"At the W Hotel along Hoboken’s waterfront, Halifax draws its name from Nova Scotia’s capital city but offers one of the best Manhattan skyline views along the Hudson River. The restaurant’s name is also tied to the northeastern farm and coastal cuisine that’s sourced from suppliers from Delaware up to, yes, Halifax." - Eater Staff

"Specializing in seafood, with plenty of modern American brasserie fare thrown in — such as clam chowder, chorizo flatbread, multiple raw bar selections, corn agnolotti, and smoked chicken — Halifax is Hoboken’s most ambitious restaurant. Located in the W Hotel, the dining room offers views of the Manhattan skyline. For dessert, don’t miss the freshly fried apple fritters with maple sauce." - Robert Sietsema

"Halifax, located in Hoboken, New Jersey’s W Hotel, features floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the New York City skyline. Named after the capital of Nova Scotia, the restaurant is inspired by Canadian cuisine. Chef Seadon Shouse, originally from Nova Scotia, emphasizes seafood on the menu with dishes like 'Cured & Smoked Fish,' including salmon, mussels, and pollock rillettes. The restaurant also offers a variety of seafood entrees, raw oysters, clams, and a selection of salads made with local produce. The interior combines rustic and modern elements to enhance the dining experience. Halifax is praised for both its food and its convenient location accessible via the PATH train." - Robert Sietsema

Honestly, one of the best meals I’ve had in Hoboken in several years. I am a Celiac and they were very accommodating with figuring out if the choices I made were or could be made gluten free. The espresso martini was very smooth. The smoked salmon & smoked trout were excellent. I was surprised and pleased when the smoked meat and cheese also came with some gluten free bread just for me. (If you’re gluten free, you know we almost never get bread at restaurants.) The monkfish & risotto were very good. And the pavlova was adorable & so tasty! Shout out to our waiter, Garegin, who was perfect and so polite. We will definitely come back.

Location is beautiful city scape! Love the modern architecture. Coffee was good. l asked for my eggs Benedict to be well done. Served not well done! Everyone was basically done with their breakfast when I got my well done eggs Benedict: ( Metered street parking.

Have been wanting to come here for brunch for such a long time! Finally took the plunge, and it was interesting. First, they have an unannounced 2 time slot brunch. I don't remember the exact times, but I think the first one ends at 1, I which the whole room is somehow cleared out and tables reset. We arrived at 12, so opted to sit at the bar area so that we could not be rushed to be ushered out by 1 (there's also a large table that's part of the bar area). This area was unique, as it was in-between both the normal brunchers (is that even a word?) and the party brunchers. It seemed as the back room was where bigger groups were sent, and the music and volume was giving club vibes. Now for the food! We were excited for the unlimited small plates. In theory, that sounds amazing. HOWEVER, you are served EVERY small plate! Even if that was not on your wish list. You get one of each and every small plate. My table was a mix of types of eaters, one was no red meat, and the other dislikes breaded things as well as sweets. So already there are things that neither of them will eat, so I, with my fear of food waste, eat whatever they don't. There were some good items in the spread, but really nothing was excellent. There of course were some not greats in the line as well. The good : potato poutine, challah French toast, deviled eggs, and maybe the wonton. The worst was the mac and cheese...it tastes like a milk soaked wet noodle with a little crunch added. Total let down. The others were meh. For the unlimited food package ($35), you can also add one bottle of champagne per person ($49). We opted for the frink package and were tipped off and filled up frequently, but we didn't know when our bottle was done, and constantly lived in panic that that might be our last refill. Overall, I thought my experience was ok and the food was ok. I probably wouldn't come back unless the brunch menu changed. Service was ok, as we were not sitting at an actual table, the bartender had to oversee us from abut away. So there were small delays in getting service, but everyone was very nice, and some of the waiters were quite easy on the eyes as well.

Very clean spacious place in the W hotel. The appetizers are great and huge variety. I got a huge plate of scallops with tons of veg. Desserts were very creative. Great staff and mgmt

Had an absolutely fantastic Thanksgiving 2024 meal here. The food was extraordinarily delicious and the atmosphere was warm and lovely. Many thanks to the whole staff for an incredible experience

Google
Had an amazing time at this spot. Good vibes and atmosphere. The service was great as well. Make sure you reserve your spot before going. Did the $50 brunch option and it gives u unlimited shared portions of food and drink. If u wanted more u could just ask for it but the options definitely tasted great. The chicken, potato’s and Mac & cheese tasted amazing. I don’t know what they put on top of that French toast but that was also absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend going to this spot. Be mindful of parking, only cause the area doesn’t have that much street parking.

Google
Limited menu, with some okay options. The chicken was okay once I cut off the over-fried clumps of skin. Good views if you reserve a table near the windows. I've have experienced slightly more friendly service in other restaurants in the NJ area. Pricey too - the restaurant has some grand ideas about itself...

Weekend Bottomless Brunch is a must try. There were plenty of options to choose from the Small Plates offered and almost every item we tried tasted great. Great view and atmosphere to relax. Service was quick but the person who served us looked impatient, like she couldn't wait for us to leave from the moment we were seated, not sure why.

Yelp
I came here for a professional event on a Friday morning and was amazed by the service, ambiance, quality, views, and location. I noticed that the sales/event manager was very attentive with the primary contact to ensure everything was going smoothly. I enjoyed my experience so much that on that same Sunday, I decided to come back for brunch with two others. For brunch you have the option of unlimited small plates (fried chicken, shrimp roll, deviled eggs & lox, scones, French toast, etc) for $35/PP but if you include mimosas it's $49/PP which is also extremely reasonable. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Went here for dinner with a party of six near Christmastime. Restaurant is a hotel restaurant and sits on a corner lot - has a nice view of the city across the river! We were sat in a corner booth table near the window and it was pretty cold. We were a little indecisive and taking our time, and I felt like we were being rushed by our server. The first server we had was not helpful at all - I asked what she'd recommend between the Amish chicken and pork milanese, and she said something to the effect of "don't get the chicken, it's nothing special/very bland". You should NEVER undersell your food even if you don't like it, I was quite surprised by that. After she came back a second time and we still weren't ready to order, they sent a new server to take care of us. She was MUCH more knowledgeable and helped us walk through the menu and recommended favorites. We started with an other of the housemade bread - yes this was tasty but focaccia for $7? The sea lettuce butter was the saving grace. We also ordered some starters - the deviled eggs (and someone else ordered a salad with their meal). Unfortunately, these never came out before our main meals. The server blamed the cold bar station but as the server, it was kind of her job to see if our apps came out... they comped 2 deviled eggs for us to try which was appreciated (and they were tasty). Four of the six of us at the table decided to split various entrees - SAFFRON RIGATONI, RICOTTA GNOCCHI, SMOKED AMISH CHICKEN and KABOCHA SQUASH. I think the ricotta was my favorite - pastas were made in house and very flavorful. Unfortunately the saffron rigatoni was not good at all - there were still a few pieces of uncleaned lobster shell I chewed on, and the pasta was too al dente. The squash was a surprising dish in how much I liked it! Overall, the food was tasty but the misses (appetizers not coming out, unhelpful server), outweighed the experience.

Yelp
I came for my friend's 30th birthday brunch and we had a nice experience! Our pre-selected all-you-can-eat brunch menu included fresh baked scones, deviled eggs, egg wontons, potato poutine, beef sliders, shrimp salad rolls, mac and cheese, southern style fried chicken, biscuits and chicken gravy, and cinnamon rolls. Highlights for me were the fresh baked scones, mac and cheese, and southern style fried chicken! I'm not much of a brunch person so I didn't expect to love the options, but the highlights were tasty and I'd highly recommend trying them! I also loved that the champagne and juices were bottomless (it really comes out to 1 bottle of sparkling wine per person) and the wait staff was very friendly and wonderful about making sure my glass was filled for the time we were there. Everything else tasted fine, but nothing to write home about. The ambiance was very upscale and everyone was dressed in more of a business casual attire, though I don't think there's a particular dress code. Overall I'm glad that I came here to celebrate a good friend of mine, but at $64/person for some average-tasting brunch items and bottomless bellinis and mimosas, I wouldn't come back unless someone else was treating again lol I parked down the street and paid for metered street parking.

Yelp
Came here with 12 other people for a birthday brunch and it was a hit. The waitress Hiba and all her coworkers took great care of our table with having constant food coming out and making sure everyone had what they need. It was a good variety of food that ranged from sweet to savory. The price per person was decent for the amount of food and drinks we got. The interior is sleek and cozy for intimate outings as well as big parties.

Yelp
4 of my friends and I went to Halifax for Sunday brunch which they have two-hour limits for, hence the reservation times of 10:45/11A, or 1:45/2P. We opted to do the a la carte option but still try at least one of everything under the morning starters and afternoon delights sections. Overall, the food was really disappointing- the smoked chicken on the biscuits and chicken gravy looked and was very unappetizing, the fall squash salad didn't have dressing on it, scones were too hard, the first order of potato poutine we ordered had too much cheese (but the second order we got of it was better), and the french toast was dry with way too much whipped cream on it. I'd say what was better was the mac and cheese, southern style fried chicken (with a different accompaniment than the green bean salad), deviled eggs, and egg wonton. The view of the water and skyline was nice with the floor to ceiling windows, but the music was pretty loud (probably to add to the 2-hour bubbles brunch vibe). Our server Marlon was also nice and attentive. Overall, wouldn't recommend it as a brunch spot in Hoboken to others.

Yelp
Went here for brunch before my cousin's wedding. We just needed a bit of food to recharge, and this fit the bill. Came during bottomless brunch however we just did small plates and did not drink. Service was good albeit on the slow side. Place itself was nice with good views of the city as you could expect. Tried the sliders, deviled eggs, fried chicken and potato poutine. Deviled eggs were decent and I'm kind of a snob when it comes to these. Sliders were fancy (ie: bacon onion marmalade) but were throughly solid; wish I got more of these. Fried chicken was a little underwhelming; thigh meat only and the green bean salad was weird. Poutine is impossible to screw up, and even though this was a noveau version it was still tasty. Not a place I'm traveling to go to, however it did what I needed it to do. Would be back if I didn't hate the W hotel here.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday dinner for my significant other and we were not disappointed. We started out with a seafood tower which was fresh and so satisfying and the homemade bread which was fresh and crispy, the star of the platter was the bass tartar, baby she was a flavorful yummy bite that will have you wondering what is she?! For entrees my partner got the NY strip and I got the salmon, both cooked to absolute perfection. We had got the Nile drink and the patron drink, they were made well nice and strong but not overpowering. Our server was very kind and we were also checked in by the GM who was very kind to both of us. The ambiance is a beautiful sexy scene that you can dress up or down to, dark dreamy and seductive.

Yelp
Please do not come here if you like food! We came here for brunch expecting a unique experience w/ "Bubbles Brunch" and were extremely disappointed with food that was cold, bland, poorly cooked, and displayed messily. I've rated every dish out of 10 but out of 13 things we got only 3 rated above 5 for me so it's really not worth sharing my dislikes. French toast, Salmon + Deviled Eggs plate, & Mimosas, are the only thing worth it here! If you'd like my feedback, keep it simple! Fancy plates aren't executed. You'd be better off serving continental breakfast. Service was fine otherwise, servers are friendly and they have decent music playing and overall a cute atmosphere because of the waterfront.

Stefanie R.

Yelp
A brunch with a view. We got lucky and ended up with a corner booth by the window and it already started off the experience with a cozy, chic vibe. The food is served tapas style where they bring out their whole brunch menu to the table and once you e tried everything you can choose what plates to reorder. I really love this concept which felt like a mix up of family style and tapas for our group of 8. All the food was delicious especially the maple whip that came with the French toast which I never had before. It was light and fluffy and the perfect alternative to syrup which I'm not a huge fan of. Overall bravo. Service was pretty great too. They do rush you as soon as your 90 mins hit but I guess that's their policy.

Yelp
Make sure you specify the type of liquor you want in your drinks. Serving staff decides to serve top shelf booze without asking/communicating to the customer. Extremely unprofessional and will not be returning.

Yelp
A truly delightful dinner, I've heard my friends rave about the brunch, so when I got a chance to go to dinner, I absolutely went! Chef came out and explained a little bit of the Nova Scotia influence on the menu, and it definitely is a lot of seafood! We had a smattering of a few things, including an amazing cheeseboard with duck pate, we also enjoyed some baked clams, some fantastically, dressed oysters, a very well breaded, Fritto Misto, and a very tasty pea salad! For our entrées, we enjoyed the scallops, and also the saffron lobster pasta! Oh my goodness I've never had lobster butter before, and that pasta was literally to die for! And the scallops were melts in your mouth amazing, over a bed of barley. Almost to stuff to have dessert we enjoyed espresso martinis, and also the pumpkin moose, and the apple fritters, which is what the restaurant is known for! You must come to this place for dinner!

Yelp
I went to Halifax for brunch and it was delicious! Their weekend brunch offers a great assortment of food. Although the food is good, I think there's way too much food. I felt sick after because of all the different options. The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was very upscale and clean. I would definitely come again. I'm interested in trying the dinner menu.

Gabby A.

Yelp
Halifax is a nice place to get dinner along the Hoboken waterfront. We went for a date night on a Monday and made reservations ahead of time. We did not need reservations, though, as the restaurant was nearly empty. This made us a little worried, but we sat outside and were greeted right away by our waiter. It was a nice night out, and the restaurant has a great view of the skyline if you are seated in the right spot. I would not recommend sitting outside, though, as our entire meal was disturbed by the insane amount of fruit flies that were attempting to eat our food and drink our wine. I know the restaurant has no control over the bugs outside, but I would not at all return to sit outdoors. Our food was all delicious - we got the house bread, the gnocchi, and the banana foster. Everything was unique and well made. However, all of our courses were brought out at the same time, despite us specifically asking for it to come out separately. I am not sure how this happened, but it was very annoying and caused the majority of our food to go cold and for our meal to feel rushed. While I would recommend coming here for the taste and quality of the food, I would stress heavily to be sat inside and for your courses to be brought out separately.

Michelle C.

Yelp
I had such a lovely brunch here with my boyfriend and friends. It is important to make a reservation since it does get very busy. It it located in a hotel by the water front where you can enjoy a beautiful view while having brunch. The great thing about their brunch menu is that is a 10 course with mini bites and unlimited mimosas for 2 hours. You don't need to keep ordering, they just keep bringing you food and refilling your glass. My favorite mini bite was their deviled eggs, we kept ordering more for the table since they were super flavorful. I also really enjoyed their bite sized lox sandwiches. The service was great and I will definitely be returning. Side note: parking is extremely difficult, parked around 7 blocks away.

Greg D.

Yelp
We had such an amazing evening enjoying all of Chef Seadon Shouse's super seasonal food! The restaurant is located in the W Hoboken Hotel and has an incredible view of the NYC skyline, but that only comes 2nd to all the outstanding items on the menu. Everything was truly prepared to perfection! Thank you to Chef Shouse and the entire team (special shoutout to our server Hector!) for making our evening such a memorable one. We can't wait to return! Feel free to check out our post: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5n_2iWravD/?igsh=YXU1MXU3b2JycmN3

Yelp
Went for brunch and the food although unlimited came out room temp or cold (stayed out for too long) and the quality was not the greatest, like the burgers had too much bread to meat ratio, and the pasta was bland. You need the unlimited mimosa to wash it down.

Blue And Yellow O.

Yelp
Hoboken for a random date night with my partner and in our search for a light hearty meal; landed at Halifax featuring farm-to-table ingredients. You get a feeling of travel "eat-and-go" vibe, located inside the W Hotel. There is a feeling of openness with a great view of the NYC skyline. The staff was attentive to our slightly strange, but common beverage request; Hot water. The food is as advertised, fresh. Starting from the well-organized charcuterie board, loaded with extras to our entree the Saffron Rigatoni ending with the triple chocolate desert. Every dish is meticulously curated to provide a healthy wholesome dining experience. The post-meal walk along the Hoboken Waterfront Walkway is a bonus. Date Factor: 3.5/5 Escape Factor: 1/5

Yelp
We came here for brunch as a group of 6 to celebrate a birthday on a Sunday morning. Reservations are needed ahead of time. We did the bubble and brunch with came with unlimited champagne & small plates. There is a breakfast array and an afternoon one. The morning one consisted of french toast with maple cream, scones, lox, egg muffins to name a few. The afternoon array was salad, wings, sliders and shrimp rolls. The food was coming out really quick and we felt a bit rushed like there wasn't a minute to just sit and have a conversation. The service was good and the view of the NYC skyline is beautiful

Bruna S.

Yelp
This place is beautiful with a breathtaking view!!! Service was efficient and fast! Our food was delicious, really recommend!!!

Ilana Z.

Yelp
Perfect spot for a client lunch. The views of the city are beautiful. Our waiter was nice and attentive. We got a couple apps to share: deviled eggs, raw shrimp cocktail, and fried calamari with mixed thinly sliced crisps. The deviled eggs were pretty solid but I loved the calamari. For my main, I got the strawberry goat cheese salad with a side of salmon. The salmon was super small, but cooked perfectly with crispy skin. The salad barely had strawberries or goat cheese though.

Sabrina P.

Yelp
The the bottom pleas brunch is amazing and a great option for large groups. I was here for Easter, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The brunch menu was faintly style with pasta, sliders, wings, French toast and way more.

Theresa P.

Yelp
I went here for dinner with my partner and the atmosphere is really nice and very romantic with the NYC skyline lit up in the background. I live that they change out their cocktails seasonally, and we really enjoyed the food there overall. We got the oysters and scallop carpaccio from the raw bar dishes, and then each got a pasta dish as our main which was a perfect amount of food! Service was a bit slow but I think that's because they want to give you the time to enjoy yourselves. I definitely want to come back sometime soon to try the brunch

Adrienne M.

Yelp
Visited Halifax for my friends birthday! There was a party of 9 for Sunday brunch. As we know, parking is always crazy in Hoboken; my friend paid $40 for the lot across the street. I took an Uber this trip to Hoboken and I'm so glad I did! Halifax is located inside the W Hotel which is beautiful! There is indoor and outdoor seating. Either way, you'll still enjoy views NYC. Since it was a nice day, we were seated outside. This brunch is not your typical brunch; you get bottomless small plates along with unlimited mimosa refills. Plates of french toast, deviled eggs, fruit, yogurt, wings, mac and cheese, salad and so on. You can request as many plates as you want. My favorite thing was the french toast with the maple whipped topping. SO GOOD! There weren't many vegetarian/vegan options so keep that in mind. The waiters were super attentive and made sure your cups were filled. We also ordered chocolate martini shots for an extra $4.50 each, those were good too. Total per person was $63 which wasn't bad at all. For the ambiance, unlimited small plates, unlimited mimosas and service I would definitely come back here!

Carolyne G.

Yelp
Great food! Superb service. Excellent ambiance. Will definitely return! Might even be our go to Brunch spot!

Bryana F.

Yelp
Had my birthday brunch here! around $60 for bottomless brunch. We sat outside. They messed up my reservation but thankfully had room for us outside.

Mark K.

Yelp
Terrible food. Great view. Save yourself the trouble. Chef is a disaster zone. Served spoiled fruit and rotten eggs

Janine C.

Yelp
I had my bridal brunch at Halifax for a group of 10 women and it was wonderful! I worked with Briana in events to select my personalized menu with brunch food selections and she was so helpful/communicative We were seated for 11-1pm brunch time and service was great, constantly refilling drinks and bringing out the unlimited tapas! (They even gave us one last drink on our way out to enjoy in their lounge). Recommend for any bigger group events, especially since it's not necessary to book a private room or have to deal with a food/beverage minimum!

Ashley P.

Yelp
Very chic interior with a great view of the water. Had cute lamps at the table for some extra lighting. Food was tasty, but I would say a little overpriced. Wish the portions were bigger for sure. Service was fine, nothing to write home about. Overall had a nice experience for my birthday dinner.

Prianka S.

Yelp
Came back here to try brunch and I have mixed feelings about it. The service was still nice and the ambiance was good for a weekend brunch. It's unlimited small plates. Personally I liked the breakfast items more than the lunch items. The highlights were the French toast and deviled eggs! The lunch items were mediocre. Personally I didn't really like any of those. Overall, brunch is nice for the ambiance and experience but only the breakfast items were good.

Kaitlin S.

Yelp
Before I get to the good which is a lot, I am docking 1 star for the hostess (specifically the one on Nov 4th brunch). We love Halifax brunch and have always had great food and service - we booked brunch for today at 1:45 stating we had a stroller. We got there early to make sure we could get seated and be out of the way when the crowd came; however we were met with a rude hostess who said we couldn't be sat until 2 (fine but why put reservations up for 1:45). When 2p came along, we were nearly run over be all the tables waiting for 2p reservations. The unfriendly hostess started to seat the people that came in last (did not come to the "waiting area" that she sat us in 30 min prior). All that aside, this is the best brunch in Hoboken. Food and service are great, it's really a brunch experience. And all the servers are so friendly.

Aya E.

Yelp
Ordered: The Bubbles Brunch (~$55/person): 2-hour Bottomless Mimosas with freshly-squeezed orange & grapefruit juice and 10 dishes which included Deviled Eggs, Cous Cous Salad, Halifax Smoked Salmon, Cheese Bread, Potato Poutine, Chicken Meatballs, Mac & Cheese, Beef Sliders, BBQ Chicken Wings, and Challah French Toast Aya's take: Cute ambiance, very modern feel, and overlooking the water! For some reason, the place was not well ventilated at all. Not sure if it was an off day. Most of the dishes were good although nothing spectacular. I particularly liked the Challah French Toast, Chicken Meatballs, and Mac & Cheese. I like the variety of dishes they offer and the Bottomless option is truly bottomless! They just keep on coming. Overall, it was a great place to celebrate a friend's birthday.

Josh B.

Yelp
Even the mustard is great. The five-item fish/meat/cheese combo is superb. I advise selecting at least three of the seafood options. Instead of branching out too much, I once again chose the excellent maple smoked salmon, pollock rillettes and trout. The creamy Kunik cheese is outstanding, pairing well with the abundant bread. Completing the order was sea truffle salami. The fruity accompaniments provide a stellar contrast to the smokiness. Halifax also provides a legit Caesar salad; anchovies are present.

Yelp
My wife and I wanted to try somewhere new and decided to come to Halifax for a try. We got apps and drinks - and we were very impressed with the food and service. It was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night. And after finishing our apps the night took a turn for the worse. We then didn't see our waitress for the rest of the night. After waiting 30 minutes - We had to go to the hostess to ask for a dessert menu. After that I had to make eye contact with another waiter and he came to our table to take our order. I asked if our waitress left for the night - and he said not at all but then he was our waiter for the rest of the night. We didn't see our waitress for the rest of the evening. The service was extremely slow. Very dissapponted and definitely don't feel like returning. Honestly as I write this; we won't be returning. It was hard to enjoy our date night because of this poor experience and before leaving a review I wanted to make sure management was made aware of this unfortunate experience.

Julia D.

Yelp
Trendy upscale hotspot. Pooped in the other night with some friends. Had an amazing meal - roasted strawberry salad, lamb ragu, NJ Scallops. Everything was exquisitely made. Desserts dream. Can't wait to go back. Artful. Right on the water. They have an outdoor patio too - can't wait to go back and sit outside.

Ivette M.

Yelp
Had brunch here with a party of 12 and we all had a great time. Bottomless mimosas were on point. The food, music, customer service , everything was great :) I definitely recommend

Christopher N.

Yelp
Halifax is a wonderful bottomless brunch gem in Hoboken. I don't often find myself in Hoboken, but it was worth the trip from Queens to see some friends and have a great brunch. Definitely do bottomless. Unlimited food and, despite what I had read here, unlimited champagne and bloody Mary's! They even give you little bottles of orange and strawberry juice to flavor your champagne. Service was impeccable; they keep the champagne coming! Food was also very tasty. Some highlights for me were the quiche, shrimp rolls, chicken & biscuits, and sliders. To be honest the only thing we didn't enjoy was the mac and cheese because it didn't have any flavor. Everything else was good to great! The restaurant is located right near the water, so it's nice to look outside and check out the view. Then you can walk, or more accurately, waddle, along the water after your very filling meal! If I'm heading over to Jersey I'd be happy to go to Halifax again.

Sitara S.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with a group of friends for the new year around noon. It was pretty empty probably because it's a Monday afternoon. The lunch menu itself seemed pretty small but it had some good choices. I had hoped for a brunch menu but it seems that's only for the weekends. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and wedges and it was a pretty filling meal. For drinks, I had the winter spritz with was a twist on aperol spritz but with cider. It was very yummy! The staff was kind and attentive. I would recommend if you're in the area!

Debbie S.

Yelp
It was good and bad. I'll explain: Pros: Beautiful ambiance! Lovely relaxing music Gorgeous decor Cons: Food and drinks were just ok. Nothing wow-ed me. The seafood pasta didn't have a lot of seafood, and the flavor was good, not great. Waterside Restaurant does the same dish for the same price loaded with lobster and the flavor of the whole dish is spectacular... this was not that. Same with my cranberry cocktail - it didn't have that wow factor or pop of flavor I was expecting since it's supposed to have spices in it. The Brussel sprouts and butternut squash side were pretty good. Dessert as well was just ok - the pumpkin cheesecake was light which I liked, but no amazing flavor profile. SUPER CON: if you have food allergies, do not come here!! I said 2x and even before i ordered dessert, that I'm allergic to nuts, and the nut granola was all over my dessert!! They comped me a free dessert, but that is absolutely unacceptable.

Yelp
Great brunch spot with friends and family. Love the course meal and the unlimited champagne

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience here. The service was top notch and the food was excellent. Would definitely come back. Halifax is located right next to the Hudson River with beautiful views of the city. Perfect location for a night out.

Yelp
The Halifax brunch is 10/10. Ambiance 10/10. The servings are small but they spaced it out intelligently that it won't make you feel super full in the beginning. I opted in for double shot espresso instead of the unlimited champagne because I was driving but even the coffee is 10/10. I cannot wait to go back again!

Yelp
Great spot for a dinner date, catching up with friends, etc. not only is the restaurant beautiful, the staff is great and the good is delicious! It's a little on the pricey side, but worth it. Also, the wine is perfect. I had a great time here. I'll definitely be back. Also, looking at the city while having dinner is a win!

Yelp
When here for brunch recently and it was mediocre. It's a shame because this use to be a staple place for me and my friends. The food use to be so good but not anymore. Everything we had came out cold, bland and tasted like it was under a heat lamp for 5 seconds . Me and my partner felt uneasy after trying to digest the array of food. The service wasn't good either. There was 2 large parties going on and all of the wait staff seemed to pay more attention to them versus two people. We had to ask several times for anything we requested such as orange juice for the sparking wine, a second course, etc. we also ordered espresso martinis and they tasted so bitter! It's a shame that not even a basic drink tasted good. Also be careful ordering items off the alacart menu. We ordered 1 $4 dessert and they charged us $14 for it. Twice ! Thankfully we noticed. I really considered not giving a tip at all because of the horrible service even though there were about 5 waiters I could see and several runners yet no one was paying us any attention. The only good aspect of this place is the location , ambience and sparking wine deal. If you're coming for the food maybe skip it as it wasn't settling the best in our stomachs.

Yelp
Went there for a birthday dinner for 9 people. The food was great. The service very bad. Slow, incompetent, and inattentive. Loved the deviled eggs. Smoked chicken main course was excellent. We waited at least 45 minutes after finishing our appetizers before we finally got served the main course. The maitre d came over to apologize but should have at least offered a free drink or something. We were starving by the time the mains came. Interested to see the review below mentioning "fresh and crispy homemade bread." We were never even offered bread which would have made the long wait tolerable.

Yelp
My friend had her 23rd birthday celebration at Halifax on a Sunday morning for a group of 19. The staff at Halifax was very kind and easy to work with in terms of arranging the menu and allowing us to all sit at one time and placing name cards on the table according to our seating chart. Our drinks were constantly refilled and food was brought out continuously at the request of the birthday girl. However, there were often delays in bringing out certain dishes and despite asking for more mac and cheese, our request was ignored. We had also asked for sliders earlier in the meal, but they were only served in the last 10 minutes of our allotted time. The first dish we were served was the fruit salad, which was disappointingly cut up too small and frankly, difficult to eat with a fork. It would have been less work for both the kitchen staff and guests if the fruit was chopped up in larger chunks. However, I did appreciate the assortment of fruit included in the mix! The smoked salmon, which came with cream cheese and crostini was delicious, but the mac and cheese was the star of the show! The chicken meatballs were too salty, but the french toast was amazing. The maple whipped cream was top tier and there was plenty of whipped cream for the four slices of french toast included on each plate. The salad was sadly unimpressive with an overly large portion of leaves, although the candied walnuts were a nice touch. Overall, we had a good time at Halifax, but I felt that there could have been a larger selection of food to choose from, and some improvement could be made on some dishes. However, the location itself was beautiful and the service was wonderful!

Yelp
One of my favorite spots to brunch, without a doubt! Bottomless brunch, means bottomless food and drinks, for an hour and a half... and the second your glass is a little bit not full, they make sure to fill it to the top! They create a great atmosphere with blasting music and overall fun vibes, like a club during the day with a lot of variety of food coming out to your table nonstop. I love coming to Hoboken for this place! @rissyjayeats
