball and it always comes out the same: the garlic bread is delicious and the pasta and marinara sauce is good but the meatballs are never heated up properly!! I already know they premake them and freeze/refrigerate them afterwards and they just microwave it to get it to temperature but it's always lukewarm! I don't expect too much since it's one of the few places open later but come on for $23 after taxes, I expect it to be better, it can be a really good dish, just make the effort chef! Thanks! The place and the service is clean. I'll continue to order my spaghetti I'm just gonna ask for my meatball to be heated up throughly from now on-in the oven for 385 degrees for 15 minutes, thanks!

Yelp
I've ate here several times. The food is always excellent with large portions. The service is a 10 without a doubt. We asked for a quiet area and they went out of their way to accommodate us.

Yelp
Not the best food choice in Reno but there's room for growth. Grand cafe used to be a staple late night eats when I first moved to Reno, but my how things have changed. My friends and I dropped by to enjoy some late night eats yesterday , but that was a bust. The service was delayed and there were more than enough workers to accommodate. The ambiance was pretty mellow with a decent amount of visitors in the restaurant so it was unclear why the wait was so long. Food took about an hour after order being placed to get to table and the food was okay. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with onion rings. The onion rings were the best thing on my plate. The price matched the portion sizes but honestly I just didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Although it wasn't the best meal and service I am thankful to our host Jocelyne for delivering great customer service.
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Just a good solid café inside of the GSR hotel with a grand selection of things yet not overwhelming. The food quality was poor and although it is inside the GSR you expect things to be higher and higher quality, but because the price was middle scale, the food was acceptable. Service was a bit bland. Had the chicken and shrimp pasta.
google avatar

Agnes C.

Yelp
First-time trying this place. My husband wanted a quick bite to eat after a hectic day, so we decided to stop by GSR and found this restaurant. He ordered me this gigantic pretzel. I was freshly made. The waitress was very friendly and pleasant. It was not crowded but a steady flow of customers. The restaurant was clean and has a good vibe to it. It was a nice experience and we will definitely come back.
google avatar

Yelp
No line on a weekday late night dinner. The cafe was not busy so we received quick service. Erik and Wendy were pleasant and helpful. We were seated quickly by the host. Mongolian Beef was served hot and made fresh. Good flavor with a bit of heat. Would have been better if it were served with fresh, hot rice. Fortune cookie and chopsticks were wrapped in their packaging and served on top of my Mongolian beef. Definitely not appetizing. American Burger with sweet potato fries were exactly what you expect in a cafe burger and it didn't disappoint. While this menu has a very diverse selection from all over the globe, on this occasion, sticking with the burger and fries would have been better than going global.

Yelp
Came in late night with friends party of 3. inside the coffee shop, with few employees, and around 6 tables are occupied, we were seated, and waited for good 10 minutes before the wait staff, delivered cups of ice cold water to the table. All 3 of us decided to try their 9 dollars pancakes specials they are promoting. The size of the portions, and the quality, is not worth the price. It should be a 4 dollars plates. The pancakes are so dried, it's hard to eat. Eating the pancakes was like eating mouthful of flour, the hash brown is over cooked, the bacon looks like it been sitting at the steam table, like you see at the buffet, the bacon is hard to chew. The only thing that is cooked right is the sunny side up eggs. The service is poor, the wait staffs was seen In public on their personal phones, We tried to flag them down for the check, and it took them 30 minutes to deliver the checks. The employees are more into their phones, then working or providing proper customer services. I would not be back, if you are looks for late night snacks, go to chickie peas, or near by uno mas, or 2nd street. Avoid Cafe grand at all costs.

Yelp
Order via the app, We tell the lady it's just onion fries, she goes on the check larger orders and we can tell by the bag it's not ours. It took 45 minutes to get some onion rings LOL and they didn't give sauces. JUST ONION RINGS. It didn't seem busy at all either. AND on top a $1 service fee is insane cause the service was shit show. Offer some drinks while the excessive wait. Another lady comes at 35 mins wait time saying they were out of onion rings but somehow not got them. LOL take it off your menu or say unavailable I will never get the 45 mins back. Smh

Yelp
We had a late dinner last night at the Grand Cafe after watching a show in the Grand Theater because disappointingly enough, Johnny Rockets and the Grand Buffet were already closed by 10pm. When we approached the host/hostess's station, we were informed the restaurant had sat its last open table and there will be between a 10-15 minute wait even though there were plenty of empty tables in plain sight; they must've had a staffing shortage. When our 3-person party was finally seated, our server: Edward (according to the receipt) appeared to take our food orders after a few minutes. We ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich with a side of regular fries and ranch dipping sauce (which my niece noted tasted a little sour), a club sandwich with a side of regular fries and mayo for dipping (yes, very European), and a Reuben sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. Unfortunately, our server neglected to take our drink orders so we were all stuck with the complimentary glasses of ice water. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich arrived in a timely manner and the regular French fries were great: hot, fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. My niece said her Philly sandwich tasted good too. My Reuben' sandwich's bottom bread slice was a bit soggy but that's to be expected (I guess) and my sweet potato Fries were room-temperature and under seasoned. My sister's club sandwich took longer to make than the other sandwiches and was the last to arrive at our table; the bacon on the club sandwich was tough; fortunately, her regular fries were hot and fresh tasting as my niece's fries. All the food was okay (imperfect but okay) and the service was friendly enough; our entire meal was a little on the pricey side, especially for a couple of okay sandwiches; so overall our dining experience was a little underwhelming. This is the second time I've dined at the Grand Cafe and if we had any other choice, I wouldn't eat here again because I really feel the restaurant is too overpriced and unimpressive.

Yelp
Here I am . . . again! Came here for a change from the other food offerings at GSR, which should tell you something about this place. It was not too busy, and I was quickly seated and then greeted by my server, Kellee. I already had decided before arriving what I wanted and placed the order. I ordered a Cobb salad, with extra blue cheese dressing and a side of onion rings, with an iced tea for good measure. I was surprised how quickly the order arrived! The salad was in a deep bowl and filled with many colorful and varied texture-wise ingredients. It was quite a sight. There was, I would find out, half an avocado at least! The onion rings were hot and fresh, not great at all. I didn't need the ranch dressing on the side, as the flavor stood well by itself. Overall, the meal was very tasty and just as I had expected. It can be pricey for some people, although for $30, it was the average fare around casinos in Reno. You pay for convenience at 11 p.m. at times! Kellee was very attentive and a great server. If you need a simple meal up until. 2 a.m., this is the place!

Yelp
Laurie was our family's server the last time we were in. She was AMAZING! she went above and beyond to accommodate my family and my dietary restrictions. Food was great and my egg white omlette was the best I've had in a long time! The diner was clean for a coffee shop and the coffee was strong and hit the spot! We will be back and hopefully we'll be lucky enough to have Laurie again as a server!

Mark M.

Yelp
Had a great dinner at GSR's Grand Cafe: food & drinks were excellent and our server Gigi made it even better! Kudos to the entire staff-especially Gigi!!!

Yelp
Great restaurant for a casino. Simple menu but, they have options to cover breakfast lunch and dinner for days/nights in a casino! We tried the salmon, cobb salad, meatloaf during our stay here. Generous servings!

Yelp
We were lucky to be assigned in Edward's area because he provided exceptional service and he made some great recommendations. Based upon his tip, we ordered Seasonal Mules made with Mandarin Vodka. We each ordered Shrimp Louie Salads which were very unique. While traditional Shrimp Louie Salads include cold shrimp, sliced hard boiled eggs and Thousand Island Dressing, this Louie was made with warm seasoned prawns, sliced hard boiled eggs, sliced avocado and a lemony caper dressing that tasted like Caesar. Although it was not what we were expecting, was quite tasty and we would order it again. For dessert my husband ordered the Apple Pie and I had the Blueberry Cheesecake. Both were delicious, but if I had to pick, the Apple Pie would win. It had a lot of cinnamon and was really yummy. We have dinned here several times before concerts and all our meals have been good. The ambiance is upscale for a coffee shop and the service is good.

Yelp
I have two complaints about this restaurant and i hope someone from there will reach out to me to rectify what happened. We stayed at this resort from 4/3-4/5 bc our daughter was part of the Far Western volleyball tournament. After a long day at the tournament we decided to try this place. We were seated and served refreshments pretty quickly. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 waters, a coke, meatloaf dinner, french dip sandwich, and the fettuccine alfredo amongst the 3 of us. The bad experience about getting our meals after we sat down was that it took approximately 45 min to get our appetizers from the time we ordered them. We watched 3 different tables come in after us in a span of 10-20 minutes or more after we walked in...get their full order before we even got our appetizers. The staff was polite when we questioned why was it taking so long for the appetizers. One of the waitresses stated itll be right out. Another 20 minutes goes by after she stated that and finally they came out. I have to say watching three tables that walked in after us get there full order, one table finish eating, paid there bill before we got our appetizers was pretty disappointing. I cant say that i was generous with the gratuity tip on the bill. Which brings me to my next point. Every item i ordered is on the review for a total charge of $116. My tip was $10 because of the long wait for our appetizers and our food. Doing the math thats $126. The restaurant decided to charge my card $206 instead of $126. So they gave themselves a $90 tip instead of the $10 tip i felt it deserved. Usually im a pretty decent tipper. Always between 15-20%. But i felt that my usual range wasnt earned. But the fact that someone decided to change my receipt is fraud. I will be reaching out today now that I see my charge was increased significantly. Update: Thank you Madison for rectifying the mistake on your staff's behind. Madison was able to correct the over charge for our dinner. We appreciate you for offering a free dinner next time we are at Reno.

Yelp
We went in for a late dinner. Our server was great and this is not her fault. However, the kitchen staff took 42 minutes from the time the ticket was submitted to get our food out. Everyone that ordered after us was eating well before us. My burger was cold, and made incorrectly, another meal was burned and eggs under cooked, and the last meal was missing the hash browns and eggs were over cooked. Management said they would discount the meal... This should have been a comped meal but all they provided was 20% off that would have been given anyway for a military discount. For a casino/resort restaurant, very disappointing. We have been here many times and will never be returning to the cafe. No fault of our server, but management/kitchen staff, come on. Do better.

Yelp
Came here for a quick brunch with our friends before leaving the resort. I ordered the club sandwich, which was pretty good. My friends had other selections. Didn't taste it myself, but recommend to not go with the Asian selections cause my friends weren't a fan of it. Lots of spacious seating and service was good.

Yelp
Restaurant was clean and the menu looked good. We waited a bit to place our order only to be told the fryers were down. You could get fries and onion rings, but no wings or other fried food. Ok. That's fine. We adjusted and ordered. The food took at least 45 minutes to show up - and not because the restaurant was busy. It was only half full. Two of us had Asian bowls which were great. The the Reuben one of our party ordered was really dry - with almost no thousand island - which made the whole sandwich really dry. The chicken Caesar was ok. The waitstaff was clearly frustrated so not sure what the deal was in the kitchen....but we left disappointed in the experience

Yelp
I went to meet a very elderly family friend for breakfast here, ugh, I don't usually eat breakfast. He looked fantastic and was very chipper for a 90+ year old young man. I ordered a cheddar cheese and ham omelette with hash brown potatoes and lots of sausage gravy. Anything can be made to taste good with sausage gravy. I had to liberally use a lot of cholula hot sauce, eggs seem to go better with this. Breakfast, you decide, I don't have a lot of meals involving this, however if it were a Norwegian type of breakfast consisting of fish, now that I would go for.

Yelp
Know that you're paying a premium for convenience while staying at this hotel to eat here. That said, this was a decent spot to get some ok food. We came for a dinner and breakfast. Service was very attentive for dinner, less so during breakfast, which was busier. Staff was nice. We didn't wait long to order or for food to come. Restaurant was clean and there was nice wall decor. The lowdown on the food: FISH AND CHIPS, with ONION RINGS instead of cole slaw: the texture of the batter was good, fish was moist, but there was no seasoning. The fish was merely a vehicle for the tasty tartar sauce. The fries and onion rings were great in flavor and texture! And the ranch dipper was yummy. FRENCH DIP with SWEET POTATO FRIES: Mediocre. The meat wasn't hot upon arrival or seasoned, the jus was ok, bread was good, sweet potato fries were good with nice texture. KIDS FRENCH TOAST: Basic & good, cinnamon stood out, served with ample butter & syrup. The kids cup was cute & nice quality! SIDE OF SAUSAGE: Tasty, but hard, dense, & dry. PANCAKES: Three basic pancakes that were tasty & fluffy. Menu describes them being served with berries & candied pistachios. Got raspberries, but no pistachios. When I questioned the server, was told that it's never served with them, people don't care for them, kitchen not stocked with them, & it would only be 3 little nuts anyway. Got an apology. STEAK & POACHED EGGS, HASHBROWNS, WHEAT TOAST: Steak was cooked to preferred doneness & was tender, but lacked seasoning. Poached eggs were satisfactory. Hashbrowns were good. Toast came already heavy buttered. Would only eat here again for convenience, but not if I wanted better than just ok food.

Yelp
Ask for Edwardo when you're here! Food was descent and service was with a smile. Chicken noodle soup had dark meat and was surprisingly delicious. Their fried asparagus was also tasty.

Yelp
Have eaten here a few times over the years passing through for Burning Man. Decent, solid food for an okay price. That is, your typical mainline casino hotel diner/cafe. All the usual American food staples are here. I've always had a weakness for country fried steak, and this place does not disappoint. Ridiculously large portion, with good-enough gravy. Service can also be a tad spotty sometimes. The servers are generally professional and courteous, just sometimes a tad inattentive, or the kitchen a tad slower than I would have expected. I suppose this could be blamed on pandemic/economic staff shortage in these times. Bathrooms: Not here, but down a ways in the main casino/hotel area.

Yelp
Update - manager responded on Yelp to this review, but when I sent an e-mail to the address they provided, nobody responded.

Yelp
What a horrible experience, we ordered the vegetable tempura... well, it's not tempura, more like vegetables deep fried in beer batter! Over fried spring rolls. Save your money and eat elsewhere

Yelp
The food overall was pretty tasty, I'm lactose intolerant and got the cheese pretzel and haven't found myself on the throne (yet). The service was very quick and kind, they even offered to-go waters, unusual, but I really liked the gesture.

Yelp
I had lunch here before leaving the GSR. I was seated right away at my own table. The server promptly brought me water and took my order. I had the Chicken Caesar wrap with sweet potato fries. The food was brought out quickly; it was nice and hot. The food was average at best but it met my expectations. The wrap was pretty good. The fries were okay. They were definitely the frozen kind. The price was $18, which was within the realm of normal for a casino restaurant. I was happy with my meal and the service.
