THC-spiked Malört-flavored shots will soon be available in Chicago | Eater Chicago

"A themed retail venue opening April 10 will include a non‑alcoholic Butterbeer Bar and used large, floating giant jelly beans on the Chicago River near the Riverwalk as a promotional stunt. The beans evoked Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans from the Harry Potter universe—an Easter‑egg style marketing move that leaned into the books’ whimsical (and occasionally gross, e.g., the vomit flavor) repertoire to draw attention to the shop’s launch." - Ashok Selvam

Harry Potter Shop Chicago Will Bring a Massive Butterbeer Bar to the Mag Mile | Eater Chicago

"Operated by Warner Bros. Discovery Retail Experiences and slated to open April 10, this immersive retail-and-food destination aims to reinvigorate a struggling stretch of Michigan Avenue by recreating the wizarding-world experience seen in other cities. It will feature what is billed as the largest Butterbeer Bar in the U.S., presented in a Chicago speakeasy-inspired style (Butterbeer is non‑alcoholic and available hot or cold), along with Butterscotch Popcorn, a Honeydukes-inspired confectionery selling Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans and Chocolate Frogs, and an oversized interactive jellybean installation. The venue emphasizes cosplay and photo opportunities—fans are expected to arrive in Hogwarts-house colors—positioning itself as both a souvenir shop and an experiential attraction meant to drive foot traffic and tourism on the Mag Mile." - Ashok Selvam

Don’t be intimidated by the long line to get in—it moves quickly. The Goblet of Fire theme was really cool. Lots of fun souvenirs and cool clothes. The prices were decent. Highly recommend the frozen butter beer and goblet of fire cake. They offer customized wands and other cool items.

We went on a Monday evening and we got right in. The whole store has so many photo opportunities and the staff are more than willing to take your photos. The prices were cheaper than universal studios and the selection was the best I've seen. We went there for my wife who is a huge fan, me not so much, but I still had a wonderful time checking everything out. All of the staff were friendly and wonderful. We even got a opening day pin for completing a survey on our visit. We had a wand and cloak personalized and it only took 30 minutes. The butter beer cafe was adorable and offered cute snacks and drinks. You have to drink them in the cafe but when we tried to leave the security asked us to finish and were so polite. You also get to keep your butter beer cups and they have a cleaning station so you can rinse them out. I was so pleased with our visit and I can't wait to see the other locations.

This place is SO cool! There was a line out the door but it moved so quickly! This place is great for all ages and all levels of HP nerdiness. You can find your House, pick a wand, try butter beer (was not my favorite - the soda was flat), and they have all the HP candies from the books. I recommend you check this place out and bring some extra money!

Google
Absolutely must if you’re a Harry Potter fan. Brought back so much nostalgia. I had been to the store in Chelsea before it was closed, and this one was probably better. Even if you don’t buy anything, there are a lot of photo opportunities as well as a cafe that sells Harry Potter themed drinks. Merchandise are a little bit on the higher side in terms of price, but that is to be expected. My favourite section was the wand section. So many cool and immaculately carved wands.

During my weekend in Chicago, I checked out the new Harry Potter shop—and it’s definitely a must-visit for any fan. They had tons of cool merch, including wands, character-specific items, and house-themed gear. You can even try Butterbeer, which was a fun touch! There were also plenty of stuffed animals and other gifts to choose from. What could’ve made the experience better were more interactive elements. The shop is very themed and well-decorated, but once you’re in, it’s mostly shopping. Adding some interactive experiences would’ve made it feel more magical—and made the long wait more worth it. I had to scan a QR code to get on the waitlist, and it took about two hours just to get my ticket. Once I had that, I got in fairly quickly. Overall, it’s a great stop for fans, but go in knowing it’s more of a themed retail experience than an attraction.

Google
Luckily we didn’t have to wait to get in the store. The decor is amazing and the pricing on items is close to what things sell for at the parks. The butter beer was also the same as the theme parks. That Chicago-exclusive want was sharp!

Google
Wow! What an amazing store. There was always a line even on a Sunday. There is no shortage of fun things to see especially if you are a Harry Potter fan! There is a Cafe with butterbeer and other coffee options with some limited food items. The best part is the pricing is fair and you can have your name stitched on several clothing items! A must stop in Chicago!

Google
It’s best to visit the Harry Potter store on a weekday because the weekend line stretches down the entire block. I came on a Monday to buy souvenirs for my family — the store is magical! There are so many toys, wands, themed clothing, and accessories. You can also get butterbeer and take the cup with you, which makes a great souvenir as well. I didn’t like the dessert — it was too sweet and didn’t seem very fresh. I recommend this store for souvenirs, but it’s better to eat elsewhere. In my case, they didn’t have any coffee available either.

Yelp
Love this shop. I have been twice and every time they have additional items to purchase. I don't really need anything since so have been collecting items since college. However if you need Hogwarts gear can grab here. On this last occasion, the sorting hat was present and I was put into Slytherin even though I am a self proclaimed Gryffindor. I have suspected that I was a snake. lol In the heart of the store is the largest Butterbeer Bar in the U.S. I grabbed Dobby, the loveable House Elf, first seen in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This soft toy version of Dobby the House Elf is highly detailed with posable arms and legs. Love my Dobby. He travelled all around DT with us. Check this place out if you need capes, wands, jewelry, candy, ornaments and or any Harry Potter accessories you desire. I bet you find at least one item you desire.

Yelp
My Ravenclaw friend and I (also a Ravenclaw) had this shop on her Chicago wishlist, and we found it as we waltzed down the Magnificent Mile. Location: E Huron St and N Michigan Ave - you can't miss the massive sign exterior of the store. Getting there: Can't speak to parking, but we walked and took the metro Atmosphere: Picture being a sardine in a very excited, wand-waving sea. It's chaotic, noisy, and you might as well befriend an owl to keep track of where your family/friends are. That said, the store's layout was creative and the decor was spot-on. There's even a cafe serving baked goods and butterbeer, though I skipped the taste test. Merch: I get the hype, but as someone who has ventured to The Wizarding World at Universal Studios numerous times, the merchandise felt déjà vu. Great for superfans; for me, more of a casual stroll down memory lane. Price/Service: Can't comment, as I didn't buy anything or interact with staff. Would I return? Probably not. It was fun to browse once, but if you're a diehard fan, this is your place to geek out.

Yelp
This was a cool store and cafe on my most recent visit to Chicago! It is VERY busy and offers a nice shopping experience for souvenirs for Harry Potter fans. The cafe is off to the side and offers many HP-related desserts and pastries. We opted for the butterbeer-flavored soft serve on our visit. The line moved pretty quickly and our servers were prompt and helpful. After placing our order, we stood to the side and the soft serve was soon ready! It was definitely on the sweet side, and tasted like butterscotch. It was a sizable amount and we split it between two people, still feeling pretty full! I saw many other folks trying out the butterbeer which had the visual appearance of coke, though I'm not sure what it tasted like! The seating was pretty spacious overall. The food options seemed fairly well-priced considering the markup for HP-related products. Definitely a worthwhile stop for any HP fans on your next visit to Chicago's Magnificent Mile!

Yelp
The highlight of my weekend trip to Chicago has got to be trying the frozen butter beer. The foam just gets me every single time I had to go back twice to get it. The atmosphere here is so welcoming and friendly! There is such a large selection for Harry Potter things so if you're looking for something Harry Potter this is the place to be! It's pricey but I feel like if you never experience it, it's worth it. It's split up by shopping and cafe, you cannot bring food or drinks into the shopping area. I'll have to be back when I come to Chicago again.

Yelp
This destination stop store wasn't even on my radar. I didn't even know it was in Chicago as I passed through. But when I seen it. I knew immediately I had to stop. And boy am I glad I did. Inside the store it makes you think you are in Harry Potters world. Everything is interactive and fun. The selection of goods to buy is plentiful and fully stocked. The staff is very friendly. The cashiers are awesome and ready to make you smile and even laugh. I didn't know I needed to be here. But I know I'll be back.
google avatar

Yelp
The people are friendly there and quick to help. the checkout process moves fast. There is a nice selection of items for everyone and be sure to leave room to enjoy the cafe. All the prices are typical for a Harry Potter shop, this is the smallest of any shop, but has some neat features.

Yelp
Very cool spot!! Also much incredible Harry Potter items and an adorable cafe! Lots of items to buy for any Harry Potter fan and the decor and details of the store are incredible.

Yelp
I was ecstatic when I found out there was an HP store in Chicago! And it lived up to the hype! From the moment you walk in, you hear the HP music and you're transported back to Hogwarts. There is a little cafe with a variety of drinks and desserts. We chose the draft butterbeer and a buttered cupcake. Both were so so good! The butterbeer is a tad bit less sweet than at Universal which I found perfect. The actual retail store is decorated perfectly and has so many different things to buy! Everything was what you'd expect price wise for HP and I don't see how you could get out of there without buying at least one thing. I told my husband this will be a regular stop for us when we are in town going forward!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice, fun store for Harry Potter lovers. They have some fun decor like flying books hanging from the ceiling. The whole place is decorated to the amount where my husband said he felt like he was in Disney world. The store itself is not that big, but there's a good amount of things to look at. They have a whole section of wands from each character. And a butter beer cafe with tables and seats. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed their butterbeer. The cream foam on top of it was excellent. It wasn't just whipped cream on top, but a special sweet cream. It came with a fun mug that you can take home as a souvenir also. One tip: make sure you're standing in the right line if you're trying to get butterbeer because there was a long line for the bathroom (which we assumed was for butter beer), and one of the workers kept having to ask people to make sure they were in the right line.

Yelp
(G)o - definitely go! It's hot right now! (W)ow - It's more detailed than the Universal section devoted to Harry Potter. Tons of merch - books, letters, trunks, robes, dolls - and interactive displays - the jelly bean wheel where they select a bertie bott's flavor for you was my personal favorite, shortly followed by the wand display. (A)mbiance - What a nostalgic paradise. Beware the weekend lines. (M)enu - Sadly this is where they fall short. The iconic happy birthday harry cake was sixteen dollars for an admittedly movie accurate design that fell short of taste. Unless they're implying Hagrid can't make a box cake. In which case, apologies! If Hagrid could work a box menu, then this cake did not do him justice. Very dry bread and the fruit jelly was interspersed in little pockets that weren't evenly spread. The frosting was hard, crusty, and overly sweet. The snitch cookie was obviously screen printed, but cute. On a positive note, the butterbeer was fizzy and creamy. Delicious and you get to take the cup home. The novelty and the cuteness are what you're paying for, but really, that's the point of these shops.

Yelp
Really great place. It isn't super crowded anymore so it is enjoyable to stroll through. There is so much merchandise there for any fan. I bought a butter beer. Also tried their butter beer ice cream and muffin. Both were really tasty and a nice treat. Nice that there is a dining area too to eat at. Overall a nice pop up shop in Chicago. Service was great. The value is good as the food was tasty.

Yelp
Either you like Harry Potter or you don't. I do. The brand has so much to offer from a collection of movies, a series of books, to wearable merchandise, creative food and beverage items to unique collectibles. The encounter in this shop will transport you to the movies. They have everything you can imagine. There is even a special room for sale items. After shopping and exploring, do stop in the cafe for a tasty treat. I opted for the butter beer muffin which is drizzled with butterscotch before serving. Washed it down with a butter beer on draft. You can also get it frozen. Plan to return on a warmer day to try the butter beer swirled soft serve.

Yelp
My sister-in-law wanted to visit the Harry Potter Shop in Chicago, and it turned out to be the perfect opportunity to explore it myself, and wow, what a unique store! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is magical. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming; they take the time to explain the products and truly encourage you to explore the thousands of items they have in store. You'll find everything you can imagine for each Hogwarts house -- from small items like pins to clothing, bags, backpacks, and so much more. My two favorite sections: The Wand Section. Absolutely stunning! They carry around 100 different wands, one for each character, plus special editions and house-themed wands. The selection is incredible, and the prices are very reasonable. The Candy Section. Such a fun experience! They offer everything from frog chocolates to those infamous "gross" jelly beans. Whether you're a collector or just curious, it's worth picking up a few treats to try. One last highlight... the Butterbeer bar! You can enjoy your own Butterbeer right inside the store, the perfect way to top off your visit. If you're a Harry Potter fan (or even if you're just shopping with someone who is), this shop is an absolute must-see in Chicago!
google avatar

Hesper W.

Yelp
If you're a Harry Potter fan, I recommend coming here! The shop has a plethora of souvenirs and even a cafe to drink butterbeer and snack on some sweets. There is even a survey you can take to get a free gift from the staff! Overall, it was a nice experience :D
google avatar

Yelp
They did a great job with the decor of the store. Walking in had a picture that was animated. There was so many things to see that you could get lost in there. The selection of items was spot on. They even had an area to get themed desserts and butter beer. I didn't realize this was located in Chicago until I drove past and saw how the outside was designed. It definitely draws you in. Great tourist spot.

Yelp
What a fun little store on Michigan Ave! Delightfully planned out, there's something for every Harry Potter fan. There's also a butterbeer bar. TBH, I didn't think it was as good as the ones at Universal Studios, but still fun nonetheless. I will say I was surprised that 4 cookies and 4 butter beers was $100! But they do have a cup cleaner and you can take the commemorative cups home. I really liked the concept of the Golden Snitch cookie, but it seemed like imprinted paper on a frosted cookie.

Yelp
Mag Mile finally gets a store to be excited about! The Harry Potter store has only been open a few weeks, but the staff here has it down to a well oiled machine. There's staff outside monitoring the line and reminding people to use the virtual queue. You don't have to wait in line, there is a QR code you can use to get your party in line. When your ticket turns green, your party has 2 hours to enter the store. Despite all the chaos, the store was kept very clean and the employees inside were very friendly and helpful. There's plenty of merchandise and set pieces to enjoy here--alongside some Chicago exclusive items. The butterbeer is exactly how I remember it from Universal Studios Florida. There's a tankard wash to clean your souvenir mug so you don't have to carry a sticky, empty mug around too. There's some baked treats, including a vegan option (the Dark Mark cookie). One thing that's a big miss is that the bathrooms are not decorated with the theme. Frankly, I would lose my mind (with joy) if there was even an audio track of Moaning Myrtle or something but alas, the bathrooms are regular bathrooms.

Yelp
I'm no Harry Potter fan, but this place is so cool! There's SO much to shop for in this pretty small store, and expect it to be incredibly busy! There's a spot on the other side of the store that serves butter beer of all sorts. Don't worry, there's plenty of seating for to devour these desserts. Ice cream, draft, frozen, other desserts. First of all, this butter beer stuff is amazing! It's so tasty, just like butterscotch. The ice cream was one of the highlights of my week long trip, that says a lot. You also get to keep the cup that the drink comes in which is cool, and they have a little station to wash it off so it isn't all sticky and dirty. Even if you aren't big into Harry, I encourage you to go try the things they serve. All workers are very nice as well and patient

Yelp
Very neat shop and a must visit for any die-hard Harry Potter fan or if you're on the hunt for some exclusive merchandise/gifts. There's a line to get in at all times of the day if you go on a weekend. The check out line is also insanely long. I do wish the store was bigger but it probably felt small because it was crowded inside. I thought the store had a great selection of products. I went to mainly to hit up the butterbeer bar. It's $15 but comes in a plastic souvenir mug. I'm not sure if they have the option of not getting the butterbeer in the souvenir mug, but I would certainly prefer that in the future when I visit so I don't end up with a ton of mugs. In terms of taste, I really loved the root beer/butterscotch notes complemented by the creamy foam top. I got the frozen one, which was recommended by the cashier, but I'll try the room temperature one next time since the frozen one gave me quite the brain freeze.

Yelp
As an always HP fan and even with all the controversy over J.K. Rowling with all her Transphobic and Homophobic post which as myself part of the LGBTQ community definitely don't support and despite I had to see the store by myself as I've seen so many videos on Tiktok and OMG that place is AMAZING and love the division by sections as well . Literally could say it was magic ;) . Sooooo much good merch and a wonderful service too . Loved the atmosphere and decors .

Yelp
Newly opened HP Chicago store is huge & has a variety of different mementos & strictly Chicago souvenirs! Still a long line during the day & on weekends, but no line when it's about an hour till closing. Frozen Butterbeer is the one to try & don't forget to stir it! Prices are competitive as if you got something from a theme park after your ride! Exceptional service from everyone working there!
google avatar

Vaishnavi W.

Yelp
It's a dream come true for a Harry Potter fan! The store is newly opened in Chicago and it's amazing! There were many merchandise and gift options for everyone. The weekdays seem lesser busy compared to weekends, when there are huge wait lines. The Butter Beer on tap is a must try! It's a 10/10. :) A great experience, highly recommend!

Yelp
Just note is very very very crowded (we went at 7pm on a Friday) Easy to find, just look for the white stag. The store has everything a Harry Potter store has (compared to universal studios in California and compared to the Manhattan one) They serve frozen butter beer and butter beer ice cream (very pricey $17 for one )

Yelp
Finally stopped into the Harry Potter store while my mom was in town visiting - I wanted to go with her. Thankfully, the crowds have died down, but there is still pretty much always a line, but the line does move pretty quickly. When you step in to the store literally feels like one of the souvenir shops when you exit one of the rides at the Wizarding world of Harry Potter/Diagon ally. Pretty much all of the same merchandise is there - as expected. The store is quite large, but with the amount of people in the store, it does get a little tight to move around. I do like that there are little shops within the store for wands, art, and things like that etc. I do wish the café sitting area was a little bit larger, thankfully for the most part everyone is having their treats, etc., and leaving promptly thereafter to give us their seating. I love that they have two separate bar like jet glass cleaning stations, so that you can clean your butterbeer, souvenir mug, and take it with you if you'd like to. Their café prices, from what I remember are pretty close to exactly what they are in the theme parks - so essentially it's like bringing mini parts: shopping and dining, from the theme park to Chicago, which is super nice for people who can't get to the theme parks for whatever reason. The store is really immersive so if you've never been to the theme park, it's really a lovely visit. I am still thoroughly in love with the butterbeer ice cream I will definitely go out of my way to get more of that, on the regular.

Yelp
Even being transgender myself I love Harry Potter and this was a good experience the the every flavor jelly beans were so good and actually tasted like what they said. Even the flavors that aren't a normal flavor

Yelp
As a hardcore Harry Potter fan, this was magical. We reminisced in the movie as we walked around the store. There were so many cool things and options available! The price was decent for the uniqueness of the items! Definitely cheaper than universal! The staff was friendly! The butter beer delicious (especially the draft one) and the cake was rich and chocolately!

Yelp
As a Harry Potter fan, this was an awesome experience! I remember hearing about the opening but I happened to walk by on my way to the Starbucks Roastery (~400ft down the street). But before I get into it -- they're still figuring out the queueing situation: It's pretty confusing and unclear, but bottom line: SCAN THE QR CODE. Queue details if you're interested: *I got into the physical line and there were QR codes but no text or details on why or what, so I naturally didn't scan it because sketch. *Then, I learned that it was to join the virtual queue. So I stood in line for 30 minutes without joining the virtual queue so wasted a ton of time. So, just scan and leave! FYI - the virtual queue does NOT give you a time estimate either. But they call numbers in order, not by party size. Also, the virtual queue gives you 1 hour window to come back so you have wiggle room! The horribly confusing queueing system aside -- it was great experience: *There's Chicago exclusive merch - apparently you cant purchase this online either! So, I got myself some of that. There were also bottles of butterbeer with exclusive chicago labels as well as a Chicago Harry Potter Shop print. *There's a cafe with great themed-treats -- some of them were a little lame like sugar cookies BUT things like Harry's Birthday cake from hagrid were so delightful! I ended up just ordering the Frozen Butterbeer in the tankard (souvenir cup - I didn't see an option to not get it) - $13.50. I will say that I've tried butterbeer in Harry Potter World and Land and I've never liked it ha. I am a huge fan of Pumpkin Ale though so hopefully closer to the Fall season, they'll bring that here! *Customization!! You can get your own custom hogwarts acceptance letter as well as a customized journal, quidditch jersey, etc. I didn't get anything this time but good to know! *They also sell Horcruxes!!!! and wands.

Yelp
I'm huge Harry Potter nerd but I felt like this store was a little bit of a let down. The first time we tried to go, the wait time was about 2 hours so we ended up skipping it. This time, luckily there wasn't a wait. It honestly just felt like a store to me. There wasn't no magic or charm to the store. All the workers are friendly and helpful. We wanted to try the butterbeer so went to the cafe right next door. The butterbeer comes in a souvenir cup and there's also a wash station where you can clean out your cup after drinking from it which I thought was cool. The dessert we got was a chocolate fondant cake and it was not good. Do not recommend it, there was just no flavor. Overall, wasn't too impressed. I would definitely not wait in line to experience it
google avatar

Hope L.

Yelp
This shop opened a month ago and I was so excited to visit since I was in the area. The wait was about 20-30 minutes and I was excited to try the drinks and the dessert. I got the Butterbeer muffin and my sister got the cauldron cake and the sorting hat cookie. We also got a Butterbeer to split. The sorting hat cookie wasn't great as the chocolate on top tasted like rubber and had a super weird texture. The Butterbeer muffin tasted more like a cupcake than a muffin and had an artificial taste which I wasn't a fan of. However, the Butterbeer was delicious as it wasn't too sweet and we all enjoyed it. The store was nice but it was a bit chaotic as there were so many people and it was a bit hard to walk around. Overall I enjoyed my experience here but I wouldn't get the dessert again.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday couple weeks after it opened. If you don't sign up in the morning through QR code for reservation, you have to wait till end of the day for walk in. I came back around 7ish and waited in walk-in line for about 30 mins. Not sure what the hype was about for this place, it seemed like an average store like the one in universal studio, super crowded, and overpriced. Tried the butter beer which was not as good as original one from universal and their ice cream also. You can take the mug as a souvenir which was nice!
google avatar

Taylor S.

Yelp
I am a big Harry Potter fan but this store makes you realize there are way bigger Harry Potter fans out there than me. They have a variety of clothes from all of the houses and candies, wands, collectables from the books. If you stumbled into this store you would be blown away. If you wait in the crazy long line, you might be underwhelmed a bit. We wanted to go but then saw the line and decided against it. The line was down the block and winding back (granted the store is pretty new so maybe that dies down). We ended up going to dinner in the area and after dinner we noticed that the store was still open and the line was much shorter so we went then. It is worth checking out, but I would say go at an off time or wait a while for the newness to settle and the lines to die down.

Maggie L.

Yelp
What a fun store on Michigan Ave! If you are a HP fan, it's a must to visit and check out this shop. They have a small cafe there too and a lot of butter beers!
google avatar

Yelp
Only been open for 3 days, it was a madhouse! But would you expect anything less! That being said, the staff were as friendly as they come and seem to enjoy helping answer the same questions over and over again! Would highly recommend any true Harry Potter fan to stop here while you are in Chicago. Just be prepared for crowds and long lines. Product line is great! They even have a butter beer bar (which was longer than the checkout line!! Prices were typical which I felt was reasonable. I purchased a sweater for $60, stuffed animal with the store logo for $20 and a decal for less than $10.

Yelp
First Harry plotter in NYC and now Chicago. This store is so organized and clean. Yes, they sell butter beer so grab it. Lots of selections. Very fun if you are a Harry Potter enthusiast.

Yelp
New, pretty, whimsical, and great for Harry potter lovers. They have the largest butterbeer bar in the US and was a bit of a line so be patient. Well located right in the center of Magnificent mile and beautiful themed decor outside, it is easy too find and just wander into to see what the fuss is about.

Yelp
Well, what can I say. I took my almost 7yo to this store. He's been reading the books over the past couple of years and was so looking forward to this visit that he could hardly contain himself. First and foremost, the whole store is just bustling with decorations and active displays that make this a really cool experience. If it exists in the World of Wizarding, it's probably in there somewhere. There's a whole section that is basically Olivander's wand shop. Most every character in the book has their wand available for purchase. They are surprisingly high quality, which they should be for $39.99. My kiddo opted for the Potter wand. Still super stoked about his purchase. Shows it to everyone. There's a small food & drink bar (pictured) where you can, if you can tolerate the cost, buy a 'Butterbeer' in a souvenir cup for about $14 bucks. It's small, tastes like butterscotch, and the cup made it (sort of) worth it. Staff is efficient and friendly, and while the checkout line is long, it's really rather efficient. Surprising number of kid-less adult wizarding fans in there. It was plenty busy on a Thursday.

Yelp
DRAFT Butterbeer was bomb, the frozen butterbeer was like a mushy mush popsicle. I'll have to actually shop here one day !

Yelp
This has been on our list of things to do as a family since we learned it was coming to Chicago. It was exactly what we'd hoped for. We went on a Friday and it was a hot May Friday so we knew we'd be in a big crowd. It wasn't cramped but it was crowded. Staff were fantastic, the store felt like you were transported, it was great. In a moment we needed a nostalgic escape, this delivered. A bit steep, but we knew it was coming.

Yelp
Good place to go if you're an HP fan but selection is very small. Butterbeer made it totally worth it though. Great if you're already in the city, but don't make a special trip just for this.

Yelp
Tried both the frozen and the draft Butterbeer -- obsessed with both. The frozen one is sweet, foamy, and super refreshing, and the draft has that smooth, creamy finish that feels straight out of Hogsmeade. The vibe in the store is honestly magical -- super well done, immersive, and just fun to walk through. Staff were all so friendly and genuinely excited to be there, which made the experience even better. The merch is amazing -- lots of exclusive, high-quality items that feel special. Already planning to go back just to try the Butterbeer soft serve. If you're in Chicago and even remotely a fan, go. ‍

Yelp
Staff was all over the store, but there wasn't much interaction with them until checking out. Butterbeer was meh and very expensive. This place is great for huge Harry Potter fans, but very expensive. They had sold out of the reusable shopping bags that had 'Chicago' on them, but had plenty of 'New York' ones. Who wants one of those when you're in Chicago?!? They had also sold out of the specially priced butterbeer packages and you could only buy individual bottles. I was looking for themed Christmas ornaments but only saw one in the whole store (of the Hogwarts Express).

Yelp
Such a magical and beautifully decorated store! It is a must see for any Harry Potter fan. Even for non-fans, the sheer attention to detail along the tops of the shelves, walls, and ceiling can keep anyone engaged and entertained. There is a whole nook dedicated to different wands from each character. Yes, it did get a little ridiculous as even the events were given wands...like a goblet of fire wand or whatnot, still, it was interesting to see the different designs for beloved characters and hated characters. One could easily spend a half hour just perusing through the store. Definitely a fun experience.

Yelp
As a hard Harry Potter fan.. I LOVED this shop! The service was amazing, they have so many options to choose from and even cover all of the houses. I feel when I go to some pop up shops not every house is included equally, not the problem here. There's even butterbeer! The prices were not bad for the merch that was sold. There's even exclusive merch! They had hoodies, shirts, wands, robes (you can get your name embroidered on), game day (quidditch) jerseys, and iron on patches!

Yelp
Service was friendly and helpful. The outdoor line went by pretty quick. We found most of the stuff I was looking for. Pretty stocked in all sizes . However I didn't see any griffyndor jersey's. Children's clothing is limited. Overall the set up is nice.

Yelp
Stopped into this store on a whim and was so excited to find butterbeer, which I had a few years ago. The frozen version is super tasty and really refreshing!

Yelp
This is the third location in the world and the second location in the U.S. I had a Macchiatto. The staff and service are fantastic.

Yelp
This was a pretty cool spot. Lots of options, choices, decor, books, all kinds of cool stuff. This place is pretty unique and original. Got a few great items for gifts to bring back to the family and friends. All the while rekindling and reawaking my inner child and seeing some things I wish I could've had when I was younger. They also had some good deals and prices. Great place to check out and visit if you're in the area.
