The 15 Best Breweries In London - London - The Infatuation

"With a big industrial indoor and outdoor space that positively screams get-loaded-on-beer-and-order-way-too-many-crispy-potatoes, Hackney Church Brew Co. is a spot for a Friday or Saturday night. Outside of their Mare St. Mosaic pale ale and Lazy Day lager, there are sours and stouts, as well as a smashburger bun by Lagom that’s so buttery that you’ll have to ask your shorts to forgive you for using them as an impromptu tea towel." - jake missing, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley

Where To Have Your 30th Birthday Dinner - London - The Infatuation

"Perfect for inviting everyone you’ve ever known. There are plenty of breweries in London that have enough room for you and your cousin’s girlfriend’s pilates instructor, but what we love about this particular Hackney brewery is that it doesn’t look like the set of an ITV crime drama. Inside, there are wooden beams and trendy globe spotlights while out in the courtyard garden there are enough fairy lights to constitute a little hand-holding and cheek kiss. If craft beer isn’t your thing, they also have a short selection of wine and spirits." - heidi lauth beasley

Where to Eat in London This Weekend | Eater London

"A converted railway-arch taproom with a massive beer garden that’s ideal for long, sunny afternoons; the bar pours around 11 rotating lagers, ales and stouts ranging from a citrus IPA to a mouth-puckering blueberry sour and sessionable pilsner. Greek‑Cypriot food from Ɛ́lα (notably well-regarded kebabs and silky baba ganoush) is available alongside the drinks, and the venue has community-minded plans linked to a nearby church, making it a festive, locally engaged spot to spend a payday pint." - Anna Sulan Masing

New St John Brewery and Restaurant to Open Inside Renovated Hackney Arches | Eater London

"Opening on 16 June in the newly renovated Hackney Central arches beneath the railway tracks lining Bohemia Place, this craft brewery, bar and restaurant is the first of several food and drink operators to move into the arches. Co-founded by Luke Scanlon and Ryan Robbins, the operation combines its own beers with a broader global roster and features an interior inspired by the nearby parish church on Lower Clapton Road — restored pews and a wooden architrave give the space a deliberately church-like feel. Headed by Robbins, who began as a home brewer, the brewery will launch with an American pale ale, a lager, an IPA and an imperial stout. It aims to pair its in-house brews with other well-known craft beers in a taproom-style model, and positions itself around community engagement (with the tagline “beer for all sorts” and links to the parish) while operating a kitchen that will host rotating residencies to showcase different cuisines." - Adam Coghlan

Went here for the Sunday roast, I had the pork belly. Flavours were really great and the fat on the pork belly was nicely rendered, almost creamy. Good amount of gravy which was also flavoursome. The sauce in the picture is apple sauce with mustard which was an interesting mix, it went well with the pork. The only let down was that the skin on the pork wasn't crispy at all. Quite pricey at £24 but I would probably still go again. The beer selection was healthy!

Google
Every Thursday they have selected tap beer for 3.5 which is quite good. We came here randomly walking around, and seeing cheap beer we decided to stay which is one of the best decision of our London trip. We like a lot gazpachio beer and fish and chip. Is enough for two of us. And it was really delicious not regular fish but still good and juicy

Great brewery tap, good selection of own brewed beers both on tap and in cans to takeaway. Friendly staff, only downside no non alcoholic versions of brews, but did have a selection of non alcoholic beverages ie coke, lemonade etc

My partner and I went here for their £3.5 pint Thursdays. It’s a very lovely place with lots of seating. Staff were nice and service was relatively quick for how busy it was. It’s a great place to grab a pint if you’re gluten free! I’m not a huge cider person, so it’s nice to have a beer on offer. Typically, gluten free beers aren’t included in promotional prices, but it was great to be able to get a £3.5 pint along with my partner! We both got the gluten free Ascension. It was very refreshing and I would definitely get it again. Beware of the pub dog, though. He’s not very nice.

So this review is purely for the Eurovision Party that this venue hosted on 17 May 2025. They advertised this as “The ultimate Eurovision celebration” with • Live screening of the Eurovision performances – cheer for your favourite acts! 🎤 • Special prizes for the best dressed – think sparkles, sequins, and outrageous outfits! 💎 • Eurovision bingo to make things even more fun – can you spot the classic Eurovision moments? Their listing got taken up by the official Eurovision Fan Club, so lots of people turned up and the venue was packed. Good for them! And good for me as I live only one street away, and had booked our table a week in advance, and people had travelled from all over London to join me here. Except… If you’re going to host a Eurovision party, then maybe plan for it before the event actually starts? Like, check the TV works and that the sound does too. Eurovision started at 8pm and it took them until 830pm to get the speakers working and in sync with the TV. Until then, there was about a 60 second lag between the pictures and the audio. Which makes for a very weird experience!! Even then, the TV was small and low down and at one end of the viewing garden, so only people nearby could see it. Which luckily we were, but it was a real shame for most of the other people who had booked. But even that didn’t really matter since the sound was so quiet that you couldn’t really make out the words from any of the singers, or from Graham Norton. Think of it more of an ambient quiet background noise Eurovision party, not really something you could say you were watching. We dressed up and a few other people on other tables did. There was however no sign of anyone offering prizes for costumes or, indeed, really caring what you wore. As for Eurovision Bingo, yes, you’ve guessed it, that never happened either. I think the beer at this venue looked good but they hadn’t really staffed up for all the guests, and at one point the queue for the bar stretched outside of the venue. So when our first drinks ran out, we just got up and walked home to have a house party instead. Where we could actually see and hear the show! Overall, terrible organisation and mis-selling. I’ll be letting the Eurovision Fan Club know so that they don’t list this venue again. What a shame, it could have been so good.

Went last week with my boyfriend and what a treat! The food was delicious, got to sit right near the kitchen. We had the asparagus, pork belly bites, salad, and a burger! The Halo Helles & Renaissance Pale Ale were my favorites but they had a great selection of brews. The garden was adorable and the whole place just had a cozy chill vibe. Will definitely go again :)

Google
If you’re looking for a top notch Sunday roast then look no further! This is an absolute must for anyone who is passionate about their meat and finding a place that cooks with great pride, care and professionalism. Located in a railway arch they have combined a top class kitchen with a microbrewery to deliver arguably one of London’s best Sunday lunches. The beef was cooked to perfection with crunchy roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Two slight negatives - a very limited wine list with no option for corkage and a single very rich and quite sugary pudding. Other than that, an outstanding trip across London for an absolute feast. We will definitely be back!

Google
I went yesterday for a stag do. Great setting, the beers were varied and a lot were really good. Most surprised by the food, the standard burger was the nicest burger I have ever had. Really shocked, and really confused by some of the other reviews, most of us there said it was the best burger they'd had, too.

Yelp
Cute little place tucked away. Food was delish. We tried the steak with green sauce. And by the picture you can see that it was gone! Come for a pint and leave with a full belly!

Yelp
Awesome blend of brew and food on church premises. What an idea! A community gathering place in a really out-of-the-way London location that tourists need to spend some time finding. Besides interesting micro-brews, there's Elliot Cunningham, the chef from Lagom, a street-grill guy turned master chef who feeds you with roasted foods for a reasonable price. Elliot won't be here long because sooner or later a first-class emporium will grab him up at a high salary that will boost your tarif. Go now so you can say, "I knew him when...."

Yelp
Very nice brewery: the place itself is cool, beers are quite good and service is friendly and attentive. I had a Pilsner and a Session IPA that I both enjoyed.

Yelp
Couple great food with some of the best micro brewed beer in London, and this has become s must stop! The lighting and decor of this restaurant is fantastic, and coupling with St. John at Hackney Church is a great idea. Beer for all sorts indeed! Hope for Hackney!
