Hamilton Pork serves up Texas-style BBQ plates and signature tacos in a rustic setting with a cozy side yard, perfect for summer feasting.
"One of the city’s best and smokiest barbecues is found in Jersey City’s plush Hamilton Park neighborhood. Hamilton Pork has lovely summer seating in a side yard, and the dark interior could double as a beer hall. Barbecued offerings run from the core favorites (brisket, pulled pork, chicken, beef ribs) to the lesser-seen (pork belly, lamb ribs, habanero cheddar sausage), along with barbecue tacos and a whole slew of sides. — RS" - Robert Sietsema, Melissa McCart
"This Jersey City barbecue spot has a bunch of picnic tables in its backyard, as well as tables on the sidewalk available every day, including weekend brunch. Follow their Instagram to stay updated on specials and patio hours." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, matt tervooren
"This barbecue in Jersey City, a few blocks from the mouth of the Holland Tunnel, was founded in 2016 by brothers Michael and John Gondevas. In addition to great beef brisket, pork ribs, and pulled pork, find uncommon items such as brisket sausages, crusty and chewy lamb belly, and tacos filled with various forms of barbecue, squiggled with sauces. The fenced-in side yard is an added plus, about as close as the metro area ever comes to Austin." - Robert Sietsema
"Whether you’re looking for a rack of ribs in the middle of the day, or brisket and cornbread at dinner, order pickup or delivery from Hamilton Pork." - matt tervooren
"This sleeper of a barbecue from brothers Michael and John Gondevas is located in the Hamilton Park section of Jersey City, near the yawning maw of the Holland Tunnel. It does all the barbecue standards well, with a simple rub and plenty of smoke, but then adds Tex Mex to its menu and some obscure raw materials to its barbecue list — like this rarely seen lamb belly. It looks like pork ribs, but tastes far different. And it was not the only dish that I liked the hell out of at this under-the-radar spot." - Robert Sietsema
