12 Must-Try Restaurants in the Burgeoning Santa Clarita Valley - Eater LA

"How does a fast-casual strip-mall shop get named the fourth-best restaurant in the U.S.? The answer is clear to anyone who visits this welcoming gyro house in Canyon Country’s Soledad Plaza. In addition to the signature meat wraps, owner Kyriakos Champi’s has stacked the menu with Greek and Cypriot favorites unavailable anywhere else in town, including a lovely tart avgolemono and honey-dripping loukoumades donuts." - Sean L. Yum yum yummy!! Food was so fresh, so hot, so delicious. Patio area looked amazing, interior was clean and very blue. Hot dolmethes were a nice change. Great place great service

We ordered takeout. We got 5 plates for around $100. The portions were pretty generous and they included free doughnuts with each plate we ordered. The meat was a bit spicy for me but everyone else seemed to enjoy it. I honestly liked the doughnuts more than the food. Pictured below are the following: beef gyro plate, cinnamon doughnuts, loads of sauces, falafel plate, chicken skewers, beef skewers.

Been coming here for years. Always have a good meal. Breakfast and lunch are always on point.

They have 2 locations in Santa Clarita, one in Valencia and one in Cznyon Country across from Home Depot on Soledad. Really is excellent Greek food and excellent service. We were greeted right away and menu choices were explained to my husband. There is a self serve beverage bar and condiment bar. You have to try the spice yellow sauce...yum! Its self order and then they bring the food to you, or you can get take out. As we were enjoying our dinner, the chicken souvlaki, they came around and offered everyone at our table a bowl of fresh Greek donuts! Our guests had the lamb plate and said it was the best th hey had. We will definately bring our grandchildren here. The plates were big enough for adults to share. Just a group of family and friends here. The good is always good! The service is fantastic.

Google
Absolutely amazing food, and always fast and fresh! Cheaper than fast food, no dishes, no guilt... It's eaten in the car on the way to practice at least once a week. My favorite place to grab dinner...and cater my parties!

Google
Had a tasty gyro wrap but the fries here were also delicious! Maybe the best textured French fries I’ve ever had. Really crispy on the outside, well salted, and a good diameter. Would come here again for the wraps but especially the fries!

Google
Was curious to try what was at one point the 4th best restaurant in the US according to Yelp. Gotta say, it was a solid choice for lunch! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting. Lots of seating, plenty of parking. Food came fast in generous portions at a decent price. The gyro plate was delicious. Meat was incredibly tender, probably the best I’ve ever had in a gyro. Falafel was fantastic as well. Their homemade tzatziki, baba ganoush, and hummus were excellent! Highly recommend you stop by.

Google
Food was delicious and fresh. Very friendly staff. They even gave us free baklava. 🤤

Yelp
Delicious food, everything was flavorful and savory. The sauces they give you went perfect with the meal. They give you tons of whatever protein you order. I got the lamb and it was pretty tasty. The pita bread was soft (wish there was more than one piece though) the fries my boyfriend got were the perfect amount of crispy! Awesome food! Also awesome service, they greet you every time you come in and when you leave haha This is a casual place but it does look nice inside, super blue lol and tons of seating.

Yelp
Best breakfast in town!!! Eggs Omelettes and crispy Hash Browns and all my Mediterranean favorites with pita bread or your choice of bread. Great coffee great service Greek music n sports on the large screen : kid friendly and so CLEAN. We come for breakfast and lunch.

Yelp
Great flavors and large portions, the meats were very moist and tender and the sauces were delicious. Highly recommend 9/10 taste 8/10 value

Yelp
Great service and good food! The falafel was made fresh, the salad was good as well as the pita. The rice was just ok, but the fries were good!

Maria M.

Yelp
First I want to the service was great! They are very welcoming fun and polite The good is delicious! I have never had a falafel before. It was very tasty! A minor mistake was made with my daughter's order which the rectified immediately even though she ordered it incorrectly. They were very kind We will return often this is our new favorite!

Yelp
Wednesday lunch. Went back after an absence...I have to renew my experience review...staff was very friendly. Made you feel welcome. The greeted us and say goodbye. That is the best part of this place. The food is good too. Tasted better this time than before. I don't know why. Maybe the staff?

Yelp
The Lamb Gyro plate ($17.99) was delicious and there certainly was an ample amount for the money. I have to admit it is one of the very best examples you can find in the Santa Clarita Valley. The lamb was tender, well cooked and perfectly seasoned. I ordered the plate with a Greek Salad as a side and there again it was an excellent version of a classic Greek Salad. However, I can't call it a 5 star meal when there is no table service. Part of dinning out has a lot to do with being pampered and waited on. In my book a great meal with poor or no service should loose a mark or two. So this a great place to grab a bite but only ok for a sit down meal.
google avatar

Whitney L.

Yelp
Food is amazing and staff was helpful when ordering. Really nice and clean atmosphere! They also have a few aguas frescas and those were as tasty as the gyros themselves. Fast service, quality food! Really enjoyed my visit.

Yelp
I did not have another opportunity to return to this establishment, but felt it needed another try given I did enjoy the flavor last time. We are glad we came back. Gyro was a good combination of crisp and moist in each bite. Seems the rice is now done differently as it did not taste the same or look the same as the previous pictures containing a large amount of green spices and color but it wasn't bad. Place is always clean and maintained. Hummus was also good! Maybe sometime before I return again but at least the first time was only a fluke.

Yelp
I don't know how I've never reviewed this place before! We love both locations but this is the OG in more than one way... definitely fresher (made to order), warmest welcome every time ("OPA!!!" #iykyk), larger dining room, they have BREAKFAST too! Also my favorite rice from any Greek Restaurant. No matter which location, you'll get great service and great food!
google avatar

Laarni L.

Yelp
Holy smokes this place is bomb.com! They have a brochure that highlights they have received recognition for being #4 out of top 100 restaurants for Yelp. I could see why. Lots and lots of parking, customer service is great. They have a great system, so food is served pretty quick. Ambiance is so cute, bright, a big wall with a picture of Santorini welcomes you. They also have a spacious outdoor patio. Must order the Saganaki (flaming Greek cheese) ! Not every Greek restaurant offers this. They also serve it in a fun way, you see the flame on the hot plate. Food is very tasty, pita bread so soft! Go here when you're craving Greek!
google avatar

Hani A.

Yelp
Came here on my way driving up to Kern county. Heard so many good things about Greek restaurant so I had to try it. We ordered several things but the lamb ribs were the winner. We also like their lamb Lamb Gyro Plate, it was also delicious. They chicken Gyro was a little disappointing. All their platter came with their side of fries or their rice. The place is casual and their service is very good. I would definitely come here again

Yelp
My friends and I came for lunch on Saturday, after our hike at the Antelope Valley to see Super Bloom (though we were 2 weeks late, haha). The restaurant is inside a plaza, with a lot of parking space. The interior is very spacious and even has an outdoor seating area. We ordered their famous plate combo (chicken and lamb), which comes with a drink and fries. The fries were so crunchy, must get them! The lamb is better than the chicken in my opinion. But my favorite is actually the rice, haha I'd recommend this location for especially big groups with large spaces and TVs playing. The staffs are super friendly! I asked them what the word "OPA" mean when customers come into the store, and they explained to me it can mean welcome or they also say OPA when they break the plate! I really like the energy of this place!

Yelp
We went here for Valentine's Day! We ordered the salmon plate and saganaki flaming cheese. All were very delicious . The salmon was cooked perfectly and the spices were on point. The rice and cheese mushroom was also delicious. The positions were perfect, we had enough to have for lunch the next day. This establishment takes pride in excellent customer service. Making sure your meal fits your expectations. And that you treated me with respect and kindness. The staff also comes around to make sure your meal is good, and if not they will do their best to fix any of your meal issues. Shout out to Austin, Alex and Kyler for making our dining experience a great one. We really appreciate the hospitality and kindness.

Yelp
We received a loud and enthusiastic Greek welcome as we walked in for lunch. The place is clean and spacious with TVs playing live sports. There's also plenty of outdoor seating. We chose the Beef Plate (over fries) and Dolmas Plate. Our food came out quickly. Everything was fresh and so tasty. The flatbread was warm, soft and fluffy -- perfect with that amazing garlic spread or dipped in hummus or tzatziki. Portions are quite generous. The young man who took our order also came to our table to check on us. We were given free Loukoumades to try. Perfectly sweetened with honey and topped with cinnamon, they were a nice end to a satisfying meal. The people here seem genuinely happy serving their patrons. Great experience all around at Gyromania -- we'll be back!

Yelp
Super delicious gyros, available with authentic lamb (or your choice of other meat) with all of the delicious sauces and dips you would expect at a Greek restaurant. The french fries are amazing! Don't miss the flaming cheese appetizer and a nice selection of non-carbonated drinks. Service was excellent from the young fellows that worked there. Prices were a little high but that's pretty much the way it is everywhere Definitely recommended and I would love to come back

Sue R.

Yelp
Incredible, fresh food. It has been a while but my mouth is watering thinking of the fresh trimmed meat in a toasty falafel with the sauce. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
google avatar

Shannon C.

Yelp
Great service and amazing food. Everything is always so fresh. Truly delicious! Ambience is casual and very clean... even the bathrooms! Multiple TVs in the restaurant as well. Ideal for breakfast, lunch or dinner! The lamb gyros are our favorites and I've even got those who swear they don't eat lamb to leave loving it!

M A.

Yelp
The food is good, but I found it expensive for the quantity and variety. The Ambiance is good, Service is ok, they served us in to go boxes, even though we sat and ate there.
google avatar

Jana R.

Yelp
I cant believe i have no pictures to share because i ate the food too quickly.... when you walk in the kitchen staff says Opa which is pretty loud but makes for a pleasant aura haha. Everything inside is spacious and tidy -- the blue walls of Gyromania really make you feel like you're in Greece. There are a lot of meat options and our table even got the donuts on the house! Also, our waiter was very kind I wish i remembered his name. The food is really tasty and the service was very fast. Overall I recommend. This is a gem in SCV!

Yelp
My husband and I love medeteranian food, specifically Greek. We try many medeteranian food in our hometown in LA. Food here was mediocre for someone who has tried abundance of Greek food. Lamb gyro was good. Chicken shawarma was absolutely bland and super runny. We got 2 types of chicken, none of them were appealing. Falefals were dry and didn't taste great. Rice was also not that great. Most importantly salads didn't taste fresh either. Hummus was good but remaining sides were ok. None of us enjoyed our food here.
google avatar

Beethoven S.

Yelp
Good basic Greek food. Clean, but a little pricey. My wife likes the falafels, but I like the gyros.
google avatar

Michaela C.

Yelp
Very clean, very large space with proper Greek decor. The staff was friendly and the menu was quite large. I've had better rice at other places, but the lamb was PHENOMENAL!!! It was so juicy and I'd go back there just for the meat!
google avatar

Deven G.

Yelp
This place is super yummy if you happen to be in the area. Lots of space to eat with a larger group and even outside areas to eat. They have a lot to choose from from, my favorite is the Gyro Wrap, I get the beef with tzatziki dressing, meat is tender and juicy with great seasoning. Service was quick and super nice!
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
They forgot to include our fries with our 2 Gyro wraps yesterday. Called them up, and they could not do partial credit on the card but only offered 2 extra fries "next time." No apologies. When I asked how they missed this, she said they were "busy." Actually, they were not busy at 1:24 pm on a Friday. At least we'll get our extra fries next time, although items we normally order already come with fries so we'll have extra fries we won't need. Better discipline needed behind the counter. These kinds of things should not be happening, especially with simple items like fries. Also, correcting mistakes should not involve giving customers fries they don't need "next time." We really like this place, so we're disappointed this happened. -- UPDATE -- The owner has contacted me and will address these issues. Thank you!

Yelp
If you're craving some Mediterranean and you're in the SCV area, then Gyromania is the perfect choice! We ordered delivery so this review is for the food and delivery. The food came quick! We ordered a variety of food items and it was all very delicious and succulent! Lamb and Beef Gyro plates, Lamb Gyro wraps, Chicken Souvlaki, accompanied by some tasty sauces... Tzatziki, Tahini. Along with some cool, crisp fresh veggies... cucumber, olives, onion, tomatoes. The fries are also nicely seasoned and super good. We finished it off with Loukoumades which is kinda like a funnel cake type batter, shaped in little donut balls, with some cinnamon and honey... With a little coffee of course. It was the best finish to an amazing meal! If the food in Greece is this good or better, we may need to make our way for a long visit.

Adileine R.

Yelp
Opa! Location is great. Right by the harbor. Large and very clean. You are always greeted with a smile. The portions are huge!! Gyros are ginormous! Fresh and made the way you want them. Their meat selection is fresh and so delicious. Taziki is always fresh and delicious. The garlic sauce is the secret to the best gyro! I love coming here for a nice happy lunch.
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
Was expecting something different. The gyro meat was interesting, not my favorite. But you should give it a try. They were friendly and fast service. And, the place was clean even right after the rush.

Joab A.

Yelp
Food is delicious. Nice ambiance. Has AC. Has bathrooms. The food is not greasy and I'd say the food is on the healthy side.
google avatar

Jim R.

Yelp
Greek salad was good, but I had to cut up large chunks of vegetables. Pet peeve, I hate having to do that. Kind of light on the cheese, otherwise it was good.
google avatar

Zarifa A.

Yelp
Gyro mania is a great option for a fast, delicious, and healthy meal. We ordered 2 rice plates here and were blown away by the food; I think it's one of the best Mediterranean plates I've had! For the plates, you get a choice of meats, toppings, and dressings. I tried the lamb, chicken, and beef here and they're all so flavorful while not being overly oily. The rice and salad also complemented the meat really well. I usually don't eat the pita bread when I go to Mediterranean places to avoid overeating carbs, however, the one here was exceptionally good and I actually ate the entire thing. If you like jalapeños, I highly recommend trying the OMG sauce, which is a jalapeño based sauce that is so delicious and will elevate your plate even further. My only gripe about this place is that I feel like it's a bit overpriced for what it is because our 2 plates came out to be over $40, however, I'd most likely still be back if I'm in the area because of the quality of the food. Service here is good; the cashier was really nice and gave us recommendations alongside offering samples of the meat because it was our first time there. There's plenty of seating and I loved how the restaurant was decorated for the holidays! The restaurant is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking.
google avatar

Amarilis G.

Yelp
I have been sitting on this review because I wanted to love this place. I think that there's potential but every time I go, that flavors have been different. The first time it was great and then I had some lackluster times. So I gave it a few more tries and had another good experience but also some that lacked seasoning. I'm not giving up and will continue to search for the consistency.
google avatar

Anna F.

Yelp
This is a must-try! So unbelievably delicious and the portion sizes are generous!! The ordering process was a little confusing but the cashier was super helpful and patient with me. I ended up ordering a gyro wrap with chicken, fries in it (you can also order them on the side), tahini sauce and hummus! Their garlic spread is so good!!! They also had this amazing green sauce on the side. Very impressed with the overall presentation and the value for this meal. It is definitely worth it!!!

John Y.

Yelp
Extremely rude guy taking your order, with hat pulled down over his eyes. He is a bad look for the business, needs a lesson in customer service. Ordered hummus, never got it and salad came with no dressing. Definitely gone down hill.....

S C.

Yelp
I tried this restaurant the other day and it was so good and fresh! I got the mini souvlaki plate and it was more than enough food (great price). The service was fast and staff were super friendly. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. It was nice and clean overall. Good experience, would definitely eat here again.
google avatar

Kate P.

Yelp
Delicious food and great service! Portion size was good and will definitely come back.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Wow is where I want to start! Heading home from Mammoth and found this spot on the way. You couldn't ask for a nicer staff! I order a half chicken half beef plate with rice. I loved it! The meat was juicy and flavorful which a lot of Greek places get wrong. My husband had the lamb and chicken and that was awesome too. Don't miss out on the sauces. The spicy feta and tzatziki sauces are to die for. The food came out piping hot! We literally just got back from a month long trip in Greece and this place was excellent. Again the staff today was great!! We will be back when driving through town!
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
Gyromania is one of our favorite places to eat. They have the best breakfast burritos around and my husband loves their Greek omelettes. I also want to comment on their staff... They are truly one of a kind - top notch! It is definitely a family friendly atmosphere and we love coming here.
google avatar

Angela G.

Yelp
Oh my yum! After a full day at Universal Studios, me and the kids needed food! I was craving Greek and this is where Yelp led me, I'm so glad that it did! There are 2 locations and from where I was coming from Yelp let me to this one closer to the Canyon Country side of SCV. But there is another in Stevenson's Ranch so make sure you have the right one. The food is really yummy and fresh tasting. Portions are good to generous. But the sauces oooooh the sauces are what make this place. We got the Greek chicken salad, adult chicken gyro plate, and kids chicken gyro plate with added salad and drink. This was a good portion however there wasn't a lot of chicken. So if you want a meaty meal, this may not be enough. But As a family of 4 we were able to eat with some salad left over for the next day. The chicken is very flavorful. The pita soft. The salad fresh. The fries were yummy (though the portion was a little small.) The rice was good as well. Now lets get to the sauces. I'm a saucy girl, so I ordered a few. The OMG sauce is spicy and a little sweet and it has nice flavor. The garlic sauce is soooooo darn good! There was a lemony sauce that I didn't ask for so I don't know the name. That was yummy, not my speed since it had a slight Mayo taste, but still very good. The hummus (yes not a sauce but I'm putting it here) didn't was well moisturized and had a good zip. The balsamic dressing was the only one that I didn't enjoy. But it was ok too. I added some hummus, OMG sauce, and garlic sauce to my little pita sandwich and it was everything. I legit can't wait to eat the leftovers and I can't wait to go back. Make sure to ask for the sauces y'all. Get all the sauces.

Yelp
Not coming from this area I wasn't sure how good the green food from this spot would be. When I walked in it was crowded, which is a good sign! I ordered the beef gyro and the worker could tell it was my first time and offered a free drink. What a way to make an impression! The gyro was incredibly delicious! The meat was flavorful and the pita was soft. The sauce definitely complements the gyro. The drink was a cucumber juice, which was very refreshing! Definitely a great spot to check out if you're craving Greek Food, look no further!

Christopher I.

Yelp
I had the chicken gyro wrap today. It was huge. I was full after eating about half of it. The wrap was very delicious. Customer service was good. I like how the employees yell "umpa" when a customer walks in. It makes me laugh every time. I recommend this restaurant if you're craving Greek food. :)
google avatar

Brian Y.

Yelp
Loved the food here! The gyro and tziki were very tasty. Next time will try other things.
google avatar

Hratch M.

Yelp
It was a take out order with fast service during lunch time. Consistently delicious food.
google avatar

Micole J.

Yelp
garlic sauce! that is all! amazing food, service, ambiance. overall excellent!
google avatar

Sanchez M.

Yelp
Great food not like Greece but close! Good food fast service welcoming staff , great atmosphere i recommend this spot!
google avatar

Anthony H.

Yelp
Great food and staff is friendly. Big portions and left with leftovers. Will definitely visit again.

Joseph G.

Yelp
Food was solid and I enjoyed my meal. However, I thought it was a bit pricey for what they offered.

Arlen S.

Yelp
Gyromania is a must-try! Their gyros are fantastic, and the avgolemono soup is perfect for a sick day--comfort in every spoonful. Don't miss their OMG sauce; it's incredibly tasty and adds a delicious kick to any dish. A go-to spot for flavorful Greek cuisine!
google avatar

Adriana C.

Yelp
Great food, great service. Gyromania fries are our favorite. The donuts are my son's favorite. Only wish they were closer to us in the valley.
google avatar

Jax L.

Yelp
OMG sauce, this place is amazing! But literally, they have a sauce called OMG sauce and I could put it on everything. It's spicy and creamy and so delicious that I've actually called the restaurant to see if they would sell me a whole bottle of it and they do! 8oz bottle for $4 and they sell in larger size quantities also The lamb gyro plate is my go to. It's not cheap at $16 but the portions are so generous I easily turn it into two meals. The meat is succulent and well seasoned. My husband goes for the chicken gyro plate and I've snagged a bite so I know the chicken is just as juicy. I don't love fries with my Greek food BUT I have a picky toddler so it's nice to have that option there for him I will also say this place does not skimp on the sauces! More than once I have had extra sauce thrown in my bag (definitely try their creamy garlic sauce) and they threw in a little container of these tasty pastries once just because. It's rare for a restaurant to do that these days and even though their food was enough to earn my loyalty, it made my heart happy Oh and one more thing, definitely go for the fresh watermelon or cucumber juice it does not disappoint, so refreshing! I come to this place twice a week now that's how much I love Gyromania and hands down this spot is my favorite greek food in the entire Los Angeles area
