Green Rhino - Review - Roma - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"This Roma bakery is the brainchild of renowned baking wizard Richard Hart. So naturally, the line wraps around the block, and the wait is worth it. Your reward is a guava roll, a front runner for the city’s best, with its sticky caramel exterior and flaky-crunchy edges (it’s so light it could float). The scene-stealer is their savory requesón and ‘nduja roll that’s buttery, spicy, and salty at once—order two: one for now, one for the walk home. And never leave without a loaf of bread, specifically the Rye-No sourdough, a chewy, crusty thing that’s leveled up by lightly baked rye grains. This operation is essentially an open kitchen, meaning you might catch Richard himself in dough mode, or his wife Henrietta brewing up small-batch teas she sources from farmers around the world." - Guillaume Guevara

This place is definitely a win for aesthetics. If you're looking for a trendy spot to post or hang out, it's fantastic. One of the coolest parts was being able to watch the bakers at work, which added a unique and memorable touch to the visit. The pastries looked beautiful, but some were on the dry side and didn’t quite match the price point in terms of flavor. While it’s a great experience overall, there are nearby spots that offer stronger pastry and espresso options.

This bakery has become very viral, so we had to go. We decided to go on a Monday at 9 a.m. to avoid the long lines and big crowds. It's more recommendable to go on a weekday morning to avoid so many people. The bread is delicious, and the chef is very famous for his international bakeries. If you're in Mexico, don't hesitate to visit; it won't disappoint you.

Hip venue with indoor seating. The pastries were original and tasty. Good drinks. Service needs to improve as it was super slow and disorganized, a lot of staff does not help with efficiency.

I really enjoyed everything I tried here especially the Maza Maza. I went on a Monday around 1pm and there was no line out the door. I was able to order quickly and head out with my pastries after a few minutes.

After a long wait I’m so happy to report that green rhino has the best baked goods I’ve ever had! Their coffee is also exceptional made by the warmest and most hospitable blonde guy! Safe to say I’ll be back 🩷💚

This is one of the coolest experiences because you get a behind the scenes look into a bakery! You feel like you are right there with them. I wish their team could walk us through and explain their pastries and had a more wholesome experience. I would say the customer experience is not that great. But other than that the concept is brilliant!

Eat It. Love It.

Excellent addition to the neighborhood. Yummy savory pastries, beautiful bread loafs, expertly crafted. Recommend getting something to eat on-site so you can enjoy watching the chefs at work in the open kitchen and the heavenly bread smells.
