A fresh chapter in a beloved space, this newcomer blends Jalisco staples like carnitas and mole with playful additions and a strong cocktail program. Phoenix New Times’ first look praised the mushroom “calamari,” rich braises, and customizable margaritas.

This was my best meal in Mesa and the best cocktail I had the entire trip. Absolutely delicious. Get a Paloma and the birria tacos. The street corn dip blew my mind, I’ve been thinking about it for at least 2 months. We had great service, plenty of seating, great air conditioning, nice large tables for big groups. The waitress was kind enough to take a family photo for us.

We had an amazing experience! The food was fantastic. The drinks were original and fun. They even made my teenagers the best mocktails which they delivered with flair (and a bit of mystique). Mostly, we loved the staff. They were knowledgeable, funny, gave great suggestions, and were super attentive. I highly recommend and hope to go back soon.

I was very surprised by some of the flavors here. The meats were exceptionally seasoned and wonderful. Especially the steak fajitas. Wow. I loved the queso with corn. Also I loved that the churros were gluten free. There were plenty of gluten free options and still maintained wonderful flavor, too. The open concept was fun and challenging when wanting to chat with friends across a longer table. I’ll definitely want to come back!

It's not every day you get to talk to the owner of the restaurant. We had a delicious lunch. We're visiting from California. Gluten-free options. Clean restrooms, friendly staff, accommodating to please you. My friend ordered a alcohol drink that was too strong for her, so the bar tender was okay with making a new one. What a surprise. She thought they were just going to add ice to water it down some. Nope, a whole new drink. So sweet of them. Great customer service. You won't be disappointed. Opens at 11 am. Enjoy!

AMAZING!! Drinks, food, service and entertainment. This was our first time at The Guadalupe and we’ll be back! I’ve been in AZ for 12 years and have been searching for a Mexican restaurant that makes me feel like I’m at home and I found it! I HIGHLY recommend The Guadalupe you will NOT be disappointed! I had the carnitas and paid a little extra for the fresh corn tortillas, 100% worth the extra cost. My husband had the shrimp fajitas and was very pleased, usually you get tiny shrimp at other places, these shrimp were a nice size. The salsa red and green were both very flavorful. The red had a little kick which you often don’t find at Mexican restaurants, usually it’s bland and can taste like it comes from a jar. Everything was fresh, delicious and flavorful! The biggest plus was meeting one of the owners, Mike. He came out to see how the food was. He and his wife opened this spot 8 months or so ago. We talked to him for a good 20 minutes. Great guy, and very personable. Surprisingly we went to the same high school, in Hoffman estates IL, different graduating classes; what a small world. Wishing these two much success! See you soon!

We arrived at this standalone restaurant, parked, and walked in — greeted right away and seated immediately. Our server, Kenny, who happened to be the previous owner, was a wealth of information about the menu and made our experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance is tastefully decorated, with a spacious dining area separate from the bar. Shoutout to our busser, Jacob — he was awesome! As for the food, the bacon-wrapped wild-caught shrimp were bursting with flavor. The steak fajitas were incredibly tender and made for a great sharable dish. The lobster enchiladas were rich, delicious, and also perfect for sharing. I personally enjoyed the carne asada plate, which came with excellent sides. "You learn a lot about someone when you share a meal together." — Anthony Bourdain A fantastic dining experience that we’d definitely revisit! Saluti

Mike, and the Guad, are the best kept secrets in Mesa! Mike runs this place so well - you immediately feel at home as soon as you walk in! The food is fresh, amazing and guaranteed to satisfy! The menu is clearly marked to identify gluten free items, and Mike ensures everything that hits the table is gluten free. The mocktails are a must try!! Today’s delight was a prickly pear “margarita” and it’s was delicious!! Three gluten free dessert options - we did the churros and don’t regret a single thing. Mike also goes above and beyond to source local ingredients for a farm to table taste that cannot be beat!

We love coming here, amazing food, fabulous drinks and beautiful decor. The owners are great and are quick to ensure we always have top notch service and food. We always get the queso fundido, it is a must try, super unique and the tortillas are to die for. They are so fresh and made in house. Hubby says say yes to the short ribs! I'm all about the lobster enchilada life! Didn't get pics of the food because we devoured and realized it after! Will upload on next trip. I did of course get drink pics though 😋 Every bartender we have had, has been awesome!!! Highly recommend checking out, you won't be disappointed 👏

Yelp
Owning and running a restaurant is a tough and sometimes thankless business. Been there, done that. This place seems to be an "it" place for now, but I'm not exactly sure why. This was the loudest restaurant I've ever been to anywhere. There are zero acoustics as it's just one big open room. Literally had to almost yell to the people across the table so we could hear each other speak. What made matters even worse was there was an older gentleman playing the guitar while singing. You couldn't really hear him because the noise level was so high. Kind of sad. I had high expectations for the food. I'd give it a 6 out of 10. I've traveled to Latin America, including Mexico extensively for 20 years, so I have an experienced pallet for Mexican food. I'd give particulars about the food but the owner might call me a "Karen" and try to insult me in response. He doesn't appreciate criticism in reviews. My review is unbiased and is accurate. Now let's see how rude of a response he will have for this review. On a positive note, the service was appropriate and appreciated.

Yelp
Probably the highest quality mexican food I've had in a long time and all gluten free! This is my second time coming here. Unfortunately, the first time I got very sick because I have a severe dairy intolerance as well, but it was so worth it. Side note: It was NOT on their end, I was just very stubborn and ordered it knowing it had dairy but hoping my stomach would cooperate (it did not) This second time, I decided to bring my own dairy-free queso, cheese and sour cream in hopes that they wouldn't mind us adding our own ingredients once our food was prepared to avoid causing any pain. The chef was so so sooo kind about it and had no problem with me using my stuff at my own table! Everyone here is so kind, the atmosphere is so welcoming, and I cannot thank the chef and employees as well for such amazing service! Also, I HIGHLY recommend that queso! The birria tacos are soooo yummy too! Cannot wait to dig into my GF churros tonight!

Yelp
Great food! Fun local vibe. Mushroom app was to die for 10/10 Ceviche was meh 6/10 Mahi Tacos fantastic (for az seafood) 8/10 Mole enchiladas was good if you like mole 7/10 For sure will be coming back!

Yelp
I'm not sure if we ordered the wrong things this time but not as great an experience. We got the queso which should really be described differently. It's not very cheesy, more like a corn and cotija bake. Tasty but it's a LOT. Mahi Mahi tacos were recommended -- on the menu and by staff - but it's just teeny tiny bits of fish mixed up with stuff in soggy tortillas. This was a crime against mahi mahi. Birria tacos were ok. Also quite soggy and greasy. Tres leches cake was nice.

Yelp
Husband met his friend he hasn't seen since college- over 30 years at The Guadalupe On Main and it was the first time visit. The food was delicious! The staff attentive, friendly and professional, and the personal detail to each dish by The Chef is superb! Highly recommend the creamy, cheesy, AMAZING Queso Fundido, the authentic Birria Tacos and the perfect cheese enchiladas - our favorite food on earth!

Yelp
This place was a pleasant surprise. My wife and I are from Texas, and we were here with a group of friends who had flown in from all over, Chicago, North Carolina, and Dallas, and some locals. We've had some less than stellar Mexican and the distinct but separate Tex Mex while on our travels, but this place knocked it out of the park. My two highlights were my entree, and something else that was a complete surprise that I'll save for later in the review. I selected the classic chile relleno, which was delivered in a very proper service, featuring beans and rice, and the relleno itself had been dipped in a traditional egg batter, which was both fluffy yet substantial at the same time. A delicious but non-intrusive ranchero sauce was served atop the dish, and everything about it was fantastic. But as an even more pleasant surprise, was the shop made corn tortillas that were served as part of some of the other diners' meals, but after tasting them, we asked for more, They had a wonderful texture, thicker and way more moist that the typical rounds, yet not like a cake or a pupusa - they were still flat, but had a knockout corn flavor and were a joy to eat just by themselves or with a schmear of butter. I want to come back just for these, but it's a long way from Dallas. :) Definitely try this place if you want some great Mexican food in the desert!

Yelp
6/8/25 First time visiting. Parking 5/5 We arrived at ~2 PM and the lot wasn't too busy and found parking near the entrance. Ambiance 5/5 We arrived and followed the sign at the Hostess station to seat yourself. The Dining room and Bar are nicely decorated with modern Mexican vibe using stylish artwork and wall decor. The fireplace pays homage to Church candles burning to tie it to the St. Guadalupe another beautiful piece of Artwork displayed in the dining room. Ceiling lighting is not only functional but statement fixtures extending from vaulted ceilings. Service 5/5 Our server Alejandra greeted us at our table to check on us and take drink orders. She returned promptly with our iced teas and we placed our starter order to get the party started with Queso Fundido with fresh pressed corn tortillas. Starters 5/5 Alejandra delivered our starter and we wasted no time serving some on our fresh corn tortillas and oh my goodness WOW delicious!! Perfect combination of chorizo, Queso and Pico de Gallo. The corn tortillas were thicker pressed than typical which was nice and the flavor was exceptional. Honestly this could easily be an entree for one person and is a must try item! Entree's 10/5 This visit was inspired by several Yelp Elite friends and my plan was to order for menu sampling. I started with two Birria Tacos Ala Cart and the Chicken Mole Enchiladas platter. My wife ordered the Steak Fajitas platter. The Owner Mike Schreier stopped to check on us. It was a personal touch that made us appreciate the restaurant more as Mike is a working Owner who clearly stays connected with the pulse of the Dining Room and Bar. After our meal we gave Mike our feedback about the dishes unique flavors and freshness and asked him to pay our compliments to the Chef. Food 10/5 Steak Fajitas came out sizzling on a hot skillet. My wife loved it and said it was the best she's ever had. I took a bite of steak and was surprised on the tenderness of thick cuts and standout flavor which was perfectly cooked. I tried a Birria Taco and Holly Guacamole Batman. Juicy and amazing flavor, the best I've had. I moved to my Chicken Mole Enchiladas. The Mole sauce was Negro style vs New Mexico red. They were served rolled with fork tender chicken & Cheese and covered in a sweet mole sauce. My description of the flavor note is Cinnamon but I believe its flavor is derived from a OG Mexican recipe that includes dark chocolate and a combination of different Chiles like Pablanos, Anaheims, Anchos and Guajillos that made this a top stand out. Very nicely done and another must try! Chef Jhjojho apparently had a pause in the kitchen and joined us so we could praise his culinary skills personally. I whispered to him his was better than my mother in law's New Mexico red and he grinned. He was grateful for our comments and is a very personable gentleman. We had one appetizer, two dinner entrees and two tacos ala cart to sample. We had another meal with leftovers. Thank-you Alejandra you were fun, knowledgeable and made our first visit great! Mike keep the light on we will be back!! $120 with tip. Eat well my friends-SYOY!

Yelp
This restaurant is definitely for my GF peeps! Almost everything on the menu is GF! My hubby was in heaven! Me, not so much. I definitely will give props for restaurant decor, and vibe. The owner(s) did a fabulous job with beautifying this restaurant. It has a farmhouse, yet modern feel when you first walk in; just a feel good vibe! Restaurant is spacious, although chairs may need updating to more chairs with cushions for my sensitive buns! Food was ok. I got the shrimp fajitas, and honestly, they were very bland. Not much flavor or excitement at all. My tongue didn't jump for joy; just limpness. Additionally, food was pricey for the average flavor. I'm sure the restaurant used high grade shrimps/meats/veggies, etc, but I can't justify going back for pricey average tasting food. I'll stick to my hole in the wall Mexican joint any day!

Yelp
Higher end Mexican food. Usually not my choice as I prefer old school Mexican food but we were with a group. Great service for lunch. Shrimp Enchiladas were good, nothing that blew me away for $24. Beans not my style and the rice was dry and crispy/ crunchy. Birria tacos w/ consommé were just average nothing you couldn't get at a mom and pop joint. They were pretty stingy with the consommé but we didn't ask for more either. I'm sure they would have brought more. Food took a while as the place was empty on a weekday late lunch. Again service was very good. Nice decor inside, so give this place a try if you want to impress.

Yelp
Super cook ambience, great bar, wonderful and friendly staff, fast service, and PHENOMENAL food! Definitely check this place out. Eric was our server, who was awesome! The owner also came to check on us, which was so kind and cool to see the care they have for their customers. The flavor of carne asada was spectacular; and the mole was the best I've ever had! Not only was the mole flavor incredible, but the chicken inside the mole chicken enchiladas was so tender and flavorful as well. Also, get a side of the homemade corn tortillas - delicious with the carne asada!

Yelp
We visited The Guadalupe on Main for a friends birthday. She had made a reservation and table was waiting for us. Decor is urban and modern. Our waitress took great care of us and service over all was good. I ordered the Mole Enchiladas because it said "award winning" on the menu and that's a bold statement when you're talking about Mole. It did not disappoint! Every bit as rich, savory, smooth, savory and deep as Abuela's kitchen. Not even kidding. Their refried beans are super tasty. I wasn't overly impressed with the rice. My friend across from me ordered the Braised Short Ribs and they were amazingly tender. At the end of the meal our waitress brought out a piece of their tres leche cake with a sparkler, which was a fun touch. The cake was incredible. I'm not even really a tres leche fan but I'd order this when returning. If you are going make a reservation it was pretty busy while we were there and they definitely had a wait for tables. I'll be back to try more!

Yelp
Well, if you don't like criticism, good or bad, don't put yourself on here. There were items I did like, and wrote about accordingly. And your staff was great, which I also noted. But your rotten response has led me to change my score...which I'm sure you don't care about. Sir, you're rude.

Yelp
An allergy "safe" restaurant. Having a delicious allergy safe family for our whole family is somewhat impossible but The Guadalupe on Main made that possible! Thanks to their GF free options and their allergy indications on their menu. I heard about the restaurant through instagram. An ad popped up and immediately bookmarked it. We had the chance to try them on a Saturday afternoon at a weird time, late lunch, very early dinner. We did not expect to see such a cute beautiful restaurant in Mesa on Main but we did. The sign at the entrance said "seat yourself" so we did. A few tables were occupied. The restaurant is medium size but spacious with high ceilings. The bar area is also separate from the dining area. When we ordered, we made sure they were aware of the allergies at our table. They were very careful and wrote every thing down. We ordered chips and guacamole for an appetizer, enchiladas, steak fajitas and crispy chicken tacos from the kids menu for mains and we had water only for drinks. Guacamole was ok, and chips were fresh and crispy. Mains were delicious even my picky eating child enjoyed the meal very much! I tried some of the fries from my kid's dish and they were seasoned to perfection. The steak in the fajitas was tender, juicy and cooked perfectly. The sides were also great, especially because they had the option of vegetarian beans rather than refried beans. Prices are good and the service was excellent. The restaurant is also clean including the bathrooms. To all the allergy parents out there and allergy individuals, do yourself a favor and go to The Guadalupe on Main. You will enjoy a worry free delicious meal!

Yelp
We belong to a large GF FB group that's been raving about the options at this restaurant so we decided to try it. We came on a Saturday afternoon and the sign said to seat yourself. We walked in and had to pass up several tables as they appeared to have salt or what appeared to be crumbs on them. We finally seated ourselves and were greeted by our server. We ordered drinks and chips and salsa. To note, you must order/pay for chips and salsa. We ordered the mushroom calamari as I was looking forward to fried mushrooms since that's hard to come by with celiac. I personally didn't care for them at all, they were floppy and had a unique taste. My husband ate them. I ordered carne asada to share with my son and he enjoyed it a lot. I felt the meat was tough. My husband ordered the carnitas plate, and if you view the picture it was a rather small portion of carnitas. He really enjoyed what was there. We followed up lunch with churros and those were warm, and soft and delicious. We will come back to try the other options that are GF friendly. I will also note we saw someone (assuming owner/manager) going table to table having lengthy chats with all the other patrons and he didn't engage with our table and our server while kind, wasn't really present for us to give us refills etc. the layout of the space makes it hard to interact with staff.

Yelp
Nice place. Service was good. Margarita was over iced and tiny. Michelada was not impressive, flavor was a little off. Ordered Birria and their "award winning" Mole Enchilada. Birria was exceptionally tasty! The Mole Enchiladas not so much. Weirdly sweet flavor, almost watered down mole sauce, the tortilla shells were way too think and kind of gummy after a while. Waitress said mole sauce was going to be spicy so was looking forward to some spice, unfortunately sauce didn't have a hint of any spiciness. Will I return? Meh maybe, nothing except the Birria to me was worth it.

Yelp
I've been wanting to check out this place as soon as I heard they had Gluten free churros. Which were amazing!! The food was also delicious. My partner and I had the chile verde and the barbacoa platter. He enjoyed the barbacoa but liked my chile verde better. It was very flavorful. The beans and rice reminded me of home. And to top it off they make a well balanced and Smokey old fashioned that made the experience even better.

Yelp
Our experience at The Guadalupe was amazing from start to end. The service was excellent - from the moment we came in, we were greeted with a smile and quickly taken to our table. I told our server about my wheat allergy and that I was visiting because I read they have many gluten free options. She was helpful and told me what I could and couldn't have on their menu. We started with the chips and salsa - something I usually can't do because of cross contamination, but they have a dedicated fryer for the chips! Win! They serve two types of salsas. They were both good but my favorite was the red. I ordered cheese enchiladas and my husband had the birria tacos. We both enjoyed every bite of our meals! The cheese in the enchiladas was so good, the beans and the rice were amazing too. Having a wheat allergy, I struggle to find authentic Mexican food that is also gluten free - they got it RIGHT! After we ate, we ordered the churros for dessert. Oh my goodness. They were amazing! They were hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and we dipped them in their chocolate sauce. They are to die for!!! Did I mention it was all gluten free?? And phenomenal? They have an extensive gluten free menu, vegetarian options, and the menu is clearly labeled so you know what is what. Incredible! Amazing food, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful restaurant and great vibe. We will absolutely be returning!

Yelp
Great place on main. Went for the first time today. Very clean and the decor inside is cooling in the summer. We had some Barilla tacos, ceviche and a beef taco. Don't forget the chips and salsa. Everything was very tasty. Fair value. Service was exceptional. My only comment was on the ceviche. The shrimps could be bigger pieces versus the small one that are the same size as the onions and tomato. Not a deal breaker though. We will come back. For larger groups, call direct to make a reservation, just to make sure. Enjoy, we did.

Yelp
What a great experience from start to finish. We dropped in this afternoon between the lunch and dinner crowd. Since this was our first time they walked us through the menu, gave some great recommendations. We started the bacon wrapped shrimp & mushroom calamari. Excellent presentation and flavor for both. We then split the shrimp enchiladas. The service and ambience for a newer restaurant was spot on. Thank you for a great visit and we will be back soon.

Yelp
Staff and service were great. Owner is awesome and takes such pride in everything. Food is full of flavor and authentic. The drinks are amazing also and the mixologist are legit. The decor was so beautiful modern Mexican feel. Very comfortable place to have a nice time. Really want to take my family for dinner here. The corn tortillas are so good fresh and warm. Chili verde was full of flavor not spicy.

Yelp
We loved the original restaurant when we first moved here but they closed when the light rail was being built. The owners rented it out and a new restaurant opened and it was the worst!!! The original owner reopened but it wasn't the same and we only at it once. Recently it was sold and we decided to give the new place a try and glad we did. Service was good and the food was delicious. My husband had the Birria Tacos and I had the Shrimp Enchiladas!! One of the owners came out and talked with us; very nice gentleman and very welcoming. The restaurant is very spacious and well decorated. We will definitely be back and we will bring family and friends with us. If you're ever in the area, definitely give them a try!!

Yelp
This is a new fav of mine. Delicious, fancy Mexican food. They have so many gluten free options and the staff is friendly and helpful. They make churros and they're gluten free and AMAZING. Def a good date night place. Very hip vibes

Yelp
We had reservations, but apparently that meant nothing, we waited over 35 mins to be seated. When we were finally sat, the hostess mentioned we'd get a complimentary dessert for the long wait. But that turned out to be one specific dessert, which none of us wanted. When we tried to order something else, they brought out one dessert for our entire group of four, saying we'd be charged otherwise. Seriously? I ordered the chile relleno, and it was disappointing, it was served with a speghetti marinara sauce, which just didn't work. On top of that, the acoustics were terrible. They had live music, which could've been nice, but instead the place sounded like a high school cafeteria. We could barely hear each other across the table. By the end of the meal, all four of us agreed: we won't be coming back.

Yelp
This is a new location on Main Street in Mesa. The atmosphere is amazing. The decor is unique and very authentic feeling. I loved all the artwork and metalwork. The front of the dining room opened up to outside and had a nice planter with agave and cacti. The food was really good. I had the carne asada plate. It was very good. Note that it wasn't very spicy. I typically like Mexican food a little spicier. Next time I'll mention it when I order. The food wasn't cheap. Plates were around $25 but it was worth it. Everyone was happy with their meal. On the night we went (a Sunday for an early dinner) there was a singer. He was really good. He sang a lot of 1980s and 1990s songs like by Bobby Brown, Otis Redding, the Temptations, and the Righteous Brothers. He sounded great and it was at a reasonable volume (we were still able to talk). Service was a little on the slow end but there were a lot of large parties so I'll give it a pass.

Yelp
Food service and ambiance were all excellent! I would return anytime I am in town again.

Yelp
I wish there were more stars to rate Guadalupe on Main! The owner said, "this was my dream!" I said, "well done!" Tremendous cuisine, fabulous ambiance with friendly staff!! The food was delicious! We will be back for sure!

Yelp
Guadalupe on Main offers an exceptional dining experience with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Their shrimp enchiladas = win. Shocked how many menu items are gluten free - a must-try for anyone visiting. Suggest asking for a lime to bring the flavors up a notch or two for the shrimp. I love fresh flavors that bring the ingredients together, rather than most places tasting processed and chemically. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor, complemented by a rich, creamy cheese sauce that balanced the textures with a slight sweetness from the tomato base. I'd personally have added cayenne in heavy doses (it's not spicy at all), but the flavors are great. The corn tortillas are soft and fresh, plus the flavorful filling and colorful presentation. It's clear that Guadalupe on Main takes great care in selecting ingredients, and it shows in every bite. Whether you're a fan of seafood or not, these enchiladas are a refreshing experience that showcase the restaurant's commitment to fresh, vibrant flavors. Live music, with singing and DJing, birthday celebrations and wonderful decor, great service: really makes this a fun new favorite place, yay! Arrived and were seated immediately.

Yelp
Service was excellent and the food was very good. However, all the hard surfaces (walls, ceiling, floor) make the resturant so noisy that conversation is impossible. We'll order for take out in the future.

Yelp
Just had an amazing dinner at the Guad! Fajitas, chili pork verde ... And the Flan for desert was the best I've had in ever, smooth creamy with the caramel OMG it was devine! We also enjoyed amazing cocktails!

Yelp
My husband and I came here after hearing rave reviews about it- and it lived up to the hype! It was so yummy and service was great. The owner, Mike, was super nice and passionate about this new restaurant. It is also super gluten-free/celiac friendly. It can be SO hard to find celiac friendly places that are also yummy, and so this place is amazing. My husband loved his carnitas- he said they were the best he's ever had! I enjoyed my pollo a la crema as well. The churros for dessert were to die for! The restaurant was also so cute. We will 100% be back here!
google avatar

Alyssa P.

Yelp
The prices are decent and ambiance is cute. As an appetizer we got street corn queso and then ordered the birria tacos and enchiladas. Queso was okay, but the entrees were so good. Definitely will be coming back

Gordon H.

Yelp
Entire experience blew me away! Exactly what East Valley has needed for, oh, 100+ years! Fantastic, authentic, prompt, professional, and fun dining experience. I will return again and again. Highly recommend the award-winning mole enchiladas! Congrats to owners and staff!
google avatar

Yelp
We arrived right at opening. Very tastefully decorated with an upscale vibe. Kids ordered virgin strawberry daiquiris which were quite good and refreshing. Mole enchiladas had a nice sweetness to them. I would order it again. We also ordered 3 plates of the Birrira tacos. This sadly is still on my palette now after a few hours. A lingering oily taste that taste which I don't care for. Maybe it's just me. Overall it was a good experience and we loved that we could get celiac safe food for my daughter. We would definitely consider going by again some time.
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
This is high end authentic Mexican food. If you don't like it, it's probably because you think Taco Bell, chipotle or Del taco is authentic Mexican food. The Guadalupe on Main is delicious and worth every penny. I highly recommend it...

Yelp
First visit was on Mother's Day. Made a 4:00 reservation because we were told that was "pretty much all that's left." Arrived at our appointed time (there were 4 of us). The dining area was half empty. We waited almost TWENTY minutes before a server approached our table. Whaaat? The food was good. After the requisite chips and salsas appetizer we were primed for the entrees. The mole enchiladas were tasty (although chintzy on the mole sauce). Hubby liked the asada platter, and the big kid liked his fajitas despite the fact the veggies were burned. The little kid scarfed his burrito and fries. The margaritas hit the spot (a little light on the actual beverage component and heavy on the ice). The desserts were phenomenal. High marked to the churros and the pastel de tres leches. The flan was just okay. The restaurant itself is beautiful on the inside. Modern and tasteful. Interesting, when we left, half the tables were still unoccupied. Oh well. Will we return? Sure. It's a new joint and still has some bugs to work out. But it's off to a really good start.

Yelp
Good food, nice atmosphere. I liked the entertainment. I would've given it five dollars if I had cash. I liked the Mexican atmosphere, but it had a lot of chickens which is not a bad thing

Yelp
Fantastic small restaurant that really impressed us on our first visit. First off the decor is really nice and surprised us since we drove there from Scottsdale. It feels more Palm Springs than Mesa. We were greeted immediately and given a nice table in center. Carly did a great job of waiting on us and checked on us and offered refills too. We loved the food and decor and service! Also live music started during our dinner and it was pleasant and not overwhelming. I have to compliment the calamari!!! Probably the best I've ever had and I'm from California and have had calamari for many decades. It has a slight heat in the marinade and dipping sauce and was perfect. I also had the chicken in cream sauce which was delicious and my spouse ordered the chile verde was very happy! We will be back and recommend this spot now!!! Gracias Guada!!!

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at Guadalupe on Main! We ordered a margarita, fajitas and the chile relleno Christmas style with enchilada -- red and green sauce -- and everything was absolutely fantastic. The server gave great suggestions. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for authentic, delicious Mexican food and a great atmosphere, recently remodeled.

Yelp
The Guadalupe on main is the brain child of Mike, a former bartender who had a vision of Mexican, or more Texmex food and his gluten free girlfriend. With the influence of his girlfriend the menu became almost completely gluten free not by intention but by nature. In the 5 weeks of being open this has created quite a following in the GF crowd. And with that, what can I say? I was able to try every item on the table and not worry about being glutened! I was able to enjoy a meal with my non gf husband and we both enjoyed our meal immensely. Neither of us felt there was a compromise in taste or quality. And if I'm completely honest, I could not stop eating the elote dip! Service was also great. The bartender spoke to us about the drinks. Mike and our waitress Alejandra made amazing food recommendations. And the part that really tickled me; a young man walked past our table then immediately backtracked to ask me if there was an issue with my food because I was not eating. I believe his name was Louis. My answer, oh no! Theres nothing wrong. I'm just full! The Guadalupe on main is a must try!

Yelp
Formerly known as Casa Ramos, allow me to introduce you to The Guadalupe on Main a brand new neighborhood restaurant in Mesa, opened Sept. 6. This new concept is bringing Jalisco style cooking with some Venezuelan flare. I enjoyed stopping by to meet @mjdiamondd and support this new neighborhood restaurant. Stay tuned to see the aesthetically pleasing restaurant and its rustic Southwest beauty. Enjoyed some scratch made dishes, crafted cocktails and see what secret lies behind the walls of The Guadalupe on Main. Thank you Alejandra for the excellent service.

Yelp
AMAZING!! Drinks, food, service and entertainment. This was our first time at The Guadalupe and we'll be back! I've been in AZ for 12 years and have been searching for a Mexican restaurant that makes me feel like I'm at home and I found it! The red had a little kick which you often don't find at Mexican restaurants, usually it's bland and can taste like it comes from a jar.

Yelp
Second time in. Really enjoying this place but since it's new, I think constructive feedback is very important. Today we tried the birria tacos and the enchiladas. The cheese enchilada tasted pretty good, but the cheese inside was just not really melted at all (see pic). In fact, I think both enchiladas could have been much hotter. The side of refried beans was pretty good, but also could have been hotter. The birria tacos were good, but the beef definitely would have had a better taste if it was better seasoned with salt. Same with the taco shells. Service was again very good. Can't give this visit 5 stars with this experience, but it was good and they are clearly trying hard with this new business. I still recommend it, but 4/5 this time.

Yelp
This place is pretty solid! Great mole, I don't even like mole, and I'll get a whole plate of it just for me. The ambiance is nice, large open dining room, a cool look to it, plus they have one of my favorite Mark Maggiori paintings which is a classy move! Bathrooms are clean and nice, staff is always nice and happy. The food has not disappointed me yet. Really great spot! A lot of fun.

Yelp
This place was such a cool place to have a nice lunch date. The ambiance was really nice, and the owner Mike was super cool. One thing I really liked was the attention to detail with in the place and the food. You can tell this place cares about the food they put in front of you and the service they provide.

Yelp
The Guadalupe on Main is easily our favorite spot--we've been here about 15 times in the past four months! I even had my birthday here with 11 people, and every single person said it was 10/10 amazing. The food is always incredible--I highly recommend the street corn dip, and the birria tacos are a must-try. Mike, the owner, is the best, and the bar staff is amazing--especially Seth and Orvid, who always make the experience even better. If you haven't been to The Guadalupe on Main yet, you're missing out!

Yelp
Food is absolutely to die for Gluten free options for everything. (They were recently featured on Celiac.com as well as winning two awards in Phoenix magazine for best new restaurant and best Mexican restaurant in the valley.) Service is fantastic, the owners are very attentive and knowledgeable about their business and truly care to provide a fantastic experience for everyone and make you feel special on an occasions such as birthdays, engagements, anniversaries etc. The ambiance and decor is fantastic, especially with live music on the weekends! I felt welcomed by the staff from the second I walked in the door. 12/10 recommend this spot!

Yelp
Great experience overall. Food, drinks, service and ambiance was excellent. Dirty Mike took his valuable time and explained lots of details about his menu and offered us some unique drinks! We had fun. Definitely worth it! Seth the Bartender Definitely knows what he's doing. Challenge him with making your favorite drink. Food is flavorful, chef uses simple clean tasty FRESH ingredients. I had the Shrimp enchiladas with mushrooms! OMG GOOD. Also get the corn dip with a side of guacamole. Red salsa is really good and green salsa is perfectly spiced and hotter than red. Go early can get busy as expected. Some nights they will have live music too, they didn't play it too loud, spot on. Great work Mike, keep it up! Cheers!
