"It’s easy to drive by Greek Islands and think to yourself, “Hey, there goes another regular ol’ Greek restaurant.” But this deceptively casual spot is special—and a Fort Lauderdale classic. This is mostly because they serve some of the best Greek food in South Florida. These aren't trendy little tapas, but big dishes perfect for hungry friends who are ready to smell like garlic for the next couple hours. Start off with the pikilia, a platter of four excellent dips served with warm pita. The lamb chops are a good idea too, but there are no bad decisions here, especially if it involves feta cheese or olive oil. Just know that they don't take reservations and there's pretty much always a wait (especially on weekends) so try to come early." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo

We had the grilled octopus it was delicious perfectly grilled with tons of herbs; I would say is good to have as an appetizer. Gyro was delicious and decent portion. Potato was definitely lemony and very tasty which makes a great side. Rice on chicken kebab was flavorful with that homemade taste. Baklava was okay. First time at the Greek Islands and would definitely recommend.

Went to the Greek island today because it came highly recommended by our foodie friends. Wow. The grilled octopus was out of this world. Lamb chops were to die for. Rib appetizer had excellent flavor and cooked to perfection they just didn’t have a whole lot of meat on them. The baked shrimp appetizer was just okay I would skip it next time and try something else. Even the complementary bread with hummus was amazing. 10/10 one of the best authentic Greek restaurants I’ve ever been to.

for over 15 years, this restaurant has been my absolute favorite in all of South Florida. Selfishly I’ve not posted about this because I wanted to keep it to myself as it started getting a little overcrowded in the evening and they don’t accept reservations. I found myself going more and more at lunch just because you can easily get a table most of the time. But now that I’ve reflected on that selfishness I realize it’s time to post so that the world can see just how fantastic this restaurant is. There’s something about the way they prepare the food and the sauce that they use. Specifically there is a lemon butter sauce that they put on many of the dishes that is just second to none. my suggestion is to start with the Saganashkee. Hummus and bread comes automatically. Use some of the bread, especially the whole wheat, as a base for this pieces of Saganashkee. The breast of chicken is based in the lemon butter sauce and absolutely outstanding. It comes with rice and green beans on the side. gyro is considered an appetizer here and not a sandwich like you sometimes see at food trucks. This is more traditional where they have shaved lamb meat with pita on the bottom, tomatoes and onions and a nice size scoop of tzatziki on the side. It is perfect for sharing, but I often get it as my meal because of how good it is. The ribs and chicken wings are also outstanding. My father-in-law loves the rack of lamb and swears by it. My wife sometimes gets the fish and she loves it. Either way there’s nothing on the menu that is not perfectly prepared. Do yourself a favor and check out this restaurant as it will likely become your favorite restaurant as well.

Google
First off -- the food. The menu was encouraging. I saw plenty of authentic Greek dishes without non-Greek infiltrators like hummus and falafel. We ordered several mezé, and the flavor along with the freshness of the ingredients was exactly like the food you would get at a taverna in Greece. The service was friendly and never left us waiting for too long. The ambiance was also very charming with outdoor seating in a shaded area surrounded by lush plants and palm trees. All around, a fantastic experience, and I will be returning there

Google
We were searching for a place to dine and discovered this gem! It appeared quite busy when we drove past, so we decided to park and inquire about the waitlist. Fortunately, we only waited five minutes for a table. The food was exceptional! Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared, fresh, and delicious. We usually don't order dessert, but we decided to try it here, and it was wonderful. The service was impeccable! They even sell their specialty sauce in bottles, which we purchased and found to be well worth it. We certainly plan to return!

Google
One of the most consistently excellent restaurants in South Florida! I've been making the trip with my family for years, all for the insatiable craving of their lamb chops! Keep in mind that all the other plates are great, but maaaaaaan. The sampler, the veggies, the lemon potatoes, the octopus, the lamb chops!! The service is efficient and gets better every time we go! God Bless

Greek Islands Taverna is a Fort Lauderdale staple, consistently delivering bold Mediterranean flavors in a lively, no-frills setting. Whether you’re a longtime patron or a first-time visitor, the experience is unmistakably authentic—bustling energy, generous portions, and a commitment to traditional Greek cooking. The Food: The menu is packed with standout dishes, but the grilled octopus is a must—perfectly charred, tender, and kissed with just the right amount of olive oil and lemon. The lamb chops are another highlight, cooked to a juicy medium-rare and seasoned with a well-balanced mix of herbs. The spanakopita, with its crisp, flaky layers and creamy spinach filling, is a comforting start to any meal. On the seafood side, the shrimp is a house favorite, expertly cooked and served simply to let its natural flavors shine. The side of lemon potatoes is the perfect complement, bright and flavorful. The Atmosphere: The restaurant exudes an old-school charm, with a lively, almost chaotic energy that adds to its appeal. It’s always busy, especially on weekends, so expect a bit of a wait. That said, the service remains attentive, though it can feel rushed when the place is packed. The Verdict: Greek Islands Taverna is one of the best spots in Fort Lauderdale for authentic Greek food that’s fresh, flavorful, and consistently satisfying. While the wait times and the very limited parking keep it from being a perfect five-star experience, it’s still a go-to destination for anyone craving top-tier Mediterranean cuisine. Pro Tip: Come early or be prepared to wait—it’s always worth it. And don’t skip the baklava for dessert!

Google
An incredible experience! The food is authentic and full of flavor, with fresh ingredients that transport you straight to Greece. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is impeccable. Definitely a place to return to and savor every bite. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Nice outdoor space, quick service, delicious Greek cuisine ! Once seated, waiters will bring bread and hummus garbanzos dip and bread From the lunch menu, ordered chicken pita ( comes with lettuce, tomatoes and tiziki) Pita salad and potato side Both platters were delicious And the cheese cake baklava was amazing as well Will be back but for dinner Recommend!

Yelp
I normally try to only review a restaurant based on the food but I am making an exception here. The food at Greek Islands is great and always has been. I would highly recommend the mini gyros and lamp chops. The service inside the restaurant was great as well. Here is the issue, and i dont know if its the valet or the restaurant at fault here but this is one of those spots that charges to valet your car just right infront of you which is incredibly dumb but my issue is, therenis no way to pay via card, venmo etc, cash only. We pulled up to the restaurant (and ended up spending over $400) and because I didnt have cash the valet was incredibly rude and recommended WE WALK TO WALGREENS TO GET CASH. FOR 6 DOLLARS. Im sorry but if you are charging for pointless valet atleast have a non-cash option, and/or if a customer doesn't have cash add it to the bill... OR COMP IT, YOU ARE PARKING THE CAR 7FEET AWAY. It was a rude and unnecessary start to an otherwise great dinner

Yelp
Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 All around beast Greek restaurant in Broward County

Robert G.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Waited 10 minutes for a table inside. Waits are longer during season. $6 Valet parking. Given bread and hummus and service was prompt. Nice Greek ambiance in a busy restaurant serving great food. We ordered a large Greek salad which was fresh and very good. For dinner ordered the Lamb chops and grilled shrimp. Dinners were served and the food was excellent. Prices reasonable as they come with potatoes and Greek veggies.

Lynette B.

Yelp
Wow! I've driving by here and see a line out the door and have always wondered why. I now know that it's because this guy lace is legit. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. Service was awesome and although we did need to wait to get a table, the line goes quickly. Highly recommend if you're on the area and want some yummy Greek food.

Brianna G.

Yelp
By far the best Greek food I have had in all of south Florida!! I love the options and authenticity that this spot has. Definitely recommend the grilled octopus or stuffed shrimp for your next meal!

Gabe H.

Yelp
At first glance we didnt care for the dining space. Tables seemed crowded and gave mom and pop shop BUT the service and food made up for that. We were seated and given complimentary hummus and warm bread which was delicious. We ordered the grape leaves and shrimp as appetizers and both were great with good flavor. For entree we had the lamb chops which were 10/10 and the Greek salad with chicken which was large enough for two . No complaints. Overall 4 G's !!

Yelp
Thank you to Owner Chris for making our phenomenal dining experience even more phenomenal. This Greek restaurant was hopping on a Thursday night and after tasting the food can certainly see why.I can see why this iconic restaurant is so popular. We were immediately seated to an outside covered area with a cool signature Ft Lauderdale breeze. Appetizers : The hot fried zucchini with a cool side of scordalia ( aka Greek penicillin) velvety mixture of potatoes garlic and olive oil was surprisingly delicious. We ordered extra pita and bread to be dipped in their signature hummus. That was heavenly with just the right texture and spices. The chicken shish - k- bob with rice was also cooked perfectly. Lambchops were also ordered for our table and were devoured by our carnivores. As we were finishing up, Chris ,the owner, ordered a complimentary trio of large size desserts to be delivered to our table. UNBELIEVABLE. We had a decadent 3 layer chocolate dish, a baklava cheesecake and my ultimate fave.rice pudding topped with cinnamon. Although it was very busy, Chris made it a point to come visit our table a few times to catch up and make sure we were taken care of. Will definitely return next time in the Ft Lauderdale area. Highly recommend!

Yelp

Yelp
You ever had one of those amazing meals years (even decades) ago and then over time that experience becomes an amazing memory of a meal... but then you finally return with high expectations only to be let down a bit. I've eaten here a few times in the early 2000s and have left with nothing but great experiences but I have finally returned (20 years later).... and although not bad, it just wasn't up to par. To begin, I was surprised then parking lot was valet only (AT LUNCH TIME) even though the parking stalls are right there; you actually drive past empty stalls to arrive at the valet. I know the place gets busy in the evening so I get it but lunch time had plenty of empty stalls. Onto the meal.... the first serving of HUMMUS is complimentary but after that first serving it'll cost you. The hummus is surprisingly not served with pita... but instead served with a bread loaf; the hummus was very thick (almost hard) and the flavor was good, not great (I was hoping for great). We started our meal with an order of Melitzanosalta and Smelts... The MELITZANOSALTA is a DIP made from baked eggplant, onions, garlic and lemons.... remember it's a DIP... The waitress asked if we wanted pita for dipping; I assumed she asked because maybe there were other choices (like the bread from the hummus); naturally I said yes to the pita. Apparently, they charged us for the pita... the dollars aren't the issue, but it's a DIP that comes with nothing but a spoon. Why would you sell a DIP with nothing to DIP; at least it did taste good (with the pita I ordered). The SMELTS were Ehhh... They didn't taste fresh; not saying frozen but more like it was prepared and cooked earlier and reheated now.... not saying that was done; just felt that way. Not very good. For our main course, my wife had the Chicken Greek Salad and I ordered the Chicken Shish-Ke-Bob (I was torn between this and the Moussaka)... My wife's CHICKEN GREEK SALAD looked good; traditional greek salad with lettuce, olives, feta cheese, cucumbers, green peppers, onion, tomatoes and their house dressing. The salad looked very good and dressing was excellent but the large cuts of tomato were mushy (again, felt like cut way earlier and not just not good). As for my CHICKEN SHISH-KE-BOB, the large cuts of chicken were cooked perfect (tender and moist inside with a light char on the exterior); and the green pepper, onion and tomato were great and served over a bed of rice. Overall, my memories of Greek Islands Taverna were much better than how it actually is...

Yelp
This Greek restaurant is one of the best in the area. During busy times you can see a line of people about 20-30 deep waiting for a table. Since I like to make lunch my big meal of the day, we usually go for lunch when the wait is almost non existent and the food is good as always. This last time we sat outside on the patio and out server was a nice 20 something lady who was very rushed and not very attentive. It seemed like she was busy thinking about other things. Anyway, we had a good meal, stating with the fresh complementary bread and hummus....the baby back ribs appetizer are always a favorite of mine and my husband got the grilled chicken salad with the feta on the side. A few changes on the menu. They don't have the roasted chicken for lunch anymore and the prices have gone up about 10-15% in the past few years. Easy, delicious, consistent....

Patty M.

Yelp
The service was quick and friendly, server was friendly,Greek decor,Everything was brought out within 20 minutes and it was delicious, best octopus so tender !

Great S.

Yelp
Fast, friendly, and delicious; Greek Islands Taverna continues to impress. Plenty of parking behind the establishment if you don't want to valet you vehicle. The Greek salad is every bit of what you would get in Greece, and the fried smelt paired with the skordalia always gives me "The Ratatouille" moment of my time in Greece. 10/10 would recommend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5m7SGjJo7c4

Yelp
Stopped by here for a quick bite for dinner during spring break. Talking to a few locals (Uber driver and dog walkers), they recommended this spot and even went as far as to say its "the best Greek food from Florida to NYC!" Given that it was right near our lodging, we had to give it a shot! We sat on the covered patio area. Great ambiance, and they got us in quickly. Server was attentive with water. They bring out rolls of bread with hummus before your meal. You can order more for $3. I ended up deciding on the chicken CHICKEN SHISH-KE-BOB. The entire was pretty solid. Decent pricing for ambiance and location. I will say that the chicken I had was dry; if it were not for this, it would have been an easy 5 stars. Good experience; would love to come back and try some more items on the menu.

Jill P.

Yelp
I wish I had a picture of the delicious chicken entree but this salad was equally as good, I swear!! The service was so friendly and quick and the outdoor and indoor seating was relaxing, quaint, and soothing.

Mike M.

Yelp
Nice place. Totally Greek. The food, the staff, the style. Nice. No matter what you order, have the soup, it's unbelievable. Bread comes to the table with hummus and be careful, you will eat it all. The next order of bread is charged to you. We had Moussaka, chicken kabobs, and the gyros. Everything was delicious. No complaints at our table. The place is busy but they don't take reservations. The drinks were a generous pour and our server was terrific. Can't wait to come back again.

Bob S.

Yelp
This place lives up to its rating. Great Greek food. We had the octopus, a gyro with the tazicki appetizer. The portions were just the right size and we walked out full but not stuffed. The octopus was by far the best!

Clara A.

Yelp
The service was great! However the restaurant was packed and it was very loud. We were seated at a table near the bathrooms. Our server was great! Great wine. The reason I give it 3 stars was because the food could have tasted better. I did not get any seafood it was others in my party and they said it was good. The chicken was nice and crispy , but the sides were just not right. Something was missing.

Jenier M.

Yelp
This place was amazing. We met a group of friends for a 25th year anniversary celebration and ever felt welcomed, at home, and incredibly satisfied. To talk about the quality of the food I must only mention that the couple being celebrated that that are originally from Greece, they as well as their children highly recommend Greek Taverna, and after my experience I do as well. So, if you find yourself in town and want to enjoy real Greek food, cooked with the love, affection, and the true principles of Hellas, there's no other place I would recommend!

malvina g.

Yelp
Every time we come to FLL we stop here. Everything is delicious, but you must have the octopus and lamb. Pro tip: no resy's and it's always busy. Get there for late lunch/ early dinner and don't wait!

Sheila L.

Yelp
This place is a flurry of delicious activity! Decided to try on a Friday night and were seated immediately. The hummus is amazing and the Taziki is the best I've had. We did not misorder. Hubby had the lamb and I had the chicken kabob. So, so good! The staff is superb and turn the tables quickly..they have a pretty large bar inside and seating outside as well. Everywhere I looked, people were enjoying themselves! I highly recommend...

Paul O.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. We always sit at the bar, and the bartenders are inviting and engaging the conversation. And always have a great wine to suggest with dinner. I'm the owner son always appreciative of us being there and very kind. Go to place, whenever I have a special person in town and I want them to have a wonderful experience. Lamb chops are the best ever.

Macoisinha M.

Yelp
We had great time at the Greek islands. The food was excelente and came very quickly. The service was also great, very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was spacious and with a nice patio outside. Will definitely go back.

Camille L.

Yelp
This place made me feel like It was Sunday lunch at a family restaurant in Greece. Service was great, ambiance just perfect. My favorite was the grilled octopus. Definitely plan on coming back.

Joanne F.

Yelp
We went for lunch and everything was delicious. I had the octopus and it was perfect. The restaurant is very cozy - it feels like you are visiting family. The service was excellent.

Javed S.

Yelp
Very authentic ambience and food. The service is friendly. The Smell is heavenly. The complementary hummus was amazing with fresh bread

Kathy G.

Yelp
The lamb chops melt in your mouth. I can't get enough. The hummus is also amazing and melts in your mouth. The bred they serve is amazingly fresh.

M P.

Yelp
I really liked the greek tavern, I think it is strong on spices but to me thats a good thing! Not so strong that it ruins the plate, definitely adds to the flavor.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Came here this evening for the first time after hearing through the grapevine how good this place was. Unfortunately, my experience was very average and nothing I'd rant or rave about. When we first entered the restaurant, it was a tad confusing. No real hostess stand and we just kind of stood there looking confused in a sea of tables until a man came over and said "how many?". After about a 20 minute wait, we were seated at a table with a nice window view. Table itself was a bit wobbly and the window sill could use some cleaning. Our server eventually came over and it was a bit lack luster. The service was very much "what do you want?"; there was no "how are you folks today?" "Have you dined with us before" "do you have any questions about the menu?". My boyfriend ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and the wine glass had quite a few marks on it- finger prints/etc. Appeared quite foggy and not clear like you'd expect a glass to be. For food, we had the saganaki which was tasty, but overly oily. I've had this dish at other spots previously and don't remember it being as oily as this one was. My boyfriend also had the lamb chops which he loved, and then I got the chicken kabob. The chicken was a bit..... chewy..... and I didn't end up eating it. However I did eat the vegetables and rice from the dish which were good. My boyfriend wanted to box the rest of his meal to take home at the end of our dinner, and the waiter did this for us at the table which was a nice touch. But all in all, this place just didn't excite me.

Cindy B.

Yelp
Tried Greek Islands Taverna this past weekend and I really enjoyed it. When I arrived, there was a wait, but because I was part of a party of two I was seated promptly, which was wonderful because it was a bit chilly outside this weekend. After sitting down the waitress addressed us quickly, and quickly brought out hummus and bread, which was super tasty. We ordered a nice bottle of wine and with the smelts to start. For our mains, we had the lamb chops, garlic shrimp, fried cheese and Greek salad. All in all I would recommend.

Kate S.

Yelp
We had an early dinner here while visiting the area. We showed up at about 5:30 thinking we'd be the only ones there, and this placed was packed! We sat in the outdoor area which was cute and comfortable. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food came out very quickly. The bread was fresh and tasty. I got the shrimp which the waiter highly recommended. I thought it was good, but not amazing, and quite expensive. Hubby got the octopus appetizer which was excellent and ribs which were prepared in a style that lamb would typically be prepared. They were also very tasty. Kiddo got a gyro which was delicious. We all shared a slice of baklava cheesecake for dessert which we enjoyed.

Lori W.

Yelp
Return visit. Sat at bar so we could watch the Dolphins football game. Alexandra took great care of us. My fave Greek Sauv Blanc was on the menu by-the-glass : had enjoyed many bottles on our trip to Santorini 2 years ago. Very fairly priced. We loved every item: tzatziki- saganaki- shrimp- lamb chops. Fiance said they were cooked. Absolutely perfect too. Very nice complimentary bread with dip. Love the garlic! It is a bit of a hike from Boca Raton yet we enjoyed the drive along A1A and enjoyed the holiday lights. Highly recommend!

Lisa A.

Yelp
Our friends took us to Greek Islands for the first time and we absolutely loved it. The food was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I chose the steak kabob for dinner. I could cut the meat with a fork it was so tender! The dips we ordered were incredible as well. Their tzatziki sauce can be ordered on it's own and I will make sure to do that next time because it's so good you can literally bathe in it. We got to sample all their desserts (because YOLO). Everything was great but the Baklava Cheesecake was my favorite. The restaurant itself is super cute and clean. Our server was amazingly attentive. He kept us laughing and the drinks flowing. Excited to return!

Dominique D.

Yelp
Greek Islands Taverna, is a standout spot for authentic Greek cuisine that never misses the mark. The veal chop? Tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. And those lamb chops - simply fantastic. Each dish comes with a side of roasted potatoes and a vegetable medley that's seasoned to perfection. To top it all off, their Baklava Cheesecake provides the ideal sweet finish to an impeccable meal.

John P.

Yelp
A South Florida staple, Greek Islands Taverna consistently serves authentic Greek cuisine. Their signature dishes, such as the Shrimp and Lamb Chops are not to be missed. We tried the Lamb Chops, which were char-broiled and seasoned with lemon, oregano, and olive oil, and served with Patates Ladoregano and vegetables - they were absolutely delicious! We also enjoyed the Octopus and the Saganaki appetizer made with Kefalotiri cheese as appetizers. We also had the Garides Tou Sotiri, large baked shrimp splashed with Sotiri's Secret Sauce and served with rice. Delicious! In addition to their fantastic food, the service at Greek Islands Taverna was also excellent. It's no wonder they've received numerous awards over the years. Their popularity can be seen in the line outside of the restaurant. They don't take reservations, but the line goes quickly. The wait is definitely worth it!

Lona P.

Yelp
My favorite Greek restaurant in South Florida. The Greek salad and gyro is everything and i absolutely love the lamb chops with potatoes. OMG!! So delicious

Felicia D.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The service is amazing, the restaurant is beautiful, and the food is amazing. Probably some of the best food I have ever gotten. This restaurant is a bit pricey, but it's well worth it. The quality and flavor of the food is unmatched. I literally have been dreaming about the tzatziki. It is the best I have ever had in my entire life. Please go and get it. Do yourself a favor. I got the shrimp this time and was surprised and how big it really was! The sauce was so good and complimented the shrimp perfectly. My husband got the lamb, I honestly didn't think that I liked lamb until I tried some of his, wow. He wasn't even finished with his dish and was considering buying another to bring home with us. Amazing restaurant with amazing people and amazing food!

David S.

Yelp
OMG - I'm without words. The food here might be the best Greek food I have ever eaten! The saganaki, the hummus, the moussaka, the shrimp ... I'm telling you: EVERYTHING we tasted was beyond compare. You must try this place!

Julia L.

Yelp
Got here around 6: 45 PM on Easter Sunday. We waited in line around 20 minutes. Once we got seated-we waited and waited. Both tables on each side of us had been greeted by their FRIENDLY servers , had water and drinks before we were even acknowledged. And we got there before one of the two of them. Finally Danica said she'd be right with us after she raced by. She showed up in a couple minutes and took our drink order. She was right back with my husband's water and my iced tea and then asked what we wanted to eat. I froze because I wasn't sure, and I clearly irritated her because the entire rest of our meal, it was clear she was pretty disenchanted with us. They were super busy, though and we thought maybe if we could was because of that . But the entire service we felt she would rather we weren't there. I kept thanking her for everything, because that's what I do when I feel like maybe someone doesn't think I appreciate them. But clearly she didn't appreciate us because it never got any better. Every other employee in that restaurant had a smiling face and was very nice and personable- Except our server to us! It really doesn't matter how good the food is if you leave feeling the way we did. My husband tipped her appropriately for the service we received.

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
Everything was amazing, can't wait to go back we also got the bean dish which was amazing, we all agreed that next time we would get the lamb, bean dish and salad! Everything was fresh and delicious

Ryan O.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Oysters were gigantic and oh so yummy. Bloody Mary was really good and the service was stellar. Will definitely visit again if we're back in the area.

Michael C.

Yelp
Not sure why, but I only go here twice a year and that's my mistake because if you like Green food this is Heaven. My friend from NY who is a restaurant owner turned me on to this place. We started off with great bread and humus. Then we have a Greek salad followed by chicken wings, lamb chops and vegetables. Desert we had rice pudding and chocolate cake. Weekends / nights it gets crowded and I don't think they take reservations. Lunchtime is the key. Make this one of your stops. Food is outstanding!!!

Brandon S.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Fort Lauderdale, and the best Greek restaurant I've found so far. Hummus is great, chicken shish kebab is really good, and would come back just for the shrimp appetizer. Friendly and attentive service. Will be back!

Olesya P.

Yelp
So we were really excited to try this place because everyone said it's the best Greek place in the area. We came in on Friday night and we're seated immediately. They brought us bread with dip on the house, which was pretty decent. They didn't have any non alcoholic cocktails just soda. They do have a large wine selection. My husband is Greek and we spent some time in Greece last year together, we also live in NYC for awhile so we tried very good Greek Restaurants. We ordered saganaki and really enjoyed it. It was probably was the best dish in the restaurant that we tried. It was cooked well. Gigantes were really mediocre, I think the once you get from a can are better. They were kind of dry and cold. Octopus was totally overpriced. They give you bunch of small pieces cut very small, very unusual, we didn't get a normal piece. Lemon potato was just ok. You can get same anywhere or make it yourself. Keftedes were good. Nothing special. Service was ok, they bring everything right away so they probably pre cook bunch of things. Place also very run down with broken down tables and very old bathroom. Very overpriced and overhyped. It should be cheaper. Plates are old, tables are old, table cloths are old. Honestly not sure what was the hype about. The location is also not great. Maybe it used to be better 10 years ago but was underwhelming to say the least.

Yelp
Wow!!! We had such a fantastic experience dining here last night, for a group of 7. Be forewarned, line is long (and always is) so you could be waiting for more than an hour, but you gotta trust me when I say it's truly worth the wait! Food was amazing and authentic. Service from Steve was excellent, friendly and he had a great sense of humor. Here's what my hubby and I shared: Saganaki - 11/10 - their version here was perfectly fried. Was not prepared tableside but excellent nonetheless. Octopus - 11/10 - simple with lemon-oregano olive oil sprinkled with parsley. This had the perfect char that we crave and the pulpo was soooo melt-in-your-mouth tender. Lamb Chops - 10/10 - generous portion and very tender at medium. Baked Shrimp - 10/10 - sauce was full of garlicky goodness; shrimp was butterflied with the shell on so it had char that we love. We also had a bottle of Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough which is New Zealand's wine country. Since we discovered this Marlborough SB around Christmas, hubby has been addicted to it and has been trying different bottles from every Marlborough winemaker thatbhe finds . Highly, highly recommended and looking forward to the next time we're back in FL again!

Yelp
We went on a Sunday at 6 pm. There was no wait, but the place was jamming. For those of you who shy away because there is a no-reservation policy, heed not. The line goes fast. We were four people seated in Mick's section. He is an excellent waiter. Our first course was their fried zucchini (sticks) with a pungent garlic spread accompaniment. It is superb and comes out piping hot. Greek meatballs were next; however, they were tiny hamburger patties with a lemony sauce. We were surprised at the pattie thing, but they were unexpectedly delicious. We also had the horiatiki salad with their famous vinaigrette. It is vibrant, tangy, and delicious. Lip-smacking. Mains were chicken kabob over a bed of fluffy rice, 1/2 lemon chicken, and lamb chops. We ordered the lamb medium; they came out more on the rare side. All our meats were juicy and, mmm, mmm, good. Lemon potatoes never disappoint. Baklava could have been stickier and softer. The espresso was delicious. There is valet parking for a nominal fee.
