"Hailing from Yilan County, head chef Chen has almost 40 years of experience both at home and abroad, specialising in refined home-style Taiwanese cooking that boasts intricate details and modern twists. His signature dish stewed of Chinese cabbage with fish skin is topped with a fried crunchy garnish made with duck eggs from Yilan; while the honey mustard-glazed ribs exude a hint of tangy fruitiness thanks to black jujube dates in the sauce." - Michelin Inspector

This hotel has absolutely gorgeous rooms, very comfortable with great bathrooms. The air conditioning works well, beds are large and comfortable and the smart TVs are good. ||Unfortunately the service is not five star, the bar is shut on Sundays - we were looking forward to a drink and people watching and told the only option was room service. The room service menu is limited and the staff aren’t inclined to solve problems.||It’s a shame that two blocks over the Marriott is everything this hotel is not and, much as I’d like to stay here again, I’d definitely stay at the Marriott the next time.

I had to cancel my hotel reservation due to the earthquake that hit Taiwan. My flight was scheduled the day of the earthquake and I could not fly into Taipei. I contacted the hotel to advise of the situation. As a 5-star hotel, I would have assumed they would have either waived their cancellation fee or made an attempt to find a solution given the unfortunate circumstances. Instead, this hotel decided to charge me a $700 (U.S. dollars) cancel fee. For those of you trying to decide if this hotel is right for you, I’d strongly advise against it. Read all of the 1-star reviews the hotel has and book elsewhere. Taipei has lots of options. I’ve stayed in several high end hotels in Taipei and wanted to give this hotel a try. It was definitely the wrong decision. Be careful booking here because all of the 1-star reviews describing the terrible customer service are spot on. I’m looking forward to the generic response that this review will probably get from the hotel thanking me for my feedback and valuing my opinion. I’m sure there will be a “sincere apology.” Pretty easy to offer empty words and apologies after money was already collected.

I was positively surprised when entering my room. It was huge, and outstanding. large bathroom, excellent bed, I slept perfectly. And even an Earthquake woke me up but the building itself seemed to protect me, I never felt to be in danger. Breakfeast was outstanding.

This hotel is nothing less than five stars! My family and I had an amazing time here; this hotel is the absolute best. ||The location is perfect. It is between two train stations and Ubikes on every corner, or they will get you a cab. I cannot stress enough how the Grand Mayfull has the absolute best staff.||If I ever return to Taipei, or if anyone asks me for recommendations, without hesitation, I would say the Grand Mayfull Hotel.||Their breakfast and dinner are nothing short of amazing - I could not have picked a better hotel.

Came here for a staycation with the kids during the weekday. The staff was nice, and helpful! The hotel feels very 'grand' with generously sized rooms. My kids loved running around in the room and hanging out in the balcony overlooking the pool. My only complaint was that the kids play area was closed.

We stayed here in October 2023. We did not have any real expectations ahead of our stay - but were completely blown away with this place. ||The hotel really is Grand from the moment you approach it. Staff are super friendly and check in was an ease. Good selection at breakfast and the hotel itself is situated in a convenient location. ||We are frequent guests at the Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton hotels and the rooms, service and infrastructure here was on par. We would highly recommend the Grand Mayfull.

This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at. It wasn't the obvious choice (at least to us) when looking for somewhere to stay in Taipei, but we are so glad we found this place. Exceeded all expectations. Rooms are really nice, comfortable bed, staff are friendly. Would recommend!

Beautiful room with the most luxurious products. 5 stars for cleaning and attentions to details. Breakfast buffet is just a bit above average, not as great as expected especially the staffs require more training. Need to mirror phone to watch Netflix/youtube.

Yelp
We had a great time staying at Grand Mayfull for part of our Taiwan trip. Location may be a bit out of the way depending on your itinerary, but we had no issues given the efficient public transportation and affordable taxis. Rooms are very spacious and the breakfast is fantastic with a great variety of options each morning (eggs, bacon, sausage, veggies, soup, ramen, congee, dim sum, pastries, salad, fruit, etc.). I LOVE their mentaiko bread and their croissants are some of the best croissants I've ever had.

Yelp
Topnotch hotel in 大直!Just experienced one of the greatest wedding lunch. Impeccable service. Well deserved a five star rating. Will come back again to check out their other offerings, including staying in their above average priced rooms.

Yelp
This was our 6th stay at the Grand Mayfull Hotel in Taipei! Although we noticed a few changes due to budget cuts, our overall experience was still magnificent. Housekeeping is available every day and the cleaning staff had very good understanding of basic English. The Taipei Times was delivered to us every single morning, too! The snacks have improved with healthier choices that are replaced every day along with a variety of drinks and bottled water. Their buffets are absolutely phenomenal with chefs at every station. We were most impressed that they responded to previous feedback that we provided from our previous stays. A lifeguard is always present even if there's only one swimmer in their temperature regulated pool. The gym and showers are clean and up-to-date with personal amenities available. Swimming caps are required by law to enter the swimming pool so be prepared to bring your own. The staff is excellent! They are polite, try to be as helpful as possible and will greet you upon entering or leaving the hotel. Security is excellent!

Yelp
I have stayed in this great hotel twice in the past year and the have to remark that everything is well done in this hotel. The rooms are huge, the bathrooms are gorgeous, the mens spa rooms are awesome. The hotel is about 5 blocks from the MRT so you can quickly get into the city fast. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I never write reviews for hotels, but Grand Mayfull Hotel Taipei exceeded every bit of my expectations for a 5 star hotel! From the moment you step foot out you are greeted with the utmost respect and cander. From the busboy to the hotel check in staff. Every one met every point of excellence in customer service. Although this hotel is about 15 minutes away from all the major attractions and places to see, it is still worth it. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this hotel. This will be the only hotel I stay at whenever I visit taiwan again.

Yelp
I really liked this hotel. Accommodating and beautiful in every way. When entering, you'll be greeted and someone always opens the door for you. They had their Christmas tree still up for photo ops between two beautiful staircases. The reception is on the left when you enter and they speak English too so it was helpful. We were able to store our luggage there until check-in time and was amazed by our room when entered. Updated technology for the lighting and curtains, Japanese toilets with seat warmers, beautiful shower and bathtub and cute closet space. I would totally stay here again since it was only a 10 min or less drive to another location in Taipei. Quiet spot without too many tourists roaming around.

Yelp
Unapologetic staff and the manager Edward Tsai made things even worse. It makes me sad to write this review since I travel to this area often. I was hoping to treat this hotel as my second home while staying in Taipei. I stayed at Grand Mayfull in late January 2019. I got my first room #725 and saw something on the carpet that looked like it was sperm. I was disgusted so I asked to change rooms and they moved me to the room on the 8th floor no problem. My husband and I enjoyed the second room we stayed in and were happy. Feb. 2019, I booked this hotel again for my second trip. As soon as I got in the room I realized, oh no! it was the same room #725 where I saw the sperm on the carpet. I flew in that night from California and the jet lag made me so tired all I wanted to do was relax. I had no energy to change the room at that point so I went to bed. I tried not to worry about what I saw last time but I found myself very uncomfortable. I had a hard time sleeping so I decided to change the room. I was just not to going to be comfortable in that room so I called the front desk at around 5 AM to change rooms. The guy at the front desk I spoke with was very nice about it and said he would have someone bring me the new room key. The Manager on duty, Edward Tsai, brought me the new room key to me. Edward Tsai was the worst manager I have ever encountered in my life. I will never understand how he got hired to work at a 5-star hotel. When he arrived he asked me why I wanted to change the room. It was very annoying that I had to explain again why I wanted to move to another room. Even more, he asked me if I saw something dirty and what kind of dirty thing was it? I told him about the sperm I saw last month. He went on to ask, is it invisible to the eye or not? (I was born in Taipei, Taiwan) I know what he meant, even though he did not say the word: Ghost. I felt insulted and mocked by him. He said: it's not normal to change the room at this hour. I said: OK. Forget about this. I do not need to change the room now. I will talk to your manager. He said: I am the manager. I said: So what are we going to do? Change the room or not? He said: OK. Let me show you the new room. He showed me the new room and I told him I would take the room. He then said: You know what, you have used two rooms a day that is not right. Are you serious?!!!!!! He actually said that to me! I am still in shock. How could you be so bad to your customer? What do you lose to get me to another room??? No one has apologized! The manager was a true nightmare.

Yelp
Most amazing hotel I've ever stayed at in Taiwan, possibly Asia. Amazing restaurants and impeccable staff. Thanks for an incredible stay.

Yelp
The only reason I didn't give this hotel a five star rating was because of its location. It's in New Taipei, and there just isn't too much going on in the area where the hotel is situated. It's pretty close to the mall with the Ferris wheel and some restaurants, but none of them were really noteworthy, and neither were the mall and shops on the street. Otherwise, this is a terrific hotel with huge rooms and all the amenities one could ask for including a great breakfast buffet, swimming pool and fitness center. Service was always polite and helpful. We paid $235 US per night in March, and all I can say is that if this had been in Hong Kong, you would need to add another $200 - $300 to the daily room rate. Very new and maintained perfectly.
