"Revamped from top to toe, this city-centre institution is still going strong under the aegis of a family team, namely three brothers – one in the dining room (an MOF), one in the kitchen and one is a pastry chef! The culinary lineup aims to highlight the gastronomic heritage of the Gers region: raw and cooked scallops; Bigorre black pork and leeks; duck and foie gras pie, sliced at the table; baked Alaska, flambéed in front of you! Foodies with an appetite will be delighted to learn that the sauce boats are left on the table – irresistible with the house made bread! Simpler fare at Le 9ème brasserie." - Michelin Inspector

Watched Superman in VIP on the Grand theater. $50 euros. Expensive but worth the one time experience. There was a huge line outside. With VIP, we got escorted in past the line, got popcorn and a drink that was included, and to our seats. The VIP is located on the 2nd floor and general admission is on the 3rd floor. The screen is big, but the sound is not as great as this theater was not meant for movies.

The studio tour is a great way to spend an hour in the back part of the theatre on this electronically guided tour. The technology is very clever and while the participation in making a movie is a little silly it is great fun and good for families.

An absolute must-visit in Paris! Le Grand Rex is a stunning historic cinema with breathtaking Art Deco architecture and an unforgettable atmosphere. The screen is massive, the sound quality is top-notch, and the overall experience is just magical. Whether you’re here for a blockbuster, a concert, or a special event, the ambiance is always incredible. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the seats are super comfortable. If you love cinema, this place is a dream come true. Highly recommended for an amazing night out in Paris!

Even the bathroom was pretty. We came for the movie because we stayed at a nearby airbnb. The interior caught us by surprise. It was impressively big, beautiful and the sound system was on point. Great experience. We admire the main theatre.

I had the incredible opportunity to watch the premiere show of Jurassic Park at the legendary Grand Rex in Paris, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. The cinema itself is iconic, with stunning architecture and an atmosphere that truly enhances the magic of cinema. The sound and picture quality were top-notch, and the massive screen made every scene of Jurassic Park even more thrilling. What stood out the most was the immersive ambiance – from the grand interior design to the perfectly organized premiere event, everything felt world-class. The staff were polite and helpful, and the entire venue was clean, comfortable, and well-managed. Watching a classic like Jurassic Park in such a majestic setting was a dream come true. I highly recommend Grand Rex to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable movie experience in Paris.

I went here in June of 2024 for the Sonic Symphony, being one of the few locations in Europe. It's an incredibly beautiful venue and the Concert Hall was also very decorated and grand. It is connected directly to the metro which makes it very convenient for coming from other places of Paris. Audio controls worked very well and it wasn't overbearingly loud for what it was (the 2nd half of the concert is very rock-based). Seats were mostly comfortable although I was mostly standing up for the duration of the concert. For events and concerts of this scale, the place works really well and I ended up liking it. Recommend it!

The Grand Rex, located in Paris, France, is one of Europe’s most iconic and largest cinemas, celebrated for its Art Deco architecture and rich history. Opened in 1932, it was designed to resemble a Mediterranean courtyard, complete with twinkling stars and clouds projected onto the ceiling, creating a magical atmosphere. The theatre’s main auditorium can accommodate over 2,700 guests, making it one of the largest cinema halls in Europe. Known for its grandeur, The Grand Rex hosts film premieres, live performances, concerts, and special events. Its annual **Féerie des Eaux** show, featuring a spectacular water and light display, is a beloved tradition. The Grand Rex also houses the Rex Studios, an interactive exhibit offering behind-the-scenes insights into film production. As a cultural and cinematic landmark, The Grand Rex continues to captivate audiences with its timeless charm and unforgettable experiences.

Yelp
The popcorn was unusually good, for a French cinema, the service was adequate and the ambiance was magical. I was overwhelmed by the Rex's history as a 2800 seat propaganda center during the German occupation of Paris and later as a POW facility. Knowing its history made it difficult to watch The Fall Guy The facility is almost a hundred years old and it feels it. The seats are old, small, and uncomfortable. In its proper context, I'm sure it was magical in its day. It is a one time experience.

Yelp
Unfortunately a concert pushed films to the smaller cinemas.. Cinema 2 still very nice, old seats, nice medium sized screen. Will try the main venue later this week. Attractive exterior.

Yelp
Hands down, the best place to see a movie in Paris that I've been to so far. If you're in the grande salle, you have a starry night above you, amazing decoration around you, and tons of room as it is a huge huge huge space. The screen they pull down is humongous, so sit somewhere in the middle or your eyes will be switching back and forth. ;) You can order tickets online beforehand, around 11 euros/adult.

Yelp
The appropriately-named Grand Rex is a lot of things. Here at 1 Poissoniere it's a grand old theatre, holding a couple of thousand seats for watching concerts. It's also got screens for films. Just a few steps down the road, at number 5, there's also a nightclub (http://www.qype.co.uk/place/80658-Rex-Club-Paris) . And a little farther down is a bar (http://www.qype.co.uk/place/preview/fr-796384-rex-bar-le-paris) . But the theatre is beautiful. Holding about 3000 people in several steep tiers, it's plush, old, and ornate. North African frescos cover both side walls. The ceiling, high above, is deep azure with a few starry pinpricks of light. The stage looks like thousands of combined years of struggling showbiz have strode across them. It's old, but that feels right. There are escalators to take you to the upper levels, and bars on each level. I've just come back from seeing Tom Waits play the Grand Rex, so perhaps I'm still feeling the effects. But I get the feeling that this rich, velvet, burgundy old hall gives a little magic to whomever plays there.

Yelp
One of the best known and loved in Paris, the Rex is truly a Deco palace with chandeliers, sumptuous armchairs and even faux castles (really). When you visit, you must walk up to the screen and look back into the huge theatre itself. With so many seats to fill, the program is necessarily mainstream and always VF. This is the place to go to watch a home-grown action-adventure film (surely a new Banlieue 13 is due out soon!)
