Our first experience dining at Green Dirt on Oak and I am definitely a fan! I really admire their concept of farm to table sustainability and locally sourced ingredients. To start, I really loved the atmosphere and this is a great date night vibe as well as somewhere to enjoy as a group. Service was very friendly and helpful as our server was kind enough to explain their concept and menu with this being our first time. We knew we absolutely had to try the cheese croquettes. I would say they are quite good but I was not blown away. The root vegetables, however, I would say are a MUST. Very delicious. For my entree, I had the Lamb Ragu and it gave me GOOSEBUMPS it was so good. Truly one of the best dishes I’ve had anywhere. Highly recommend. We would definitely dine here again! Compliments to the staff and chef.

Yesterday, I visited this restaurant for a ladies' night with 2 friends, one of them was visiting from out of town. The atmosphere was beautiful, and both male greeters—downstairs and upstairs—were warm, friendly, and welcoming, which had me excited to dine there. Unfortunately, the experience shifted when our female waitress arrived. Though polite, she lacked warmth and energy, making us feel unwelcome. We noticed she and another female server engaged other tables with enthusiasm but consistently provided mediocre service to US. The one who was not our server never even looked our way. Not that she had to or needed to, but to see her engage other tables that she was not responsible for truly stood out that she avoided ours. Our server answered our questions, but just didn’t seem like she was interested in serving US. At one point one of the female waitress encouraged a table of guests to check out the restrooms as an added piece to the atmosphere. (And she wasn’t even their waitress) as stated; they both tag teamed the tables consistently checking in on them and just simply provided a sense of welcome; which ultimately felt intentional, and as women who reflected a different complexion we stood out in the room, it was hard not to feel like we didn’t belong based on how the two waitress handled us. The discomfort led us to cut our visit short, ordering only one cocktail and a charcuterie board instead of staying for dinner. Before leaving, we checked out the rooftop and restrooms. As we did this the male bartender was kind and engaging, echoing the hospitality we felt upon arrival. As we left, both male staff members gave us a warm send-off, while our waitress didn’t even acknowledge us. Which again seemed odd. I am well aware of good service and hospitality. A simple have a great evening from her would have been nice. From the start she was unaware of her adore, or maybe not! Would I return? Possibly—but only if the energy from the female staff isn’t repeated. It was disheartening to share such an experience with my out of town guest, especially when the rest of the staff set a great example of hospitality.

Incredible, delicious and local - just fabulous! We ate dinner here and can’t wait to go back. We sat at the bar, and the experience was wonderful, can’t wait to try the other entrees and drinks! The atmosphere was relaxed and such a cool vibe - everyone was so friendly!

This is the coziest & most visually stunning restaurant atmosphere in KC! Perfect balance of modern & vintage, no detail was overlooked from the foyer/kitchen/store on 1st floor to the dinning room on 2nd floor, and my favorite-the restroom. No joke, it’s that rad! Staff was incredible. Attentive, knowledgeable, only positive energies felt. The Winter menu wasn’t our favorite, in comparison to Spring & Fall menus, but thank goodness for CHEESE! Their mac n cheese was yummy!!!

This place has a fun upscale vibe! No stone was untouched with the decor and industrial look. It was a little pricey but we felt the food was worth the cost and also due to the location in downtown KC. A perfect place for date night, a small family or work gathering or a great place to meet your friends to enjoy a night out with a few drinks, laughing and chatter. The atmophere is simple and quiet enough to hear others talk and visit nicely. We enjoyed the charcuterie board and had an afagotta for dessert. When sitting at the tables you can see the cheese room where all the cheese rests and ages. Very unique place! We enjoyed our time here and will return next time we come to KC.

we had the Mother’s Day brunch - the cheeses, meats, and entrees were delicious, and the atmosphere is great. The service, however, left a lot to be desired. With the high price of the brunch and auto-gratuity added, we felt as though we went without water for most of the meal and waited on paying the bill for far too long. Hope they up their game for “special day” brunches

Wonderful meal and wonderful service and atmosphere. Open dining space on second floor for dinner and even with most the tables full I could still hold a conversation at my table at a normal level. The food was fresh and delicious. On our way out in the first floor we stopped to admire the cheese in the case and purchased a very delicious cookie. I enjoyed the wine list that had several international options.

My family and I came here for dinner after a recommendation. As a cheese lover, this place is exactly what I needed! We tried the cheese board of 3 cheeses as an appetizer, which was very good but I personally found the selection a little too mild. I preferred their stronger cheeses like Woolly Rind (which I ended up buying) and Bossa (which I sampled in the shop downstairs). The cheese croquettes are not to be missed. We also had the lamb ragu, which was delicious and the mac & cheese, which was probably the best I've ever had with so much flavour. The drinks and desserts were equally great. The atmosphere and decoration are amazing and the dining room is very spacious. The staff were friendly and our waitress, Yanna, was so patient and helpful. It is a little on the pricier side but I understand this helps pay their staff a decent living wage, which is commendable. I don't live in the area but I'll definitely come back on another visit to KC.

This review is for the shop- I haven't been to the restaurant yet! Terrific experience. Staff is friendly and knowledgable- I got to sample cheeses before purchase! I hope they flesh out their charcuterie accoutrement a bit, they're on to something great.

We arrived wanting to eat but brunch was over and dinner wasn't until 4. So we grabbed drinks. The motif of Green Dirt is very earth friendly. I like the space and vibe. I created my own drink, Roseberry Matcha, 12oz was the only option because they were out of 16oz cups. It was decent. My mom had Mango Arnold Palmer, which was extremely tart and sour. I believe it's Katelyn who was happy to help, said that normal taste but tappered it liquid sugar. That made it better. Literally was like a sour patch candy.

Four of us had dinner at Green Dirt on July 4. We were there early and only one other table was present. The physical space is very nice. The loft style building is nicely renovated. The first floor is a coffee shop with lots of seating perhaps for lunch or brunch. The second floor is a nice sized dining room with a large bar area. The third level is an outdoor rooftop terrace where they often have a bar and live music. It's very nice. They own a lamb farm and much of the food comes directly from the farm or other farms in the area. I found the dinner menu somewhat limited. We tried half of the items and they were all very fresh and delicious. No complaints about the food whatsoever. It's seasonal, fresh and well prepared. See the menu photo. My concerns were not overwhelming but I do list them here. First, the limited dinner menu is quite pricey. For instance I had one glass of wine (5 ounces / $14) with the fried broccoli- cauliflower- broccolini, and Mac n Cheese. With tip my bill was $70. My friend ordered Summer Squash-pork-a glass of wine and he paid over $100 with tip. Prices are on the high end. Second, while our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, our service was slow. We came in at 5:15pm and did not get our bills until 7:15. A very nice bartender helped him out with our table or our wait would have been longer. There were only three tables in the house at this point. I wonder how slow it gets when the house is full? Still, we had a great evening and everybody should try this place to experience it.

Shoot I really wanted to love Green Dirt as I had heard such good things! Sadly was disappointed - but perhaps we went on an off night. Loved the ambience so definitely would try again! I'd also like to checkout the little rooftop bar next time! Service was mediocre -- honestly just a bit slow. None of the food was bad by any means, just underwhelming. We had the cheese croquettes, the spring greens, and the GDF lamburger. Again, all fine just didn't wow me!

In addition to the great cheese shop and the delicious dinner menu, Green Dirt on Oak also has an awesome brunch! Brunch is located on the first floor in the daytime cafe area. They take brunch reservations since it's not a huge area, but I didn't have to wait on a weekend for a table! The brunch menu definitely highlights the Green Dirt sheep's cheese selection with delicious cheesy breakfast sandwiches and lots of cheese board options. I got the breakfast sandwich special of the weekend, and it was so delicious. Sheep's cheese, sheep's buttermilk English muffin, and sheep sausage -- perfect feature of all that Green Dirt has to offer! I'm going to be thinking about those breakfast potatoes for a while. They are crispy on the outside and magically fluffy on the inside, and I could happily eat the Prairie Tomme aioli with a spoon. The portions are a little small for the price because of the higher cost of the sheep products, but I promise you will not be disappointed with the flavor.

The location and atmosphere is great. The menu & food leaves much to be desired. I'm not sure if the breakfast menu is limited due to trying to maintain their local farm identity but this is not a great spot for brunch. Mimosas and Bloody Mary is way overpriced. At this point I would not recommend this as a legitimate brunch place.

Enjoyed a drink and side of fries for $38 at Green Dirt on Oak. My friend and I went in earlier this month and there's a little bit of everything here. On the first floor there's a daytime shop with coffee, cheeses, and other items available to purchase. The main restaurant and dining area is on the second floor, and beyond that is a nice rooftop patio. Business appeared slow for a Sunday, there was only one other table occupied. They have really cute cocktail straws made out of hay, which I used for the Feliz cocktail I ordered. The bartender was friendly and helpful, hunting down a box of gluten free crackers for the cheeseboard my friend ordered. The rooftop patio has comfortable seating but it started sprinkling on us so we came inside - will have to revisit soon.

these cocktails are some of the best i've had in kansas city--the sesame one was insanely crushable and flavorful. the bartender was super knowledge and helpful with recommendations, and the rooftop patio is spacious with plenty of large umbrellas.

Absolutely one of the coolest spaces I've been in! I had no idea that Green Dirt was huge. The first floor has shopping, coffee, and casual seating. The second floor has an awesome bar, unique seating options, and great vibes. Definitely a fancier place but drink prices weren't outrageous. The 3 cheese cheeseboard was $25 during "cheese hour" and was plenty of food to split between 2 of us for appetizers. Service was great, ambiance was great, and the entire experience was 10/10!

Yas! We were dying to try this location because we Love Thier farm/shop in Weston. The sheep's cheeses are to die for! And the boards highlight a little bit of all their best things!! Grab your loved ones, some cocktails and eat all the cheese! Plus 3 floors of vibes to explore, much bigger than I expected. Recommend! See ya there!

The drinks were absolutely delicious! Had we not already been out for wine before arriving, I definitely would've had another! The service and ambience were also on par. A unique looking upstairs spot that felt autumnal and cozy. If I visited again though, I'd probably stop by just for drinks. The salads were fine. Our entrees weren't great.

I was worried about needing a reservation but we were able to get a table without one. Apart from being a restaurant there is also a store and a small coffeehouse seating area. I tried a lamb milk lattes with no syrup and I really enjoyed the taste and the amount of coffee served. The latte art was a little off but our server was really nice and boxed up the food I couldn't finish for me. For the quality of food I was happy about the price point for everything on the day time menu. The Mac and cheese is a must try as it was creamy and flavorful. I added the pork belly which was fatty and crispy and went well with the mushrooms.

Gorgeous Spaces, Delightful staff, and world class cuisine. We arrived for dinner for Sunday night a little confused. When you walk in from street level, there is a huge open kitchen with empty tables and chairs. One of thier culinary team popped out to direct us to the stairs on the south wall of the building. The dining room is upstairs on the second floor. We popped upstairs to host stand, checked in, snd headed to out table. The menu is succinct and is truly Farm to Table. The Lamb in her Tartare grew up in Weston and was Delicious! The cheese in the cheesecake and the yogurt in the Pavlova started out as grass in the fields before being eaten, milked, and cultured. There wasn't an average bite. There is a variety of NA options and unlimited ice tea. The only average part of the evening was the coffee which was brewed downstairs wasn't very hot... but it was also 8pm on a Sunday and I didn't want to wait for them to brew a fresh pot just for me. June took care of us and was present without being annoying, which was perfect as we were were there for almost 3 hours. We let them know we were in no hurry when they mentioned the steak does take 35 - 40 minutes to grill ( which if you have been to a nice restaurant, isn't unusual as it's cooked to order ). The amusing part of the evening arrived when we were told to make sure to check out the Ewe's ( ladies ) restroom.

Wonderful. Definitely get a small cheese board, Green Dirt is known for its house made cheeses! We got several apps to share, green tomato tempura, tomato and watermelon salad, shinshito peppers, lamb tartare, all were amazing. I got the lamb burger. If you don't like gamey meat, this isn't the burger for you. But if you do, it's juicy, tender and really flavorful. Also, please check out the bathroom. They really had no business creating a space that was so beautiful, ha!

This was the perfect place for a casual GNO. We just got a large charcuterie board and glasses of wine so didn't experience all this place has to offer of dinner, desserts, cafe, etc but for what we got, our server gave us great guidance and suggestions. You will have to find street parking but such a cute spot!

So glad we finally tried this place! We started out with a cheeseboard, beets, and cauliflower. The cheeseboard was delicious and so good to start with. The beet plate was soooooo good, I wish I could eat that plate every day! The roasted cauliflower dish was interesting, we didn't expect it to be cold. Our server was able to reccomend to us splitting our entrees which was so nice after a hefty appetizer round. The lamb ragu was amazing and the pork chops + stonefruit chutney was delicious. I enjoyed their free-spirited options as well as someone who rarely drinks. The dining space was so homey and the big bright windows were so welcoming. The desserts were not exactly what we were expecting so next time we will probably skip those. But overall, I definitely want to come back!

We were walking by and decided to see what their cheese hour was all about! All the cheese's chosen were pretty mild without a strong sheep flavor (some of the cheeses in Weston were very strong for me). Great atmosphere for a date, GNO, or a casual visit. Service was great and we were recommended to check out the restroom which was beautiful!

What a fun place to try for brunch! We learned it was their 1st week trying this out so yumm for us! First the pancakes!!!absolutely fabulous they were "small" and meant to be an appetizer but 2 fluffy big fruit & cheese covered creations with warm syrup arrived... we loved them. The were so filling we chose to share the lamb hash as well which had asparagus, zucchini, potatoes, lamb and eggs- so filling and flavorful. We really really enjoyed our 1st visit and plan to be back.

This is a great spot to get some local eats and when I say local they are doing it all. Straight from their own farm direct to the restaurant and that is why their menu changes so often. All the food was great that we had there and I'll for sure be coming back to check out the charcuterie board. They have a rooftop patio where you can bring drinks from the upstairs bar to relax while looking at the views of downtown crossroads. The staff were extremely nice and helpful for the menu so if you don't know, just ask!

Finally got to @greendirtonoak The space is huge and beautiful. The first floor is coffee and boards during the day. Then the second floor is dinner and the bar. All gorgeous and still smell like fresh cut wood and newness. The 3 star rating is all for the price of items. A $20 burger with meat that came from the farm you own and it comes without fries/side item. That is steep. I also think they over charge for the cheese. It is great but a cheese board for $36 for 5 small portions of cheese. Too rich for my blood. Staff is kind and knowledgeable of the menu. My favorite thing we tried was the Cheese Kitchen Martini. Gin, aquavit, feta brine, and pepper - it is a savory delicious cocktail. Burger was cooked well and the lamb was delicious. The cheese croquettes were great. The cheese is funky against the fried coating and sweet/tart onions. A great bite with the martini. The fried green tomatoes were wedges rather than the traditional slice which was nice and tomatoes were warm throughout. Needed more sauce and pickled veggies to match the thickness of the tomatoes and tempura. Also the pickled veggies aren't giardiniera. Giardiniera is pickled veggies with a level of heat and packed in oil (Chicago girl pet peeve) please stop calling all pickles giardiniera because you used cauliflower and celery. Overall nice experience, the prices are more than I think KC is going to be expecting to pay for some of the items.

So excited to dine at the new Green Dirt on Oak. Big fans of their restaurant and chef series in Weston. Amazing decor, food and service at this Crossroad restaurant. Dalton our server is awesome. Ask for him. The design and ambiance are outstanding. This was a car repair shop. The dining room on the second floor is where the cars were repaired, after being brought up on an elevator! We are writing this review as we eat. For starters, the Cheese Croquets, Citrus-Poached Beets, Roots n' Tubers and Brussel Sprouts are to die for. Delicious and hearty Hanger Steak and Heritage Pork Chop for entrees. Perfectly prepared. We tried several craft cocktails. Our favorites were the Feliz and Fig Jam Old Fashioned. And to finish it off, the Green Dirt Cheesecake! For a restaurant just opened, no service issues. And the restrooms are out of this world. Wow!

This restaurant has been a long time coming. And I was not disappointed. The space is beautiful- dark and sexy - the upstairs dining area kinda makes you feel like you're in a mansion or something. On my visit, we tried many things on the menu to share since it was a first time for all of us. Known for their cheese, the manager's choice cheese tray was incredible. Sourdough bread and gf crackers (upon request) plus jam and mustard accompanied our cheese. So very delightful to my palate. We also had the lamb burger - juicy and very good, Brussel sprouts- so very good but were kinda greasy. The French fries and tempura zucchini (kinda soggy for me) were just ok. The beet salad with 2 kinds of beets was light and delicious. The Mac n cheese was cheesy and flavorful and the oyster mushrooms added some complexity of texture and flavor to make it even more delicious. We also shared the green salad - equally delicious. Everything was solid good - no exaggeration. We were too full for dessert. Great wine list - rose, chilled red, Lambrusco, chenin blanc and more. Mocktails, cocktails and beer too. The women's restroom is more like a women's dressing room and great for a selfie. It also smells so good in there. During the day they serve coffee and pastries on the first floor. Didn't get to the roof but will on my next visit. Tip: if you want to go for dinner on the weekend, make your rez at least 2 weeks out. I waited a week and only 9 pm was available. And by that time, lots of items on the menu and wine list were out. Street parking available. Depending on time of day may have to circle a few times or walk a couple blocks.

I woke up and said "I'm craving tomatoes" and went online to look up who had any..only saw the menu that said heirloom tomato salad and said, "that's where we're going" bit was I glad I did! The space is beautiful and lots of room! They have an upstairs that we didn't go to but will try to see it next time! The cheese options are delicious and we LOVED the soft cheese spread. The tamale was a special and the mole and flavor was outstanding! The chef even came over and spoke to us and gave us some more insight on how he made and sourced items. We were so impressed with everything! They have delicious coffee and beverage choices and the other staff was so friendly and welcoming. The host was so kind to take our dishes and clean up our area so we could sit and enjoy our coffees in a clean environment. Will be back to try more!

Green Dirt on Oak has been a long awaited restaurant opening in the Crossroads area. They have a multi-purpose layout including coffee shop, dining area on second floor and then rooftop patio. We started with drinks as usual, which they had nice selection of cocktails and mocktails as well as wine. For food we couldn't pass up the cheese and charcuterie board, we chose to do the show me size which can serve 2-3 people. It has great selection of cheeses, meats, nuts and vegetables and even chicken liver mousse which was fabulous. We also split the spring green salad, French fries and the rabbit roulade. Of those items the French fries were bomb so highly recommend those. Overall though the food was bland and no real pop of flavor. This is a tricky review to write. Wish I could've loved it more but just couldn't. The service was awesome though, our waitress was fantastic. Been waiting awhile for Green Dirt to open up and the space was visually stunning. Loved the restoration of the original hardwood flooring and the bathrooms were so cool too! But the food...was just average. The cheese board they nailed though, can tell this is their staple item but the main dining menu definitely has room for improvement. Final review: 3.5/5 stars

Kansas City's hottest new restaurant is Green Dirt on Oak. I LOVE day trips to Green Dirt Farm in Weston and have been highly anticipating this KC location. And it did NOT disappoint. Husband started with the Feliz cocktails - because he's on a mezcal kick. And later he ordered the orange wine off of their carefully curated and natural wine list. I did a glass of the Gamay which wasn't my favorite but I LOVED my second glass, the Bordeaux Blend. The decision on what to order was as challenging as ever. We landed on the cheese croquettes - a must. The roots n tubers - which were good, very earthy, a lot of textures. The lamburger was just incredible. And the green dirt cheesecake - another must. This exciting, romantic, and open-concept dining experience in Kansas City is one that you do not want to miss out on. When you walk in, you pass the open kitchen where the food is being prepared and then make your way upstairs into the dim-lit dining space. We start our date with a bottle of wine and the Show Me charcuterie board. This board was packed with fresh and delicious cheeses, nuts, meats, dried fruits, bread, and more. I had tried some cheeses and meat that I had never experienced before which was super fun! We ordered the Smoked Lamb Mole (molé negro, pickled serrano peppers, feta cheese, cilantro, and yoli tortillas ) for dinner. The service was spectacular and they always made sure to check in on us. If you have not had the chance to check out Green Dirt on Oak in Kansas City yet, you MUST add this to your list asap. Make sure to reserve your table first!

Met a friend for a late lunch here on Saturday. We loved the 3 cheese plate and hearing about each of the cheeses and which ones are made on site. Loved this cocktail that had honey and bubbles in it for a light and spicy drink. Tried one of the specials of day which was the braised lamb tamale. It was rich but light and so delicious. We dined downstairs on the main level. Service stopped at 2 but there's a counter that does coffee, drinks, savory and sweet treats that is open all the time. Lounge areas are available to use as well as the rooftop patio which is lovely, but doesn't have service or a restroom, but still awesome to finish drinks or eat takeout from downstairs. Finally, they have a beautiful dining hall upstairs that opens at 5 for dinner. We will be back. Fun and delicious.

The Good: -the place itself is very cool! loved the decor on the walls and the ambiance -maple old fashioned was AMAZING -brussels sprouts and house fries were both really good The Not so Good: -the lamb burger was just okay, my bun was kind of burnt so that mixed with a smoky meat flavor was kind of off. -the mac and cheese has no flavor. we had to ask for pepper to make it eatable The verdict: Would definitely come back for happy hour but not worth the money for dinner.

I like the vibe of the restaurant and the rooftop space. The rooftop has plenty of seating and you are welcome to bring your drinks up there, but there is no wait service. That actually made it a nice, quiet place to hang out and visit. We started our night on the rooftop with a couple of cocktails and I'd say they were very well made. We were celebrating our anniversary and they added some nice extra touches for us. They seated us at their "most intimate" table that they called the "hot tub". It was a fun spot and they treated us to glasses of champagne upon seating us. We started with a 3 cheese board and thoroughly enjoyed the selection they chose for us. They offer most of their dishes in portions meant to share, so they bring them out individually. We ordered carrots, pork and braised lamb. It was all good, but I thought the pork and carrots were more flavorful than the lamb. We decided to end the night with the cheesecake and it was fantastic. Light and airy and not a heavy dessert.

Stopped in at lunchtime before a show at the Music Hall and was not disappointed! We ordered a glass of wine and the Monger's Choice cheese plate to start and then the seasonal special, which was a delicious peach and pork belly crostata. Lunch dining is casual, on the lower level and there is an inviting coffee shop there as well. They make several cheeses in house and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The prices are a bit high but that crostata was worth it! I really want to go back and have a cocktail on the upper level. Great addition to the Crossroads area!

Tried this place out for the first time a few weeks ago. It's a cute little cafe/bar on a corner with excellent service! Stopped in for a late lunch and a glass of wine. The kitchen closes between 2 & 5, so make sure to check their hours before you go. The cheese & charcuterie & coffee shop is open all day. It's all locally-grown ingredients and the aioli that comes with the fries is to die for! I was sad to be too late to try the cinnamon roll....it looks amazing! Can't wait to go back!

We were walking by Green Dirt and as we were perusing the menu, a couple walked by and said, "It's so good. We ate here tonight. Eat here." So we did! I honestly thought cheese was cheese, but I was dead wrong. Thankfully we made the decision to order a cheese plate and OMG wow. This cheese is life changing. We also ordered a Veggie Tempura and it was incredible. The service and the restaurant itself were fantastic. My only ???? is that I ordered a draft beer and it came in a highball glass. It was the price of a 16+ ounce beer at any other restaurant but this pour was small. Overall, it was a lovely and unexpected experience and we will be back.

Grabbed a drink and some food here with a friend. First, the space is AMAZING. It is stunning - from the dining room to the bathrooms, I was in awe. Service was great. My martini was incredible, and I'd go back for another one in a heartbeat. Food was good. The lamb burger and the croquettes were delish! I didn't love the fried green tomatoes, I felt like there was too much batter for the amount of green tomato. Fair warning, the place is pricey, but could be good for a special occasion!

The place is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is incredible. First floor is retail and has some table what I'm assuming is for daytime? The upstairs for dinner was my experience. It was beautiful! Even the restrooms are beautiful! You can watch the kitchen too which was pretty neat. The food, oh my goodness the food was amazing!! My husband and I shared a 3 pick cheese plate and braised lamb. For dessert we had the blueberry tart. Everything was incredible. My only complaint is the prices are extremely high for local farm to table. I'd still come back but ouch. $28 for the cheese plate and $42 for the lamb which came out on a teeny tiny plate. It seriously was so very good though.

A charming space with booth and windowside table seating, a coffee bar and a retail cheese counter. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich with fries and my wife had the mac and cheese. After having an over the top Monte Cristo the week prior with a thick batter coating, I felt a bit underwhelmed when my more modest offering from Green Dirt arrived at our table. There was no batter coating nor deep fried; the bread was given a milk and egg bath and pan grilled similar to french toast. Although lacking in batter, the tender locally sourced ham and the fresh in-house made sheep milk cheese certainly made up for any outer appearance issues. The berry mostarda sauce was exceptional for dipping. The parmesan fries with aoili were a great side dish, although salad was a second option. My wife's mac and cheese that I sampled was exquisite with it's sheep's milk cheese sauce and pungent oyster mushrooms. We are eager to return just to sample the cheese board sampler. Efficient service from our waiter.

Made a rez finally for our first visit to to Green Dirt on Oak and wow! First, no wonder the space took time to build: it's spectacular! Every angle and surface is planned thoughtfully. The bathrooms are nicer than my living room (by a lot). I loved the peek down into the kitchen on our way up the stairs for dinner. And I'm a sucker for great soft chairs and a few candles for ambiance. We absolutely must go back to try more of the menu, but what we picked were all winners: Cheese Croquettes with a hint of funk, sherry onions and truffle honey (!) Roots and Tubers: sweet potato, carrot and turnip with an insane amount of spice and plenty of salt. Mayyyybe my fave: Tempura Zucchini chunks with sumac dusted creamy cheese and torn mint. So many flavors and textures! Not pictured: the lamb chops, which were superb (I mean, obviously). Cooked perfectly, with a delicious spiced and salted crust, and this dreamy tahini and black garlic sauce that mixed with the warm lamb juices and was just excellent. Nice glass of a light chilled red (love the glassware!) but Brian's fave drink was the fig old fashioned. I loved my lemon-vodka-bitters drink (forgot the name): no sweetness, all refreshing and palette preparing. Can't wait for lunch service to begin soon and will absolutely be back for dinner cause that lamb burger walked by us and I almost had to order it too... Plus I hear the cheesecake is fantastic!

The dirt on Green Dirt is that it is marvelous! My fella and I had Easter brunch and the food, the ambience and especially the staff were top-notch! Every item on the charcuterie table was chef's kiss-delicious, including a spread of sheep's cheeses that was mouthwatering. Our cocktails were pretty and perfect. I had Green Dirt Fresh Cheese Pancakes with whipped fresh cheese, berries and maple syrup and WOW! Why don't more pancakes come topped with cheese?!? The Croque Madame (my guy's plate) was also a real treat. The restrooms - for Ewes and Rams - were so lovely I did not want to come out. A set of reading materials and lounging seats inside were swoonworthy. When we were stuffed, the staff kindly brought us to-go boxes to take home more of the charcuterie spread: smoked salmon, fresh cheese and fruit, chocolate chip cookies, brownies and several breads and crackers. We were the only patrons there at 2:30 and we felt like special guests being showered with genuine kindness and care. We felt almost selfish having all this wonderful stuff all to ourselves. We also recommend that more people visit Green Dirt on Oak!

Was really excited to give this new spot a try, but our experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The drinks - really happy with the selection and quality. I had a fig jam old fashioned and a nice glass of wine. The food - The board and Brussel sprouts were the winners of the dinner. The cheese croquettes were served room temperature which was not what we were hoping for and the Mac and cheese was really disappointing for a restaurant with an award winning cheese. The service - timely and friendly The verdict - Hoping it is just some growing pains, but for now we will be back for a happy hour but likely won't stick around for the dinner.

Had reservations for 4 on Friday night at 6pm. Parking wasn't bad, found a spot not far from entrance. We had no issues with getting seated quickly. I will say to get to our table we had to walk up about 20 stairs, I'm sure there is an elevator, but I definitely wasn't expecting all the steps. I really love the way this place looks! It is very nice and upscale looking. The drinks were strong and the food was good but all were pricey. The cheese croquettes were ooey gooey, the lamb burger, I was told was perfection, and the pot pie was amazing! One thing I didn't usually brag on in reviews are the bathrooms, but this one was BEAUTIFUL! I would not mind just sitting in the little couch area having a drink in there. The patio area is also really nice. You have a few views of the city and it was a perfect temperature. I will come back here for sure ; I just need to budget because it is a bit more on the expensive side.

The sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and offered excellent pairings. We were there with a large group for a reunion and they were incredibly gracious and accommodating. a do not miss farm to table experience in the heartland.

First time visit and an absolute wonderful dining experience. Service was outstanding from the welcoming at the host desk, our table side server and the retail area downstairs. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and offering up suggestions. The dining area offered up a great vibe and dining atmosphere. The food was well prepared and had great depth of flavors. The cheese and charcuterie board was the definite star of our dining experience tonight.
