"Chef Matt Manning, who has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants in London, opened his unfussy restaurant Grub & Vine in 2018. While the food is described simply as bistro-style fare, it’s certainly more refined than everyday eats. Manning’s solid, honest cooking is everything you want from a lazy Sunday lunch, including dishes like roasted line fish with sweet corn risotto or venison loin with celeriac puree." - Mary Holland, Sarah Khan

"Grub & Vine's short, sharp menu offers bistro fare prepared with great skill and attention to detail. There are classic pairings like pork belly with braised apple and pomme puree and rainbow trout with pea and bacon fricassee. Flavors are often umami-rich, and the sauces are so good you'll want to scrape them off the plate with your finger. Smoked impala (venison) with baby fennel and parsnip puree is a treat, as is the sticky toffee pudding. Here, you get all the finesse without the fuss." - Jane Broughton

Couldn’t recommend enough. The food was superb and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Patronella. We had one guest with a dairy and egg intolerance and they were able to accommodate with slight changes to the dishes. Favourites included the Scallops, Venison and the Duck. The wine and cocktails were also delicious.

Oh, this is such a wonderful experience! The restaurant is cozy and romantic - I recommend sitting by the windows and watching the people walking around. Laura and her team took excellent care of us. They explained the menu and made food suggestions that turned out to be exceptional. Laura suggested the gnocchi and it was probably the best gnocchi I have ever had! Overall a lovely and unique experience!

A Cosy restaurant in the middle of the city with amazing food. We did the 6- course tasting menu paired with local legend wines -- absolutely loved it. The menu was well explained, the choice of dishes was excellent and paired well with the wines. Sit by the window and watch all the buzz of Bree street from below :)

We had the most wonderful evening last night. We came for the restaurant week menu and we were not disappointed. The flavours were all scrumptious and each dish was explained to us in great detail. We also really enjoyed our cocktails, I had the High + Low and it was balanced perfectly. Our server, Nobu, kept our glasses full and gave us a few good laughs which made our evening that much more memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

Visited with friends for dinner, friendly welcome from staff. Seated in a small dining area next to bar, so quiet and peaceful. Great waiting staff, friendly and engaging. Everyone said their food was delicious and we had a great evening. :)

Lovely lunch (again) at Grub and Vine before heading off to the airport! As always the food is incredibly tasty and the wine selection amazing. Big shout out to Laura, she’s giving a very nice service with a positive approach! We’ll be back hopefully soon 🙂

Excellent food and a wine menu to match — enjoyed just as much as when we came two years ago. Even with it being a quiet lunch service, the food and vibes were still on point, with a special shout out to Gary for taking such good care of us.

Had the most amazing experience. My partner and I went for an anniversary dinner and were treated to the loviest staff, delicious food and a wonderful and memorable evening all round. Highly recommend. Our waiter (Simba) & the chef were not only accommodating to our numerous requests but encouraged us to continue to ask questions about the food. We both had the tasting menu and would highly recommend. It was delicious! As an added extra we were treated to a glass of bubbles, a plate with brownies & peanut butter fudge as well as a dessert wine to round off the evening. If you are looking for knowledgable, friendly and very efficient service (specifically from Simba), a great ambiance and a delicious meal - you should definitely give Grub & Vine a go!
