"Woodley Park’s resident dim sum destination doesn’t have push carts, but small plates like crab meat dumplings, scallion pancakes, and roast duck fly out of the kitchen to the tune of bottomless mimosas. It swings open on the weekends at 11 a.m. and on weekdays at 11:30 a.m. There’s also newer locations on Barracks Row and in Georgetown." - Tierney Plumb, Stephanie Carter, Emily Venezky

"D.C. gets a zen new spot to order a parade of Cantonese dim sum and soup dumplings with the opening of Han Palace on Sunday, April 10. Instead of sending out pushcarts, the kitchen makes dishes to order, with options like steamed shrimp dumplings, roasted pork buns, and scallion pancakes from dim sum chef David Xie, along with a variety of crepes, noodle, rice dishes, and Peking duck." - Tierney Plumb

We got the soup dumplings, braised pork, bean curd with oyster sauce (not pictured), and crispy eggplant. I was disappointed with the soup dumplings. Almost no soup, but the flavor and filling to dough ratio was still really good. Crispy eggplant was wayyyyyy too crispy. Everything else was made perfectly!

We’ve been here a few times. Would recommend the peking duck, hot and sour soup and chicken feet. The shrimp dim sum is ok. This time we had the scallop dim sum, which had a tough and chewy wrap and barely any scallops, mostly shrimp. Tofu wrap dim sum had way too much tofu to meat ratio. The cai lan/Chinese brocoli was super tough (probably on the older side) and definitely needed to be cooked more. Dong po rua (braised pork belly) was very tender but too salty, and it seems they used the same sauce to marinate roasted duck to make it, which is kinda weird, but not bad. Overall decent for a Chinese place near the zoo.

Dim Sum, Chinese favorites, three TV’s and DC celebrities. This used to be a Starbucks, now an upscale space with a bar area. The dim sum was fast and each item had its own unique and delicate flavor. They were out of some saki but still plenty to choose from.

We came here for dinner around 4:30pm. Only a few tables were occupied. If you come after 6pm, this place will be very busy. They don’t take reservations. We ordered soup dumplings, pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings and bean curd rolls with oyster sauce. Food came out quickly. Soup dumplings did not have much soup inside. Other dumplings were a little bland for our taste. After dim sum dishes, we ordered shrimp lo mein and salt and pepper tofu. Everyone in our party likes shrimp lo mein. The portion was large for the price. Salt and pepper tofu was crunchy, but a little too salty. Overall, it’s a nice and clean restaurant with beautiful decor. The service was fine. The food was fine. For a party of 6 or more, tip will be automatically added to your bill. The restaurant is located across the street from the Woodley park-zoo metro station.

Google
We had a bad experience here. There was a group beside our table that was extremely noisy. We ordered scallion pancakes which were too oily and barely had any scallions, spring rolls which lacked seasoning and the vegetables were too dry. For entree we ordered Mapo Tofu and veg lomein which tasted alright. Service was extremely poor. We waited for several minutes for someone to come take our order. We tried calling out to a server but none of them paid any attention. Average food, and bad service. I wouldn't go back again.

Google
Surprisingly out of all the menu items we ordered the seafood fried rice stole the show! It was honestly some of the best fried rice I've had. Pretty much every menu item we ordered was great, from the soup dumplings, to the duck, general tso's chicken, and crispy beef. Dishes were served the moment we finished the one, so the tempo felt very natural for dim sum. The decor is very pretty, the entrance is gorgeous. Only downside is we were seated by the door and you got a direct draft of air coming in every time the door opened. So it made it cold and even cooled down the food faster. Overall would definitely come back again!

Google
This establishment offers exceptional Chinese cuisine. The Han Style Peking Duck and Golden Roasted Chicken are highly recommended. While their soup dumplings are frequently mentioned, I personally believe that the Peking Duck and Taro-Coconut Tapioca are the finest I have ever tasted.

After we were sat, it took 25 minutes for our server to greet us, not ideal, but we understand it’s busy on a Friday night. I got the fruit tea, which comes in a hot glass kettle, with oranges in it. It was delicious, and light. 9/10 The soup was spicy, but not over bearing. There was protein in it, I’d assume chicken, along with other vegetables that made the bowl a well rounded experience. 10/10 The general tso chicken comes with a bowl of white rice, and the chicken is crispy. They sauced it heavily, which I love. 8.5/0 I forgot the name but we got something akin to drunken noodles or pad Thai I think, that was basic but got the job done. Hearty but not an out of this world flavor. 6.5/10 Didn’t try the eggrolls or chicken dumplings or shrimp lo mein, but my friends enjoyed them. The soup dumplings were great- no notes 10/10 Parking is good (for DC), and while you are sat in close proximity to other tables, the ambiance is still chill, not too loud. Paid $30/person for a 4 person party which is nice

Yelp
I had a great lunch here with my friends, exceeded my expectation. The decoration was traditional Chinese, good taste, pleasant and comfortable. We ordered several dim sums and some entrees. They were all good and delicious. I'm most impressed with 5*steamed CHILEAN SEA BASS 清蒸鱈魚: tender and delicious. 4.5*SALT & PEPPER SHRIMP椒盐虾球: very good and not salty at all. Just right. Every dish was good, i ended up eating too much. I had a great experience with here with the outstanding service and food.

Rebecca M.

Yelp
This was a pleasant lunch, I really enjoyed it. We did the all you can eat option B priced at $50 each. My favorite surprise were the soup dumplings and egg&asparagus soup. Nice surprise from the filet mignon. Beef and broccoli was solid. Wasn't a fan of the crab claw in particular but I'm sure others may enjoy. Service was really good, prompt and friendly. Parking was easy street parking for 3 pm.

Yelp
I think Han Palace serves its purpose. By that, I mean to say it definitely brings a different version of "Chinese food" to a non-Chinese neighborhood. The food is 100% inauthentically Chinese but it's also not Americanized Chinese food. The taste wasn't bad and the visuals resembled Chinese food! There were lots of curious culinary missteps; so let's dive in! Misstep #1: the salty fish fried rice was WAY too salty and that made the overall taste subpar. But the saving grace of this dish was that every other component works! The eggs, chicken, and scallions were spot on! If this dish just removed the salty fish, then the dish would have been perfect. So why not just drop the salty fish in its entirety? Misstep #2: the steamed chicken feet was too sweet. This dish CAN be sweet but you have to counterbalance the sweetness with other flavors. The dish that I received was, unfortunately, a bit too sweet. Highlight: everything else about the dish was great (nice texture, spot on with the marination, not oily or greasy) Misstep #3: pork ribs were way too oily. When you steam a pork rib, fatty oil will naturally ooze out of the ribs. The restaurant made the mistake of over-marinating the ribs with too much oil. The taste was good minus the oily part. Misstep #4: I didn't even taste the bean curd in the "Bean Curd with Beef Ball." IDK if the bean curd was suppose to come with the dish or go inside of beef balls. Highlight, the beef ball tasted great though. Bright spots; chow fun and gold/purple yolk buns were amazing. Also, four dim sum dishes + a chow fun + a fried rice for $61 (post tax) is nicely priced. The portions were also fair for the price and location. The service was superb. The staff members were attentive and warm. So to summarize: taste was inconsistent, service was great, and one can expect to eat food that looks like Chinese food but is actually disguised as some other food. Overall, 2.5/5 bumped up to a 3/5.

Yelp
Extremely overhyped. We attempted something new instead of our usual dumpling spot and were severely disappointed. Two bites in and we knew the rest of the food orders we pre planned were null and void. The dumplings were overcooked to the point the dumpling skin was complete mush and the soup dumplings had no soup. The only ones that held up were the chicken dumplings which we accidentally ordered instead of beef, and those lacked any depth of flavor.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday dinner yesterday and it was solid. They have an all day happy hour and bottomless drink options. I got the bottomless lemon drop option. It seemed to be batched (which makes sense), but that definitely affected the quality of the drink. They were just okay. Also it was disappointing to learn that you can't switch drinks when doing bottomless. Doesn't make sense to me. Now for the food, everything was tasty. I got the scallop dumplings to start. They were pretty good. I dipped mine in soy sauce and that made them much better. For my entree, I asked if they could make shrimp & broccoli in garlic sauce (my go-to Chinese take out order) since it wasn't on the menu and they delivered. I found it funny that the waitress commented that the garlic sauce was very spicy and then the person that brought out my food said the same thing. I thought to myself maybe I should be concerned. It ended up barely being spicy lol. It was good and they give a large portion of the shrimp & broccoli. I had plenty to pack up and asked for extra rice to put with it.

Yelp
I love that this Chinese restaurant served dim sum all day. Their dim sum was delicious. The only thing that threw me off was that their water had a hint of alcohol (vodka/champagne) in it. I saw that they have all day happy hour and some bottomless drinks, so maybe the cups/water got alcohol mixed in. * Soup dumplings 4.5/5 - The soup dumplings were flavorful and had plenty of broth inside. They tasted great dipped in soy sauce + chili sauce. * Shrimp dumplings 4.5/5 - These were good har gow with juicy shrimp and thin wrapping. * Shrimp and Chive 4.5/5 - These look fun to eat with the unique green color. They were similar to the shrimp dumplings but with plenty of chives. * Purple Gold Yolk Buns 5/5 - These were so delicious. They were sweet steamed buns with a runny egg yolk inside. The egg yolk tasted like the kind of salted egg in moon cakes.

Yelp
TikTok sent us here. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. Customer service was poor. Weren't greeted upon entry. We had a seat at the bar and sat for 30 minutes before we were acknowledged. I finally asked a bartender if we could place an order and he seemed as if I was asking for too much. I promise, I would have left if I hadn't spent 35 minutes looking for parking. They have all day happy hour and all day bottomless mimosas, maintains and lemon drops. I stuck with the lemon drop because it was tasty. We sat at the bar and the bartender continuously topped us off. I'm not sure how many I had because my glass was constantly being refilled. I also ordered the soup dumplings and chicken fried rice. They were both fine, not much different than an average carry out. My friends and I shared the orange chicken, which was spicier than what I was used to but I liked it a lot.

Yelp
Now...I wouldn't typically make a second review on the same place, but I feel like it's really needed for this experience. I want to show and let those who may read my review know that there are two sides to this restaurant. This is not about the food. In fact the food is the only reason why this review is getting 2 stars. The quality of the food was once again consistent and completely amazing, I'll probably be getting the same thing when I go back for a third time. It was my service. Absolutely trash compared to my first visit. My friends and I utilized the "All you can drink" and ordered food. We got our food before receiving our drinks, and normally this wouldn't be such a huge deal if we hadn't had to hunt down someone. It was embarrassing. Not only that, once we received our first round, our server immediately gave us the check. Mind you, we had JUST got everything to the table. I was confused and frankly upset, because I noticed her doing it to the table next to us. In fact, she tried to give us our check 2 MORE times while we were in the middle of trying to enjoy ourselves. I don't want to play the race card, but the table next to us was all black as well as I, and I just didn't see her treat her other tables like this..who were white. It's not to say it was true, but it's something I personally need to keep in mind wherever I dine and receive unwarranted bad service like this. All in all? She was a terrible server. I don't know why she was trying to rush us out of there, because there wasn't a time limit, they weren't closing anytime soon, and the tables around us were in and out, so we weren't holding back business. Everyone but her assisted us, it was so embarrassing. I don't even want to use the excuse "it was busy" because this place is a hot spot consistently. When I came here the first, it was even busier, and the service was great. I didn't personally tip her. She made me feel so uncomfortable and rushed for absolutely no reason. I just hope my next visit here will be a little different.

Yelp
I saw this place trending on Tik Tok, which I take with a grain of salt since you never know what it will actually be like. It did not disappoint, and you absolutely need to try Han Palace. We went on a Friday evening and the tables are first come first serve. We put our names on their list, and the staff called us when the table was ready. You truly can't beat the amazing food selection and pricing of the menu. We ordered, bao, dumplings, a half order of the duck and had a few cocktails. Everything was delicious and we were super full after leaving. The service was very efficient and the staff were attentive. The decor was fun with the ambiance that you're sitting under trees while you dine, although they are fake. There were so many amazing things we didn't get to try on the menu, so I know we will be back again soon.

Yelp
I have been here twice now and both times have been great, the food is SO good! My hubby, my brother and a friend of mine went here yesterday, Saturday, 1/20/2024 at around 1pm and we were able to walk in and immediately be sat. The previous time I came here, we had to wait a bit, keep in mind they do not take reservations and there is not much standing room inside, so you may find yourself waiting outside while waiting for a seat. We decided to order a bunch of food and share everything, we got the soup dumplings, pan fried chicken and vegetable dumplings, General Tso's chicken, Mongolian Beef, Beef Chow Fun, Chinese Broccoli, and crispy pork. The soup dumplings were delicious, they were packed with porky meat and juicy. The pan fried chicken and vegetables dumplings were forgettable, I wouldn't order these again. The General Tso's chicken was great, a nice crispy exterior and very fresh tasting, this is some, if not the best General Tso's chicken I have ever had. The Chinese Broccoli is also an item I wouldn't order again, it was fine, but truthfully I expected something different and more on the lines of actual broccoli which this is not, so that was our ignorance. The last stand out item was the crispy pork, it was crispy, fatty, flavorful and so yummy. I look forward to the next time I eat here!

Yelp
The Dim Sum at Han Palace is SO AMAZING!!! It's definitely holds the top spot for Dim Sum in DC for me -- and judging by the looooooooong wait to get a table , a lot of other people in DC agree!! Unfortunately, Han Palace doesn't accept reservations. So, if you're going (regardless of how early) be prepared to have anything between a 10 - 45 minute wait. Luckily their team takes your phone number and calls you once a table's available... So, my friend and I went across the road and grabbed a drink while waiting. Their Dim Sum was really authentic and bursting with flavour. We had the Pork Ribs with Garlic, Shrimp and Chive Dumplings, Crab Meat Dumplings and one of my ABSOLUTE favourites the Purple Gold Yolk Bun (Lai Wong Bao). Looking forward to going back and sampling more of their beautiful cocktails, and food from their main menu!!

Bradley Thomas A.

Yelp
Not just that insta-perfect picture, Han Palace actually is delicious too! After an inspiring scroll through the socials, the bougie dinner club crew and I decided to shimmy over to see what the hype was all about. Well, seems everyone else had the same Saturday night idea as well. The line was more of a mass than a queue leading to opportunists cutting to the front; makes the line feel like an eat or be eaten Lord of the flies session. Yeah yeah, but was it worth the hour wait we had though Brad?! I'd say it certainly was! You'll see in the pictures that there's excellent colors, ambiance, and variety! While I'm not going to expound much here, simply put, the food is a rare and welcome evidence of why DC has received more and more of a food scene reputation among global foodies. If you're looking for a clean, picture worthy, delicious, and charming themed sit down experience, this Chinese cuisine will confidently meet those requirements.

Samina M.

Yelp
Han Palace in Woodley Park is hands down one of my favorite places in DC. With the beautiful, clean, and spacious interior featuring red lanterns and trees, it's a fun environment to enjoy with company. My personal favorite dim sum items were the shrimp, crab, and pan fried chicken and vegetable dumplings. All come out piping hot and extremely fresh. The chicken fried rice and garlic broccoli are also too good to pass up. Not to mention the daily $18 bottomless drink selection - need I say more? The service is speedy and impressive for some nights only having a 2-3 person wait staff. Overall, a fantastic place that always hits the spot.

Linda F.

Yelp
Food is amazing and the people that work there are so polite. My family favorite place around our neighborhood

Nina U.

Yelp
The all day happy hour drew us in for sure! Happy hour is $18 all day--a variety of drinks are available and are listed on the menu. However, the drinks are just $7 each! We had quite a few as it was hard to decide. General Tso chicken 4/5 Peking duck 3/5-crispy but not flavorful Shrimp fried rice 5/5-one of the best I've ever had Mongolian beef 5/5 Mai tai 4/5 Parking can be a challenge as the restaurant is on a main road. There can be a language barrier with the servers but they are patience and have other waitresses who are open to assisting!

Austin G.

Yelp
Han Palace is a great Chinese restaurant in Woodley Park. It's small, but worth a visit. Dining on a Wednesday evening with six people, we decided to order two orange chickens, two servings of dumplings, broccoli, shrimp, and sesame chicken. We each got a serving of white rice and it was the perfect amount of food. The food was very flavorful and hit the spot!

Meralina M.

Yelp
I've never had all you can eat dim sum before? What an experience! Overall the food was very good. The noodles were chewy and the flavors of the meat in the buns and dumplings were very good. The plates are a bit small and they do take a while to bring things out which kind of makes you feel and not worth it to get the AYCE, so my recommendation is order a lot up front! The staff was nice was but too worried about coming back to us. There is street parking here, but the area is pretty busy on the weekends!

Jasmine N.

Yelp
I came here with a friend this past weekend for brunch. One tidbit before i start, although they have an unlimited mimosa brunch option, they don't actually have any food brunch specials. It's just their normal menu, which was a little disappointing but not a major issue. The place isn't too big and is nice inside with tree decorations. I was greeted and seated immediately as I waited for my friend. To start, we got the lychee Bellinis. The Bellini was champagne with lychee liqueur and was supposed to have lychee purée but ours only had a single lychee plopped in. However, they were good and we got two rounds. For food, we decided to try a variety of items to share. Unlike typical brunch dim sum, they do not go around with carts and you must individually order everything. We got the shrimp and chives dumpling, pork shumai dumplings, crab dumplings, the pork buns, pan fried beef dumplings, and an order of beef chow fun. All were good. I will say on the shrimp and crab dumplings the dumpling shell was a little slimy which may be an issue for those with texture preferences. My favorites were the pork shumai dumplings and the pork buns. I also really liked the chow fun. For dessert, we shared the coconut tapioca. It's like a warm sweet soup and is not a pudding. We really enjoyed it! It surprised us because it looks odd but it tastes so yummy and warm. It also had I believe taro chunks in it. It was a very pleasant way to end the meal. Overall, we had a good experience and would return. The menu isn't very big but their are good options. They also had many martini options (except they don't espresso martinis fyi). If you're craving dumplings in the area, give them a try!

Christal P.

Yelp
This Han Palace is in the Woodley Park neighborhood of Washington, DC. The traditional Chinese interior decor is fabulous. Very beautiful and red with wood furniture and wall art. I did a quick takeout of rice and Roasted Crispy Pork. The pork was delicious but I was expecting more for $15.95. At least fill the entire small plate and include the sauce separately rather than take up space where the meat is supposed to go. Overpriced but I suppose these are the prices in a trendy area of DC.

Zuri H.

Yelp
DO NOT COME HERE!! Came here expecting great food and service after going to the Georgetown location but was very disappointed to see LIVE flees flying around in the soy sauce tin.

Angela K.

Yelp
I would not come back here again given the very below avg - avg food and very limited dimsum options. If you come here expecting good dimsum id go anywhere else. The options are very limited (like 10 dishes max). We got the shrimp dumplings + shrimp and chive dumplings and the wrapping tasted so gelatinous/chewy in a bad way. Got some entrees as well like the pork belly which ended up being a single large square of pork and cost $18. It didn't even taste that good. The food is over priced for the taste.

Solongo Nicole E.

Yelp
Finally found my go to Chinese place! Great quality food, gorgeous interior, friendly staff and delicious. This is the kind of place you become a regular at. Had a really enjoyable dinner here, everything was perfect. My egg drop soup was very thick and hearty. My partner enjoyed their shumai and noodles. We're definitely coming back to try more dumplings! There were so many choices. My only small complaint is, I wish my Mapo tofu had more tofu! Felt like only half the dish was tofu, and the rest was sauce.

Kim N.

Yelp
We stopped by on the way to the zoo for a quick bite on a Saturday morning. The restaurant was able to accommodate us right away even though it was very busy. We opted for the soup dumplings and Peking duck. Both were very delicious. The dumpling was Full of flavor and soup and the Peking duck crispy and the sauce was perfect. I enjoyed the service and ambiance and would visit again!

Cherish R.

Yelp
The decor is very nice! Food was pretty good. Had soup dumplings, pork belly, Chinese broccoli, garlic pork ribs, and spicy cucumber salad. Drinks took a long time to be served. Make a reservation!

Nga N.

Yelp
This is the second Chinese food/ Peking duck place I've had in DC. They're not the best, just plain mediocre at most. I guess DC is really not known for their Chinese food. Lack of flavors. Lack of taste. Lack of authenticity. Compare to Dallas (where I live), we have better Chinese food.

Jungwon K.

Yelp
This is a fantastic restaurant! The decor inside is clean and well done. We came in right at open and were greeted by our very nice waitress. She spoke canto so my bf was able to order everything we wanted easily. We got a few dim sum dishes, noodles, and pea shoots. The dim sum came out very quickly and were very fresh! There was chili oil at the table, but it wasn't my favorite. My bf said it was fermented chili oil? It was good but a little sour. Either way, it was good with the dumplings and the noodles. Our food had generous portions, so by the end we were stuffed. Great Chinese restaurant!

Marina S.

Yelp
This was my second time at Han Palace and once again I enjoyed my experience there. I will however say that my friends and I were not checked on that much by our waitress but another gentlemen there made sure to tip off our drinks as soon as they got empty so I do appreciated that! Food is exceptional as always and great prices for the meals! The atmosphere in Han is beautiful with all the lights and trees, it gives a nice vibe to the place. I love the bottomless options which makes me want to come back every time !

Kimberly K.

Yelp
Han Palace is a cute restaurant right off the Woodley Park metro stop. I had seen a lot of people raving about this spot, so I wanted to check it out for myself since I love dumplings! We were quickly seated upon arrival. The decor was very cute, and there was both indoor and outdoor seating which made the restaurant a little warm. We visited with friends who each got their own entrees. I ordered the Soup Dumplings and Pork Buns and tried a bit of my husband's Han Style Peking Duck. We also got the Purple Gold Yolk Buns for dessert. The food was actually so good! The dumplings and pork buns were warm and had good flavors. The duck had a nice, crispy skin. The dessert buns were warm, with a gooey center. Only complaint is that I think the staff had forgotten about my soup dumplings and by the time I actually got them, the rest of the table had finished eating. But, our server was great and not only apologized but took the dumplings off our check. Definitely give Han Palace a try if you're in the area!

Mark N.

Yelp
Went here for lunch on a Saturday morning. Very cute restaurant with wonderful decor. The restaurant was spacious and had a lot of seating for a variety of group sizes. The service was very fast, quick to seat us and provide us menus. They gave us time to order as well, being patient as we scanned the menu. Unfortunately, the food was a hit or miss. The soup dumplings were delicious, but small. Some of it came apart as you lifted it up (spilling some of the soup). The pork buns were flavorful but small as well. The pan fried beef & vegetable dumpling was really soggy and did not taste good. The egg drop soup was good as well, but did not stand out for the size and price. The portions and the prices did not match, and sometimes the quality.

Haze K.

Yelp
First things first the lemon drops are 10/10 ! Best ive had in the city ! Second the vibes are chill but still the perfect ambience! The service is kool but if your an uptight adult , youll prob mistake them for rude but its a cultural thing. Over all the good was a 9/10. Best general cho chicken ive had in the dmv area !

Dave W.

Yelp
We were looking for someplace to eat near the Woodley Park Metro stop and this place popped out to me in my Yelp search. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We started our meal with a few things from the dim sum menu - soup dumplings and pork buns. Both were very good! We then moved on to the Mongolian Beef and Lo Mein - we enjoyed those too! My wife and daughter topped it off with the purple gold yolk bun for dessert. Definitely a good spot - I would not hesitate to go back!

Emily P.

Yelp
Great ambiance, fun decor, pretty place settings. Wait staff extremely attentive. I had the shrimp dumplings, pan fried beef dumplings, egg rolls, and sesame balls. Very fair prices. All the food was amazing. I will go again if I am in the area.

Melanie W.

Yelp
Came here after visited the zoo, the dim sum was good and the dishes are delicious except the Peking duck, too dried and the pancake was too much flour taste.

Nishika R.

Yelp
This is definitely one of my favorite dim sum places in DC. Upon entering, I noticed the beautiful decorations and pretty ambience of the place. The tableware was super tasteful and was a nice touch. The employees were super nice and our party was seated right away. Onto the food! So many options and I wanted to try them all, but I controlled myself. Of course we started with the Soup Dumplings, which are one of my all time favorites. We also ordered the Shrimp Dumpling, the Pork Dumpling, the BBQ Pork Bun, and the Chicken and Vegetable Dumpling for the dim sum portion of our order. The Soup Dumplings tasted so fresh and the burst of soup was warm and flavorful. I loved the color of the Shrimp Dumpling-- they were so yummy and fun! The Pork Dumplings stood out because of the tender pork and the perfectly boiled dough. The BBQ Pork Buns you can tell just by looking at them how fresh and homemade they are. Perfect ratio of fluffy bun to flavorful pork. The Chicken and Vegetable Dumplings were a classic and were reliably good. We also ordered the Roasted Crispy Pork, the Braised Pork Belly, and the General Tsos Chicken. The Roasted Crispy Pork was drenched in a delicious savory sauce, with the pork being fried and not as tender. The Braised Pork Belly was good, but I think I am not the biggest fan of pork belly plain, but the meat itself was melt in your mouth. The General Tsos Chicken was fried perfectly and tossed in a mouthwatering sauce. Overall, this was a delicious and filling meal. I would recommend coming in a big group so you can get one of everything on the menu! From the good food, attentive service, and reasonable prices, I do really love this place and highly recommend it for dim sum and more.

Yelp
What a great find! I was in the mood for Chinese food and after looking at the reviews wanted to try HP-WP. My husband said it was the best Chinese food he'd ever had, and I drag him to a lot of restaurants. We split the orange chicken, garlic Chinese broccoli, and Mongolian beef. The orange chicken was perfectly cooked with a sweet and somewhat spicy sauce. The broccoli was steamed and had cloves of garlic mixed in. The Mongolian beef had cooked onions that still held a crunch. Both of us loved every bite. It was well cooked and not at all greasy, which is why my husband generally doesn't love Chinese food. The inside of the restaurant has two artificial trees you can dine beneath with lanterns among the branches. If you get the chance, I would absolutely recommend HP-WP. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
I've stopped in here before to get take out of some dum sum which was pretty good and I kept saying I was going to go back because I've heard great things. Recently I've seen all over TikTok the viral 4 drinks for $18.00. Not bad! I had the Mai Thai and my friend had mixture of the lemon drop and Mai Thai. Lemon drops were a 3/5 and Mai Thai 5/5. They weren't too strong or too sweet just right amount of everything! The service was meh due to I believe the restaurant being understaffed and not having a system for the 4 drinks for $18.00. The staff kept getting the drink amounts mixed up because it wasn't the same lady coming to take your orders. Which was crazy! I suggested that they took notes on the note pads and gave each lady their own section or a certain amount of tables to handle. We got our food pretty fast and again the food was amazing! When I did ask for chopsticks one of the ladies said she was busy and I told her no come back after she had given me my food. My friend had to ask for a straw several times before someone finally gave her one. They should have some music playing inside. I think they should start taking reservations even though it is a two hour limit but honestly we were there for a while. I am definitely going back and hopefully they have a better system. After speaking with some of the staff they were nice and you could tell they were overwhelmed.

Yelp
To sum it up: I'm surprised Han Palace is rated so well as there was nothing we tried that we'd reorder. - Soup Dumpling ($11.95): 6 pcs; literally no soup and a thick dumpling wrapper - Shrimp Dumpling ($5.50): 3 pcs; tasted bland/like dish water - Pork Dumpling Fresh Crab Roe ($5.50): 3pcs; I admittedly never like shao mai and this was no exception - Shrimp & Chive Dumpling ($5.50): 3 pcs; dumpling skin was too mushy, inside wasn't memorable - Roasted Pork Bun ($6.95): 3pcs; one of the better items but not enough filling for the bun - Scallion Pancake ($4.95): Crunchy and hard all the way through rather than flaky - Purple Gold Yolk Bun ($6.95): This was okay but again not enough filling for the bun The interior was nice, bathrooms were very clean, and staff were friendly... but not interested in trying the rest of the menu after trying the dim sum.

Yelp
Came here for the first time with a friend and it was so lovely! We tried a few things to get a nice variety: soup dumplings, spring rolls, shrimp dumplings, pork buns, and crab dumplings. Everything was delicious but I loved the pork buns and soup dumplings the most. Recommend coming with multiple people to get a variety of items to sample together. The decor inside was so fun. They have indoor "trees" which made it a fun atmosphere and the plates and dishes themselves were so pretty! Service was prompt and everyone was very nice and attentive.

Yelp
The food at Han Palace is great and it's definitely a nice upscale Chinese restaurant vibe. They have dim sum and larger plates along with all day HH. I'm not sure if they were short staffed but I went around 6:30 pm on a Tuesday and the service was pretty bad. It took a while to get anyone's attention but with the good HH deal and food choices I would be willing to try again for hopes of better service.

Yelp
Everything I've had here has been amazing! I've sat in the restaurant and done take out - both incredible. Portion sizes are really good too. I'd recommend for both brunch and dinner!

Yelp
My Chinese dad was pretty pleased with the fancy lobster and Chilean sea bass dishes, which he wanted to treat my in-laws to over Thanksgiving weekend. Han Palace was one of the few places that had the dishes he was looking for. We also got sesame chicken since my in-laws aren't that adventurous. Good availability of more and less common, more and less traditional dishes, to accommodate both the Chinese immigrants and Midwestern Americans in your life. The servers spoke Mandarin which made my dad feel more comfortable.

Yelp
I came to Han Palace on Wednesday afternoon with my family after a long morning at the zoo. It is about a 10 minute walk from the zoo. Parking is a nightmare so super happy this was within walking distance of the zoo. We did not have reservations and were seated immediately. On the outside you can't tell, but as soon as you enter it is surprisingly spacious inside. We were seated at a round table and were provided a highchair for my son. We ordered multiple dishes and shared as a table: - Shrimp & Chive Dumpling - This comes with 3 pieces. It came out steaming hot, this was my favorite dish that we ordered. - Golden Roasted Chicken - The chicken was cooked to perfection, the meat wasn't dry. The meat was very juicy and flavorful and the skin was crisp and crunchy not overdone and burnt. - Pork Dumpling Fresh Crab Roe - The green color was unique, but the Shrimp & Chive Dumpling were still my favorite. - Shrimp Dumpling - These were good too, but still doesn't beat my favorite dish. - Pork Ribs with Garlic - It was drenched in sauce, so if you like that versus crispy, crunchy like the Golden Roasted Chicken then you will like this. - Snow Pea Leaves - Added some greens to the meal, made fresh like all of the other dishes and well cooked. Overall, the staff were attentive and the food came out quickly. The food was steaming hot and tasted like it was literally right off of the stove. I came here with low expectations as most spots nearby zoos, museums, etc tend to be chain restaurants or tourist traps. Han Palace was fantastic and if I am in the area I would definitely come back :)

Yelp
My friends and I often go to Mark's duck house for Peking duck and Dimsum, but it's a pretty long drive from where we live. So we looked for a similar place in DC. We found this place had great reviews from yelpers. We went there around noon. Not a long wait. Just about 10 mins. Ambiance was awesome! One of the best Chinese restaurants with great ambiance. After we were seated, we found out that this is not a traditional dim sum place. They don't have severe bringing carts of dimsum constantly. They have a huge menu with variety of Chinese food. We ordered a couple of chicken and shrimp dumplings, Peking duck, lamb sizzler and our favorite scallion pancakes. Everything was very delicious. Especially the Peking duck and the lamb dish. I wish they could do our first wrap of Peking duck just like the way they do it at Mark's Duck house. But it wasn't a big deal as we have been eating this for a while and we know exactly how to make a Peking duck wrap. Lamb was so good. Rack of lamb was very tender and juicy. Highly recommend it. We would absolutely go back to this place. We also found parking on the streets. I think we got lucky. I would recommend taking the metro or bikes if you can. Service was great as well!

Yelp
Just had a mai tai...it was tasty and pretty strong. Lol. The service was nice. Didn't order food because it was a quick meeting, but will definitely come back to try the food. The atmosphere was beautiful. (See gorgeous pics)

Yelp
I have always enjoyed dining at the Han Palace located in Virginia. I looked forward to trying the restaurant in Woodley Park. The service and ambiance were wonderful. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The dining room was beautifully decorated as if you were sitting outside with trees. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The dim sum was small, dry, and overcooked. I would not recommend the pork dumplings with fresh crab roe and bean curd rolls with oyster sauce. For noodles, the dry beef chow fun was salty. For dessert, the purple gold yolk buns were steamed and cooked correctly. One visit is probably enough after this experience. The chefs here should take some cooking lessons from the Virginia restaurant.

Yelp
Im pretty this location doesn't make its dimsum from scratch. I ordered the steamed soup dumplings and it tastes exactly what I would purchase at an Asian supermarket. The pork shumai tasted so manufactured, inauthentic and flavorless. Sad because the Han Palace in Virginia is delicious

Yelp
We went to Han Palace to try out their ayce dimsum and it did not disappoint. The wait was a bit long because of how popular the restaurant is, but once we were seated, the service was top notch and the food was delicious! We left full and satisfied. I enjoyed all the different varieties. This is a must try for dim sum lovers!

Yelp
I'm struggling to dole out 5 stars because I'm a Mamma Chang lover and I'm not sure Han Palace is as good as Mamma Chang, but it's really good! Heck, Han Palace is good enough for 4.75 stars...and on Yelp it's either 4 or 5 stars, so problem solved, round up to 5! Great food, great service and a clean and inviting space to take a dump-ling or two - yum! Lol, my daughter will be mortified to read my review, but oh well! Moving on... What did I like? Hmm...everything? Dumplings, noodles, service, ambiance...let's GO! Can't wait to return. And BTW, loved sitting under the indoor tree, that was cool. 4.75 stars, rounded UP = 5
