"That’s when wife-and-husband duo Evelyn and Ike Ikrath took over and restored her family’s hotel, Haus Hirt, kicking off a local revival rampage. They went on to resurrect other properties, including design-forward Alpenlofts and Hotel Miramonte." - Michelle Tchea

From the moment you walk in here you’re made to feel like part of the family. We were SO sad to leave, there is something so special about this place that you can only understand by visiting. Make sure you get a massage with Ahmed, it’s the best massage I’ve ever had! Totally gorgeous views from all parts of the hotel, welcome drinks on arrival, comfy beds, great fluffy towels and robes, free yoga, really good cocktails and wine selection at a very reasonable price — €6 glass of wine, €10 cocktails, €3-5 draught beer. Yes, it is a family and kids-friendly hotel so you can expect lots of children and babies running around at all times but this is very clearly advertised and it is very sweet. There is a kids club in the basement and a splash hour in the pool so adults are not disturbed throughout the day in the spa. The salads at lunch were a huge highlight! I wish I could have it everyday for lunch at home. Some reviews mention that it’s leftovers from the night before, but I see no issue in that plus it always feels fresh. There is a hot option too, I.e. beef the night before turned into a delicious beef stew. The rooms are cleaned every day. Guided walks, train shuttle and lots of information about the area - everything you could possible need is here. Big thank you to Evelyn and team, especially Ben at the bar and Adonis in the restaurant 💘💫.

We were so excited about this hotel - and so deeply disappointed. The decor of the main spaces is indeed adorable, albeit fairly worn. However, our room was anything but cozy. Cobwebs on the ceiling, leaves on the floor, and the tiniest bathroom with an unmarked half step/ledge on which I nearly sprained an ankle. The worst experience was the food!! Beyond being fairly bland - I have a food allergy and informed the waiter as soon as we were seated. He assured me everything was safe to eat - and it was NOT!! I was sick all night! We left early the next morning, shortening our trip- because it was clearly unsafe for me to eat. When my husband explained the issue at check out, their team replied “why was she sick? No one else was sick”. CLEARLY BECAUSE ALLERGIES ARE ONLY DANGEROUS FOR THE PERSON THEY AFFECT!! Just so extraordinarily disappointing. Also a kid friendly doesn’t mean a few kids. It means not being able to use any public sitting area because children will be running into you and screaming at all times. Just a heads up.

This is a truly stunning hotel! Beautiful decor, amazing views, delicious food and wonderful service. This was our second visit to Haus Hirt and it didn't disappoint, there is so much to do in and around the hotel for any age group, I would particularly recommend for extended family groups as there are things on offer from babies to grandparents.

Set out to be an excellent vacation with our young toddler, our family got food poisoning on our second day, eating at the restaurant (we exclusively ate at the hotel). The staff on call was unfriendly and not helpful in getting even some boiled potatoes delivered to the room. No apologies until the very end at the check-out where the manager apologised (she was not informed about the incident). We didn’t pay the full prize as a compensation, but left the house hirt in still terrible physical shape and heavily disappointed after a week of what meant to be a relaxing break in the mountains from our stressful and busy life.

Truly one of a kind. Coming home in the snow. This hotel will not dissapoint you. Evelyn, the owner fully understands the highest level of hospitality. If you think it won’t be possible, she will still make it possible. When this place fits you like a glove, you will come back over and over again. Thnx again for this beautiful week!

I'm loathe to let the cat out of the bag about this place as it's one of my favourite places to stay. The owner is warm and friendly, always around, and can't do enough for you, the rooms are big and comfortable, rather plain but very 'ski hotel' in design, so that even in the summer the simplicity makes your holiday very easy. Beds are very comfortable and there's often a separate area for kids to sleep. It's VERY geared towards young children, and the kids activity programme is a godsend for tired parents. if you're a couple looking to relax I would avoid and go to their sister hotel Miramont just down the road, which is adults only. On our most recent trip we noticed that the pool area was a bit tired out, and there are quite a few things in the hotel that need a refresh. But the food is really excellent, the dining room has one of the best views in the world, and we often make friends with other guests. I did notice that kids seemed to pervade every area of the hotel which we found a bit annoying, whereas before the dining room in the evening was more off limits to little ones. Maybe it's because our eldest is now ten, so she found it all a bit babyish. But if you have young kids I would recommend this place.

As soon as you walk through the door, you feel like home. The atmosphere is so relaxing and you feel immediately at ease. Our daughter runs directly to the kids club and returns after 30 minutes with a new friend. We love that everything is taking care off from food to hikes to child care.

The hotel is lovely, the location superb and the concept great. There were simply too many families last week and the service started to fray at the edges. Small things like running out of spoons, cucumbers that seemed to have been cut hours ago and were dry, kids activities that were oversubscribed. The owners were aware and tried to make the best of a tricky situation. We will return, for sure, but also hope that it will be slightly less busy so we all can make the most of it.
