Grant’s Grill did the catering for our wedding, and it was fabulous!! The food not only tasted amazing, but the presentation was beautiful (see photos of the grazing table). They were easy to work with throughout the planning process and their service on the day of was superb. We love eating at the restaurant and are thrilled with how delicious the catering was.

We stopped in for drinks and desert on a Saturday evening. We were immediately greeted and told we could sit anywhere. We chose the bar seating so I could enjoy the decor. It is very cozy. Speak easy vibes with some local flavor added. We chose the Marionberry Lemonade and Creme Brulee. Both were excellent! Staff were friendly and courteous. It felt like everyone there were known, regulars or family just from the casual, easy conversations around us. A very nice cap to our evening.

I ordered a classic BLT w/over hard egg & fries...Great taste! Grilled buttered bread, tasty bacon and superb French fries. The fries are stake cut style with a light crunchy batter that makes them super tasty and they are hot. Highly recommend the French fries! Although it's a smaller place for a grill style restaurant food, I prefer a quieter place with better environment. Call for a reservation (not needed) or inquire of the capacity you wish to be there. Oh, bathrooms are decent, above average.

Randomly found this place when visiting and now we live here and I couldn't wait to go back. It's super cute, staff has always been friendly. Nice outdoor patio. We were greeted and seated promptly, ordered and food came hot and delicious.... again! Good bang for your buck. We will for sure come back here.

Google
This is a hole in the wall, not much of a dining area, but if you are lucky enough to get a table it's worth the wait! Great food, great drinks! The employees expected you to know what you are ordering (I need a menu bro) and they didn't have much of a personality, im from Texas, maybe i expect too much, but greet people when they walk in, ask how they are doing, thank them when they leave! They could work on that but otherwise the food was amazing!

Google
I've never had a bad experience here. The drinks are amazing, service is great. The food is always, always incredible. Highly recommend the salmon for dinner and the fish tacos for lunch. The jambalaya is just divine. You should probably get reservations as it's a smaller place. Also, the Sidecar two doors down is their bar, and it's worth going there for a nightcap. I assure you, it's a trip worth your time.

2 weeks ago wife and I stopped by for lunch. I knew the Grant's burger was the best. So she got the burger and I got the carnitas tacos. Great flavor plenty of food. Love this grill. Reviewers please this is a neighborhood grill not a restaurant. Perfect for a drink or a beer and great food. Don't think you're going to order shrimp and lobster with chicken fettuccine. Enjoy what it has to offer, and you'll be satisfied.

Yelp
Grants has been on my "must visit" list for quite some time. It looks pretty nondescript from the outside, but once you turn the corner to go through the front door, you're welcomed by a cute patio area with a living wall. Inside is filled with small wood tables and a bar with rustic charm. We were immediately greeted and were able to choose a table. I had made reservations, though it wasn't necessary. However, this is a very small location and in the past, I couldn't get in due to the space limitations, so I would strongly suggest reservations. My friend ordered the grilled chicken burger (bacon add) and since I'm obsessed with ordering a bleu cheese hamburger every place I go, so it was the Big Bleu for me (add bacon). We both ordered fries, with a side of ranch and fry sauce. Food came out much quicker than I expected. The Big Bleu comes with a 1/2 lb brisket burger with Castello Bleu Cheese, Onion Rings and Red Onion Marmalade. Now I love onions, a lot, but the marmalade had an overpowering tang to it that drowned out the bleu cheese entirely. The onion ring (didn't seem like "rings") was squishy and almost felt like an afterthought. The burger patty was perfectly medium and juicy, bun was buttery toasted. The fries were nicely battered, though I would have preferred a few more than what was served. The ranch dressing was delicious but the fry sauce in the blander side. My friend loved her grilled chicken burger, but she purposely had the tarragon aioli on the side. She was not the biggest fan of the aioli. Service was well paced, friendly and attentive though there were only 2 servers for a 3/4th full place. I wouldn't mind at all trying again, just not the bleu burger. Overall, I would give Grants a 3.5 but service bumped it up to a 4. I keep hearing that the weekend brunch is a must do, so that will hopefully be my next try.

Yelp
They catered our son's wedding this past weekend. They were prompt in getting at the venue. They set up the buffet table elegantly. The newly weds wanted something casual so they opted for a taco bar. Chicken and beef tacos were served with rice, beans, and pico de gallo. The guests were from CA and TX and everyone loved the tacos!!! They were very easy to work with. The bride and groom were very happy with the food and mother in law approved!

Yelp
Driven past here often but remembered about it when we needed to meet for dinner. Smaller restaurant but food was delicious! Lettuce wraps were delicious. When I see them on a menu I always want to try them! My husband had the short rib that was offered that night and wasn't on the menu. He loved it! We will be back!

Yelp
Great service and delicious food. They offer clam chowder which was AMAZING. Nice ambiance as well as inviting outdoor seating is available.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. I appreciate their use of tallow for frying. Will definitely make Grants a habit when in town!

Yelp
Love this little gem in Meridian. Food & staff are phenomenal. Indoor & outdoor seating available. Atmosphere is chill and laid back. Love meeting friends for lunch or evening cocktails. Prices are great too!!

Yelp
Cute neighborhood little place! Great menu. Good local beers and wine choices. Tempura green beans were delicious. Friendly staff.

Yelp
Just a really great find. It is in a strip mall in Meridian. The service was good and the food was terrific. Fries were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. I had fish and chips and D had prime rib dip. We were both very impressed. I especially liked that the food was brought out piping hot. Good beer, wine and cocktail list, also. Will go back!

Yelp
Food was great last time we ate there. However, we had a new server and she was struggling with all her tables. She was trying not her fault but food sat up to be delivered for 15 minutes. Someone should have helped her
google avatar

Yelp
This place cares about making tasty food. The burgers are outstanding, tempura green beans are a family favorite, stroganoff, steak, sandwiches... they just do all of it right. Any fried food is now fried in tallow. This place is a hidden gem.

Yelp
Tucked away in a strip mall in Meridian, Idaho, Grant's Restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside. The first time I pulled up, I was less than impressed by the exterior or the hokey outdoor seating area. But stepping inside was another story. The cozy interior--complete with a roll-up glass garage door leading to the patio--puts off a casual, yet somehow upscale, vibe. The small space, with less than ten tables indoors, was very intimate. Patio seating, fitted with heaters, blankets, and pillows, was excellent, even though we had to contend with pesky flies. Otherwise, the atmosphere felt very inviting, having this great little community-bar type of feel. The service for me at Grant's has been up and down. On one visit, we had an absolute gem of a server whose attentiveness and friendly demeanor made the meal much more enjoyable. The other time, things got off to a slow start. We were missed before another server finally stepped in and salvaged the night with top-notch service. Not all servers hit the mark; some seemed indifferent or just not very attentive. Even with these inconsistencies, the staff does come off as genuine and friendly, making up for the occasional lapse in service. The food is generally fantastic at Grant's. I have had some standout dishes, like the chicken sandwich and the mushroom burger. The fries were tasty and crisp. A creative and flavorful tempura green bean app and a veggie burger on pretzel rolls were just some well-thought-out dishes that expressed a commitment to fresh, farm-to-table ingredients. Of course, not everything worked out perfectly: some dishes were way too salty, as with the quail, and a few of the sweets, like flourless chocolate cake, were overbaked. There's a great selection of drinks here, from custom cocktails to loads of beers; some cocktails fell a bit flat, though. Grant's Restaurant will give you a unique dining experience, from the ambiance to the friendly staff and the well-balanced menu of creative dishes and comfort food masterpieces. There are still areas for improvement, particularly in service consistency and seasoning. Still, I was greeted with an overall positive dining experience. Grant's fits the bill if you're looking for a local restaurant with a nice ambiance and good food.

Yelp
Hidden gem! Be prepared to wait if you show up during rush hour but it will definitely be worth the wait. We tried a little bit of everything and allllll was 10/10. Super cute inside and out. Parking is limited. Onion soup: 10/10 Tempura green beans: 10/10 Cubano sandwich: 10/10 Cesar salad: 10/10

Yelp
We have been here twice; so far so good! The burgers and fries are great with good flavor. I saw a guy eating a steak and it looked really good. We will have to try that one of the next times we visit!

Yelp
We just had the most wonderful dinner here. I have had a rough day and all I wanted was a chicken sandwich and some fries with a salad. THIS. PLACE. DELIVERED. Well no, we ate there and can't wait to come back. First of all, we had the pleasure of having Abbie as our waitress. She's the brightest light! What an absolute gem. I had the chicken sandwich which was A++++ and the fries are SO good. My husband had the mushroom burger. Both plates were clean at the end. This place is a must try. Thank you Abbie and the wonderful chefs! Exactly what the doctor ordered to make my day better!

Yelp
Cool little restaurant at the end of a strip mall. Love the roll-up glass garage door to the patio. Service was friendly and nice. Came at opening for lunch and the server/bartender made me a custom vodka based cocktail. He even put the excess in a little shot glass. Burger was great. The flavor of the mix of meats makes this burger. Looking forward to trying some of their other types of burgers. Chicken sandwhich caprese style was excellent. Being a fry snob made me just want more of these on my plate! Will be back and also to try their Sidecar car in the same strip mall (same menu).

Yelp
Onion rings are amazing. Good quality over all was very good and reasonably priced! Will return.

Yelp
Been here a number of times for lunch. Atmosphere is perfect for having a great meal in a quaint and comfy space that offers patio dining and bar seating along with table dining. IMO they have the best burgers in southern Idaho. Seriously, their fresh ground brisket burgers are to die for and when we are in the area, we always stop by to have them. When you add great beers on tap, its hard to say no to this place. Normally, we are only around for lunch, but tonight we had an appointment in the area and were able to visit for their dinner entrees. I had the pork chop and my wife had their chicken piccatta. Okay, so my favorite pork chop in Idaho is at Brick 29 in Nampa. Its my go to whenever we dine there. The pork is amazing, although the sauce and sides won't knock your socks off. But I've been hearing about Grant's pork chop and being there at dinner time, I had to try it. OMG. So not only was the cook of the chop nailed, it was perfectly seasoned and savory, lightly brushed with their own BBQ sauce and the side of Elote and the cactus salsa was way too good to be true. Hands down better than Brick 29 and for the price, probably the best pork chop in the region. They also switch up the preparation of their entrees over time so I can't wait to try their next iteration. My wife loved her Chicken Piccatta. The flavors were on point, the chicken tender and well seasoned. Both entrees had a creamy mashed potato base that was perfect. We both shared their Caesar Salad which has a jalapeno Caesar dressing that is perfect. Has just a slight heat and freshness that elevates the standard Caesar salad. Even their desserts, a creme brulee and cheesecake, were really good. You don't always expect the desserts to be up the same standard, but these were perfect after the meal. Our waitress was Chasey who works the evening shifts and was very nice and engaging and gave us enough time to ask questions and pick the perfect options. She is quite an asset there, but everyone is nice and the service is great. They also had Boont Amber Ale on tap which is a favorite of mine and is a hard find here in Idaho. Anyway, point being, try Grant's Neighborhood Grill. Aside from supporting local small businesses which we always try to do, they really have figured out how to put out some excellent food for what is a small place at the end of a parking lot. Great atmosphere, service and food. This place is a true gem and you have to check it out!

Yelp
Brought the wife and teens for her birthday dinner. It was a good experience and we'll be back to try other things on the menu. We sat on the patio and very much enjoyed the warmest evening so far this year without feeling disconnected from the restaurant and staff service. Pictured is the locally-sourced NY strip requested rare. Nailed it, and it still had a nice outside sear. Steak knife was not very effective so it took a bit of effort to cut off the gristle line and fat cap from the meat. The sauce had good flavor but I had to remove a bunch of the peppercorns because it was just too much to crunch through and swallow. Potatoes had a nice, firm but smooth texture with a light butter and garlic undertone. Nothing needed. Veg is rotated seasonally, landing on asparagus while we were there. Disappointed with a very lean 3-count. If I'm working on a chunk of beef, I prefer more veggies for balance. The stuffed piquillo peppers showed up at a curiosity (missed taking a photo). I was visualizing a half-shell configuration, but they came with the cap cut off and upside down like red safety cones. Mild, good flavor without any spiciness. My wife said she liked the beef stroganoff. I don't eat that food. And our teens were able to find something they liked. One went with the Royale with cheese (add bacon) and the other deep fried shrimp. I tried the burger's fries, which had a really tasty coating on them. The cocktail sauce for the shrimp had an aggressive amount of horseradish in it, so be warned.

Yelp
Really good turkey club. Cute and cozy ambiance good for 2-4 people. Nice outdoor patio with plants and flowers. Coacktails were OK... not great.

Yelp
Nice lil diner/bar the vibe isn't to crazy. Toke my 2year old autistic son and he wasn't bothered by the loudness. Food was amazing. Our server was always helpful

Yelp
I had the blue burger and it was outstanding. One of the best burgers I have ever had. My husband had the bistro tender it was amazing as well. We highly recommend anyone try this local spot.

Yelp
Good burgers. Very small place with little seating. Food smell was all over my clothes after I left, even had to wash my coat. Lack of filters/exhaust??? Maybe I would go again if I can eat outside on the patio in good weather.
google avatar

Julie H.

Yelp
Food was incredible I love the smaller menu. You can tell that they take their time in preparing it. Our server Riley was super friendly and attentive. Make sure he's your waiter. The restaurant is small but over all has a great family ambiance and you can also sit outside

Yelp
First time here, ... VERY DISAPPOINTING Where to begin... the place was filled with flies, no air movement, HOT as F**** It took almost an hour to make 2 burgers and pasta The food was below average, but the price was insane. $10 for a lemon drop martini The burgers were average, The pasta was similar to hamburger helper. The bill was over $80 for 3 people At no time did anyone offer us a refill on drinks. We had to ask for more water. The menu had a mis spelling of a common word. When I questioned the waitress, she acted as if she didn't know if the word was misspelled... This place is not a place I'd ever recommend and not sure how it has 4 stars .... a waist of money and time, typical though for Idaho, This same meal at Texas Roadhouse would've been no more than $50 with better food and environment. Save your money, go eat at Burger King!

Mike G.

Yelp
What a great little place! Food was delicious, service great, full bar with best old fashioned I've had in Boise Area!
google avatar

Yelp
As a visitor I know all about how Idaho is famous for potatoes, but Grant's should be famous for what it does with potatoes. Those were the best D*** fries I have had in years! When fries are still good even when you take too long to eat the fantastic burger, and they get cold....those are GOOD fries. My friend had the fish tacos and she said they were excellent, too. The patio was a very pleasant place to eat Next time I'm in the Boise/Meridian/Nampa area I will go out of my way to make sure I visit this place again, I'm already looking forward to it.

Christi T.

Yelp
My first ever terrible experience at this restaurant. I walked in the door at the same time three other people did. The lady behind the bar, seated the person in front of me at a table and told me that even though I had another person coming, I would have to sit at the bar even though there were three visibly empty tables. There was a customer by the door yelling at the people behind me to shut the door, even though there was nowhere for us to move because the person in front of me wouldn't move. When I finally sat at the bar, I was hit in the back three times by the waitress walking behind me. I never did get my order taken so I left.

Yelp
My husband and I ventured to Grants Neighborhood Grill today solely based on the great Yelp Reviews. We elected to sit at the bar and Michael took awesome care of us. I enjoy it when your undecided about a new beer and they are willing to give you a sample to make sure your going to like it. That's great service in my book. My husband had the Bleu Burger and I had the fish tacos. My husband likes his meat a little on the rare side and they cooked it spot on. My fish tacos were excellent. We decided to make Mother's Day reservations when we were there to do there brunch that they have on Sundays from 10am to 1:00pm. I'm looking forward to that.

Christian L.

Yelp
Amazing food! Best Ribeye I've ever had! I'd also like to shout Gabe out while the restaurant was completely full he had to turn away a guest for not having seating. While most restaurants would just have you wait around Gabe wrote down the guest phone number and called them to come back AND saved the table for them until they arrived! Gabe I just want you know you're a rockstar!

Yelp
Grants has been on our try list for awhile and we finally made a visit for dinner. We made an early reservation for 4:30pm - this is a super small place so I believe reservations are encouraged! We were seated and started with a couple drinks and we both ordered the grant burger. Burger was delicious! The burger to bun ratio was perfect! I also loved the fries - they were fresh and crispy. Grants did not disappoint and we will for sure return for a great burger and fries and to check out other items on the menu!

Yelp
Amazing steaks and presentation for phenomenal prices. Only downfall was that our food took an hour to arrive so plan dinner accordingly. The restaurant was very small, fitting under 10 tables indoors. In the interior was rather smoky given the poor ventilation but at least it was warm. Highly recommend calling in to reserve a table since the wait would be extremely long otherwise. We nabbed the last table for dinner but unfortunately the prime rib was sold out. My cocktail came out quickly but we weren't given our entrees until closing time. Thankfully they let us order dessert despite being past 9PM. =ORDERED= *Lilac Lychee Lemonade: subtle lychee flavoring but predominantly tasted like bitter lemonade. Disappointed with how plain it tasted as I expected more fragrance or fruitiness. *Bistro Tender: perfectly medium rare and tender as the name. A leaner cut but had excellent beefiness. Came with chimichurri sauce that added more moisture rather than garlicky parsley flavoring. Mashed potatoes were thick and buttery. The charred broccolini had some bite and the smokiness was stellar. Well balanced plate. *Ribeye: 14 oz with either a side of mashed potatoes or French fried. Came with a bit of charred broccolini and compound butter. Had a small strip of rendered fat and the steak was also cooked nicely medium rare. French fries were super crispy and seasoned well. The heftier plate and they definitely didn't skimp on the sides. *Creme Brulee: chilled custard with thick caramelized topping. Classic done well. Service was friendly enough although there was little to do when waiting for an hour for the food. I left stuffed and satisfied with my $28 steak. Would return although I would allot 2 hours for the meal. Cocktails were passable but the steaks are what made this restaurant special. Come to Grants cause they have the meats!

Yelp
We were lucky enough to find Grant's while we were in from out of town for a soccer weekend. I wish we lived there b/c we would be regulars! The Mahi tacos were some of the best tacos I can remember. The attention to detail is noticed amd the fish portion is fresh and the perfect size. Wife had the Royale w/ Cheese burger. It was delicious and the gluten free bun is one of the better that we have tasted. Kiddo had chicken tenders which were freshly made. The steak fries are wonderful as well. The staff was also as pleasant as can be. Highly recommend this spot!!

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place while I had family in town and WOW was I surprised. Adorable patio, great drinks, food is AMAZING and so reasonably priced. We have been back a few times now and have not been disappointed!

Yelp
Food is amazing, super cute patio in the summer and very charming inside. Service is always great

Yelp
Living in LA, I learned that some of the best restaurants are in strip malls. It's also true in Boise and Meridian. This unassuming spot near Meridian High is nudged between a nail salon and a craft cocktail speakeasy. Since I last had their burger more than a month ago, hardly a day goes by without thinking about it. Discipline keeps me from going more often, but I think every six weeks is practical. I recommend calling ahead for a reservation, but you may get lucky if you just go. Just go. Oh yeah... you can order from their menu at the speakeasy!

Kai H.

Yelp
Food was so gas. 10/10 came out quick and service was lovely. A little small when it comes to seating but overall very good experience!!!

Tim H.

Yelp
Beyond killer! I've been in three times and got the same order...Big Blue w/fries. Execution was flawless all three visits! These guys are serious "Old School"... quality ingredients and simple execution PERIOD! Another tell to me that had something going on even before the food arrived....check out the spices they are using. Red & White tubs/jars on the wall... Schreiber, CIA endorsed.

Joe L.

Yelp
Awesome food and service. Fries are very good. The burger is one of the best I've had. They make their burger out of brisket meat. Flavor is awesome. Plan on making a reservation. A must stop as it's good!!! Nice job to their staff.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE this hidden gem! Fabulous food & staff! Cocktails are amazing!!! I have never had a bad experience here!

Yelp
Amazing burgers! Love this place! A little expensive but I think it's worth it. I really like their fries as well. The mushroom and Swiss burger is my favorite.

Marc D.

Yelp
I believe they do farm the table, but the consistency and quality of the food is always great and even though it's a small bar, they do good tales. I would recommend this to anybody.

Yelp
In the land of strip mall heaven, you will find Grant's right there in Meridian on Cherry. From the get go, you will not be impressed when you pull up. They have a makeshift outdoor dining area that is better than it looks from the outside. Small inside eating area. Large bar with dining. And eating outside as before mentioned. They have a fairly basic menu, with what you would expect. The Chop and the Piccata as their standout plates. They have several cocktails that are 'specialties'. I dropped in with the wife as another place in Meridian was packed. We sat right down outside. They did have space inside if we wanted. Seemed a bit small inside. It was fairly comfortable outside, so we sat out there. Furnished with basic Target patio furniture with umbrella to keep the sun off you. Tons of flies on my visit, which was a turn off to say the least. There was quite a bit of food left of the ground around the other tables from bygone patrons that was probably the main attractant. My wife had a chicken burger ($16) and I went for the Chicken Piccata and a salad (sold separately). $26 for the Chicken, $13 for the salad (dinner sized). The food was surprisingly good. Chicken tender, sauce nice. We had drinks, but I don't remember the price but you are getting my point here. The lacking ambiance for the prices were a turn off for me. I have no remarks about the staff. No standouts. My advice: Put more work into the outdoor seating area, keep in cleaner, and get some fly spinner fans. I don't know what to say about the prices. I understand this crazy inflation, but I can pay the same price with a nicer ambiance. You may want to go more basic on the menu with lower price points. I don't know what to say, but $12 for a small salad is too much IMHO. Final words: The food was good, be prepared for high prices, and OK service. I think they can do better than OK, but I can't go 4 stars at this point. 3.5 Stars

Yelp
This was a surprise small restaurant with good food. Been for both lunch and dinner. Might be a hair pricey but it was good

Yelp
The food was decent. The outdoor patio space is beautiful, and I wish I got to sit out there. Love my view of the ominous hallway

Yelp
Tried to have a nice family dinner and try someplace new. Arrived 1 hour and 15 minutes before they closed. Plenty of open tables and we were turned away and told "we close soon" you can try the sidecar bar if you want. We had our 17 year old with us. We had no interest in dining in a bar. First and last time we will ever go there. Such a shame as we eat out a lot. We all felt like they looked at us and thought we were too poor to eat there. Th joke's on them I guess. I will take my hard earned money elsewhere.

Yelp
Been a couple of times. Have mixed reviews on the service. Our last visit we walked in and a server looked us up and down didn't even acknowledge us. We were sitting there for at least 10 minutes then that server yelled at another server sitting at the bar to help us. She came right over apologized and was amazing the whole night. Our server was Amy amazing job. I believe the other one was Keyanna. That time we got the wings burger with onion rings and a taco salad. The wings weren't as good as last time. The salad was good and the burger and onion rings were good too. The time before we got the club sandwich that was good too. The drinks are great

Yelp
5 star everything! Real chefs to give you that umami flavor even the little side salad was unique and amazing! Love this little meridian secret! I just wish they had a more private booth area for anniversary birthday. They are a must and I'd love to see them grow a smidge bigger. Just a smidge! Even the rooftop is fine because the location is superb.
