Where to Eat Korean Food in New Malden | Eater London

"Located at the bottom of Apex Tower opposite the station is this self-proclaimed “Oriental spoon and bar”. Hands-down the most stunning restaurant in New Malden: Han’s interior is divided into four traditional Korean pavilions known as jeongja made from wood imported from Korea, and which resemble a galleon. Despite the high-end surroundings, prices are in keeping with neighbouring restaurants, although it offers fewer banchan, the small, enlivening dishes which are given with every Korean meal, and service charge is added to the bill. There’s a small but pretty courtyard area to eat outside, and at night the basement thrives as a karaoke and cocktail bar. Sundae soup is a sizzling broth bursting with blood sausage, tripe and pork that comes with rice and a small dish of saeu-jeot or fermented shrimp on the side to add a salty kick to proceedings." - MiMi Aye

We were in the mood for some Chinese BBQ and decided to try this place. The vegetables were quite fresh and tasty, though heavily coated in various sauces—which might be typical for this style of BBQ. Unfortunately, the meat dishes were disappointing. We ordered chicken hearts and lamb skewers, but both were overcooked and didn’t taste fresh. To make matters worse, both of us experienced stomach issues afterwards. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

The food was amazing- especially the beef fried rice and I definitely recommend the coconut chicken hot pot which was AMAZING! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants to order from.

Excellent atmosphere with traditional Chinese decor and great service from all the staff. Ordered the boiled fish fillet with chilly oil, crayfish and a side of scallion pancakes. Super fresh and fragrant food that fed the 3 of us to the brim. FANTASTIC SPOT to bring friends!

Delicious Chinese cooking but slightly spicy in certain meals. Coconut chicken soup was comfort soup during winter, it highly recommended by the owner. Sweet and sour pork a little disappointed as the meat was hard and dry. Overall was great! The lady boss was gentle enough, a free fried dessert at the end of our meal. Prices are reasonable and portions of the food were more then enough even you are a big eater.

Had a nice dinner with my friend here. I’m a big fan of the Braised Pork Belly! Other dishes we ordered were also very nice. Would love to come back and try the hot pot some other day.

Ordered Henan noodles with beef and they were great. The noodles were especially chewy and fresh with a nice light broth. Staff were friendly and attentive. The only complaint would be that the restaurant was particularly cold. Will definitely come back.

We went for dinner with friends, and it was amazing! Feel lucky to have this place in the neighborhood. Good quality food and a nice atmosphere! All workers were super friendly and kindly explained the different options (which are many). They offer a buffet option that allows you to try as many dishes as you like woth the soup option. That was great and fun :) We will repeat. Thank you!

We stumbled into this restaurant by chance as the restaurant besides refused to switch on the Aircond albeit under such hot weather 😝 Food here is AMAZING ! The roasted lamb with pancake is definitely the bomb 👍 pancake was like the tortilla where you can stuff the lamb inside 😋 The stir fried pork goes really well with rice, it could be a bit on a savory side if you just eat it alone, but the flavor is really good. We ordered the Mochi for our dessert, it definitely taste a lot better than how it looks 😁 crispy on the outside and soft inside 👍 The staff was really attentive too. This is a great dining experience for us. Keep it up 👍👍👍

Yelp
I was in London for travel and decided to eat here. 2 Chinese people before me got their tables and I continued to wait for 30 mins. Food is good but this a racist restaurant hands down lol. Pathetic. I speak Chinese also so I can understand what they were saying

Yelp
Found out about this restaurant through Instagram, I love hotpot and so does my husband and as it is so local to us we popped down for a late lunch today. We opted for half medium spicy stock and half plain as we wanted our baby girl to have some bits a too and I'm glad we did as it was hot! We had an assortment of beef, pork, lamb, fishballs, some veg and noodles. As we were having a late lunch it was quite quiet so we had a lovely relaxed meal. I did spot in the menu they have a limited time slots in busy periods. As it was just the 2 of us we only had the hotpot, but there are loads of other things on the menu. Will definitely return with a group of friends for another feast!
