NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"One of our favorite bagel shops in Bed-Stuy now has a second location in the West Village. Greenberg’s original location can be quite a scene, so be prepared to wear a 1940s Monica Vitti headscarf if all you want is to slip in incognito for a BEC." - Will Hartman, Willa Moore

Bakery Banh by Lauren Is Opening in Manhattan’s Chinatown - Eater NY

"Bed-Stuy bagel shop Greenberg’s is opening its first location in Manhattan this winter. It will share an address — and kitchen — with Demo on 34 Carmine Street, in the West Village. The crossover of the two spaces comes from Ian Henderson-Charnow, a partner at Greenberg’s, as well as an owner of Demo." - Emma Orlow

Greenberg’s Bagels Review - Bedford-Stuyvesant - New York - The Infatuation

"Greenberg’s is more than just an excellent bagel shop. It’s the place to be on a weekend morning in Bed-Stuy. Walking by this spot any time after 8am on Saturday is like passing Pier 59 during NYFW - from microscopic Telfar bags to sunglasses bigger than ski goggles, trends are on full display. Other than to people-watch, come to Greenberg’s for thin and soft bagels that taste like they were baked a few moments before they reach your mouth. The sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich is excellent with an added hashbrown - the crunch from both the crispy bagel and fried potatoes combination will likely pop up every once in a while in your daydreams." - Nikko Duren

TAKEAWAY ONLY. Friendly service but no tables to sit and eat at the actual store. Washington Square Park is only about 5min walk away though, beautiful to eat there. Definitely one of the better bagels I’ve had— toasted well, a bit of crunch on the outside but warm and softer on the inside. Got egg whites with white cheddar cheese on a toasted whole wheat bagel. I would’ve liked a bit more seasoning though. Would love another visit to try their cream cheese varieties 😋

Google
I got the Brooklyn Special because it was such a hodge podge of ingredients that I had to try it. And it was my favorite breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had! I was the only person in there and it took over 10 mins to get the bagel, but other than that no complaints! No seating! Washington square park 6 min walk away. $14

Google
I made my order via Seamless for pickup. It was a Pastrami, Fried Egg, and Cheese on a Sesame Bun lightly toasted. Came out great. I would of liked the egg a bit fried but that's personal preference. I will definitely be trying the other sandwiches on the menu soon .

Google
Below average bagel. Asked for creme cheese, but didn't get any. $14 for salmon on a barely toasted bagel. Won't be back.

Google
Great pastrami salmon (5*) in a pretty terrible bagel (1*). The bagel was super dense and dry, and just felt really stale. Not what you’d expect on a Sunday morning.

Google
Small on space, big on taste and quality. No seating but all the variety of bagels and bagel sandwiches you might be able to think of. They are generous with their toppings and pretty damn popular.

Google
We ordered a whole wheat everything bagel with egg and cheese + a hashbrown on ubereats. It was delicious and the portion was quite generous. The hashbrown was a tad salty but we didn’t mind it. They also have great buy 1 get 1 free offers on the delivery app, which makes it a great breakfast deal.

Quick order service online, reasonable prices and great quality! We had a BEC and Country Fair BEC + hash brown and all was delicious! Great new neighborhood spot!

Yelp
I was a Tompkins Square Bagel man until I went to Greenbergs.. I can firmly say this is a legit contender for best bagel in the city. Try the Shakshuka bagel + bacon, hashbrowns & hot honey - trust me, can't go wrong.

Yelp
They messed up my order in multiple ways. I asked for strawberry cream cheese and they gave me regular cream cheese. No hot sauce for the bacon, egg and cheese, as requested. The cream cheese mess up pretty much ruined my morning. Bagel was also small.

Yelp
When I saw their colabs with hometown BBQ, without any hesitation, I had to give it a try. Pastrami by Hometown BBQ is my all time best pastrami among the entire country(yes, better than Katz's and Langer's from LA). Yes, the portion of pastrami is better than the first time. Yes, the quality of pastrami is way better. However, I would say either the egg or the bagel was overly seasoned. The saltiness overshadowed the meat, made it an ordinary egg & cheese bagel, which was such a pity. The shop is kinda small, it was a rainy day I visited, and I couldn't wait for my bagel indoors. Nonetheless, the staff is warm and welcoming, I had a pick up at 11:00 but I was there at 8:00 and they, without hesitation, made my order right away.

Yelp
Went into NYC to meet my Daughter and her boyfriend. We decided to try Greenberg's Bagels. So glad we did. No seating inside and the place is bustling. The bagels smelled amazing. So you place order and pay and then wait outside. Was a. Ice day out so not bad waiting outside. We got our bagels and headed to Washington Square Park to eat. My daughter and I each got a pastrami egg and cheese. Mine on pumpernickel and hers on everything bagel. Her boyfriend got an everything with smoked salmon and cream cheese. He seemed to really like it. My pumpernickel was perfect and the Pastrami Egg and cheese was delicious. Ditto for my Daughter. I highly recommend this place. Just wish they had seating. People were nice and worth the wait.

Yelp
I've been away from NYC so long I forgot what a real bagel tastes like! These were the real thing. Chewy mouthfulness. Everything everywhere all at once. Gigantic pieces of smoked salmon and cream cheese. Yumminy yumness. Bought a half dozen to take back to the forsaken land of California with me. And a salmon and cream cheese for lunch. While I thought the made sandwich was expensive when I got it, when I ate it all thoughts of regret melted away. What i would give for this to be in oakland and not the lower west side. Sigh.

Yelp
The world needs more bagel joints. Simple shop, doing the basics well. Soft, chewy bagels. The everything bagel had seasoning on both sides, earning points in my book. Lost a star for cream cheese application, felt like it was cut off a block, not smoothed or spread on to the bagel. Easy fix. Decent price $16 for two bagels with cream cheese and a small coffee. A little sad that the bagels are tucked/stored on the side. I'd love them to be front and center!

Yelp
Went to this Greenberg's bagel on opening day in the west village. Was pleasantly surprised that they were giving away free bagels for their opening day. I got a poppy seed, sesame seed, and an everything bagel. They were all very good. Their bagels have the perfect texture with enough firmness but still maintaining a nice chewy texture. I've missed them since moving to Manhattan, from Brooklyn, last year. If ever in the area, would say it's very much worth a stop. Staff were all very friendly so would definitely recommend

Yelp
Solid bagels, nothing too extraordinary, but I would still come back. Make sure to get the bagels toasted.

Yelp
There was a line at this place so we thought it would be good. The bagel were good size but expensive. It also lacked salt so did the garlic confit cream cheese and the chive cream cheese. We were very disappointed and we took this from NYC to another state to share with family

Yelp
Do not sleep on their crispy chicken sandwhich. It's seriously one of the best in the city.

Yelp
Really excited they decided to open a west village location. The west village, in my opinion, does not have any good bagel spots but Greenberg's definitely hits the mark. Whether it's the bagels themselves or a BEC, everything I've had here is as good as any bagel spot I've been to in New York - and as good as what I used to have to leave west village to get. West village finally has a real bagel spot (I don't count pop up because they don't sell bagel sandwiches).

Yelp
Who's heard of a bagel store that opens at 8am? Was literally the first in line and it took 15 minutes to make and everything and cream cheese bagel with in any other bagel store in NY takes less than two minutes... the bagel itself was not even fresh and I came when they opened!

Tom H.

Yelp
Over $22 for 4 egg whites and bacon on sesame bagel.... It was good... but no better than places I get the same for $10

Sammy C.

Yelp
Adequate bagel. Unfortunately it suffers a bit from being baked off premises...several hours from fresh. Not terrible, but they do start to get a bit spongy. The benchmark is Pop-Up bagels on Thompson Street. There's a reason there's long lines at that place. Right out of the oven and fresh and warm with a right amount of crisp. Additionally, hereI asked for a light spread of butter, and either they misread the order slip or their version of "lite" is a cardiologist's concern. And finally, the so-called napkins they give you are those rough bathroom dispenser paper towels. A bit strange strange for an eatery. In summary, it's a sufficient bagel. l haven't tried the sandwiches yet but I'll be back., it's certainly convenient for this neighborhood.

Yelp
One of the worst breakfast sandwiches I've had in NYC. The eggs and bacon both tasted like they were microwaved, which isn't shocking since they cook in a back room where no customers can see. The bagel was also was dry. Any bodega is a better option. Will not go back.
