7 Best Farmers Markets in Dallas | Eater

"Grand Prairie’s farmers market is held weekly on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the city’s Market Square. Designed to look like a red barn with a corrugated tin roof (fitting for the region), the pavilion houses vendors selling everything from produce to honey to fresh pasta, all grown or made within a 150-mile radius. One of the most popular items? El Paco’s Mexican-style corn chips and homemade salsas produced in nearby Arlington from corn that’s grown locally. If you simply can’t get enough salsa in your life, the market also holds an annual Downtown Salsa Showdown, where individuals and businesses alike compete for the title of Salsa Showdown Champion." - Vox Creative

Cute market, lots of friendly vendors. Spacious & not overcrowded with plenty of room to talk around without bumping elbows. Some vendors are under a building, while others have their pop up tents. Great path to walk. A bit small, but not a complaint, wonderful shops but you'll go through them all quickly. Parking in the back, literally a few steps away. There's a little bit of everything here & something for everyone! I'll definitely be back!

I have visited this delightful little marketplace a few times and love it. It is open every other Saturday. Be prepared to get offered samples from the food vendors. There are a diverse assortment of items to choose from amongst the many vendors - from arts & crafts to clothing to jewelry, and much more. You won't be disappointed. Stop by the leather craft table and ask for Paul (that's me). Update: April 6, 2024 Mayor's 5K Run coincided with our first day of the new year, so there was more foot traffic than I've ever seen there. Personally, I had my best day ever as a leather craft vendor. This is my first season and I'll be there every Saturday through the end of the year. Update: May 18, 2024 The weather has been cooperating and the public has been in attendance. Making friends, have repeat customers, and even a great referral project from a satisfied client.

Very cute area. We got there at 8:30 and it was barley set up. So we sat and chit chatted for a bit. Then we got some tacos. These tacos were fantastic. The hot sauce is hot, like they warned us, but nonetheless the great. There happened to be a parade and it was cute and fun to watch. They didn’t have any fresh produce available. I also looked at other reviews and saw all these food vendors that weren’t there today. I wish they were there as I was looking forward to trying all these foods. I still had a great time. It was nice to chill and watch the parade and talk to the vendors that were there. Great visit.

Away from the made rush of the freeway is this farmers market. Many vendors selling various things. Texas honey, handmade items, produce, food vendors, and so much more. After shopping here we drove down the Main Street. It gave a real small town vibe that we appreciated. As you know it can get real intense being in the Big cities.

Coming from a smaller town where we thrive on the farmers market and their grown produce I was afraid not to find that in a bigger metroplex...but to my surprise Grand Prarie Farmers Market is the best around! Mansfields 2nd best Cottage And farmers Market!

Yelp
The food is always very tasty and lots of fresh vegetables and fruit! It has a great indoor/outdoor merchandise of handmade items that are very popular! There is usually or most of the time, some kind of entertainment on stage! A fun filled experience!

Yelp
The GP Farmers Market is a standout of the area. I visited recently and was surprised at the number of vendors given the small space. I appreciate the fact that there was ample parking available and everyone who greeted me was very friendly. I saw everything from personal care products to delicious foods and of course farm items. My strawberries rotted the next day after I left them out overnight, but my potatoes and onions are still in good form.

Yelp
What can I say always has a great selection at the best prices bar none!! I love getting my eggs from here no need to refrigerate, healthy and nutritious. Produce is second to none!

Yelp
I went to this market for the first time today. The young man w/ blonde hair at the produce table was finishing up with a customer and I was the only other person waiting. He never acknowledged me or said hi, he looked at me and proceeded to greet and assist other customers that began walking up. I said, "Hi, good morning! Do you guys accept debit?" It was only then that he finally said anything to me, and proceeded to pass me off to the other guy working with him so he could go back to helping the people that came after me. Very disappointed because the produce looked pretty good and I was looking forward to buying some fresh okra and fruit. I didn't even stay to go by any other vendors.

Yelp
I do love going to the farmers market. Grand Prairie has really stepped up their game on Main Street and it has become kinda a quaint little area to go on the weekends or for lunch hour if you are close enough to experience. There are some great looking vegtables everytime I go here along with some honey, coffee (bras bean) samples and olive oils, Barbecue and many, many more things to look at. They also have live music and special events at times. Last weekend there was a homemade ice cream competition and that is just perfect for the type of weather that is going on around these parts lately! So refreshing! It is clean and under covered spots or in a paviolion (like) thing. Not really cool but at least shaded. You have to check out this popular place in Grand Prairie. Every Saturday at 8am.

Yelp
It's a nice but very small farmers market. With Grand Prairie growing, hopefully the market will have more vendors to come.

Yelp
Small but nice selection of produce and small business products from salsas to tea to wreaths and jewelry... I loved the tea selections! Parking is readily available which is a plus!

Yelp
Cute littles farmers market. Not as big as I was expecting. They have a lot of farm fresh veggies. I loved the assortment of olive oils they have for sale and they also have some fresh handmade jams and jellies. The lady selling them was so sweet. She will even give you some samples so you can try before you buy.

Tamika M.

Yelp
All vendors were nice and friendly except for one. The couple that sells the vegetables. 2nd time coming and on both occasions neither one spoke or acknowledged me. The first time I was the only person standing there and had to ask for some okra. The 2nd time he told the young man with them to help me.( which the young man was nice) But when someone else walked up of a different race, I noticed the older man immediately go over to them. And the price was higher this time than last time. Not good business people.

Yelp
This farmers market is located in a very cute area of Grand Prairie with tons of parking. Even in August, there was a ton of fresh produce. Watermelon, cantaloupe, onions, tomatoes, corn, giant carrots, and so much more. Most vendors have samples. Don't miss the fudge sample and the sausage samples! The Egyptian breads looked fantastic and we totally plan to get some next time. Tons of pastries and canned goods. There were about 14 booths and the hatch chile festival is next weekend. This is about as large as the grapevine farmers market.

Yelp
Quaint, friendly atmosphere, and perfect for the whole family. I love our little farmer's market!

Yelp
I love this quaint market for the community appeal. They rotate a few vendors occasionally so you get a good mix of varietal and stationary merchants. Often they have a special where if you purchase something you'll get a ticket for a free pumpkin or watermelon depending on what's seasonally available. Good mini pies on the end and adequate amount of produce and specialty items throughout. Defiantly worth the visit; there is a nice Italian restaurant and a good coffee shop within walking distance on Maine also.

Yelp
Quaint, farmers market that offered a bountiful selection of fruits and veggies as well as local. handmade goods and products. My family found everything from ripe peaches, honey, fudge, to essential oils, lotions and coffee. It was a fun 2 hr visit for us. Parking was easy, right on the street, 350 ft from the market. We'd visit again. Friendly people, live music, and free food.

Yelp
Small market. Didn't see a lot of fresh things. Just a lot of handy crafts and canned jellies or salsa. I didn't find it much of a "farmers market". Everyone was super nice though. I will go back just to see if any new vendors are there.

Yelp
Went off season? Dont know. But it was a big disappointment. Hardly anything to buy, and what they had was ten times the market value in price. Eastern market in Detroit is what I am use to. This place is so small if you blink you will pass it by. People always Texas friendly. Wish I could say something else positive. Will not make return trip.
