"For dinner in the area, Regan loves the Graycliff Restaurant, set inside the historical 18th century Graycliff Hotel. It’s '[an] extremely fancy and expensive meal with very old school service,' Regan says. 'They've been around for a very long time and have a massive wine cellar, which my wife loved.' While at Graycliff, Regan suggests checking out the 'water menu' that she describes as 'lots of sparkling waters to choose from, which I loved.'" - Marguerite Imbert

The only positive thing about this restaurant is the atmosphere. At the entrance, you are greeted by a rather rude and unfriendly man, which is not the best start to the experience. The truffle pasta was absolutely terrible, and the service did not meet expectations. On the bright side, the scallops were delicious, and the cocktails were well-made. Overall, I do not recommend visiting this place.

We had an extra day in port, so we scheduled an Afternoon Tea at Graycliff. Besides the tea, sweet and savories being excellent, the service was just as good. We totally enjoyed the Afternoon Tea in a great setting. I highly recommend the Graycliff for food or lodging.

High end, elegant restaurant in a beautiful setting. We started with Conch Chowder, which was good, but not better than any other we had on the island. Tuna tartar was very good, but again, not better than any other. We shared a snapper filet, which was delicious in a somewhat creamy sauce that did not inundate the dish. Caesar salad was disappointing; a little on the small side and typical of the Caesar in a nicer restaurant. Food was all good, but not transcendent. Service was excellent and the waitstaff attentive. Very much a special occasion place. A little bit of sticker shock from the prices; there wasn’t an aperitif we had that was less than $20. The entire dinner bill for 3 was $380, inclusive of tax and tip.

Huge disappointment. I have lived in the Bahamas for five years and had heard that today's Graycliff restaurant falls very short of its' storied history. Finally decided to go today and was flabbergasted to be served incredibly poor quality food, much worse than I had heard. The atmosphere however is great, like travelling to the grandeur of the 1930's. Tour the grounds as it is incredibly beautiful but DO NOT eat here. We started with the conch chowder, a super small serving that tasted exactly like canned tomato soup with rubbery conch and overcooked vegetables added. I ordered the Steak Frites.... the steak was rancid... YES RANCID, the cook would have known that they were serving spoiled meat simply by the colour and odour. I ate one small bite and immediately felt nauseous. I returned and cancelled the order as I could no longer eat at this point. My partner had the lobster salad, a very small serving with old, rubbery vegetables added. They pushed the bottled water, I am told this has become the highest profit margin item for restaurants, clearly the waiters have been trained to sell, sell, sell. Very sad story for a restaurant that at one time attracted people from all over the world.

This is a unique place in Nassau. The restaurant itself is located in a historic building, it also had live piano which was a very nice touch. The host was a bit judgmental in the way he looked and spoke, granted I was dressed somewhat casual, it is bahamas after all, but the rest of the stuff was very friendly. Duck was excellent, wine was excellent, they are famous for their collection. For desert I got guava souffle and that was a highlight! It is a big desert so definitely share it. Garden are looked very romantic too. Also they have a very good lunch menu but had a short trip and didn't get a chance to try it.

Beautiful venue and overall ambiance, however I would not recommend to other visitors. The maitre d’ made us very uncomfortable upon arrival by shaming one person in our party for wearing shorts (we are on vacation in the Bahamas, so he didn’t pack any formal trousers, but he was by no means looking scruffy..) Loved the live pianist. Service by waitstaff was excellent, however, the quality of the food left much to be desired and for a so called 5-star fine dining restaurant and the prices we were paying, we were disappointed. 2 in our party had fish (snapper and grouper). They were nice. 2 in our party had steak. Definitely do not order. Tough, not well cooked, generally low quality cuts. Sides were sub-par and bland. Chocolate truffles were lovely. Wines were extremely overpriced. We have eaten in restaurants that charge a fee for sharing main courses, but Graycliff charges a sharing fee for appetizers as well, which is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion.

Words could not explain the outstanding experience we had at this restaurant tonight. The service was top-notch! We were treated like movie stars. Front the moment we walked in the front door until the moment we left. The food was delicious, the drinks were excellent, the atmosphere was amazing, and to end the night perfectly; we were offered a private showing from one of the 3rd oldest private wine collections in the world. Not to mention we got to see the oldest bottle of wine in the world. You cannot go to the Bahamas without going to the Graycliff restaurant!! Thank you for making our trip so special!

Super neat spot with a great cigar lounge. I love that the cigar lounge is not in the basement but right there in the living space of the home. Live piano music too! Loved the atmosphere so much we went back the next day for dessert.
