The hotel is situated in a stunning landscape, but unfortunately, the experience was significantly diminished by the restaurant and its service. We stayed for two nights during the August long weekend. While breakfast was included, several basic items were noticeably absent—most notably, any type of cheese. Interestingly, cheese did appear during dinner as a "tabla de quesos" for €16 per person, only to be unavailable again the following morning. The orange juice, though fresh, was overly diluted, which gave the impression of cost-cutting.
Dinner was served in a very small and overcrowded restaurant, where tables were spaced approximately 50 centimetres apart, offering little privacy. We ordered salmorejo and a salad for starters; both were disappointing. The salmorejo was bland and watery, resembling a poor-quality gazpacho. The salad consisted merely of cut tomato with excessively salted cod, arranged in a tart shape. The presentation seemed to prioritize appearance over substance, which was unexpected for a hotel of this caliber.
Fortunately, the main course was of much better quality, thanks to the excellent meat. However, despite requesting medium-cooked solomillo, it was served rare. I was hesitant to return it given the previous courses. Additionally, several tables ordered tomahawk steak and grilled it at their tables, causing significant smoke in the dining room. The air conditioning was inadequate, resulting in an uncomfortable atmosphere for both guests and staff. Although doors were opened to alleviate the smoke, the 40°C outdoor temperature offered little relief. We left the restaurant with our clothes and hair smelling strongly of smoke.
Overall, the restaurant was a major disappointment. The beautiful setting and comfortable rooms could not compensate for the consistently poor dining experience, especially as alternative dining options were not available nearby. The restaurant appears more focused on minimizing expenses than providing quality service. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this hotel and will not be returning.
P.S. To the French lady conducting the almazara tour: It is rather unprofessional to continually text while leading guests.
