Google
Excellent place for a beer and food. Full bar with ciders and wine. Lots of burger options. The truffle burger is ok, more like a onion and mushroom burger unfortunately. The sweet potatoes are puff style, served piping hot with a good sauce on the side. Great selection of carry out at decent prices. The merch is nice but a little over priced.

Google
Happy hour with a Hop Passport! What a deal. They have a wide selection of beer and ciders that anyone would enjoy. While brewery hopping we decided to get their French bread pizza and it hit the spot. It was so good with their ranch and it seemed like very fresh bread. I do wish that it was cooked a little longer but definitely is worth the happy hour deal and I would get it getting again.

*2025- still holdin it down..* Came for the Flying Buffalo, and it wasn't available?! But.. they gave me something even Better!! The cherry night nectar! Absolutely savage! A must try for the pro BA stout drinker. Definitely need to bottle/can it! And distribute. steak bites were delicious, and all the other food looked! Really good. The interior design is gorgeous and the bartenders that took care of me were amazing 🍻 gets alil busy on most days but I always find a spot at the bar!

Google
This place has it together. Everything we had had from menu' from smash burgers to fish and chips are great. Bartenders are friendly and attentive. Great beer selection but my only complaint is terrible/limited wine selection for those who don't drink beer. They need to add a decent Chardonnay and Cabernet to the list.

Google
Great place to hang out with family and friends if you don't mind the noise level. Good food and wonderful selection of tasty beers and hard ciders!

Google
Absolutely loved my visit to Griffin Claw Clubhouse! The beer was top-notch—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly crafted. Great atmosphere and friendly service too. Definitely a five-star experience!

Google
App: cheese curds Dinner: Pesto chicken wrap and blackened chicken gnocchi Smallish portions for the price (I know those ingredients aren't crunchy-mom-approved), but I liked the shoestring fries and everything tasted pretty good 😎

Google
New Favorite Unlocked! I sat at the bar near the kitchen exit. ALL the food their servers ran looked delicious! My bartenders were super friendly and helped me select the perfect beer. Their beer is delicious as well. I would pick this place on food alone, but the atmosphere will reassure you, you've made the right choice.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday afternoon not too busy. Place was super clean and staff was very nice and friendly. We an order of the pretzel bites with beer cheese was absolutely delicious I could eat this as a meal alone. The triple Mac n cheese tasted divine. The cast iron chicken pot pie was absolutely scrumptious I will be back to have this also. Everything we ate was cooked to perfection. Of course I took no photos because it was so good but I got these.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but too many things fell short. Service was the only bright spot as it was efficient. I had the Turkey Reuben & fries and it was about as appetizing as the pictures indicates - it was mostly bread with not much in-between. Fries were fine, but I'm personally not a fan of super skinny fries. I tried two flights of beer and besides the pumpkin ale, all others were very unforgettable.

Yelp
I love their beer and can't wait to try the spirits! Had the southwest salad for lunch today, my buddy had the chicken Caesar. Both were perfect. Plenty tv's for sports peeping. Will definitely come back. The server allie O was great.

Yelp
This is an excellent restaurant that always packs in a crowd. They have an incredible beer selection, which is kind of what they're known for, but I like many of the food options they offer as well over the years. The pretzel burger has been a consistent, reliable choice I'm my most recent visit. I had the hanger steak and I thought that was absolutely fantastic. Steak was perfectly cooked. The fries are fresh and crispy in the Chop or zip sauce that came with the dish was absolutely over the top completely. Enjoyed it. No hesitation to go back.

Yelp
Love the decor here. Breweries need to stand out in aesthetics and food, not just beer. Im pleased to say, GC does all of the above. My bartender, May, was very cool. Ordered the, Great White Buffalo. It was a beast at 11%. The Cherry cider was too. I went to their other location a few days later and ate. Very good!

Mike B.

Yelp
Great food, great beer and a cool atmosphere. The menu is traditional but with a unique spin on each dish.

Yelp
I've enjoyed Griffin Claw's brews for some time, and I'm glad this was on the way to an appointment, right off M-59 on Crooks. Brewpubs have gotten smart in recent years, adding good food options and liquor. My wife appreciates that last bit...she liked the Moscow Mule. The brewed options here really set Griffin Claw apart from other brewpubs, with great vodka and soda options blended with fruit juice on tap, or you can get these in cans at the shop that you walk past at the entrance. And, there are some really ambitious beers, including paczki and marshmallow flavored stouts. The Glass Armor barley wine is superb...smooth, with a robust barley flavor...and a massive 13% alcohol. For $9, you get a 10 ounce glass...it's like drinking 3 beers at once, but you won't know it until you try to stand up. The food here is good enough that I would seriously eat here even if they didn't have the beer. The Not Popeye's Chicken Sandwich is...a damn good impersonation of a Popeye's sandwich. There's a massive crunch and terrific flavor. It's served with a chipotle mayo that perfectly compliments it. I got the sweet potato tots as a side. The sweetness makes it an acquired taste - I wish they had regular tots - but they're not bad. The salmon sandwich is mind blowing. You can't tell from the picture, but it's a 3 inch thick plank of beautifully prepared salmon. Really. The shoestring fries are a great compliment. Eating all of that in a single sitting is a real challenge. We took half of it home. The service is really good. The waiters are - and I do mean this as a compliment - dudes dressed casually rather than wearing a company uniform. It does set the mood for a casual dinner with drinks. The prices are appropriate for the massive portions and the quality. Definitely worth a return trip.

Yelp
Great spot! Drinks are great - can't wait for the food! The ambiance is cozy & there is plenty of space for groups or parties. We loved the options & the food. We sat outside on the patio & everything was perfect. Our server was amazing- I wish I remembered her name! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
We have never been to Griffin Claw before and decided to try it while in town. WOW are we glad that we did! We joined the waitlist on Yelp. When we were seated our server greeted us right away. He brought our drinks out very soon after that as well. I started with the Fineapple cider and it was crisp and refreshing! Great Apple and pineapple flavors. We started with the garlic cheese curds and they were phenomenal. Weirdly enough, the marinara dipping sauce was really good. My husband and son had the soup of the day, which was a beef stew and they both loved it. I had the French onion soup and it was perfect. I loved the addition of the crispy onions on top as well. I had the fish and chips and oh myyyyyy goshhhh. So crispy, so flavorful, buttery, and delicious. Loved the coleslaw. Loved the fries. So so good! They were served super hot and fresh. Yum! I asked my server to surprise me with my next cider and he chose the Blah Blah Burst, which was blue. It was AMAZING. It was their spin on Baja Blast as a cider. Overall, amazing dinner here. Loved the atmosphere. Loved the decor. Loved all of the TVs with college football on.

Yelp
Fast, friendly service. Good drinks but I didn't really enjoy my chicken and mashed potatoes. Husband loved his chicken pie. Cool decor, nice lighting. I understand this is a brew pub and we visited on a weekend so everything had been thoroughly cleaned in the brewing/bottling area; unfortunately this meant a distinct whiff of bleach was in the air. It is what it is. Super nice experience otherwise.

Yelp
Great food. Loved the sliders and I am not a big sliders person. Loved the steak and their drinks. Really enjoyed the ambiance. The servers were friendly and offered us help when we couldn't decide what to get. One of the places that I definitely would visit again whenever I'm in Michigan.

Yelp
I stopped in yesterday for dinner and had a Truffle burger and fries. The burger was excellent and cooked to perfection. The fries are the shoestring style and probably my least favorite type of fry. There is ample parking and there is a lot of seating with a big patio area. I have been there a few times and there has been a wait, but yesterday I was able to find a spot at the bar with no issue. Service was excellent yesterday. The bartenders were very attentive and friendly. There is a nice selection of beer/cider cans for sale as well as other brewery swag (shirts, etc).

Yelp
Me & my daughter were just sitting in a restaurant in San Francisco yesterday talking about how we can't wait to move back to Michigan in the spring & take the kids to Griffin Claw so there's that!! We totally dig this place & haven't had a meal or experience we didn't enjoy. The sauce that goes with the steak bites is to die for & I like to get it & use it for my French dip or the fries. The service is always great & yeah....can't wait to get back.

Yelp
Best burgers in the Rochester area! Try the pretzel bun, and order your meat 'pink' so you can savor the custom blended grind of beef. Oh, and order a beer while you're there!

Truc V.

Yelp
We had a great time sampling the stout's yesterday. They were excellent. The food was tasty and quickly brought out-and hot! The service was awesome and the take home container is made of paper (instead of poisonous styrofoam-thank you)

Yelp
UPDATE from below: The manager kindly reached out to me. He reached out to me and addressed my concern. My husband and I are planning to return to the restaurant soon! Right when we got there it wasn't busy. I asked to be seated outside in the shade (hostess said we could move umbrellas for shade). A waitress hurriedly sat us outside. We tried to move the umbrella shade and it was far too heavy to move. We waited out there for about 10 minutes and saw others being waited on (the others, a table of 4, got waited on before us). We waited a little longer and still no menus or service so we left. Was very disappointed in the service.

Yelp
Great service last night our server was amazing and she made great recommendations! The mulled sangria was delicious the Smokey old friend was spot on! Everyone loved the wings and would highly recommend the munchwrap superb( even has a vegetarian option). Great selection of craft beers and seasonal cocktails!

Eric Y.

Yelp
One of the best local beers in town! Great food and good Happy Hour choices! I'm glad to have tried the new BBA stouts!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing Food! A+ Service all the way around! Best Paloma I've had! Good music, clean bathrooms and eclectic interior make this a must try.
google avatar

Yelp
Super great brewery! I am more of a cider drinker, so I got a build your own cider flight. Our server was great in helping us decide what one's to try. She recommended the Blah Blah Blurst, and it was great. We sat outside on a nice sunny day and it was perfect. Even though it is located next to a major road, it was not too loud. Would come here again for sure!
google avatar

Jim R.

Yelp
Been here multiple times and always have a good time. Today we had some beer and sangria with the Buffalo chicken sandwich and French onion soup, and the chicken tenders. Love the hand battered, light crunch chicken tenders. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was a big piece of chicken on a good pretzel bun. The French onion soup was ok, and the fries were cold
google avatar

Donna B.

Yelp
I love this place! The happy hour specials are a great deal! Their Baja cider is delicious!
google avatar

Bella M.

Yelp
I'm almost positive our serves name was Mae, she was so patient with us and helped me pick out what to eat! I had the salmon sandwich but switched it out with chicken and it was phenomenal! The fries were sooo good too!
google avatar

Ahren S.

Yelp
It is hard to pick your favorite brewery with over 150 in just a little drive. Definitely most go to spot if your in the beer crawl.
google avatar

George K.

Yelp
Good food and excellent service. This is my third time in two months. You can't go wrong.

Norm J.

Yelp
Visit was on a Sunday afternoon. Natasha met us serving for the two hours in the outside area of our visit. She made the experience the best. The beer was good. Not many places have a decent Pilsner. Fried avacado very good. We will be back.
google avatar

Madison D.

Yelp
I typically frequent the location in Birmingham, however this location still upholds the awesome standards here at griffin claw. Love this place a lot. Perfect spot to watch the game, their food is super good & their beer and cider is sooooo good as well. Awesome spot doing awesome things.

Becky W.

Yelp
Good food and good service without breaking the bank. Not too crowded because it has lots of tables. Friendly

Paulo M.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this place enough! It has quickly become one of my favorite spots to dine. The steak and fries are exceptional, and I always make sure to add mushrooms for an extra touch of flavor. The only thing that could make it better is a larger portion of fries with the steak. The hamburgers here are also top-notch - they're juicy without being greasy, just perfect. My go-to order is their hamburger with bacon, avocado, and mushrooms, and it never disappoints. This restaurant has truly mastered the art of creating delicious and satisfying meals.

Matthew R.

Yelp
Hanger steak cooked perfectly 5 stars bravo Manger made a table touch and made our night seriously impressed

Yelp
Let me see yelpers, what makes a good craft brew house?? Beer - check Burger - check Pretzel nugs w/beer cheese - check Nonis meatballs - check Nashville hot chicken sandwich - check Griffin claw beer - check!! I am partial to the BIP - just don't have too many or you will for sure get BIP'd ;) Bar staff has been there for a while, tells you the place is managed well and everyone likes their job. Claw your way down and get some brews!

Jan H.

Yelp
The petzel burger was good but the habanero jack cheese was undetectable. I love the kick of a spicy cheese but this did not have any! The salty pretzel bun was outstanding and they ware cooked to order. Add some more cheese and we'll be back for this burger. I did have the worst Cosmopolitan ever. Too bad because I usually drink 2 or 3. Not this time, it was so bad but I get it, you're a brewery.

Holly G.

Yelp
Nick was a great help in walking us thru the menu. Excellent tacos and fish and chips. The cole slaw and pico de gallo were fresh and good. The beer was so good that we took some home.

Yelp
I came here on a Thursday at 5 PM. I'm glad I came that time because by 5:45, there was a pretty long wait. I always put myself on the waitlist as soon as I'm on my way to avoid waiting longer than needed The food was delicious. The French onion soup was really good and different since it has the onion straws (I don't remember if there were croutons inside or not) . I ordered a happy hour entree and it was a good size for someone who isn't super hungry. It's enough to fill you up or even for a kid, but it is very tiny. The nachos are awesome and so is the southwest avocado salad. My friend also enjoyed her custom burger. Will be back soon. Oh, and the flights are great per usual. As usual, I only got stouts but they have only Flying Buffalo brand and will not refill nor fill a growler with a stout.
google avatar

Bri V.

Yelp
I was not impressed with the menu. They lacked vegetarian options, no salads or sandwiches that were vegetarian or vegan. The only options were a veggie burger or mac and cheese. The burger actually sounded delicious, but it had jalapeños in the patty and I can't eat jalapeños or impossible patty (we don't eat soy). So, mac and cheese it was for me. The mac and cheese was lukewarm and had a lot of bread crumbs, which is not my favorite style of mac and cheese. I tried some of husbands fries and they were great! If he was writing this review, it would have been more stars. He really enjoyed his burger and beers that he sampled. Overall the Christmas decorations were a nice touch to the ambiance and the server was great. I just personally wish they had more vegan/vegetarian options. They could easily add a salad and a veggie sandwich with ingredients they already have.
google avatar

Bert V.

Yelp
Good food, beer selection and friendly staff. Always plays my favorite Sirius XM station too, 1st Wave!

Yelp
Had a great time at Griffin Claw! We called ahead of time hoping we'd be able to make reservations. But the only way to make reservations is actually through Yelp. That ended up working for us and we were seated within 10 mins even though it was extremely crowded. There are tons of beer selections, I wish I could have tried more. But the flights are fun and you can pick from both the ciders and beers. Food was also good, but not anything special or extraordinary. Although was a big fan of the Pickle Fries, those were delicious. One thing I wasn't a huge fan of was how loud he was in the restaurant. It was packed and there were lots of TVs everywhere and some music playing overhead; just lots going on all at once. But overall enjoyed Griffin Claw!
google avatar

Ana G.

Yelp
Good food. Happy friendly service. Attentive. Clean and welcoming atmosphere. We will def go back
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
This place was cool. Plenty of great beer, and they even distill thier own potato vodka, and several whiskeys. Food was ok... but the deep fried pb&j was scary good. Proceed with caution.

Chris W.

Yelp
Do not eat here, you will get food poisoning. I had a chicken sandwich with their special sauce, the sauce was bad.
google avatar

Karley M.

Yelp
No complaints here! My husband and I stopped in and had an amazing meal and drinks. Service was quick when sitting at the bar. Menu had a lot to offer for everyone and there was a lot of space to sit. I'd definitely go back!
google avatar

Abigail C.

Yelp
I would suggest getting on the wait list as Griffin Claw seems to be a popular place. There is a large private parking. The décor will grab your attention as there so many things hanging from the walls and ceiling like bikes, tv telescopes etc. If you like a cider that NOT just from apples then this would be a good find for you. So Griffin Claw has a QR code at the table you scan for the menu. I was not sure if I would like the ciders so I tried a sample of Pink Lady and thought it was not my cup of cider. I enjoyed the Cheap Cran Cherrykee which has black cherries, cranberry and is on the sweeter side. We shared the pretzel and cheese dip for the appetizer which was very tasty . For the entrée, I had the Mac n Cheese which was good, but a little too oily. Overall, Griffin Claw is worth trying out on a date night or with the kids.

Janet C.

Yelp
Hmmm...this is a tough one. Food was excellent. Their homemade root beer was amazing. The atmosphere was great. The 2 problems were the price for what we ordered and the service was horrible. Our server dropped off the food, brought the check before we even started eating and never came back to check on us for the food or refills. s a former server myself, you are expected to come check in a minute or two, but that never happened. Not sure if we will be back anytime soon. I gave him a very nice tip because I paid immediately. Should have waited...

Yelp
Needed a place to go that was close to home for a quick but relaxing dinner. That is exactly what we got when coming to Griffin Claw Clubhouse. I got on Yelp and signed up for waitlist to get us a seat. I requested to sit outside. When we arrived, we were greeted right away by the hostess and taken to a picnic table outside. The inside is dark but open, lots of places to sit and an impressive bar. The patio is the length of the entrance to the back by the brewery. Some fire pits and casual seating along with picnic tables. Relaxed and welcoming vibe. Staff were wearing masks, sanitizing tables in between patrons, and distancing seating. Our waitress was awesome - she was attentive and honest regarding menu options. She also gave us a sample of a cider that she thinks we would like. Such nice hospitality! Lots of options for drink and food - I am a hard cider fan and was so impressed to see so many hard cider options on tap! I went with the Rose and my husband went with the Fine Apple Cider - both were so delicious. Food wise - elevated bar food but still approachable. Tons of apps, sandwiches, salads, and entrees. The Papa Leos Pierogi were the perfect starter for our meal. 4 good size pierogis and flavorful. The French Onion Soup was cheesy goodness and loved the crunchy onions on top. The PVR Tacos were delicious and filling - shrimp was crunchy, and the bang bang sauce was spot on. I upgraded to fries instead of the chips and it was worth the upgrade. My husband got the Nifty's Choice Burger and was happy with the cook and burger. Portion sizes are good and hearty. Had a great experience and cannot wait to return!

Yelp
Stopped here on a Saturday, was driving around and remembered I always wanted to check this place out! Came during dinner rush so wasn't sure what to expect. We were quickly sat and greeted by our friendly server. Was so surprised to see a fall beer on the menu for august already, but to my surprise it got better! Our server said I could get a stein glass for a few bucks more with my beer...... OF COURSE!!!! So already super happy about my drink, I decided on the Mac and cheese because I wanted to go all out on my cheat day. I got it topped with the pulled pork which was a HUGE portion of meat( no complaints here) The mac and Cheese came out in a skillet which if you know mac and cheese physics you already know how crispy those edges are about to be. The pinnconning cheese they used gave such a smooth creamy taste. And I love that as time went on it didn't turn into some giant glob of cheese. I definitely didn't finish this so used the extra pork to make a sandwich the next day and reheated the rest of my Mac with it.
google avatar

Erin L.

Yelp
Love their beer and cider selection, and the food is always good! We like the pretzel bites, fish tacos (they let you substitute salmon if you don't like shrimp or cod) and California salmon club (ask for the salmon blackened!). The outdoor patio has plenty of space, a few fire pits, and part is covered/semi-indoors. On a Friday night, we waited about 10 minutes for an outdoor table. The staff is always friendly and accommodating!
google avatar

Maria P.

Yelp
I went there for a friends birthday and even though the food is OK, I wish they had more variety of dishes Seems like a lot of people only go for drinking so if that's your vibe then this is your place, our server was amazing! She was super friendly and super attentive. Wouldn't mind coming back again.

Linda H.

Yelp
Love Griffin, Claude brewery in Rochester Hills, Michigan... First of all Griffin claw makes some of my favorite beer like screamin pumpkin!!... but they have awesome food as well. It's a nice relaxed atmosphere very clean. Everything's always good!!

Yelp
Loud. Very loud. Sometimes theres such a large party beside you (taking up multiple tables) that you cant hear the person sitting next to you. Parking lot is small and somewhat stressful. The food is pretty good but the drinks are mediocre (they dont offer a lot of variety since it's all brewed inside.) Which is cool until you're craving something specific. Id recommend happy hour or lunch but never dinner.
