Yelp
TL:DR - Great service, outdoor seating and dog friendly, good food.
There aren't many places in K-town that do KBBQ and are dog friendly, so when we discovered Hanu it was a blessing. Located in what looks like an office building complex, on the ground floor and in the back, Hanu Korean BBQ looks small at first, until you walk in and realize that they have a huge patio area. Personally I always thought that KBBQ should be open air, all that smoke and stuffiness inside of restaurants never really jived with me, and now with COVID even more so. Hanu does away with this, with at least 20 tables outdoors, each with their own grill.
We ordered the medium size combo platter for 3 people and found ourselves full by the end of the meal. This comes with bugolgi, pork belly, galbi, pork chop, and veggies. The combo also comes with kimchi soup, bulgogi soup, and a huge assortment of banchan. Overall, the food was tasty, but not the most delicious I've ever had. Some of the pork dishes didn't have that much flavor, and really needed the help of the sesame oil and salt to carry them. The banchan were excellent though and I found myself eating through the jun, the kimchi, the salad, and the cheese corn. At the end of the meal they also do a fried rice with the leftover grease on the grill and it was delicious AF.
The service was also really good. A robot initially brings out all the meats, and then a waiter will come by to cook them for you. We had our chihuahua with us and the waiter couldn't stop doting on her. He brought water and even fed her a little bit of meat. LOL.
Overall, Hanu was a great KBBQ experience and we'll probably return. Just the outdoor seating and dog friendly environment is enough to bring us back, but the food is also good.
