Atlanta's Hidden Gem for Ramen Lovers If you’re on the hunt for the best ramen in Atlanta, look no further than Hajime. As a long-time fan of Umaido in Suwannee since 2009, I was thrilled to discover that these two culinary hotspots share the same roots—same delicious offerings, just a new name. Hajime does ramen right, especially if you’re a fan of a spicy kick. Their spicy noodles are hands-down the best I’ve encountered anywhere; the depth of flavor is a revelation. What sets them apart? They proudly craft their own noodles and broth, elevating the experience to another level. I had the chance to chat with the chef while he was lovingly preparing the pork belly—he kept the cooking time under wraps for secret recipe reasons, but trust me, it’s worth the culinary mystery. This pork belly is pure decadence, melting in your mouth with each bite. Unlike many mainstream franchises, the broth here doesn’t slam your taste buds with MSG. Instead, it’s a harmonious blend that won’t leave you feeling bloated. And let’s not forget their impressive drink selection—perfect for a casual evening or a special date night! With Hajime’s convenient location, I’m excited to make this my go-to spot with my partner. If you’re in the area, do your palate a favor and dive into this ramen experience. You won’t regret it.

Pretty good seafood ramen here. They don’t have many drink options, no diet sodas. They do have alcohol of course. Plenty of parking and great quick service.

I came here based on the recommendation of a friend and I must say, I am pleasantly surprised. I got the Tonkatsu ramen and it was delicious. The broth was flavorful and probably one of the best broths I’ve tasted in a very long time. I would absolutely recommend trying this place. I came when it wasn’t very busy as all and received great service from the waitress. It definitely feels like a place that you could bring the family, a date, or just treat yourself to a solo date.

Tonkotsu ramen is amazing as always! We also had the truffle oil broth ramen today and it’s delicious!

From the moment we stepped into Hajime, we were blown away. The ambiance was perfect for a casual dinner/lunch. Our server was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The japanese ramen was simply divine! The flavors were expertly balanced and the presentation was stunning. We also loved the shisito- it was crispy, flavorful & delicious. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu! Highly recommend this gem!

Fantastic food and service. Ultra Spicy Ramen and Veggie Onigiri were delicious and the service was incredibly nice and professional. Will definitely be back between classes in the future!

We stumbled upon this ramen spot while in the Buckhead area, and I’m happy we did! Hajime’s ramen was absolutely delicious, rich in flavor, freshness and spice. We tried their takoyaki, kimchi chicken ramen, chicken buns and ultra spicy ramen (level 1). The restaurant was pretty chill, service was good, plenty of parking!

Google
This was a great place to get a bite on a cool evening. We went in at 6:30 pm on a Saturday night and it was pretty quiet, but picked up after we were there for a while. The waiter was friendly and helpful explaining the menu items. The food was very good! The price was very affordable as well, about $14 for a large bowl of ramen. I highly recommend the tonkatsu because it is so savory, the meat melts in your mouth. Our appetizer arrived very late but the waiter discounted it half off which was nice of him. Overall I would definitely come back or recommend this place to a friend.

Yelp
One of my go to ramen places. It has been more hits than miss for the most part. Their Tonkontsu ramen is really good and I've heard great things about their Shoyu and Spicy kimchi ramen. Usually the service is pretty prompt as well though it might a little slow on the weekends.

Yelp
Dine-in: Saturday 5/27/23 12:30p I stopped by Hajime for quick lunch. The restaurant was not that busy. Menu accessed thru a QR code. The ramen here is average. The broth is rich, but a bit salty. The noodles are fresh and perfectly cooked. They have different selections of ramen broth base, but at the time there was only pork broth available. Each ramen entree come with slices of pork and and a perfect cooked soft boiled egg. I like that they offered other options like rice bowl, curry and a lot of variety of appetizers. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. Overall, foods was average, service staff is pretty good, restaurant atmosphere is casual.

Yelp
Hand-made ramen noodles freshly made in the restaurant. Cooked by passionate chef and served by polite staff. Tonkotsu Ramen (pork belly), Seafood Ramen, Spicy Miso Ramen were both delicious and filling. House made Kimchi was a surprised bonus. Takoyaki was great too! 8 balls for $10 making it both the best deal in town. Ume Ice Tea was as refreshing as can be. Overall very fair pricing overall as well. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I dined at Hajime for lunch on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 12:30 pm. The restaurant was pretty empty when I went, but got busier a half hour later. Ambience: The restaurant had an industrial design with the unfinished slab floors, exposed ceilings, and Edison light bulbs. The kitchen is exposed with the glass windows. Super casual chill vibes here. Food: The menu was pretty simple and straightforward. There is a standard selection of ramen that already comes with an egg and sliced pork. Additional toppings were available at a charge if you want to customize your bowl further. I had the spicy miso ramen, which I thought was a little salty. I liked that the noodles tasted fresh. The egg was slightly undercooked as I'd prefer it to be medium-boiled instead of the yolk being a little runny. The egg was also not marinated enough, if not, at all. I think nori seaweed should be a standard topping for all ramen, which was missing from the ramen bowl. The octopus ball takoyaki tasted flavorful and pretty much equal to other takoyaki I've had at other Japanese restaurants. Service: Our server was friendly, attentive, and professionally answered our questions about the menu. Waters were refilled and the food came out in reasonable time. Overall, I think the ramen could be slightly improved in terms of balancing the flavor in the broth. Service was excellent.

Yelp
Been going here for 3 years and it's the best ramen in Atlanta, and has only gotten better over time! The only downside is that sometimes the service is pretty bad, but the food is pretty consistent and tastes great. The restaurant has a great ambiance, and I'm always interested to listen to the music since it's picked by the server currently working.

Yelp
Back to overindulge at one of my favorite restaurants! The service is always wonderful. It's spacious and peaceful and there are gender neutral restrooms if you're into that. The honey miso ramen is just as delicious as when I first tried it. Of course I got the buns and pork chasyu.

Yelp
This is absolutely the best ramen in Atlanta. We have been coming here since their first week and let me tell you, you will not be disappointed. The staff is super friendly and remember us and what we order. Casual dining in a non-stuffy atmosphere. Highly recommended. Pictured: Cabbage Ramen and Ultra Spicy Level 3

Yelp
I was actually heading to rain sushi but for some reason their doors were locked. I think goodness they were because it led me to go to Hajime for lunch. Tucked right in the corner of the Briarcliff shopping center is this hidden gem. Upon entering I was greeted by my server instantly I also noticed the restaurant was much more spacious than I anticipated. I was told to sit wherever and decided to best see that the house was at the bar. Initially the QR menu was not working for me so I asked the waiter what he recommended for an appetizer and he said the kani no ebi maki... Of course I had no idea what that was but it's shrimp wrapped in cucumber topped with a crab mix and a spicy Mayo sauce on top. It was delicious! I inquired about alcohol and my waiter told me about go to fridge and pick what I thought looked good. Well I was in luck because I found a lychee seltzer that was perfect not too sweet. I wish they sold those in stores. For my entrée I already knew based on the name that I was getting the stir fried kimchi Ramen with the spicy noodles. If you're wondering it was not really spicy at all. But the flavor was absolutely delicious and to my surprise the chicken was cooked perfectly. That dish was The perfect size and hit the spot the noodle to ingredient ratio was spot on as well. I could definitely see myself going back to try some of the other things they have on the menu since my initial experience was so great.

Yelp
Have been coming for 4 years. Great broths, great rice bowls, and great noodles. Very rich flavors and scrumptious scrummy toppings. Lots of different dishes to try. Overall quality took a dip over pandemic but has since recovered. Chef is a cool guy.

Yelp
If there's a few spots off Cheshire-Bridge, there is one place you'll need to stop by and it's Hajime Ramen. It's literally tucked in the corner of the Briarcliff shopping center literally pushed to the furthest corner of the plaza. I didn't know this but the people that own Umaido in Suwanee also own this place as well so there should be some consistency in the ramen and needless to say, it is consistent. I needed lunch as I forgot to pack and I did want to try Hajime as per a recommendation from a co-worker so I opted for it. The place has an industrial feel to it with it's sealed/treated concrete flooring, exposed ceiling, and with it being a bit larger than it's sister restaurant made for a more relaxed dining experience, especially since Hajime has bar seating in it as well. Now the food. I decided to order the lunch combo special. $24 dollars for a measly bowl of rice and edamame. I'm not big with the soy beans so I left that out but the karaage don they served was fantastic! The chicken was plump and juicy! The breading wasn't overwhelming. The flavor was grand. Along with the lunch special, I had to order a bowl of ramen which was the main goal. I opted for the ultra spicy x2 tonkatsu ramen. The ramen definitely had a rich broth to it. And the spice level of it was odd. Yes it did have bite and it complimented the rich porky broth but something about it seemed off. Perhaps the after effects of MSG which I could tell had loads of it since I had that after consumption savory burn to it. The noodles were thin which held the broth per slurp. The chashu pork slices were flavorful with just enough fattyness. Overall, I'm not too sold on the place because it was lunch and not a whole lot of people during the 12:30 lunch hour but the food itself was decent and definitely a good spot to hit up for a lunch if you're in the Lindbergh-Buckhead area.

Yelp
Awesome ramen in Atlanta! I first heard about them when I was camping in the smokys and a group of campers were planning on driving an hour out of the way to have their ramen on the way home... I knew I had to try it if it was that serious lol. Fast frwd a few yes later and I finally got tge chance.. and they did not disappoint! I got the ultra spicy ramen with a heat level of 2 and it was perfect! My friend got the tonkotsu and she loved it! My wait is finally over and it easily met my expectations!
google avatar

Charles W.

Yelp
My favorite ramen spot in Atlanta and just a few blocks from my house. We usually get the miso or tonkatsu ramen, add extra chashu and I add noodles again (so leave some broth) it's like I'm eating 2 bowls of ramen.

Michael McAllister ..

Yelp
The food is always great here and the Ramen is fantastic! The servers are all attractive and professional. I went by today and they would not serve me because they were having a health inspection. This is a poor reason to turn away customers, but usually it's a great place to go.

Yelp
Came here for a second time and ordered the Tori Karaage Don. The food was great the karage was hot and crispy. The rice was perfect and I also ordered a side of their homemade kimchi which was great too. We'll definitely be one of my go to lunch spots!
google avatar

Yelp
This review is for takeout only. We ordered over the phone at 8:10 on a Sunday night and it was ready in 15 minutes. Staff is wearing masks. Here's what we got: - Tori Ramen ($12): The broth was super good. Loved the fried onions and soft boiled egg. There was kale instead of spinach, but I didn't mind. - Tonkotsu Ramen ($11): My husband really enjoyed his ramen. It was packaged really nicely for takeout. The bowl with the ingredients was big enough to pour all the broth into when we got home. For the price, the portion, and the taste, we would definitely order from here again!

Yelp
Food was not food, service was rude. I ordered take out and was laughed at for my order. Paid prior and when it was time to pick up for they lost my ticket and had to ask the chef again if he hasn't forgotten anything. Cold and dry krab salad. First and last time going.

Joshua S.

Yelp
I haven't walked out of a restaurant in a long time. Between the terrible service and the cleanliness issues we felt we just had to leave. Chef was rude and every single thing in the restaurant is sticky. Should've turned around right when we walked in. I've been going to this place since it opened and this was the last time. It's sad to watch a place suffer like this

Yelp
We had a Yelp 5-star experience when we came here to eat a late dinner in late October on aWe had a Yelp 5-star experience when we came here to eat a late dinner in late October on a Tuesday night. Parking was easy to find in the large green parking lot shared by many businesses in the strip mall. We got here at around 8:45 pm, and they were scheduled to close at 9:30 pm. There were only two employees working at the time, and I was afraid that they were either going to tell us that they weren't seating anymore customers for the night, or would rush us. However, neither was the case, since the host/server warmly greeted us immediately when we walked in and invited us to sit anywhere, and we sat at a small table against the wall. There were two other groups of people in the restaurant with us, and they didn't look like they were in any hurry to leave. Our server gave us menus and left us to take care of the other tables. He came back within a few minutes and we each ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. We got our food within 10 minutes, nice and hot. The egg was perfectly cooked medium, the pork was seared perfectly and the flavor was great, and I loved how the broth tasted. The crunchy textures of the veggies were ideal. We both loved the quick and efficient service and the outstanding food, and we were out of there by 9:30 pm without feeling rushed! The restaurant is light on decor on the inside, and, to me, looks like a mix of industrial meets Japanese, with more industrial than Japanese. That didn't matter that much to me, since everything else was great
google avatar

Brenda K.

Yelp
The ramen was good but still not like the ones in Japan! The soup had great flavors and the egg was cooked perfectly! It had really delicious pork pieces and the ramen was cook just right! Need to go as soon as they open because during Covid, you don't want to sit next to anyone! The service was great, except the food took a little longer than I expected!
google avatar

Ann W.

Yelp
This is very average Ramen. Family actually voted a 2 1/2 stars but I'm being nice. We had 2 ultra spicy ramen, not spicy at all. On a spice factor of 1-10 barely a 2. We also tried the Wasabi again, no heat barley Wasabi flavor and the Honey Ramen. Honey was slightly sweet but not honey tasting. Another item at home was the pork sticky rice, good flavor but the issue was the actual pork or lack there of. You see the 2 Ultra had inedible Pork pieces, we have pictures, due to all fat and no meat. Same thing in the rice. If your looking for just an average bowl it's okay but for the money we will pass. There are just too many better bowls out there
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
Super cheap considering the portion sizes, so great for college students. Service was slow. The ramen is pretty average, but the curry with pork katsu is my go to. Good place if you're craving Japanese food as they have a variety of apps and sides.
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE the ramen from this place. The Extra spicy Ramen is my favorite, and I always add some pork belly to it, because it is super yummy! I felt very safe picking up my order as all employees had masks on and prepaying for my food made it an easy in-and-out affair. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Kaitlyn R.

Yelp
I visited on a Wednesday. I was the only person there until a couple came in as I was leaving. Staff is very friendly and attentive. (The music was great!) I ordered the Yaki Gyoza and the Ultra Spicy Ramen, level 1. When I tell you it was perfect, I mean it was exactly what I had hoped for and more. As someone who LOVES spicy foods, I'd say their spice levels are akin to Thai spiciness so I'd advise starting with Level 1 and if it's not enough, going up the next visit. I appreciate the fact that they didn't try to lower the spiciness because of my appearance as some restaurants specializing in foreign cuisines have been known to do. It was a perfect meal and I will 100% be returning.

Lucy K.

Yelp
Our most favorite Ramen place is Umaido in Suwannee. We just discovered that it is exactly the same as Hajime! We LOVE this restaurant! Highly recommend Ultra spicy Ramen (we choose level 2) with kakuni topping. This is the best Ramen in Atlanta.
google avatar

Clint E.

Yelp
I liked Hajime more than I expected to. I was meeting a friend, she chose the venue. I am a **huge** Asian food fan, but with the exception of sushi/Japanese. So, I was a bit careful when ordering, so that I avoided those types of flavors. I loved the shishito peppers I'd had in Barcelona, so ordering those were a definite no brainer. They were absolutely delicious! I decided against any soup with egg/seaweed (bleck!), so I ordered a dry noodle dish- in peanut sauce. Sadly the name already escapes me, but the attached picture should be helpful. All in all, color me surprised. I will be back!
google avatar

Natasha D.

Yelp
I placed a to-go order via Grubhub on a Saturday evening and my food was ready as promised. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen ($12), Karaage bun ($4) and Ebi gyoza ($8). My favorite was probably the bun, which had spicy fried chicken, and a close second was the gyoza which had shrimp inside and was pan-fried. I've definitely had better ramen elsewhere, but it wasn't bad by any means. The restaurant was clean inside and the staff member who gave me my order was very courteous.

Ryan A.

Yelp
I didn't get the opportunity to dine-in or place an order. My friend and I walked-in at 1:08pm... we stood at the entrance for around 5 minutes and watched several employees walk past us. We were never greeted or acknowledged, but instead, was met with disdain... the employees would glance at us from across the room and then turn their backs as if we weren't there. The restaurant had only 1 table occupied at the time.

Yuan W.

Yelp
It's pretty salty right now,and the pork bun is terrible now.don't wanna go back again
google avatar

Jamarcus T.

Yelp
In a very short time, i've been to Hajime on three separate occasions, and each time I left I was very satisfied! The crazy thing is we've lived within minutes of Hajime for 7 months and only recently discovered this place! For our latest visit, there was a group of 4 of us, and we were seated quickly. Staff were (and always have been) super helpful, both on suggestions and with any allergies at the table regarding what to try or what to remove from the dish. We ordered the following for the last visit: Steamed Edamame ($4) Honey Miso Ramen ($11) Tonkotsu Ramen ($11) Yaki Gyoza ($7) Hirata Bun ($3) Karage Bun ($5) I also used the yelp check in deal to get a free topping for my ramen. I ordered their Kakuni topping ($3 without a check in deal) The Steamed edamame came out first and these are pretty standard. Well seasoned, steamed nicely and really fresh. If you like edamame, you know what you have in this. Yaki Gyoza came out next and were shared between four of us. Yaki Gyoza are steamed pork dumplings with mushroom, onions, scallions and their gyoza sauce. Sadly I tried this at the end of the evening when it was cold, so this was just okay to me. Everyone else seemed to really enjoy them though. This was my least favorite dish. Both the Hirata and Karage buns came out after the ramen, but they were a welcome addition. The Karage bun is fried chicken with spicy mayo and a sweet sauce. Guys the chicken was NICE! I was definitely a fan of this. The Hirata bun is a pulled pork bun with onion, mayo and scallions. This bun was also really good with a nice sauce and tender meat. Both buns were a hit for me. Finally the ramen...I ordered this evening the Honey miso, but I have ordered their tonkotsu and spicy ramen. I love the broth here, including the honey miso, which I thought would be off puttingly sweet. No, it was just faint enough to take the salty edge off. Very nice, guys! The portion sizes are pretty good with these bowls, and they actually do listen to you if you ask to have something removed due to allergies or personal taste. The add on Kakuni topping was nice and had nice flavor, but I really don't know that I would have paid $3 to add it on. Still, very nice that they're yelp friendly and accept this deal. Definitely redeem this and tell them when you're ordering that you want to use the deal! While I was happy with all of their sides, here's the thing...The edamame came out and less than 5 minutes later the ramen hit the table. I'm not saying to not order any sides. What I am saying is if you order something to hold you over until the main course shows, don't...because they get their ramen out to you FAST! Located in the shopping center anchored by publix, Hajime has shared parking, and while the parking near hajime can be a challenge to find spots, you will never be without a parking spot. You just may have to walk a bit. Multiple exits are here on either Cheshire bridge road or Lindberg, so you wont have a problem getting out. I've been pleasantly surprised with Hajime, love the customer service and enjoy the food. I already know i'll be back for lunch, for dinner, and all meals in between. If you're in the area, it may be worth your time!

Yelp
Hopeless ramen and super slow service. I have had a marathon of craving ramen lately and never tried this place before and thought I'd give it a shot since my go-to place is closed on Monday's. Really wish I went elsewhere. Looked like only one person was working in the back and there was one server on-site. He was dragging his feet to get to every customer, including a larger party. There wasn't an exorbitant amount of customers so I didn't understand the sloth-like movement. Took my ramen 30 mins to come and it was extremely lackluster and overly spicy. I ordered the kimchi ramen with fried chicken and the chicken was meh. I only ate 1 out of the 3 pieces and forced the rest of the ramen down my throat. The broth was okay, had a strange sour taste to it but that could've been with all the toppings. This place seems to be a hit or miss based on the reviews below. Obviously a miss for me. Not sure if I'd come back here based on my experience.

Yelp
Located in a big shopping center next to Tara cinema. Plenty of parking. Modern looking from the inside and sort of industrial modern looking inside. We came on Easter Sunday for lunch. It was not crowded and we were seated immediately. Big menu featuring mostly ramen, appetizers and rice bowls. I opted for the vegetarian ramen and my partner had a rice bowl with chicken. We had water to drink. After about 15 minutes our food arrived. My ramen was pretty colorful, spring onion corn and spinach. The noodles were green, so I assume they were kale ramen noodles, because I saw something about kale noodles on the menu. My partner's food came in a small bowl with a sauced chicken on top. My ramen was OK, a little bland but I ate it. Next time I will ask for some spicy noodles. My partner liked his chicken. Overall, OK food, great service.

Yelp
This was the most bomb food I've had in a while. Comforting, spicy, DELICIOUS. My mouth is literally watering thinking about the soup. It's soup season. Highly recommend asking to make it spicy. You can get different versions of broth from what I remember.

Yelp
Today was my third & best visit. First things, first the space is very open, inviting, & clean. There's a small bar with a tv & a couple high tops on one side & then a bigger space on the other side with lots of tables. It's a very chill but still trendy place. My food order is the ultra spicy lvl 2 (automatically comes with pork-im sure you can opt out tho) with a side of chicken katsu & a hajime mule. I'm definitely not well versed in the world of ramen so I'm not sure how common this is but Hajime makes their noodles in house. My server told me for the spicy they actually infuse chili flakes into the dough & I thought that was pretty cool. The broth is spicy too but also very flavorful not just hot for no reason. The pork is grilled so it's not too wiggly & has a nice char which is good since it becomes submerged. Though the pork is nice, I personally think adding a side of chicken katsu is oh so necessary. The way the breading takes on the broth but still adds a little crunch, I just love it. I could honestly eat at least two bowls but I try to take it easy I've been a moscow mule girl for a couple years so I like to think I have a really good handle on what's what in that category. Hajime has one of the absolute best I've ever tried. Turns out all the ingredients are imported & they include sake. It still has that crispy/spicy ginger taste I love but also incorporates hints of citrus. I went ahead & had two The next time you're in the mood for ramen you have to try this spot & I'm sure it will become an instant fave for you too.

Yelp
Best ramen closest to where I live. My wife and I usually get the tonkotsu ramen and order of takoyaki. The broth is rich and not so thick, which I like. We also introduced this ramen to our two-year son, and he loves it too. As for me and my family - we are fans of Hajime.
google avatar

Tiff H.

Yelp
I've seen Hajime through good times and bad and the ups and downs. Currently, they're not at the best. But recently, I was surprisingly satisfied at my experience. We went for a late lunch so the restaurant was pretty empty and close to closing for preparation for the dinner service. We shared a combo of noodles and rice, which is a good deal for two who weren't particularly hungry. The Tonkotsu Ramen wasn't as salty as the last time I ordered it. Rather, it was much more reserved in sodium but not lacking in flavor. The broth was rich and flavorful. The noodles were fine - we also asked for a kaedama, although we may not have needed it. The Chashu Don wasn't as insta-worthy as I hoped. The pork was pretty good, similar to the Chashu found on the ramen. A little too much sauce but easily fixed by removing maybe 1/4 of it. The scallion offset the heaviness of the aioli/sauce. What is most frustrating to me is the lack of consistency. I prefer not to have to re-write a review every time I eat here! Hajime has/had so much potential - I hope they will continue to take the constructive criticism, focus on the minor issues that could become big problems and stabilize the ups and downs.

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place does not have better reviews, but I enjoyed my visit overall. We came here on a Friday night with a party of 6. There was no wait, so we were seated right away. As we were dining some new diners trickled in as well but it was never packed. First thing that caught my eye was that they made noodles on site! Brownie points for them! Not a lot of places do that, even the authentic ones; most of them contract it out to a noodle maker. Since they make it on site, you can swap out regular noodles with spinach noodles or spicy noodles. For my visit, I went with the spicy miso ramen. If you check in, you also get an extra topping so I went with spicy cod roe. Overall, my ramen was pretty tasty. The noodles definitely latched on to the broth which made it savory. Mine wasn't spicy enough so I asked for their chili oil. My friends ordered the regular tonkotsu ramen and the spicy tonkotsu. I tasted my friend's broth and thought the spicy tonkotsu was more flavorful, so I wish I ordered that one instead. $1.50 bottled Asahi and Kirin! What more can you ask for?

Yelp
The food is excellent. I ordered the ultra spicy Ramen and chasu Don. The service was fast and the waitress was very attentive. Pricing is also reasonable. Will come back and bring more friends!

Yelp
Hajime is a ramen shop that's been around for a couple years. I've seen this restaurant many times when I dined at Rain Thai and Sushi Bar and have had this place bookmarked for a long time. I finally decided to check it out after a work function last night. We came in around 8:30 pm on a Thursday. From the outside, I thought Hajime would be a small, intimate type of restaurant. But I was surprised walking in. The restaurant was well-lit and unpolished. I think they were going for that rustic warehouse-type of feeling I guess? I wasn't really feeling it. The staff was great! Super attentive and quick to get our orders. Being that it was our first time, they were really helpful giving us recommendations based on what we liked. *Seafood Ramen ($13): Has seafood broth, seaweed, squid, shrimp, scallop, white onion, sesame, shrimp oil and scallions. This was delicious! I ordered an extra egg (+$2). I don't remember seeing any squid in my soup however, I got around 6 whole shrimps. It's very tasty! If you love seafood, I'd highly recommend this one. This was a super quick dinner so I didn't get to try much. I hear the beer here is only $1.50 for those interested. Make sure to check in on Yelp for your free topping! Would I come back? Maybe if I was craving for Japanese ramen. It was good, but not great.

Yelp
The location on GPS was a little difficult to find. Let me say this was my first time visiting. I love ramen noodle bowls and will always look for the best one in Atlanta. I was excited about this place bc of the braised pork belly however this appetizer was burnt...I didn't complain or send back. I waited until I got my noodle bowl and try to use some of the broth to add to the flavor. But that didn't help. The Ramen noodle bowl was extremely spicy, which is what I asked for. But the pork was less than stellar, and the noodles reminded me of Angel hair pasta versus ramen noodles. I do know different restaurants use different noodles. The amount of food that is given is a lot for the price. The service was stellar, but I was the only person in the restaurant at the time. The decor was interesting. With all of the ramen noodle restaurants in Alanta, I'm not sure I would return to this one.

Yelp
We enjoyed the food here. We had takoyaki, seafood ramen, and braised pork belly over rice. Everything was flavorful. Service was good, but tables were dirty after customers left. We live on the other side of town and with all the Japanese/ramen places in town, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. But if I'm out this way, I'd totally revisit.

Yelp
My husband and I live in Brookhaven, have been 5 times now with various combinations of our 4 young adult children and the food has been excellent every single time. It can be difficult for a large family to find places we all enjoy. One of our 3 sons (age 19 college student in Boston where there are many authentic noodle restaurants) and he loved Hajime. Our daughter(age 24) lives in Denver, is extra particular and loved the food as well as the vibe. The other two both like the ramen Bowls very much and try the higher spice levels. The service can range from very good to a little sparse but most restaurants these days struggle with finding consistent reliable engaging employees. The cucumber ap is always very fresh and tasty. I don't go as spicy as level 1 or 2 and love the Tonkatsu and the Honey ramen. They also have a very nice variety of specialty beers. I hope Hajime will gain more fans and I plan to recommend to more people.

Yelp
Parking - The restaurant is in a bigger plaza with a Publix, movie theatre, etc. so definitely plenty of parking. Ambience - A bit on the darker/moody side, but I liked it and they have various types of seating available. Service - The host was great, but our server kept forgetting us/walking past us, so we had to keep getting his attention. Food - This place was good, but I could not get into the ramen due to the veggie broth they use. It is homemade and has a pungent smell that was more offputting than other veggie broths I have had; however, the Goma Kyuri (pictured) and the Spicy Tuna roll (not pictured) were incredible!

Yelp
Hajime was a great experience on a Saturday night. We walked in and there was no wait. We sat down and ordered 2 spicy ramen bowls and these rice ball appetizers. When we tried the rice balls we had to order more... that's how delicious they were! Once we were eating we noticed the restaurant getting packed with people so we got there at a good time. The service was amazing, and the food was great! I love that it's really close to me so I'll be back. Yum!
