Very popular place for gyutan and for good reason! We came for lunch 3 minutes before they opened and just made it in for the first seating. The tomatoes were delicious and the beef tongue was seasoned perfectly, thick and chewy. The barley rice was also excellent. Definitely the best place to get gyutan and worth the money & wait in my opinion!

Cozy eatery with a nice open space and tatami. It's honestly rather hard to find as it's tucked quite deep underground and signs are not very prominent. Once you find it though, the gyutan is top notch. Definitely the thickest of cuts for grilled beef tongue, but remarkably bouncy and crispy. Slightly higher price that I think reflects in the meat quality, though the oxtail soup and veggies/rice are less remarkable (other spots were more even). Instead of mustard pickles you get served some sweet miso paste. It does pair well, but I miss the mustard greens. Very kind and patient staff despite their efficiency in handling the bigger crowds you'll see here. English menu helps a bunch!

I had high hopes for my first beef tongue meal here, and while it was amazing at first, I found it wasn’t as good as some other restaurants I tried later in the area. The flavors were decent, but I expected a bit more based on the hype. If you have the time, it’s worth a try, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a top choice for beef tongue in the area.

If there's a MUST of the delicious food list. This restaurant is the must of my life. Although they don't speak English they will share the English menu with you, and I confirmed the price and quality are the same between the Japanese and English menus. I visited here very randomly around 9 pm, still crowded and you could even smell the smoky nice beef smells when you got downstairs. Please visit here if you visit Sendai, or even visit Sendai again just for the delicious foods.

I knew I came to the right place when I saw the queue at this restaurant. As a matter of fact, when in Sendai, one needs to try out their beef tongue and I was looking for one highly rated one on google map and found this place. Apparently, one can make a reservation but since we are tourists, we try walking in. But no chance, we have to queue. We waited close to 30-40 minutes before we were given a table. But as we sat there waiting, the crowd kept coming in and that was a sure sign that this place was good. We had the beef tongue and the kids had the beef tongue curry. They do offer set meal and larger portion of the famous beef tongue. Amazing texture and they don’t taste gamey at all. It was like a good piece of beef, with my chewiness to it, but in a good way. The charred part gave it a Smokey flavor and it was well marinated. No wonder the queue was so long. Prices were very reasonable as well. Just make sure that you reserve your seats if you are coming.

Beef tongue was super tender and juicy! The soup that came with the set was really clear and fresh so it paired really well together. Would highly recommend ordering the tomato salad because it’s really refreshing as well.

Beef tongue is very delicious. The grilled beef tongue is very elastic and juicy, and the grilled beef tongue sashimi is also very tender. But the boiled beef tongue is average just like their service attitude.

4.55 - One of local favourite restaurants in Sendai. Their beef tongues were grilled into perfection. Its skin (top layer) was crispy and the meat inside was very juicy, bouncy and tender - Full of flavour inside your mouth. In the past, I only liked thin cut beef tongue. However, this restaurant did challenge me. Well done and happy to pay another visit next time.
