Halls Chophouse - Review - The Gulch - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Nashville likes a good steakhouse, but the Williamson County residents really love Halls. And that’s saying a lot, considering how wary they are to cross the county line for pretty much anything. But still, they make the trek for a 40th birthday, or a tomahawk to celebrate the latest promotion, which inevitably ends up documented on a Facebook post with all the appropriate parties tagged. And how are you supposed to get tagged if you aren’t there? photo credit: Casey Irwin photo credit: Casey Irwin photo credit: Casey Irwin photo credit: Casey Irwin Pause Unmute" - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Where to Eat the Best Steak in Nashville and Franklin | Eater Nashville

"Halls has a very scene-y vibe about it — it’s a see-and-be-scene spot whose elegantly modern steakhouse interiors match the polished plates and choice cuts of beef. A Charleston original, the Nashville location serves USDA prime steaks from Allen Brothers of Chicago that have been wet or dry-aged for prime tenderness. Sides like pepper jack grits and cornmeal-fried okra add some oomph to the meal while a seafood tower for four attracts neighboring eyes." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Stopped in for dinner last week. I ordered the 16oz wet-aged ribeye which was seasoned well. My co-workers had the 20oz dry-aged Kansas City Strip and the 6oz grass-fed filet. We had garlic spinach and the pepper jack creamed corn skillet for the table. The creamed corn is a must have. Great steaks combined with awesome service. Can't wait to go back.

We enjoyed dinner and drinks at Halls Chophouse. Joey was behind the bar and he did a great job sharing information about the each drink of the Old Forester flight my husband had. He was very knowledgeable about the food and offered great recommendations. We enjoyed Joey's service so much that we canceled our reservation in the dining room and stayed for dinner at the bar. Bone in filet, bison, and caramel cake were all good, too. I just forgot to take pictures of them.

This was our 4th celebration at Halls, but first with the Nashville location. We sat in the bar area and enjoyed music from Henry. He accepted requests, & did a great job on a few of our favorites. The service from Bailey was phenomenal. She had us laughing the entire time and was great with making the experience personal with including our son in the conversations. The food, the reason we come… the steak was amazing, the mashed potatoes were phenomenal, and the chopped salad and bread pudding are the entire reason I would drive from Ga to have. You cannot go wrong with these!!! We look forward to many more celebrations spent here!

Highly recommend! Elexyn was our server and amazing! We came for dinner and it was delicious!! We had the oysters Rockefeller which were blue point oysters from east coast Virginia. I had the wet aged petite filet with truffle butter melted on top cooked medium well. My husband got the dry aged ribeye cooked medium. We split a half dish of the loaded mashed potatoes without bacon and the pepper jack corn skillet. The atmosphere and experience was very nice! Would highly recommend!

First time eating at Hall’s and I can’t wait to come back! We had wonderful food and our servers were amazing. The steak tartare was the best I’ve had! Highly recommend.

Google
Best steak I’ve had in nashville. Bone in filet was superb. I’ve had better oysters but they were still great. Banana pudding cheesecake was sublime. Fries were a good add on, favorite side was the grits, we had the Mac as well- also good. Brussels - I’ve had better but still well seasoned. Wine- best I’ve had period. Good selection. Scallops were great as well but go for a steak just trust me! She crab soup also sublime!

We spent about $250 for two people at Halls Chophouse, and overall, it was a great dining experience with a few standout dishes and some minor letdowns. We started with the parmesan truffle fries, tuna tartare, and stuffed mushrooms. The truffle fries were a solid 10/10 as always—crispy, flavorful, and addictive. The tuna tartare was fresh and delicious, another 10/10. The stuffed mushrooms, however, fell flat for me and I’d probably skip them next time. For mains, my friend had the prime rib and absolutely loved it—perfectly cooked and flavorful. I went with the lamb, which was also cooked and seasoned to perfection. I added a side of chimichurri sauce, and it complemented the dish beautifully. As for sides, we shared the Brussels sprouts and loaded mashed potatoes. The Brussels sprouts were underwhelming and kind of bland, while the mashed potatoes were good but nothing special. In the past, I’ve had the lobster mac and cheese and would likely choose that again over the sides we tried this time. The only downside of the evening was the host—he was a bit rude when we first walked in, which set an awkward tone. Thankfully, our server turned things around with great service throughout the meal. All in all, Halls Chophouse delivered on the food for the most part, and I’d definitely come back—just with different side choices and hopefully a better front-of-house experience.

My wife and I enjoyed Halls Chophouse for our anniversary this year. It was so special. Our sons moved to Nashville a couple years ago and got us a gift cert for Halls. It was so nice! The atmosphere was fantastic and the food impeccably prepared and presented. My wife had one of her favorites -wild caught salmon- and loved it! I had the Bison filet and couldn’t have enjoyed anything better. The staff was obviously top tier and treated us like royalty for our anniversary. Thanks Halls - you guys nailed it for us!!

Yelp
We had heard good things about this restaurant and decided to try it out. To start, we all had various drinks from the bar, which were good but nothing out of the ordinary. Where we expected to be blown away was by the steaks. They put a lot of emphasis on their steaks that are flown in from Chicago. Everyone got a different kind of steak: prime rib, filet, strip. I tried all of them and don't get me wrong, they were good, but not the best thing I've ever had or anything. The Mac and cheese and Brussels were almost more the star of the show. The ambiance was also not my favorite. I understand that they want enough workers there to wait on everyone hand and foot. However, it was definitely overkill and they could probably drop their prices just a smidge, if they weren't paying 5000 people to constantly stand over your back to watch you eat. It was an ok experience as I can now check it off my box of having tried, but not somewhere I will be telling people to go all the time.

Yelp
Atmosphere was really pleasant. We came here for the gospel brunch, but didn't hear much gospel. Then again my take on gospel may be different than Hall's take on gospel. Service was great overall. Food was subpar to me. The fried green tomatoes with the corn topping was phenomenal. I wanted to love the French toast(I'm a French toast girl), but they were too thick and hard for my liking. I would love to come back and try dinner. Overall it's a beautiful establishment. The decor was elegant and fitting. Cleanliness was top tier including the bathrooms. Parking-valet for I believe $17 or park in the garage around the corner.

Yelp
Headed to Hall's to celebrate my SIL's 40th birthday. What a great choice! Ot was a stormy night but the right mode was set when the valet pulled out the gold umbrella to escort us to the door. We were warmly greeted by every staff person we encountered. Service was attentive and well-informed without being intrusive. I've never had a bone-in filet and this was perfectly cooked. It was so creamy and tender. Best stuffed mushroom with a sauce to die for. Sides are excellent. The toll house cookie dessert was delightful. Halls rises to the top tier among Nashville steakhouses!

Yelp
I've come here for dinner once but have been wanting to try the Gospel brunch and what better day than to come for Easter Sunday. As soon as I walked in, I could hear the beautiful angelic voices of the amazing artists. We chose to sit on the patio which was covered today but gave a nice breeze for the day. Our waiter was very attentive and walked us through the brunch menu but also letting us know that the majority of items on their dinner menu was also available to order. I ordered the chophouse omelet and a pineapple mimosa. The omelet was really good but a bit salty at times. The mimosa was really good. On the menu they only had a regular mimosa but I asked if they can do one with pineapple juice and they made it for me! The patio is away from the live music but at times they had some old school Gospel tunes playing on the speakers which was nice Overall, the music was amazing but would definitely plan to sit indoors next time just to hear the live music better but the food and atmosphere was really good. Highly recommend this place whether you're coming with your friends, family or a date, this restaurant is a nice treat The restaurant offers valet which was $17 today

Yelp
This place was seriously impressive! Recommended by a friend, I gathered a small group of girlfriends for a meal. The service was excellent; our server patiently walked us through the menu and meat options. I opted for the Wild Salmon with crushed fingerling potatoes and the Halls Chop Salad--both delicious choices. We also shared some sides: Lobster & smoked bacon Mac n cheese and loaded mashed potatoes, which were incredibly satisfying. Overall, a great dining experience!

Yelp
We went here for lunch today for our Anniversary, and it was excellent. They had live music up front in the bar area, but we sat towards the back in the dining area. The interior is classy and modern feeling to me. It's above moderately priced. It has the fine dining experience with top notch service. The brunch menu is a little more moderately priced. My wife ordered off the brunch menu and I ordered off the dinner menu. We had 2 sides that we shared. All the food was very tasty and plated with care and they even spooned out our sides for us, which just added that personal touch. We parked in a garage down on Broadway, but I believe you can park in the hotel garage right next door ( Self park or Valet ) I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
The food and drinks at Hall's were so delicious! Our steak was cooked perfectly and everything was amazing. The bartenders took care of our needs for dinner but I have to send a shout out to the hostesses tonight for tracking down my phone number from our reservation in order to contact me about my husband leaving his credit card behind when we left the restaurant. We were in from out of town and planning to leave the next morning so they did us a huge favor by contacting me right away to let us know. Thank you so much - We will be back!

Yelp
New Year's Day lunch did not disappoint. The service was top-notch and the food delicious. Sounds of soul and R&B classics filled the classically decorated dining room. I opted to start with a wedge salad with ranch. My friend ordered fried green tomatoes for the table. The tomatoes were perfectly crunchy with a delightful crab, bacon and shrimp succotash topping. For my main dish - the prime beef shish kabobs drizzled with a garlic herb mayonnaise and a side of fingerling potatoes. The beef was cooked to perfection. Finally, a glass of rosè and the warm Tollhouse cookie skillet put an exclamation point at the end of stellar meal. I will definitely visit Hall's Chophouse when visiting Nashville or Charleston again. Bravo!

Yelp
Pretty standard steak house experience. It's got an extensive menu so covers all the bases, but nothing super exciting. Started with the burrata which was pretty run of the mill - the tomatoes were unripe and the burrata wasn't as creamy as the best versions I've had. Got the lamb as my main, which turned out to be a massive portion (I'd share this with another person). I found the lamb undersalted in the center, and generally a pretty average rendition. The sweet potato fries ironically I found too salty and I didn't love that they used such large crunchy sea salt flakes because it added a weird crunchy texture to the fried. Creamed corn had a nice sweetness to it but too creamy for me personally (although everyone else seemed to enjoy it). Similarly, everyone liked the onion strings, although it has this spice I personally don't love. Mashed potatoes are good The cookie skillet was good with the ice cream (which had a super strong vanilla flavor) but very sticky / soft cookie texture which was interesting. The banana cake was too sweet for me but others enjoyed it.

Yelp
We liked our overall experience at Halls on Christmas Eve. Pros: Entrees including scallops and shrimp and grits were delicious and cooked perfectly. The portions were decent for the price. The table bread was also delicious. The staff checked in frequently which was nice. Cons: I made these reservations a month in advance for the dining room and they sat us in the bar. It's a totally different feel than what I wanted for a nice Christmas Eve dinner and it was freezing in there. Our main server was fine, but when one of our guests complained that the Diet Coke didn't taste right, they pretty much argued that it was from a bottle and the next one was going to taste the same. (Another person at our table ordered one as well, and that one was fine). It was just a little off putting knowing we were spending so much money and the response should have just been to bring a new one. The manager did bring one and then second one was fine. The calamari had a delicious sauce, but the overall texture and taste of the calamari was a little lacking. The sides of Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts were fine, but nothing wow about them, especially for the price. Overall, I would go back here for an entree but would likely pick another place of similar caliber to get a better all encompassing meal for the price.

Yelp
Our first night dining out in Nashville did not disappoint! We meandered around after a long travel day and found ourselves in front of Hall's Chophouse; after glancing at the menu and noticing the enticing outdoor seating we decided to take our hungry tummy's inside. I am currently eating for 2 so I was on the verge of hangry (never good). We were greeted warmly by the hostess and promptly seated at a beautiful outdoor table that looked onto the town and also the tv with the playoff nba game on! Barely seated we were offered water of all different types and then greeted by our waiter Joseph. He was attentive, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu (his ability to recite the menu and it's specialties was uncanny...quite impressive). After some collaborating we decided to split the fried okra, wedge salad, prime rib and brussel sprouts. Every single morsel was delightful! The prime rib was cooked to perfection, the okra was salty, crunchy and flavorful, the brussel sprouts had a unique flavor that paired well with the steak, and the wedge salad was good as usual. The prices at Hall's are that of a high end steakhouse, and they deliver quality food, service, and ambience. Many steakhouses offer little for what you pay for, but Hall's is fantastic. The feel of the restaurant on the inside is upbeat, classy and distinguished with its own musical Nashville flare, and the outside has a more quaint and romantic vibe. Hall's Chophouse is a delicious find amidst a city known for its food and flavors. Give it a try!

Yelp
Start to finish, super polished and perfectly executed food, service and ambiance. Live music lightly played in the front of the restaurant by the bar while the main restaurant section is quieter. I love when your napkin gets folded back if you step away from your table level of service so that's the attentiveness you will receive here. Everything was delicious and beautiful as well. Steaks were cooked to perfection. If you're looking for a special celebratory night or just need a relaxing dining experience , Halls will do it well. Impressed by it all and would definitely come back.

Yelp
My wife & I had a fantastic visit to Hall's for our 21st anniversary. First off, they had an excellent live pop/jazz band that night! 2nd, table service was truly top notch! Very courteous, attentive, & proactive. 3rd, our 20oz Kansas City strip dry-aged steak with seared sea scallops added was an exquisite dish. Each bite was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. 4th, very very good cocktails. Hot pepper martini & ginger hammer were both very well crafted, smooth, & strong. We don't go out like this often, but Hall's was excellent start to finish.

Yelp
One of my good friends wanted to go here for her birthday so we went. We went around brunch time. I had the cheeseburger with truffle fries. Had water and a Bellini to drink. The burger was massive. I had to cut it into quarters. I have a small stomach so there was no way I could've ate that whole burger. It was very tasty. My friend had the crab cake eggs Benedict. She said it was delicious. Our service was superb! Nice live music and peaceful atmosphere.

Sharon H.

Yelp
The food was great, loved the seafood tower. Very attentive service. Valet parking was really helpful since my husband is handicapped. It's a lovely restaurant. We had a wonderful time.

Kimberly D.

Yelp
The best meal of our lives! The ambiance was beautiful. The customer service was beyond all expectation! They made our 15th wedding anniversary so very special. Our plans changed last minute to include Halls chophouse, and we couldn't have been happier! Then! A week or two later, we received a handwritten note from our waiter! What a special touch and so very personal!!!!! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Gave Halls another shot. Ordered the bone-in filet this time. Still fatty and hard to chew. I don't think it was just by chance this time. Not a fan. Also the server seemed irritated that we waited on an additional person to arrive before ordering our mains, despite us ordering hundreds of dollars of drinks and apps. Plain and simple, I can cook a far superior steak at home and not have to feel like spending $800 for dinner for 2 was chump chain to our server.
google avatar

Mandy K.

Yelp
I can't say enough about the service at Hall's. Sheer precision. Mix that with a 5 star menu and live jazz, and you've got my repeat business. Keyton in special events is fabulous to work with. She accommodated our party of 25 with ease and grace. Don't skip the she crab soup or the bread pudding!
google avatar

Arthur B.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic in every single way. The entire staff - waiters, bus boys, hostesses - literally everybody greets you and then thanks you for coming. The waiter discusses the menu with a level of knowledge that I would expect from a chef. The martini was full to the brim. The wine recommended was fantastic. Often I feel ripped off when I buy a bottle. At Halls I felt extremely pleased with the recommendation, which wasn't even the most expensive bottle available. The oysters, calamari, salad, and tomahawk steak were all fantastic. This was the best seafood and steak I had in Nashville. The Halls Family has brought Charleston to Nashville. Incredible!
google avatar

Brian N.

Yelp
Hands down.... One of the best dining experiences ever. Took a customer there, and we all agreed, that it was one of, if not the best dining experiences. Staff genuinely cares about its customers, and kitchen staff, has it down to a science. Well done... VERY well done! A++

Yelp
I had no reservations ended up sitting in the patio and it was great. The restaurant is dark and sexy your traditional stake house. The service was incredible my waiter was amazing he checked on me few times and made sure everything came out perfect. The food was delicious my stake was very flavorful and marinated to perfection. Now the loaded mash potatoes boy it was the best thing I have had in a minute. Over it was an great experience. Meow meow

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Fantastic setting. This place is huge. They had music on one side and quiet area on the other. We will be back.

Yelp
I am a little late posting this review, but my entire experience at Hall's was so stellar, I'm compelled to let everyone know. My business partner and I booked a reservation here to celebrate our recent success. Everything from our arrival and the pleasantries exchanged with the valet to the food program and quality, and the staff, was en pointe -- actually, they embody what a fine dining establishment truly should be! Make sure to try their Tomahawk Steak -- the best I've had in Nashville! We spent about $900 for the four of us (we don't drink alcohol) and it was absolutely worth the price!

Chris H.

Yelp
These guys know beef and high touch customer service. Special family dinner made outstanding with service that felt like we were there only table ( we were not). Want to do something unique- try the Tomahawk!
google avatar

Julina K.

Yelp
We went in on a Saturday evening, it was packed. They had a band up front, I like that there were so many windows. We didn't like that the tables were so close to each other, so we felt squished, Started off with Dom Perignon and appetizers. We really liked the burrata salad and the Cobb salad. The crab cake wasn't our favorite, the consistency was like mashed potatoes and it was mushy. I ordered the grouper which I really liked, the steak was good, the scallops were cooked perfectly too. As far as the sides, truffle fries, potatoes, skillet corn and Mac.n.cheese was good. The mushrooms and brussels were not the best. The crème brûlée was alright. We weren't a fan of the chocolate cake or cookies. They gave us complementary dessert cocktails and that was good. I'd go back, but out of all the fine dining restaurants, this isn't my favorite place.
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
We had a nice Christmas eve dinner at Halls Chophouse. Four of us shared the fried calamari, which was very good, but not the best I've had in the area. We also shared brussel sprouts and lobster mac and cheese for our sides. Like the appetizer, our sides were very good, but not the irresistible fare you equate with a high end restaurant. The large pieces of bacon in the lobster mac and cheese overwhelmed the delicate lobster. Now for the entree, the shrimp and grits were absolutely amazing, packed with flavor, and worth returning just for that. Plus, the portion was large enough that I had enough for lunch the next day. I also tried my wife's scallops, which were perfectly cooked. The service was good, but again, not the high end level of service you would expect with this caliber of restaurant. As to the ambiance, we specifically reserved the dining room, but were instead seated in the bar area, which was much less formal. This area also had a live band which was playing music that was too loud for a high end restaurant. We were looking for an elegant Christmas eve dinner and likely would not have had an issue with ambiance had we been seated in the dining room as intended. Also, the mouthwash in the bathroom was a welcome surprise and a nice touch.

Yelp
What stands out to me the most is the incredible service and homey feel of this place. You are immediately greeted by a ton of smiling faces and you can't help but feel welcomed here. Our reservation was pretty early at 5:15 and the place was about 1/3 full but continued to fill up throughout the night. Though we went for dinner, I can imagine their front area would be an awesome happy hour spot. We started with stuffed mushrooms and steak tartare, against the recommendation a few other reviews on here. If there is steak tartare on a menu I will be ordering it and I was NOT disappointed. For a steakhouse, this was an amazing portion for the price! Plenty for four of us to have a decent portion of. Stuffed mushrooms were tasty but don't know that I would get them again. My husband opted for the 12 oz filet which we ended up sharing and my main focus was the sides. His steak was perfectly cooked and it was garnished with an avocado sauce of some sort which completely elevated the steak in my opinion. My husband enjoyed it without. For the sides, we did the mushroom risotto, corn, and lobster mac and cheese. PRO TIP- you can get 1/2 order of sides. Such a huge win IMO to be able to sample more. The corn was the star of the show, followed by the 1/2 order of lobster mac which was the perfect portion for all 4 to try as it is super rich and heavy, and lastly the mushroom risotto. Would have enjoyed a little more flavor with the risotto, but still good. At the end, they brought 4 glasses of bubbly to celebrate my husbands birthday! Overall great experience and we will absolutely be back!

Yelp
Highly recommend Halls Chophouse. Not only do they have outstanding customer service, but the food is outstanding. Thanks to Justin, our bartender, for bringing the Charleston service to Nashville. When we see a Hall's restaurant in a city we are visiting, we will not pass up the opportunity to dine.

Yelp
Stan the man served us. Best dinner I have had in a looooong time...and I'm from Nashville! Filet Oscar style, soft shell crab, tuna tartar, martini.... 10/10

Yelp
What can I say, Halls Chophouse is THE BEST!!! From the gracious friendly staff to the amazing food. Halls is like no other. Definitely eat here!

Yelp
Simply amazing! I've been here a couple times. The food and drinks are great. Great atmosphere. And the servers were really nice too!

Yelp
My husband and I had reservations for dinner at Hall's Chophouse on a Friday evening. Our reservation was for 8pm but our table was not ready, so we waited in the bar. The bar was PACKED. Actually, I would have hated to be seated at the bar, especially if trying to enjoy food, because so many people were hovering over those who were seated. We split the Halls Chop Salad which was very good. If you plan on eating more than a salad for dinner, splitting is definitely the way to go, as the salad was large. I ordered the Petite Cut Filet Mignon and my husband ordered the Bone-In Filet. Our server let us know that the sides were rather large, so we ordered half size Broccolini, Mac 'n Cheese, Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach. All were good but nothing was soooo amazing that I can still remember the taste. My husband's steak came out the wrong temperature, so they had to refire. Other than that, it was a good experience.
google avatar

Beverly F.

Yelp
Ribeyes and filets were done perfectly! We really liked the family style serving on their sides as the four of us could then share them. The sauteed spinach was delicious and the fried onion strings were a favorite for all. The only con was my hubby said his baked potato was somewhat overdone. The music was very nice and at the right volume. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm & inviting. If you want an upscale dining experience you should choose Hall's Chophouse.

Yelp
Excellent food. Excellent service! Loved that the floor manager came to every table to see how everything was going. We will come here often!

Yelp
We enjoyed a Christmas dinner event at Hall's last night. It is a beautiful, festive location near the Conrad Hotel. The bar is lively, band really in high spirits, entertaining the entry area of the restaurant/bar. There are many sections of seating to accommodate gregarious celebrations as well as quiet, romantic dinner. The food is great, service is even better. I had very basic food, Caesar salad and French onion soup (especially tasty), but the table had seafood towers, steaks, chops, and the creamed corn was especially tasty. Sides are shareable and beautifully presented. The biggest negative is nothing in Hall's control, the horrific growth and traffic in Nashville. It has become a celebration destination, massive hotels everywhere, and just getting there from the suburbs takes twice as long as it did a few years ago. Give yourself extra time to get there, and definitely enjoy the festive Christmas environment!

Yelp
So disappointing! My wife, daughter, son in law , grandson and myself went to Halls on Monday 6/10 to celebrate our 41st anniversary. We were visiting from Florida and the reason we chose Halls was our previous visit last year for our 40th. That was an amazing dining experience. Not so this visit! My wife & I both ordered the prime rib. Mine was supposed to be medium rare and hers medium well. I had to send mine back as it first came out almost raw. Could not even cut it! They took it back but the 2 minute reheat did not solve the problem. Was still one step over raw. My wife's was totally grey through & through. Not a sign of pink anywhere. The waitress confirmed when she took the order that mine would be mostly pink inside but cooked more outside & the medium well would have a pink center but more cooked to the edges. Not even close. All of the sides were excellent though. The service was ok at best. Drink refills took a long time. They did however serve us a complimentary glass of champagne and they brought my grandson (2 years old) a very nice plate of fruit. We were really hoping to have the same experience as last year but it was not to be.

I had a lovely evening dining at Halls Chophouse for my birthday. The restaurant is huge and is sectioned off quite nice. It's now at the top of my list for BEST steakhouses in Nashville. The little details were so pleasing to me! We ordered several shareable sides and they were served for us on a separate very modern side plate. Really loved this! Our server was very knowledgeable and didn't steer us wrong. The bone-in filet mignon was impeccable! Cooked perfectly and topped with the black truffle butter accompaniment. The Skillet Cookie , dessert wine and brief chat with the sommelier was a good way to bring the dinner to a close. Thanks for such a lovely

Yelp
Hall's is hands down one of the best steakhouse I've ever been to. Dining room service is 5 star from start to finish. They have an extensive wine list, whiskey list and steak selections (pro tip: order a half bottle if you aren't looking to share or you can cork your bottle up and take it home!) You can even do a steak presentation if you wanted to determine the best cut for you. I got the 8 oz filet and my husband got the 16 oz ribeye. We split the broccolini, mashed potatoes and loaded baked potato. All the sides are served family style and intended for sharing. We definitely would have been content with 2 sides, but wanted to try 3. We were not able to finish all our food and took a bit of each home. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we're wished a happy anniversary by multiple staff members. They also served us complimentary champagne (which was delicious)! Parking tip: they do validate parking from the parking garage connected to the restaurant, but we found street parking for free as well.

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere & amazing customer service! My husband & I enjoyed The 434 & Old Fashioned. They were both delicious. For dinner we had the salmon and 8oz filet with brussel sprouts, corn, & the lobster Mac. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
It's been a few years since I've eaten at this level of restaurant. When we walked in the door we was immediately greeted, as we walked to our seat we was spoken to by ever employee we passed welcoming us to the restaurant. As soon as we arrived at our table we was greeted by our waiter (Bill). I can't say enough good things about Bill he was amazing. The food was beyond anything we expected, we all had steaks they were best I've ever had, cooked to perfection. We had mashed potatoes and the corn, amazing again. We never wanted for anything, there was someone at our table at all times, checking to see if we needed anything, cleaning off table, cleaning off table cloth. It's rare you eat somewhere and the service is amazing and the food quality and taste is equal to the service. This place is past amazing. Can't wait till our next time.

Yelp
Second hand embarrassment is how I'd describe my experience here. Starting off with walking up to the host stand with 5 people around it, then being told to just pick a spot anywhere in the barroom. I've been walked to the bar at an Applebee's, but the hostess and gm seemed too busy gossiping to care. We finally pick a spot at the end of the bar by the service well, which I'd suggest against because it is the most claustrophobic I've ever felt with nobody sitting around me. I would have to guess they're going for a record of most seats and tables in a barroom. Starting off with the saddest plate of fried calamari I've ever seen. It looked like they accidentally poured too much sweet chili sauce onto the plate and sent it out. Our mains made me wonder if the cooks were going drink for drink with the guests at the bar. The plating was god awful, slightly charred half of a tomato and a wilted piece of lettuce with a squirt of sauce on it(??). The steaks looked like someone sat on them and thats what they considered seasoning. I know sandbagging is common at tourist centered spots but damn make it less obvious the kitchen doesn't care. That being said the drinks were the only saving grace about the experience. If you like food, don't go here. Built for and ran by yuppies and good ole boys with no taste and poor fitting suits. I'd be embarrassed to even serve people the food that I saw come out of the kitchen.

Yelp
My friends took me to Halls Chophouse in Nashville for my 50th Birthday and I felt like the red carpet was rolled out for me. The minute we walked in the door we felt like part of a family, the food was amazing and the employees were just as amazing. I cannot recommend this place enough if you are ever in Nashville. The employees were very knowledgeable, friendly, considerate and kind. I will definitely pass the word on to as many people as I can!!!!! Thanks Halls for making my 50th Birthday extra special! Yelp
I would go back to this place over and over again strictly for the service, martinis, oysters and ambiance. One of my new favorite restaurants hands down.

Yelp
I was able to snag a reservation last minute and I'm so happy it was possible. The restaurant itself is beautiful & very clean. The staff were all super friendly and everyone was very knowledgeable on the menu. The fried green tomatoes will keep me coming back themselves. Filet was buttery & cooked to perfection. Finish off your meal with key lime pie..the merengue was to die for!

Yelp
We went here for our anniversary dinner. We had some of the best service we've experienced in quite some time, and this fact makes up for the bulk of the review. The sheer amount of attentive staff, which is reminiscent of an old-school dining environment, was on point. We loved this aspect of our night out here. In fact; the maitre'd, Vlad, is what saved the fourth star for this night out. Where this restaurant falls short is the presentation. While our server was pleasant, attentive, and personable, he fell short on the presentation factor. Our meal missed the steak introduction, and this aspect for us makes up a five-star experience. Other tables around us experienced this, while we did not. Dining staff should all be trained to the same standard, and this oversight reflects the loss of the star. Steakhouse experiences in Nashville are hard to come by. Usually it's a low-bar experience, and you shouldn't expect much. Hall's aims for a more national-level premier experience, but the Nashville location could use a few staff training refreshers to get it up to par with the brand. Would we go back for our standard anniversary dinner event? Not at this time. There are other steakhouse experiences in Nashville that live up to the hype. This did somewhat, but we just weren't "wowed" with that nostalgic, old-fashioned, let's drop a ton of cash, dining experience ‍. Still looking for the Charley's of Nashville (Orlando steakhouse in Kissimmee).

Yelp
Overall, I would give 3 1/2 stars. Couple things didn't impress me on first impression. They have Valet available, but is not complementary and you can not bill to your check. The valet takes payment upon your arrival. Seemed cheesy to me to take as you arrive and was surprised it was not complementary. Overall, cheap on the restaurant part. For this price point, they should offer complementary Valet. I called the hostess to see if we could park ourselves in the garage underneath and the cost. They didn't know on cost, but you can park in the garage underneath. I did find parking on the street, but there is not a lot of available street parking. Once in the restaurant, very nice and multiple staff welcome you as you are taken to your seating. The restaurant is larger than you think with an L shape. Sort of a strange configuration. I was taken back to a meeting room with a large group. Room was nice and private and noted service was good. Which can sometimes be hard to find private dinning options for large groups in Nashville. They seemed to have multiple rooms. We had seafood tower to start and it was good. The shrimp were big and tasty. Lobster was good too, but I would recommend more melted butter on the table for the lobster. For main course, I ordered the filet and was not impressed with the steak. I was expecting it to be out of this world given the meat presentation. But, found it not flavorful at all and added salt/pepper and still not seasoned to my liking. For the price point, it should be out of this world and not blah. When the staff delivered the steaks to the table, they asked everyone to cut inside their meat to see if cooked to their liking. That was sort of strange to me that we all had to stop and cut into meat at same time and each comment if we approved. After reading reviews, it seems to be a problem in desired cook. But, mine was cooked to my liking w/ medium well. We ordered sides for the table of mashed potatoes, mushrooms, Brussels sprouts. The wait staff place the sides on your rectangle side plate. But, on the mash potatoes you get a small teaspoon size drop on your plate. Sort of comical, who only eats a teaspoon size? Since they dish it out, with a large party you don't feel comfortable asking someone to give you more. Overall, maybe let everyone just pass the sides to begin with. Dessert was a chocolate cake with rasberry sauce inside. It was VERY rich. I had to bring home to have later. Overall my feeling as a steak Restaurant, it was just ok. It is not in my top ranking with other steakhouses in Nashville. I would come back again with a business group, but probably not on my own.

Yelp
10 out of 10! Celebrated a few milestones with my girlfriends recently and it was perfect. The service, the suggestions, the people, the menu, the food, the drinks.. every detail exceeded my expectations! We will be back, but until then, we will be dreaming of our dinner!

Yelp
Food was on point and I had one of the best Old Fashioned cocktails in a long time. 12 oz dry aged filet was perfectly cooked, with mushroom risotto and broccolini. Service was impeccable and dining on the patio on a 70 degree evening, just added to my experience.
