Hane Sushi

Came here on a weekday for lunch and sat at the sushi bar. Hane Sushi closes at 2pm, but reopens later for dinner. It wasn't too busy when I walked in around 12:30pm, but they had a solid amount of tables about an hour later. Service did not appear to falter just because it was close to closing... it actually got even more attentive, but not in a pushy "we're about to close" way. Staff here is super nice and I can tell that the chefs are happy to chat with customers to find out what they like. I got the crunchy salmon roll ($24--the menu posted on their website says $19, but that's very outdated) and the special ceviche roll ($27). Based on past reviews and pics on Google, the ceviche roll has been available for several years now (and should probably be on the regular menu), but maybe they switch up the fish here and there? Mine had spicy tuna/avocado inside and was topped with seared yellowtail, cilantro and jalapeño. The fish was verrrrry fresh and of great quality. The location and ambiance is also nice, but nothing special. I will say though, that the entire place was super clean, even the bathrooms. I think that Hane's prices are a little higher than they should be, but I feel like that's most places in SD. The fact it cost me about $50 for two special rolls during lunch is the reason why I won't be back again anytime soon. I There are other places in the area that offer quality sushi with lunch specials, or just more reasonable pricing generally. I'd still recommend Hane Sushi to others based on the quality and good experience, but this place is better suited as a date night rather than a stop for lunch.

There were three in our party, we sat at the bar. We experienced their top notch customer service. Our drinks constantly attended to and dirty plates disappeared quickly. Their staff behind the bar were engaging and informative. But I have to say, I go to a sushi restaurant for the fish. Service is a bonus. Their fish was fresh, but the portions were small compared to their prices, which were not. Their presentations were simplistic. If you are going for the service and staff and less about the portions or presentation this is place for you. Keep in mind, the fish wasn't bad, it's just I have had much better for less.

Make reservations if you're coming. We were fortunate, and there was an open space at the bar 🍸. Menus were a bit difficult to read and poorly written. I recommend that they revamp their menus for more inviting experience. Wall.menu was a bit confusing, and I expected a different meal. However, I ate what I was served. The actual rolls were tasty and well decorated Drinks, the bartender, and the bar itself were great. Chefs were entertaining, but not a great a show to write home about. Ambiance was a bit bland, boring, stuffy, surgical. I recommend to try a more lively location. Parking was difficult, but again fortunate to find a place quickly. Hostess was inviting and the exterior was mundane. Over, a 3.0 to 3.4 would be my score. The bar area, as i mentioned, was the best part of the location.

Every bite was excellent. Great service, very cold beer, fresh fish and seafood prepared by skilled hands in a non assuming casual but upscale atmosphere.

Hane Sushi is delicious. We went here last night for dinner and had AMAZING service and food. The sushi came out quickly and while we waited we had some tasty smooth unfiltered sake and appetizers. The best sushi 🍣 roll of the night was easily the Ceviche Roll which I highly recommend you try. You can also order the stuffed tomato! I can't wait to come back here with my wife and eat here again since we had a fantastic time.

Impromptu stop in for some sushi and I was very impressed! Clean and fresh sushi with quality ingredients. Nice light lunch for two, we had shrimp tempura, spicy tuna roll, California roll (with real crab not imitation) and caterpillar roll. All equally good. Their spicy mayo is also very nice with a mild, clean flavor (not processed or mass produced stuff)

This place is excellent. The sushi is so fresh and the services is always top notch. I’d eat here over Nobu any day!!

Walked in last minute after a show across the street, Service was quick and the food was delicious I noticed the rolls here are fairly large although I ordered omakase sashimi, nigiri & temaki (hand roll).
