Granger & Co. King’s Cross - Review - Kings Cross - London - The Infatuation

"Granger and Co. runs three Australian restaurants in London, and the Kings Cross location is their third Location. The menu’s the same as at the other two venues, and it’s full of the kind of fresh salads, sandwiches, small plates and main dishes that you’d find at a cool cafe in Sydney - think shrimp burgers, ricotta hotcakes, and plenty of stuff with avocado. Their ‘bowls’ and sandwiches are the best lunches, while at dinner we like to put a meal together from small plates and salads. None of it is exactly cheap, but the food’s consistently good. And the wine list starts at prices that are very reasonable for the area." - Richard Ehrlich

The 18 Best Gluten-Free Restaurants In London

"First off, props to Granger & Co for having one of the most thorough allergen menus of all time. We salute this behaviour and more importantly, we salute how tasty the brunch options are at this Aussie spot in King’s Cross. As well as your egg and avocado classics, it serves things like pumpkin seed granola with shiso compote, coconut chicken salad with nashi pear, and gluten-free bread. Freshly squeezed OJ and Allpress coffee encouraged. " - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna

5 Of The Best Lunch Spots In King’s Cross

"Perfect for: a perfectly nice light lunch that’s a two minute walk from the station. Sometimes you just want something safe. And this all-day Australian cafe is consistently safe. In fact it’s never let us down. The third of four London locations, the menu at their Pancras Square branch is full of fresh salads and bowls. For a lunch situation we’d stick to the small plates and bowls, and those ricotta hotcakes. It’s not cheap, but it’s a proper sit-down lunch and if you do it right you can probably keep it to under £15." - rianne shlebak

We frequent the Japanese branch of Bill's a lot and it's famous for its Ricotta Pancakes. We haven't had it since before covid and was very happy to find out there was a London branch of Bill's with almost same menu and decor. We visited on a Saturday early afternoon with wife and two kids really looking forward to this. Ordered the following - Chicken Schnitzel, this was very disappointing. For £26.5 I expect at least the chicken to be nice, juicy and tender but it was dry and barely any seasoning (subjective) it really needed the large lemon squeezed over it to give it some flavour. - Kids burger, for £15 was pretty bad as well. The patty was overcooked and very dry. It was only when my kid stopped eating to say it hurt his throat that I was made aware but he'd already eaten most of it. So couldn't couldn't tell the staff. - Kids pasta. This was OK. - Scrambled egg and Bread. This was OK. - Ricotta Pancake. This was the biggest disappointment. It was hard, not soft and fluffy. In Japan they always tell us it takes 20 minutes and when we would like it, so it comes out nice and fresh ready to be demolished. Here it just came out with with the rest of the dishes. This review is comparing to good memories of the Bill's that we had in Japan, so it could be a little unfair with our high expectations. It might of been a off day for the London Kings Cross branch. If I had never been to Japanese branch then the worse thing was the dry burger and the bad value chicken schnitzel. Service was good as expected.

The place is fine but the value for money is low. The vegetable chips as the starter were good. The taramasalata on bread was exceptionally good. The other starters were just ok. The trout as the main was below my expectations - it was just soaked in soy sauce which made it extremely salty. Also it was not as tender as it should. They like adding coriander everywhere which looked weird. The chocolate mousse was pretty good. The staff were not super attentive or welcoming but did the job. The atmosphere was great through and the place is nicely decorated

Good food and very welcoming service. Big thanks to the host and the waiting staff for accommodating us during a busy bank holiday lunchtime. We had the Bills Chopped salad with an add on chicken. It was an unusual mix of ingredients but all very fresh and going well together. We also appreciated a good range of non alcoholic drinks. I had the botivo spritz and it was great.

Faultless. Impeccable service, delicious food and a great Aperol. The prawn linguine and burger were particularly good! Note we didn’t have a reservation but were able to walk in for a table of 2 at 7pm on a Thursday no problems.

Third time visiting Granger & Co. and I’m disappointed to say that the quality has deceased drastically since my previous visit in 2023. The restaurant was a little busy on a Sunday afternoon but that did not justify the slow service or dismissiveness of waiters, considering how we had to wait 15minute for tap water and another 15minute just for anyone to take our order. FOOD REVIEW: Fresh Aussie - 3.5/5⭐️ Simple but well balanced dish. Nicely seasoned seasonal greens that was served piping hot alongside deliciously sweet cherry tomatoes, savoury smoked gravlax, and 2 unfortunately overcooked, tasteless poached eggs. Every element in this dish worked well hand in hand, but it certainly wasn’t anything revolutionary or mind blowing flavour-wise. Ricotta hotcakes, fresh banana and honeycomb butter - 1.5/5⭐️ Utter disappointment. Not quite sure whether I was unlucky or anything but this pancake was so dense, rubbery, flavourless, and obviously overcooked - a huge downgrade compared to the last time I visited. The hotcakes lacked the airy texture that this dish was known for, and unfortunately even with both the syrup and honeycomb butter, it was just extremely dry. What a shame. FOOD: 1.5/5⭐️ SERVICE: 2/5⭐️ ATMOSPHERE: 3/5⭐️ OVERALL: 2/5⭐️

I had such a lovely time having a nice solo celebratory drink. Gee made my evening even more memorable when we started discussing my favourite car that turned out to be his, too. Such a kind, gentle, interesting soul he is. Huge thank you for making it mire memorable for me!

Have been wanting to visit here for years but usually tried on Saturdays which are just so busy so I was thrilled to be able to stop by during lunchtime on a Tuesday as I was lucky enough to find a spot :) It’s a lovely bustling restaurant and they were so accommodating to find a great table for me and my little one in his pram. I ordered the ricotta pancakes (with added bacon for good measure) and everything was so delicious! I was absolutely stuffed at the end but just couldn’t stop eating it as it was so tasty. The service was excellent throughout and I can’t wait to visit again! Can’t recommend it enough.
