18 Portland Breweries Showcasing the Evolution of Craft Brewing

"Maybe the "notion" referenced in Great Notion Brewing’s name is one of a brewery dedicated almost entirely to hazy IPAs and over-the-top kettle sours and stouts. At any rate, its success and cult-like following have had people lined down the block (often hours in advance) for special can releases with tight per-customer limits on purchases. Though it's fair to say that the hype has died down, it's nevertheless holding ground very well, having expanded from one taproom on Alberta to three in Portland (plus a pop-up on Division), two in Seattle, and two in California." - Ron Scott

8 Best Breweries in Portland, Oregon, Currently Open for Business | Condé Nast Traveler

"In the sunnier months— which Portland does actually have —the sprawling, gravel-lined patio at Great Notion is the place to be, as guests from all over the Alberta neighborhood sip beers at picnic tables covered by umbrellas. Everyone is here for the beer, whether it's a fruity IPA or tart sour beer: Great Notion was one of the first to hop on the sour bandwagon when it opened, and it's done so with consideration and talent, offering some of the best fruit sours and farmhouse ales around. While the tap list is reason enough to visit, the food makes it a true destination. The brewery offers a punched-up sort of bar menu, with a killer fried chicken sandwich, equally pleasing burger and veggie burger, and rice bowls, salads, and bar snacks." - Alexander Frane

Great Notion Brewing – Brewery Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"So, what can you tell us about this place? In the sunnier months—which Portland does indeed have—the sprawling, gravel-lined patio at Great Notion is the place to be, as guests from all over the Alberta neighborhood sip beers at picnic tables covered by umbrellas. Everyone is here for the beer, whether it's a fruity IPA or tart sour. So who’s there? The crowd is generally a mix of groups of young folks—couples and their children—as well as older beer snobs drinking a contemplative pint.  How are the drinks? Great Notion was one of the first to hop on the sour bandwagon when it opened, and it's done so with consideration and talent, offering some of the best fruit sours and farmhouse ales around. Still, the brewery understands that not everyone goes for that sort of thing, offering up a comparable menu of IPAs that will please anyone who loves that traditionally hoppy Northwest-style ale. Can we—or, should we—order something to eat, too? While the tap list is reason enough to visit, the food makes it a true destination. The brewery offers a punched-up sort of bar menu, with a killer fried chicken sandwich, equally pleasing burger and veggie burger, and rice bowls, salads, and bar snacks. What's the service like? Considering the popularity of this place, don't expect to have long, drawn-out conversations with your server unless you're sitting directly in front of them at the bar. Even then, they're likely too busy helping people and pouring beers to converse much. But all of them are knowledgeable and can quickly point you in the right direction. Wrap it up: what are we coming here for? Great Notion doesn't limit itself to any one kind of beer, instead offering some of the most popular varieties, like IPAs and sours, all of which are made with skill and experience. In summer, it's the perfect spot for a sunny afternoon happy hour; in winter, you can indulge in filling comfort food and hoppy, fruity IPAs." - Alexander Frane

It should be illegal to have that delicious of food and beer under 1 roof. Everything tasted amazing, you can't go wrong, good sized portions. Tacos, Mac & cheese, queso and chips. Finished off with the always delicious double blueberry cheesecake sour, which they sell in cans as well in case you want to enjoy it within the comfort of your own home, but if it was me I'de stick around for the laid back atmosphere and constant supply of dogs in the outdoor seating area. 10/10

Google
Great Notion Brewery in Portland, OR, is a must-visit for anyone who loves bold, creative craft beer and amazing food to match. Their lineup of innovative brews is truly something special, and the added bonus of having Matt's BBQ Tacos available on-site makes it an unbeatable experience. The Double Stack beer is a showstopper-a rich and decadent imperial stout that perfectly captures the essence of maple syrup and pancakes. It's like dessert and breakfast rolled into one, with a velvety smoothness that keeps you coming back for more. It's a must-try for stout lovers and anyone looking for a unique, indulgent beer. For something lighter but equally satisfying, the Bubbs Grapefruit seltzer is fantastic. It's crisp, refreshing, and packed with bright, tangy grapefruit flavor. It's perfect for a sunny day or whenever you're in the mood for something clean and bubbly. And the cherry on top? Matt's BBQ Tacos is right there inside the brewery, serving up some of the best tacos in Portland. Their smoked brisket and pork belly tacos are the stuff of dreams -flavorful, juicy, and the perfect pairing for Great Notion's beers. The combination of outstanding beer and mouthwatering BBQ tacos makes this spot a true Portland treasure. Whether you're a beer enthusiast, a foodie, or both, Great Notion Brewery delivers on every level. Highly recommended for an unforgettable experience!

Google
I absolutely love this spot! Spacious and chic taproom. Big, well lit patio that's dog friendly and its warm! Good music playlist, too! Fast and friendly service, clean bathrooms. Overall, a great experience

Love this brewery! Visited 3 years ago and it was amazing, came back and still just as delicious! Gotta try their fun sours and smoothie beers, you won't be disappointed!

Google
Cool spot with solid beers. The sours were especially good! There's a BBQ Taco place inside as well which smelled great but we didn't sample it.

Good over ripe Hazy. incredible Sour, Over Ripe in a can. Tasted mango nectar and tropical cocktail, one of the best sours I ever had. You should drop by

Google
Great hazy IPAs, can not go wrong. Sour beers on sweet side, hit and miss for me . Friendly service, free tasters before picking beer. Off street parking can be an issue. They offer taster trays and prefer you use an app to order, unless you sit at the bar. Food looked pretty good . Beer to go and board games are offered.

Yelp
This was by far my favorite brewery experience while visiting Portland - had an amazing flight of Hazy IPAs, followed by and amazing flight of Sour beers. I think everything was just perfect here; so many IPAs to pick from, and the hazy's were all amazing. Similar with the sours; amazing variety and all delicious. The bar staff were knowledgable and friendly, interior space was warm and welcoming. I love the Alberta neighborhood and this brewery is in a great location to relax for a drink after strolling the street.

Yelp
Great cozy experience at the original Great Notion! First had it in Berkeley so knew we had to try these awesome sour beers at the source when in Rome. Love the blueberry muffin & orange dreamsicle sours. Easy ordering with the QR code & excellent service!

Yelp
Great Notion was a bucket list brewery visit for me and man, did it live up to the hype!! Their beers are SO good and since they have such limited distribution to Massachusetts where I live, I will admit to have paid $9 for 1 can of it! So what a dream it was to finally be there and even more of a gift to have shared it with close friends! Last weekend while travelling for a wedding, we had some time to kill in Portland before our flight, my friends and I went to Great Notion's OG location for beers and lunch! I couldn't pick just one pour so obviously I had to get a flight: * Blueberry Muffin - Fruited Sour (an absolute favorite, this is the one we see every so often in MA and I'll always buy a can even if it's $9 a pop #worthit) * Boo Berry Muffin - Fruited Sour (such a fun seasonal take on the Blueberry Muffin) * Double Strawberry Cheesecake - Fruited Sour (tasted *just* like a strawberry Cremesaver!) * Oktoberfest - Marzen (it's that time of year!) * Little Haus of Horrors - DDH DIPA (this brew was DANK!) + Matt's BBQ Tacos is located here and we were blown away! Chopped Brisket Tacos and the beef fat Waffle Fries are where it's at! We loved that they had such a large, covered outdoor space so we had a relaxing lunch before heading downtown to explore Portland!

Yelp
Great Notion Brewing in Alberta is fantastic. I love having day drinks here in the summer. Their beer is tasty, which is the most important aspect of a brewery. The fruity sours and hazy IPAs stood out, and the sampler allowed me to explore different styles. On a hot summer day, their frozen drinks were incredibly refreshing. The space offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great spot for families. It's spacious and welcoming, which adds to the overall pleasant atmosphere. One of the highlights was their collaboration with Matt's BBQ Taco. The portions were generous, and the flavors paired perfectly with the beer. My favorite taco is THE G.O.A.T.

Yelp
Great selection of interesting and rotating beers. Flights of five are also available if you want to try a variety. They're currently serving food from Matt's Tacos, which is really good. Ordering is done easily via QR code. There's lots of seating inside and outside. Also kid friendly. Cans are available to go if you just want to pick something up.
google avatar

Leah E.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with Matt's BBQ tacos and this brewery is the perfect match. You grab any seat and order drinks using the QR code at your table. Service is prompt, friendly and we especially appreciated all the families that sat in the adjacent room. The bathroom had a sign to order an "angel shot" if you or a friend feel unsafe. (Pictured) I've never seen this in a bar and wish this was standard practice at all bars. The only gripe I had is the lack of flexibility from the chef at Matt's. I wanted a quesadilla (not on menu) and they told me to order a tortilla and put queso in it. With such an extensive kids menu you'd think they would have a quesadilla. Nevertheless, I ordered a bunch of tortillas to go and brought it back on my flight back home to SF.

Yelp
All tasted 2 stouts and IPA are great to visit. Bering from PDX is no bad distance and good foods from different restaurants which tacos serves.

Yelp
An absolute gem. Great Notion is not just one of my favorite breweries in Portland, but one of my all time favorites in general. Their beers are unique, fun, and very well crafted. I love being able to get flights with both classics I know and love, and a few new and novel as well. This Great Notion location in particular is my favorite due to their excellent choice of food vendor located inside (Matt's BBQ Tacos) which also has fantastic tacos, dips, and mac. Ordering is quick and seamless with Toast QR codes located at every table. The time it takes to get my flight/beers is crazy quick and even while busy, often only takes 5 minutes or less. The staff is also friendly and helpful. The breweries integration of Untapped & their personal easy to use, well designed app makes it all the better. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, that is kid and pet friendly. This is an absolute gem of Portland that I can't recommend enough!

Amy F.

Yelp
Beer we ordered is amazing. We tasted lots of hazy IPA but this one is the winner. There's a separate taco place inside the brewery but we didn't tried it. Service is fast and the place is big. We're in Portland for only 2 days but we went here twice. There's an outside patio if you wanted to bring kids. It's in the art district.

Yelp
This was a cool little hidden brewery in Alberta. Should be talked about more on trip advisor and any travel recommendation site only heard about it through air bnb lol. Anyways beer here is solid. The Can I Get a WITness was pretty decent for a witbier. The Peach Punch IPa though is where it's at! Staff here is also pretty chill, very quick to serve drinks and just on it in general

Fatima S.

Yelp
Love coming here with my family. Friendly staff, amazing tacos and great drinks. A must visit place especially if you have kids since it's kid friendly.

Yelp
Went on a whim and this was actually quite nice. Cool vibe, everything good. I love the Alberta District so this is another reason to head that way, looking forward to hanging out there when it warms up.

Yelp
One of my favorite breweries in Portland for their unique offers! I love their smoothie sours (not sure if that's the right term but that's what I'm gonna call it) and the option to get 5 oz pours so you can sample! Matt's BBQ Tacos (pretty popular Pdx joint) is the only food here, as they no longer offer their own menu. Bummer since I thought their food was pretty good. Matt's is separate from Great Notion but is housed within the building. Name is self explanatory, bbq meat served in taco form. $5+ a taco but they are hefty. The pork belly was my fav. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Seat yourself, server will take your drink order or you can order at the bar. Definitely worth a visit and try out their unique beers and buy some cans to go as well. I haven't been to their other locations but I'm sure they're great too.

Yelp
This was our favorite place to drink in Portland. On our trip, we visited here twice and absolutely didn't regret that decision. We went with the flight and were able to try a few different beers. -3.5/5 Pilsner - Accurately describes this beer. It's decent. Perfeclty good. Nothing wrong, nothing to stand out. -PB&Jammy Pants - Holy shit. That is a pb&j in a beer. It taste like an uncrustable in a beer. Not my style, but it could be yours. -Blueberry Muffin- Smells amazing. Normally sours aren't my thing, but this one was pretty good. This drink seems to be a crowd favorite. -Ripe IPA - Delicious IPA. -Ledge Bier - I loved this pilsner. Very crisp and smooth -Hedge Bier - This one was good too, I liked ledge a little better, but this one is still delicious -Bubbs Pineapple & Passionfruit - I loved this one! It is super light and tasty but NOT too sweet. Perfect for a first beer or brunch. -Super Ripe - Uh, not my taste, it was wildly ripe and made my teeth clench.

Yelp
Wow. Great Notion Brewing has been a fixture of Portland for years, and only recently did we start getting a few can releases locally. It has been on my list since I first tried their beer and I finally got to visit one of their locations. Alberta was the most convenient for us and overall it ended up being a highlight of our entire trip. We arrived on a rainy afternoon, wet, tired, and thirsty. From the outside it looks small, with a simple door and windows off the main street. Inside is so much more - wood tables and decor, soft lighting, green plants, natural light, and their signature artwork displayed everywhere. This is a family friendly spot with food and non-alcoholic drinks offered. We sat right in the middle, giving us a view of the bar, restaurant area, and kitchen. Outside the back is a large outdoor seating area with fire pits and open air - I'd imagine it's a great place to spent summer evenings. The staff was immediately welcoming greeting us and explaining to order everything online. For a group that likes to split, this made payment easier. Their beer choices in person were so much more than I had hoped for with styles ranging from lagers, to smoked beer, hazy IPAs, pastry stouts, and everything in between. For two friends, this was their favorite brewery on the entire trip thanks to a large selection of well-made sours. I opted mostly for IPAs and rare styles and loved everything. Their glassware is beautiful with round flight glasses in wooden boxes, stemmed tulip glasses for full pours, and sheer lager glasses for lighter styles. All the beers were well made - there wasn't a bad one. Prices may seem higher to some, but you're paying for quality over quantity. Some pastry and barrel-aged stouts have an upcharge as well, but the menu is clear. Their label art is an iconic style; the restroom walls are covered with past releases, the main walls have some originals and upscaled art as well. Be sure to have a look around. Food here is a separate business, we had tacos (see my other specific review for details). They have a merchandise counter with t-shirts, hats, glassware, etc.; also cold cans ready for take out. Overall we didn't want to leave, but couldn't drink anymore. If you're a beer fan, this is a must-visit place if you're in the area. Cheers!

Erin R.

Yelp
Killer looking establishment with its authentic art work. Major outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. The food is made by a taco company. The tacos aren't small and are very delicious with their own authentic twists. The hot wings were a must. They were smoked. Some of the best wings I've ever had. I tried all new sours, except one. I enjoyed all of them. The service was great. Tyler was attentive with a positive attitude and kindness. Thank you for a great evening! I enjoyed this location as much as I enjoy the NW location which is my regular stop.
google avatar

Marti L.

Yelp
Good beers and good food! Great notion is my top Portland brewery. Their beers are tasty and balance. And I love that they have a variety of style available. I've only been to this Alberta location and I like the ample seating. Order on your phone and the beers come out quickly. Matt's bbq taco is on site and the food was delish! The tacos were big and filling. The side of beef fat fries was better than expected!
google avatar

Dan R.

Yelp
Back here after almost 3 years, noon on a Monday so not crowded, which bothered me on my last visit, where the tightly packed tables can press on you when they're all full.. Today's service was exceptional, 6 stars! And the beer among the best not just in Portland but the country or beyond. Having Matt's tacos in the kitchen is a big step up from what they had in the past.
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
We love (!!!) this brewery and the darling neighborhood it's in. Great vibe, terrific food...we always recommend Great Notion to folks visiting Portland!
google avatar

Alex W.

Yelp
Matt's BBQ Tacos accompanies this spot for food. The Blueberry beer is pretty tasty, bartenders at this location are good and I like the TV setup. I would come here more but the beers are a bit expensive and they don't offer any cheap beer options.
google avatar

Steve A.

Yelp
Matt's BBQ Tacos are inside and absolutely worth the hype. I recommend the pork belly taco. Plenty of space inside and out. Street parking. Tones of drinks on tap.

Jakey G.

Yelp
This is our happy place. We love it here, our dog loves it here. We would live here, if we could. The best beer we have ever had in our lives. You must try the blueberry muffin beer, and any IPA.The IPAs are super subtle in hoppiness and very easy to drink. We buy packs to bring home, we cannot get enough of them. They have great/hilarious graphics inside and on their beer cans. They have an amazing outdoor area with heaters. They are dog friendly, and have an incredible staff!
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
Super good tacos and queso. Also you can sit with your dog outside which is nice. There's always plenty of seating and food comes out quickly.
google avatar

Troy H.

Yelp
Once upon a time...before Covid GN used to have some very good food. That has not been the case in over 2 years. We used to go weekly but have not been there in months. If you can't serve good food with great beer how about no food instead of the poor menu you have now. So disappointing.
google avatar

Katie R.

Yelp
No trip to Portland is complete without a visit to Great Notion. As soon as I book my flight up here, Great Notion is all I talk about until our visit here is planned. I guess really, this review is more of a love letter to Great Notion. As someone who primarily drinks sours my options here are pretty much endless. A full flight of sours? No problem. But, when I stopped in last year, my eyes were opened to the world of hazy IPAs. Never would've thought to try one if it weren't for GN's funky and fruit forward brews. After trying the orange creamsicle and juice jr. last year, I was on a hunt for them for moths when I came back to the Bay Area. Never had luck with the orange creamsicle but did happen upon juice jr. Aside from them expanding my beer horizons and giving me some of the sweetest nectar I've ever had, the place just has a really cool vibe. Have drank both inside and out and it always feels so lively and fun...even in the pandemic the outdoors was poppin...safely of course though. Parking can be tough since it's all parallel parking and it's surrounded by neighborhoods, luckily I've never had to be the driver (parallel parker) and we typically can find something within a few blocks.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
I like Great Notion. They make some tasty, quirky beers and have a nice lil drinkery tucked off Alberta here. I wish they made bigger batches of beer and didn't rely on scarcity to drive demand. It can be a bummer to open their app (which you have to use to pre-order) and see that cans of their Blueberry Muffin beer are already sold out. Or their Double Stack, Big Papaya, whatever it is. But, the fact that they are sold out does mean they're good! Pretty unlike other beers you've tried. This Alberta location can be hard to find. But once you do you can enjoy their large dog-friendly patio or sit inside. Order with a QR code. Have your fun beers and fairly typical bar food (nachos, burger, pretzel, etc) brought to you. Everything I've tried has been good. Service is okay - they did bring a neighbor's dog a bowl of water, which was sweet.
google avatar

deangelo w.

Yelp
Can't go wrong here one of the best brewery's in the city and it's local. Some of the best customer service and some of the best fruity sour beers I've had me and my gf had a blast. Oh and let's not forget the great brisket tacos from Matt's bbq. I'm going back and I'm going back soon.
google avatar

Jack G.

Yelp
Excellent brewery! Outstanding IPAs. Co-located with Matt's BBQ Tacos for the perfect combination of food and drink. Order beers thru the QR code and have them delivered to your table.
google avatar

Garfield K.

Yelp
I like beer, and this place had some solid beers - along with some misses (but that's just my preference). The sours were top notch, as were the beers with jams. The lager was decent, but the stout was too sweet to my liking. The service was fine, and the vibe was causal. I'd definitely come back to sample another few rounds of flights if I were ever in town again. Hope they open a few more in CA!

Samantha T.

Yelp
Our absolute favorite brewery in the PNW!! Incredible hazies, smoothies, stouts, sours, you name it. Great service, ambiance, the food onsite is fantastic. We lived in Vancouver, WA for close to 30 years and when we decided to move away to SoCal in 2018 we lamented the loss of our favorite brewery. However, now we can get beer shipped to us and we are so thankful! My personal favs are jammy pants, any of the coffee/chocolate stouts, I remember Hazed & confused was incredible but that was a couple of years ago. Love that they keep experimenting and expanding their horizons, quite literally now that they can ship!
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
My favorite brewery in Oregon. I stop by every time I'm in town. All their beers are excellent whether you like Hazy IPAs or sours.
google avatar

Yelp
Dog friendly tap room with a taco stand. Great Notion beer is amazing and this is a great place to try them when in Portland! Lots of dogs and families outside with plenty of seating. Inside a cool scene as well. Great neighbor hood to walk with a lot of food and drink choices.
google avatar

Into The D.

Yelp
The IPA was amazing. They do a great job on focusing on brewing amazing beer, order on your phone and drinks are delivered quickly to your table. By having Mikes tacos in house cooked food makes all the difference in the adventure. Quick and easy ordering of food at the kiosk.
google avatar

Mike V.

Yelp
Five stars if you like IPAs, sours and fruited beers (I didn't realize i did so maybe five stars for those who are totally in the dark when it comes to beer too?) The service was perfect, they hit the nail on the head with every recommendation for our flights (highly recommended as a place to start), which brought us to the ones we wanted half-pints of, which ended with taking growlers back to the house for friends. Favorites: Frozen Lushie Blueberry Muffin Baked and Stuffed (Berry Danish) So Wrong it's Ripe Hail
google avatar

Mariana M.

Yelp
Great beer, great staff. Make sure you try their pork Sandwich and ask for a Carolina BBQ on the side. The beers was amazing. We tried a variety of sour beer, from papaya, double blueberry and passion fruit, delicious! The staff will make suggestions based on your liking. Great spot, lots of perking.
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
Service was 10/10. I forgot to ask the server for their name. She sat us immediately on the patio and always showed up at the right moments to get us another round or more water. The sour selection was off the charts! I love sours and they had quiet the selection. We got a flight and it was amazing. The food was also surprisingly great. Maybe I'm crazy but the Crunchwrap extreme was so delicious. We also got the bbq sandwich and the meat was perfect. I noticed that a lot of the options could be made vegan. I can't wait to tell my vegan friends that they can get a Crunchwrap VEGAN! I'll be back!

Jenny G.

Yelp
Go somewhere else!! I brought a group of people here to watch the game and we all were wildly disappointed. So it wasn't a quick one and done, we were there for a few hours. The entire staff had such a glum energy, no smiles, no thank you's, just sad energy.. The pink haired bartender had such passive aggressive energy to not only me but to a few other people in my group. At the end of the day I would've loved to spend my $100 that I spent at somewhere that appreciated that we all were there. Oh and we get it you close promptly at 9!!!! You made that uncomfortably clear to the entire restaurant. #hateyourjob
google avatar

Keaton W.

Yelp
The place to visit for tasty beer and comfort grub! Huge selection of sours and IPAs. Could use a few more lighter beer options such as lagers or pilsners but brew as you choose! What a perfect menu of food to enjoy. The Crunchwrap was unbelievable. Smash burger is an absolute home run. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu with confidence! Service was fantastic! Quick, kind, and easy!

Yelp
If you ask me, Great Notion is the GOAT of the PNW Beer world! When I discovered GN (2017) I was into New England style IPAs. I thought that GN had a knack for them, because everyone that I had tried was amazing. And now fast forward to today (2021) I am obsessed with fruited sours. There is NO ONE around that does better sours than GN! Back in April, my friend and I were on our way to Hood River and I suggested to stop so we could try some beers at the Alberta location. He had never tried any sours before, and one trip here he was convinced! We also picked up some 4-packs on our way out. I've been introducing all my friends to GN because I am OBSESSED. I love this location! So much great seating outside and bonus points for being next door to my favorite food in Portland (Pine State!)

Yelp
whenever i go to portland, this is a must stop for me. great notion actually introduce me to hazy beer! i loved it then, i still love it now. i always seemed to wanna try the hazys they have! it is too good. i usually get the sampler. this location is a super cute as well. lots of cute stores and other restaurants in the area. this is right next to pine state biscuits. the staff are very knowledgable and if undecided what to drink, they'll make recommendations. they also sell merch here like clothing. i ended up buying a beer mug:)

Yelp
Great Notion is a great spot for beer, food, and socializing outside. The IPA and sour selections are both pretty extensive filled with great options and names (i.e. Emo Beach Party, Frozen Lushie, Unbalanced Breakfast). The food options are pretty good for a brewery. There is extensive covered outdoor patio seating. The decor, vibe, and setup is inviting and just comfortable. We took two families with children. Adults and children all had a great time. The severs were very family friendly and thoughtful towards the children, which allowed the adults to enjoy the beers. The restaurant is also in a trendy area. So, walking around after dinner was nice, as well.

Yelp
Closed for a private party on a Friday evening, how rude, I wanted some Matt's tacos and beer, not good

Yelp
I love that great notion has Matt's Bbq tacos here. The order system can be a bit confusing if you it's your first time, but it's dog friendly and pretty casual. It's a great casual spot for friends.

Yelp
Good, creative beers and a nice patio area kind of tucked away off the street hidden by some greenery which is nice when the weathers good. The food is average and expensive, I paid like $12 for a Crunchwrap that was the same quality if not worse than Taco Bell's for more than double the price. The beers were good tho, you can try 6 in a flight and I enjoyed almost all of them. The blueberry muffin or whatever was especially delicious, and I liked most of the ipas but the strawberry marshmallow one was sickly sweet, I couldn't finish.

Yelp
Awesome brewery in the heart of the Alberta Arts District. This was a four-star brewery until they partnered with Matt's BBQ Tacos...now it's definitely a five-star establishment! The is a great spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if you like tacos of course. Clean restaurant with friendly staff and prompt service. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. You can order everything yourself, beer from the QR Code at the table and food from the kiosk by the kitchen. The brisket and breakfast tacos are a must!

Yelp
We love the blueberry muffin sour and decided to stop in just for that. I actually ended up getting a flight and trying as many of their sours as I could. Really love the flavors they create and I love that this is one of the few breweries that has more sours than IPA's. I didn't try the food but everything I saw coming out looked good. We sat outside and it was comfortable and enjoyed greeting everyone's dogs. The service was also quick and easy since you order from your phone.

Yelp
Great Notion was our first stop in Portland. It's next to a cute garden nursery that we walked through to get in. There's plenty of seating either at the bar inside or outside with heat lamps. I'm not a huge beer fan, but I did try to seedless watermelon sour and really enjoyed it. It tasted more like a kombucha than a beer, I would highly recommend this! We ordered the asada fries (soooo good) and the nachos (I'd prefer the fries) as well as the pretzel. The pretzel comes with honey mustard and a really smooth cheese sauce. I really liked the vibe or this brewery and the service was excellent. Would return if I'm ever in Portland again and would highly recommend!

Yelp
If you like smoothie sours and hazy IPAs, this is a must-visit brewery destination in Portland. - Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. - Online ordering system (Toast), a little clunky for large groups to order together, but reasonably easy and efficient. - Really, really good beer. The only slight drawback is that they focus on a certain style, and do it well, but if you don't like dessert sours, IPAs, and stouts, you're out of luck here. - Matt's BBQ Tacos on location, great food.

Yelp
Good food & tons of alcohol selections! You order food from Matt's tacos on a kiosk up front then take a number and seat yourself. Then on the table is the QR code to order alcohol on ToastTab, with the drinks delivered to your table. Most food options are tacos or chips & dips.
