Times Square Chain Restaurants, Ranked - New York - The Infatuation

"Come For: An extremely sweet cocktail in a collectible glass, and rock memorabilia. Compared to some of the other spots in Times Square, the Hard Rock Cafe has a pretty serious selling point. If you’re a music history nerd, there’s some cool memorabilia: Paul McCartney’s bass, one of Bob Dylan’s leather jackets, and a shrine to CBGB, which is ironic, because this is one of the more corporate feeling restaurants in the area (complete with Top 40 music). You’ll walk in through a gift shop, and order off a drink menu where you can get anything in a collectible glass for just a few dollars more. The burgers and nachos are not impressive, but their commitment to merchandising is." - bryan kim, willa moore, will hartman, ciera velarde, molly fitzpatrick

Amazing service and the food was delicious! huge serving and my burger was packed with flavor. Had the opportunity to tour all of their event space and was surprised to see such beautiful rooms - especially their themed balcony overlooking the gorgeous San Antonio Riverwalk. LOVE the restaurant and will continue to recommend!

Worst experience ever!! Waiting over an hour for a beer is crazy 😧. We have been here for over an hour now. No food, half our party got drinks. Troy, the manager, appears not to be concerned. Our waitress, Gabby, was completely overwhelmed with the bar and several tables. Not to mention, see is pregnant! Troy never got her the help she needed even after I brought it to his attention. She did her best to accommodate all her tables but it was too much! I will never recommend this place to anyone. I can't rate the food because I'm still waiting on my kid's chicken tenders and fries 🤬 Update: Got the food after an hour 1:20. And it was terrible, to say the least. This was after a few bites. Another manager by the name of Earnest thought it would be colorful to tell me how much he loved Timmy Chan's chicken wiings in Houston. If you know you know

If you're looking for a restaurant with an amazing atmosphere and a prime location, Hard Rock Cafe on the San Antonio River Walk is the perfect spot. The three-story layout, with patios and balconies overlooking the river, creates a lively yet relaxing vibe. Whether you're sitting inside surrounded by legendary rock memorabilia or outside enjoying the breeze and scenic views, the experience is top-notch. Service here is friendly and efficient, adding to the overall experience. Whether you're a tourist exploring the River Walk or a local looking for a great meal with a view, Hard Rock Cafe delivers on food, atmosphere, and energy. Definitely worth a visit!

Google
We came to Hatd Rock Cafe in San Antonio with the best attitude of eating and enjoying a super nice space with the family and the reality is that it was HORRIBLE. They gave us a horrible table LITERALLY NEXT TO THE GARBAGE, and the waiter forgot to order food which never arrived. I ordered a margarita and it didn't arrive either, so I approached the waiter 4 times to remind him that my margarita hadn't arrived. Honestly, I don't recommend it. There are many better places to come than this one.

Google
Had an amazing experience at Hard Rock Cafe! The atmosphere was fantastic—great music, energetic vibe, and a cool rock-inspired decor that made the visit even more special. The highlight of my visit was definitely the Messi Burger—juicy, flavorful, and absolutely worth trying. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure everything was perfect. Whether you’re here for the food, the music, or just the overall vibe, Hard Rock Cafe never disappoints. Highly recommend for a great dining experience!

Google
Had a great time at Hard Rock Cafe! We started with the One Night in Bangkok Spicy Shrimp™ — crispy, perfectly cooked shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy sauce with just the right kick. The scallions added a nice pop of flavor, and the spicy coleslaw underneath gave it a refreshing crunch. Totally worth it! We also shared the Chicken Tenders, which were golden, juicy, and came with plenty of dipping sauce — classic comfort food done right. The vibe was energetic, the service was on point, and the food hit the spot. Definitely a fun and flavorful experience!

Google
Wanted to try this place while we were in a trip to San Antonio and it’s was ok I was expecting a little bit more but it wasn’t bad either. The service was good and the atmosphere was good too. The prices are reasonable as well.

Google
Great spot on the River Walk! Tasty food, lively atmosphere, and awesome views. The staff was friendly, and the music vibe made it a fun stop. Perfect for a casual meal while exploring San Antonio.

Yelp
There History to the people that play guitar and the service so nice they tell us if we need a bathroom then go ahead

Yelp
What can I say? Clean, Organized, and Service always on point! A lot of restaurants on the Riverwalk get tapped as being tourist traps but I can honestly say that Hard Rock Cafe really takes care of its guests and makes even locals feel very welcome and warm! If you're a burger / cheeseburger lover, I swear they have the tastiest and juiciest burgers in town all year long. Whether you're looking for a gourmet or good ole' fashion cheeseburger, they got you covered. They also have some of the best views on the Riverwalk! Out of towners and guests, be advised, this is where you want to come!

Yelp
We sat on the patio which is on the river walk. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They truly work as a team there. The vibe is casual, and the decor has a nice rock theme. I recommend strolling through the restaurant to look at the wall art. I had the Mule drink, and it was just ok. The shrimp appetizer was delicious! I chose the Grilled Salmon for my entree - the salmon and mashed potatoes were good but the broccoli lacked flavor. Overall a good choice for a restaurant on the river walk.

Yelp
Ordered take-out while out of town and was thinkin' it may be like chili's or similar but was SO surprisingly wrong!! We ordered late night burgers and a chicken sandwich with a side of fries and mac-n-cheese and it was DELICIOUS!! The burgers were so juicy and thick! Perfect topping to beef ratio and buttery bun! Nice when the bun holds up to the juicy burger without splitting!! The chicken sandwich was also juicy and not dry considering it was thinner chicken but 2 pieces!! I would have loved more arugula as the heat wilts it so much so more would have been better as it adds a great peppery taste. The seasoned fries were perfectly thick and served hot considering this was a take-out order! The mac-n-cheese was bomb! Had a great kick to it and the curly thicker noodle held the cheese sauce perfect!! Y'all knocked it out of the park and served up the best late night grub! This was not JUST burgers and fries. Great job y'all!! Thank you.

Yelp
Food was mediocre. My husband had 4 fries frozen together on his plate with the rest of his fries. Seemed a bit pricy for the quality. Our waitress was ok. Where we were sitting downstairs was hot. (Perhaps because we were close to the patio door ‍) Definitely will not be racing back any time soon.

Yelp
The customer service was above & beyond today. My short walk turned into a long walk looking for my car. My two doggos needed water when Chris & Danielle jumped to action bringing water and even a fan to cool them down. I'm so impressed with the sweetness, thoughtfulness they encompass. The manager Joseph was right there as well to assist if anything else was needed. I appreciate you all.

Yelp
I haven't been to this location in years, and I am glad to say they have definitely improved in service, and food. The waitress we had was amazing, and the food was great. Sharable sizes as well. If you are downtown stop in and check it out. There is a lot of neat art work, and memorable as well to look it. I would suggest if going for dinner on a Friday, and Saturday night try to get there before 5, otherwise there is usually about an hour wait.
google avatar

Shelby H.

Yelp
The food was amazing as always. Never can go wrong with Hard Tock Cafe. The Cesar salad was surprisingly filling and the steak was cooked to the perfect temperature and seasoned just fine. All the sides were just as good as the entree so that's saying something. The service was excellent and friendly, felt very comfortable and quick. The ambiance was nice as the lighting was great and we were in the corner so it wasn't too loud.

Yelp
This place is well known but if you don't know about it this is the best place to learn about Hard Rock Cafe. The drinks OMGOOODNESS!!!!! Amazing, but don't stop there try the food is sooooooooo good too. Then to top it off the customer service is spectacular and makes you feel like you are the rock star of your own outing there.

Yelp
I liked the giant pretzel ... the main event not so much , tasted freezer burnt . Our server was really sweet . The inside of this hard rock was like all the other hard rocks . They have cups and tshirts and all the stuff ...

Butch O.

Yelp
Good service. Good was terrible. Absolutely the worst $18 cheeseburger you'll ever eat. It would have been awful for $6. Waiter was great.

Yelp
I will preface this with that I did not come here to eat. I came here to browse, purchase at the store and use the facilities. It was close to the hotel and Riverwalk, but not really close enough. After a long day of work, and a little rest and relaxation, read that as I imbibed a bit, We decided to go out for a walk. It was Fiesta, and there were people everywhere. The drinks were starting to make their way through me and I had to find a place to remedy that situation. I know, I was literally over the bridge from the hotel, but I didn't have the strength to go back. I have become a collector of magnates. Anywhere I go, I usually pick up a magnet that has something to do with the area I am visiting. My fridge at home is starting to look like it is being held together by magnets. How do these two things go hand and hand? Downstairs. The shop in Hard Rock is located downstairs, off of the Riverwalk, as well as a set of their facilities. Two for one type of deal. The store had exactly what I was looking for. Found myself a magnet and browsed a bit more. When I was ready, I went to the counter and paid. The staff in the store, even though they appeared to be bored, were really helpful and polite. They were chatty and gave some tips on what to do around the area. As for the facilities, it was your basic run of the mill bathroom. Clean being a loose term here, let's say they were maintained during the festivities outside.

Yelp
I usually don't review chains (hence the lack of photos) but I wanted to leave a review for our waiter Matt Robinson. He was super friendly and chatty and even though the restaurant was super busy and he was clearly swamped he did an excellent job at serving us. Myself and my family are from a rural place in Canada and he knew a bit about it which made the experience more personable. The food and ambiance wasn't anything to write home about (typical for a Hard Rock Cafe) but Matt was stellar.

Beckey C.

Yelp
The food taste good, there was a worker and he is my least favorite worker actually, because he told me not to control the TVs on my phone, I don't know his name, but he told me not to turn off the TVs and I yelled out "PARTY POOPER" as I pointed to him as he walked away, I don't know his name, but luckily, I got a picture of him and then I laughed after I took a picture, I don't know what his name or age is, but I wanna know so I can tell this to lots of people

Yelp
Compared to the wait time at most the places downtown. Hard rock is just awesome! Food is consistently great as well as the drinks and prompt & kind waitstaff.

Yelp
Upon my arrival, i decided to sit at the bar & every employee I interacted with seemed to be super energetic, so that was a great start to my evening. I loved the music they were playing, keeping an energetic spirit throughout the restaurant. I ordered the Messi burger with an IPA and what a combination that was! It's a double chicken patty with a side of fries and it was so much food. I ended up making three meals out of the one sandwich/fries. Just note that two people could probably share this and end result being satiated. Overall great experience and delicious food. I would've loved to sit outside on the bottom tier but it was way too hot. I'll definitely try that next time when I return.
google avatar

Deric L.

Yelp
It's a huge NO for me. We took our All State students out for dinner here during the TMEA convention. We were hoping for a nice evening out, but this place was very much boring. The hamburgers others ordered appeared to be ok but my chicken strips were akin to a children's frozen dinner. And what restaurant do you kno not have plain tea as a beverage? Apparently hard rock. Smh! I had to get a raspberry tea. I won't be back
google avatar

Jenny M.

Yelp
The place is near the riverwalk and do have different entry ways. The place have good lighting and music on, you may probably request to sit down to a different floor/level if you want to just have a more less noise. The service was smooth and perfect! Mia our server was so patient. We ordered the Messi Chicken which was huge for my size, it comes with the sides of your choice. While for the dessert, ordered the cobbler which was also a big serving. The price fits well with the portion you are getting.
google avatar

Kelly O.

Yelp
Sat for at least 10 minutes. No service. Not busy. With all the good restaurants on the river walk, don't waste your time on this one. We got up and walked out. Went to Dicks and the service was aggressively great!
google avatar

Yelp
Hard Rock was a very cool, very relaxed restaurant. I was lucky enough go there on my birthday and have the ribs and mac&cheese there food was good just good, for my appetite. The girl that was serving use was really sweet and willing to help with the menu, ordered myself a old fashion with my ribs good combo to wash it down. After the meal she brought me a ice cream to top it all off. I had a good experience the musicians were very cool to see. Looking for the Ozzy Osborne poster I wanted so bad. :,) great service again.

Victor A.

Yelp
Service was horrible made a reservation and still had to wait another hour . No updates on the tables .
google avatar

Kristi M.

Yelp
I had really high expectations, considering the first time we came here and got the Messi chicken sandwich it was really delicious, the service was awesome and we had a great time. This time onthe other hand it was really busy because it was the holiday river parade and we waited over an hour and a half for a table, and when we finally got a table it took a long while before we could even order drinks. We ordered the Messi chicken sandwich specials and we're very disappointed. There was way too much sauce on the sandwiches and it made them very messy and very soggy. The bread was way over buttered making a huge greasy mess. We asked for a bottle of ketchup and never got it. I had to get up and get it from the bar to get drink refills or anything it took a really long time. Our waitress was great, but it was obvious that she was running all over the place. It was getting so ridiculous when the manager came by and asked us about our meals at the time I didn't realize it was a manager and I was like you know it just really isn't good. He graciously comped our food, but for the time spent it was honestly not worth a visit. We may come back during a less busy time, but this time was not their best performance.

Angela F.

Yelp
I wanted a late night dessert and saw apple cobbler on the menu, so I decided to indulge. I don't remember the mention of marscapone cheese in the cobbler, yet I never imagined I'd have to worry about cheese in my cobbler. The flavors would have been great without the marscapone cheese. To me cheese and apple with pastrie is a Danish, not cobbler. Was very disappointed.

Yelp
Our first time at riverwalk San Antonio, Texas and we decided to eat at Hard Rock Cafe. We were a little concerned about if they had any allergies food menu because of my nephew allergies to food. The hostess was very kind and give us the option of in doors or outside. We obviously choose outdoors since we wanted to admire the atmosphere. The food was great and kids were happy with their meals. Ambience is relaxing. I definitely recommend this place!!

Contessa R.

Yelp
First time in San Antonio, definitely not my first time at a Hard Rock. The food was great and so was the atmosphere. I enjoyed the most I could of the dinner with my husbands family and his brother who just happened to graduate medical school last night. Our Server was very incompetent as far as typical things he should know as a server. Let's keep in mind this was not a teen, it was a grown man. First, starting with drinks my husband ordered a Woodford NEAT. The waiter kept asking, "Huh?, you want a shot?" So eventually my husband literally threw up his hands and gave up and agreed to a shot of Woodford bourbon. Tell me how that makes sense. Then I order an espresso martini. Impossible to mess up right? Wrong. He spilled all the foam off the top and when it got to my table I had beans floating in espresso vodka and foam all over the bottom of my glass falling through the table onto my white skirt because he didn't give a coaster or napkin with it. Then last but not least my husband left the table to pay the check. The waiter CARRIES my husband's card back to the table to ask everyone "you guys okay if he pays for it he gave me his card..... " and flashes my husband's Credit card in his hand. My father in law of course took the card back and paid with his own money. We wanted to treat our family and our graduate brother. We got a pretty frustrating waiter who completely killed the vibe. 326125 Chris was the server on our check, as he never introduced himself at all, and his name tag was not visible. We probably won't come back because it was overall underwhelming.
google avatar

Amber G.

Yelp
The hostess was sweet, we sat at the bar since they seemed to be running short on available tables and it was extremely loud. As if the customers and the workers who controlled the music were trying to see who could be louder. There were two bartenders who saw us sit and made eye contact with us multiple times, finally one of them came over to us and took our orders. I had one of their bahama mama drinks, it wasn't very good but looked very nice. To eat I had the grilled chicken sandwich and that made up for the drink, i suppose. I'm not sure if the menu at the bar is limited and the menu at the regular tables is not, but we didn't have many food options to choose from. Overall this was a pretty disappointing experience. We wouldn't come back a second time.
google avatar

Brandie A.

Yelp
We stopped in and grabbed two seats at the downstairs bar. It was a shockingly quiet Saturday on the Riverwalk so the people watching was slow. Matthew and Ally took fantastic care of us. They were a lot of fun and our drinks were perfect.
google avatar

Baltazar R.

Yelp
As with most Hard Rock Cafe locations, the offerings in the local menu are worth exploring. During our last visit to San Antonio, we made our mandatory stop at Hard Rock Cafe (and purchase of hat for my collection) and left without being able to decide if the beautiful scenery improved the quality of the food or not. The restaurant had only the 1st story open and luckily for us, seating outside. There are about 10 tables for 4 people outside, so reservations through Opentable are recommended. My wife ordered the Smoked Brisket Quesadillas and I forgot to try them because I wa SO BUSY with my delicious Jalapeño Popper Burger that as I write this I just recall I forgot to share! Service by Melissa was great: Very friendly yet respectful. When I brought up the fact that I had Unity points (The Hard Rock Cafe loyalty program) she happily applied them towards my check, which gave me a discount of about $50 USD. We will definitely come back when in San Antonio, just to seat outside by the River Walk and enjoy a nice Shiner Bock with a tasty burger.
google avatar

Susan W.

Yelp
Fantastic SERVICE! We dropped in without a reservation for a quick lunch and were seated immediately. Our server was very welcoming and answered any questions we had regarding the menu. Food came out quickly and we were all very satisfied with our meals. Two of us shared a burger and two others shared the salmon plate. Salads were very fresh, fries crisp, and the burger was delicious! I didn't taste the salmon, but my friends said it was amazing. I would definitely recommend this Hard Rock location that is conveniently located along the San Antonio Riverwalk. We ate indoors due to the hot weather and the noise level was nice with the rock music playing all around us. I've always loved the decor in Hard Rock Cafes.

David V.

Yelp
Ask for Savanah she was amazing!! Ribs were delicious, family was very satisfied with the amazing service and food.

Bob S.

Yelp
Not what you'd expect. The tables outside are wobbly and the chairs are broken. The portions are lack for the price. My plate was nearly empty. It's not what I'd expect from the hard rock.
google avatar

Sonya M.

Yelp
I usually try to avoid dining at chain restaurants when I'm traveling, but I made an exception since I was pressed for time. We ended up at Hard Rock because it was close, and we were able to get a table quickly prior to heading to the P!nk concert. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and fries. It also came with a side of slaw and baked beans. The sandwich was really good, but they were a bit skimpy on the bbq sauce. The slaw was okay, but I didn't care for the baked beans at all. I prefer my baked beans sweet versus tangy, so it could have just been personal preference. My sister had the chicken tenders. She enjoyed them, but I thought they were just okay. Our waitress was nice and fairly attentive as well. She was really busy, but she took the time to tell us how to get to Alamodome, which was great. The restaurant's vibe was like any Hard Rock you might visit... lively and mostly full of tourists. (In this case, it was mostly P!nk fans). The location was clean, well maintained, and comfortable.
google avatar

Mei Li H.

Yelp
Classic American food place for the music lover. Parking was pretty easy to access but was $15 with no validation just as an FYI. The waitress was so kind even though you could tell she was swamped with customers. Major props to her! I thought my food was good! I ordered the Spicy Diablo with the spicy mayo on the side. Everything was cooked well. It wasn't too spicy, but had just the right about of "kick" to it. Everything was delicious and filling, but nothing stand out. Price was around $15-16, which is pretty standard for burgers. I think you mainly go to Hard Rock for the memorabilia and vibes rather than the food. My only complaint about this place is how loud it gets. The music is blaring and so everyone has to talk louder to be heard and it just results in an almost collective roaring all around the dining area. I think it's good to experience this place once, but I probably won't be back just out of personal preference. The experience was great though and again the waitress so super kind and professional.
google avatar

Eugene C.

Yelp
I give it a solid 3. It's expensive. Your paying for location and atmosphere..not the food. The menu shows a beautiful burger. Really the burger is small and honestly pretty flavorless. It's the size of a slider. 4 bits. Gone. Kind of disappointing. Very little flavor, over powered by the bbq sauce. Service at bar pretty good. They stay on top of things. Overall you get what you get. It's the Hard Rock. You pay extra for the name on the bldg. Go with a open wallet and mediocre food expectation and you will be good to to.
google avatar

Joe K.

Yelp
Nachos had no cheese or meat when you ordered steak. I would not recommend coming here.
google avatar

Uther P.

Yelp
Great service; went in for a quick appetizer and drinks. Everything was good; thank you.
google avatar

Alma R R.

Yelp
The food here was GREAT!! The service was amazing. The ambiance was amazing as well. Our server was so nice and pleasant!! My salad was so fresh and good! Would recommend coming here.
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
Service was slow. Hardly anyone in the restaurant and took forever for waitress to get our drink order. Took 20 min for food order. Food was ok but won't be returning
google avatar

Emma C.

Yelp
The waitress was phenomenal and the food was great. We were pressed for time hence the chain restaurant but we were surprised how nice it was we sat by the river and the heaters on the patio were a nice touch. Burgers were on the spot and the wings were crispy outside and soft inside. The strawberry lemonade was WAY too sweet tho.
google avatar

Paulina G.

Yelp
0 star for this place ... it's unbelievably and unacceptable how racist is this place first able San Antonio all you all know it's a tourist place , people from everywhere visit the river walk. And when you go out you don't bring your passport with you to walk in the river walk. So we have my family from Mexico came to visit us and we ended up in this wrong place . We get a table and we start to order and as soon as we ask for drinks they ask for our ID's . Obviously they have their country ID's and they said that they need a Texas ID's. Which some of them don't have . They said that they won't be able to give us the service and we about to left this place , and ask for the elevator, my uncle is handicap and need to used it . They said it didn't work . When we saw a lady just step up from it. We ask for the manager ERNEST CAVAZOS and explain everything, he said that is their policy . Never come again to this place .
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner on a nice cool evening and enjoyed it thoroughly. It was very clean and comfortable. We did sit inside because it was a little too chilly for us outside. The look and feel is what you would expect, a Hard Rock Café, except this one had a great layout with the tables and bar. Tons of great musicians and their respective memoirs surrounding you. We shared the Chicken sandwich and Dry Rub wings. The Chicken sandwich was great, it was delicious and plenty for us to share. The dry rub wings were our favorite. They were simply the best wings I have in a long time!! Delicious!! A nice seasoned flavor combined with some crispy juicy bites. Amazing! The service was outstanding. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. All around an awesome experience. I hope we can come back someday.

Rober F.

Yelp
Our waiter was outstanding and made us aware of a special priced item which we ordered. The location on the River Walk made our dinner an excellent choice. We will definitely return every visit.

Jed L.

Yelp
Slow service. All tables empty but took 1 hour to get food, and it was only warm not great. Slow service. Over priced bar food. When our waitress did interact with us she was friendly helpful and polite. Jus took to long for drinks, food, and had to ask for napkins.
google avatar

Reed B.

Yelp
Visiting Hard Rock Cafes in destinations when we travel is a staple for us, so even though we had dinner somewhere else, we had to swing by for drinks and desert. This location is designed around its outdoor seating which makes sense since it is on the beautiful river - but also odd since the focus on memorabilia is diminished. The biggest negative for us was the seating experience - basically trying to force us to eat outside, quoting what turned out to be wildly incorrect waiting time and just generally not being welcoming. Once we got inside we had a great server, some great desserts and we enjoyed ourself. As with most recently refurbished Hard Rock locations, the memorabilia is disappointingly limited but we still had a great time!
google avatar

Troy S.

Yelp
Everything was amazing. Location right on the riverwalk with a perfect patio view of the Christmas lights.

Delaney M.

Yelp
We went to watch the AFC divisional game and sat at the bar. The bartenders were really friendly and attentive. They made sure the TV was on the right channel when we asked about the game as well. Really fun place along the river!

Victor G.

Yelp
The menu is small compared to everything else around here. The service was great but that was about it. For $13 you also get the smallest drink mix on the riverwalk. The experience was sub par. The decor wasn't hard rock, it was more like a hotel decor with rock wall decor.
google avatar

Abel A.

Yelp
Food was delicious, service was excellent and ambiance was top notch. 4 out of 5 only because of prices, but understandable being that it's on the riverwalk

Adan L.

Yelp
During my time this establishment me and my family waited a long amount of time for our food just for it to come out cold and untasteful. There should be no excuse for this kind of service. I don't suggest coming here. If you're looking for a place that has bad service and bad food this is it!!!
