The 17 Best Restaurants In Hayes Valley - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"SF’s not known for hot dogs (our precious street vendors aside), but Hayz Dog is changing that. They’re serving creative and filling—albeit slightly pricey—spins on classic hot dogs that are so extravagant, they look like they’ve been dreamt up by a five-year-old. But somehow, none of them feel overly indulgent. Case in point: The Elote that’s drenched in creamy corn and crema that dribbles down the sides, and The Junkyard that’s overflowing with barbecue sauce, bacon bites, cheddar, and homemade pickles. Just don’t order these to go: they’re best enjoyed on the parklet while they’re still piping hot." - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

Hayz Dog - Review - Hayes Valley - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"SF isn’t really known for hot dogs (our precious street vendors aside), but Hayz Dog in Hayes Valley is trying to change that. They’re serving creative and filling—albeit slightly pricey—spins on classic hot dogs that can’t be found anywhere else in the city. Although they do offer their take on a Chicago-style hot dog, they don’t stick to any other kinds of convention when it comes to the other seven dogs on the menu. Case in point: The Elote that’s drenched in creamy corn and crema that dribbles down the sides, and The Junkyard that’s overflowing with barbecue sauce, bacon bites, cheddar, and homemade pickles. They’re extravagant and all look like they’ve all been dreamt up by a five-year-old, but somehow none of them feel overly indulgent. And while some of the options sound like a gimmick—like the bánh mì dog that takes the Vietnamese classic and replaces pâté for lime aioli and cold cuts for a heavy frankfurter—they still manage to stick the landing. photo credit: Erin Ng photo credit: Erin Ng photo credit: Erin Ng photo credit: Erin Ng Pause Unmute A dog costs about $10-$14, so realistically pounding more than three isn’t really in the cards, but in a world where a street dog over in the Mission can go for up to $10 and isn’t as topping-packed, that’s not too bad. And given the fact that these are behemoths, there’s no way we would ever want three—one satisfies, and two will fill you up for the day. So it’s not an outrageous price, all things considered. Even though hot dogs are a fast food staple, don’t order these ones to go: they’re best enjoyed on the parklet while they’re still piping hot—and before they have a chance to get a soggy bun. So settle in with a cold beer, glass of wine, or even a milkshake to round out an evening. The only way this place could be even better is if they were open past 11:30pm on the weekends—you know, for the perfect post-party pick-me-up. photo credit: Erin Ng photo credit: Erin Ng @infatuation_sf Hayz Dog is serving hot dogs that can’t be found anywhere else in the city. #InfatuationSF #EEEEEATS #hotdog #sfrestaurants #sffood #CapCut ♬ original sound - Infatuation SF Keep scrolling for the food rundown Food Rundown The Elote We’ll admit, we were skeptical about accepting a hot dog that resembled our beloved cups of elote, but this version quells our cravings without leaving us stuffed (but it is a bit of a mess). photo credit: Erin Ng The Banh Mi This dog is about as literal of a translation as it gets. Think about a bánh mì, and now think about a bánh mì with a hot dog for meat and a bun for a baguette. It works. photo credit: Erin Ng The Flunky An attempt at a Chicago-style dog, and truly a great showing. Now if only they could offer it on a poppy seed bun. photo credit: Erin Ng The Junkyard Layered with laundry-sized piles of homemade pickles and coleslaw, plus tangy BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, and bacon bits, this dog is decadence served on a platter. It’s the best dog on the menu by far and should be on your table. photo credit: Erin Ng The Heddy The only dedicated vegetarian offering (you can sub in the vegetarian wiener on any of the hot dogs though). Unfortunately, the vegetarian dog itself is tough, chewy, and flavorless, so we’d recommend taking a plant-based friend elsewhere. photo credit: Erin Ng Milkshake An Ovaltine milkshake, plain and simple. It’s thick without being too decadent, it’s creamy without overloading your senses, and the light chocolate flavor makes this a great evening treat." - Ricky Rodriguez

The Hit List: New San Francisco Restaurants To Try Right Now - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"We’re not a city known for hot dogs (our precious street vendors aside), but Hayz Dog is trying to change that. They’re putting out creative new spins on classic dogs, and they always leave us wanting one, or three, more. While you can find a Chicago-esque hot dog, this small Hayes Valley spot and takeout window doesn’t stick to any kind of convention when it comes to the seven other hot dogs on the menu. The Hayz, which is covered in kimchi relish, kewpie, and spicy ketchup (yes, that’s a thing) is funky in all the right ways, and our new favorite, The Bahn Mi, is a crunchy revelation full of crispy daikon and carrot that rivals the city's best bánh mì. The only way this place could be even better is if they were open past 11pm (11:30pm on Saturday)—you know, for the perfect post-party pick-me-up." - Julia Chen 1, Ricky Rodriguez

Google
Best dog yet!!! Perfect service with a smile and quick, but doesn't hurt the quality of the food. Usually very busy and hard to get into. Food is great and delicious and with every penny. Very reason and delicious. I got the Bobo and my spouse got the Tramp. We also both got the chili. I ordered Ovaltine milkshake and my spouse got a plain villa milkshake. They use Crystal brand ice cream and it is perfect for shakes. TV outside with plenty of seating. Come enjoy a hidden gem on Hayes Street. You will fall in love.

Google
The tub steaks are fantastic! I am currently working my way through the menu the "Chicago dog" is my favorite all of the fresh ingredients like the mustard seeds, fresh relish. The bonmi is just as good. I also enjoyed the chips on the side with their homemade dipping sauce.

Google
Hot dog heaven in the Hayes District! If you think the best hot dogs are stuck somewhere in Chicago or New York, I’m here to tell you they’ve got some competition — right here in San Francisco’s Hayes District. Hayz Dog is a tiny spot with a big personality, and I’d put their dogs up against any west of the Mississippi. My personal go-to? The Bobo, dressed to impress with the usual crowd of condiments and my personal upgrades: perfect, meaty bacon (not thin bargain bin special or looking like it spent time in a microwave) and a punch of garlic. It’s a dog that shows up in style, strutting out on a bed of chips with a side of their special sauce. And yes — the $12–$15 price tag is a bargain for something this satisfying, especially when it’s ready in under five minutes. The menu is refreshingly simple. You won’t need a degree in decision-making — just enough options to keep every type of hot dog fan happy - a tip of the hat to their internationally inspired flavors. And if you like to customize, the condiment upgrades are the real deal. They don’t skimp, they don’t miss, and they turn a good dog into a great one. Inside, seating is cozy — we’re talking four people max — but that’s part of its charm. Outdoors, you’ve got more room via curbside seating, plus a TV usually playing soccer or a movie, so you can enjoy your meal with a little side entertainment. The staff keeps the vibe friendly and relaxed, greeting you with a warm “What can I get you, my friend?” that makes you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time. Drinks? They’ve got a short but solid lineup: a couple of beers, some wine, and sodas to wash it all down. Simple. Straightforward. Satisfying. If you’re looking for a place where the food is fast, the prices are fair, and the hot dogs are unforgettable, Hayz Dog is your spot. Don’t just take my word for it — go grab a Bobo, add bacon and garlic, and taste why this little stand is serving up the real West Coast wiener wonder!

Google
This place is great for a quick bite, plus it's close by and better than Costco dogs, a bit $$ more, but hey still better.

Google
Ordered via Uber Eats and the order was ready right when I arrived. It’s a small place with a few bar seats. I ordered the Hayz Dog and as you can see from the pic, it was very nicely presented. And that was after picking it up and walking ~10 minutes to my place to sit down and enjoy my meal. It has a good dog to bun to ingredients ratio. The hot dog was very flavorful and it pairs well with the chips. I also ordered the Corny Companion which is like a deconstructed elote. It’s nice to eat it that way as it’s less messy and it’s pretty good but nothing beats an elote on the cob. If I were to go back, I would eat everything then and there to maintain its freshness.

Google
i think this is the first vegan hot dog i’ve ever had. was pleasantly surprised they had vegan mayo as well. also super friendly staff!

Google
The hot dogs were good, quite the interesting combinations, and the ingredients were fun. We had the Flunky, a twisty take on the standard Chicago dog with mustard and relish, and the Tramp, with bacon and serrano peppers. Both very good. It's a little expensive, but that's everywhere nowadays with inflation. Service was great and seating was on the street outside, very pleasant.

Google
Great joint for quality dogs. Toppings are well selected so it won't feel like you're eating salty toppings on top of a salty dog. It tastes far from that. There seems to be much thought and care that goes into these delicious dogs. They also got a yummy ovaltine milkshake.

Yelp
one of the best hot dog places in the city! the food was prepared fast and the staff was friendly. the decorations are really cute inside the store too. however, there was not too much seating inside and there were a lot of bugs outside.

Yelp
The Tramp is a must try! Hands down one of the best hot dogs I've ever had, full of flavor, perfectly balanced, and that crunch from the bacon takes it over the top. The portion is just right and it even comes with a side of kettle chips and a delicious lime aioli. If you're looking for a quick bite with awesome service, phenomenal prices, and seriously great food. This is the spot to check out! can't wait to try their other hotdog.

Yelp
Such a unique hot dog place in the Hayes Valley. Super convenient to come here and grab a quick bite to go. I thought the toppings for The Elote [4.5/5] were delicious! I think the quality of the bread and the hot dog could be improved, as the bread is the very plain and not buttery, and the hot dog tastes pretty cheap and simple. The concept is great. Service is great, quick, and friendly. Probably wouldn't particularly come back here because there are much juicier and tender hot dogs, but the concept is cool. :)

Yelp
Went to Hayz Dog for the September special menu item, the Pinoy Pup. It was excellent! Loved the Filipino cuisine inspired toppings: spicy banana ketchup, pickled green papaya and carrots and crispy garlic. (It comes with cilantro too, but I asked to leave that out) I hope they bring this Pinoy hot dog back in the future! We ordered at the counter and sat down in their outdoor patio. Food came out quickly, and the hot dogs came with a side of chips. I look forward to coming back to try their regular menu items!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of hotdogs and this hotdog was good one. We tried two and both were very delicious, sausage was juicy and I think it was Frankfurt sausage. Hot dogs were coming with chips. There are spots to see outside and a few bar chairs inside. Service was very fast.

Yelp
Stopped by Hayz Dog early in the day for a quick bite and tried The Dub, which looked closest to a classic chili dog. Overall, it was solid but didn't really stand out (7/10). The Fritos on top were a great touch, adding crunch and texture. What threw me off a bit was the chili--most chili dogs don't include beans, and this one leaned more into a Mexican-style twist with refried beans. I appreciated the creativity, but the beans and chili overall could've used more flavor. The hot dog itself was standard--not the worst wiener, not the best. I liked the inclusion of chips on the side, though they tasted like slightly upgraded Ruffles--good, but not crave-worthy. Overall, a solid eat that I'd definitely order again. What excites me most is the creative variety on the menu, so I'll be back to try more flavors. It's a fun stop if you want a single dog as a snack, but at up to $14 per dog, two for nearly $30 doesn't feel worth it as a full meal.

Yelp
We were heading to Toronado and as Berliner is no longer there next door decided to head here pre IPA - it was a good choice! Has several different types of hot dog including a really good vegetarian version for my daughter and I that was really quite exceptional and I love the crispy shallot / cilantro combo. My husband got the Fluky - a Chicago style dog loaded with sport peppers! Loved sitting on the outside patio in the middle of Hayes Valley enjoying our hot dogs! Great spot!

Yelp
Our favorite hot dog place in the city. They do the most unique combinations, my favorite is the hayz. They stacked the dogs with things like elote, or kimchi, or jalapeños, or you can even make your own custom dog. My gf loved their smores and I can't lie they are pretty bomb. I usually burn my marshmallows but they did it perfectly Service was so friendly and loved how the walls were covered with drawings from customers expressing their creativity! I'm definitely coming back for more!
google avatar

Neikan M.

Yelp
Fun hot dog place in SF. Split 4 different styles, and my favorite was definitely the elote. You get the choice of chips or salad as a side, which is nice as well. Nothing mind blowing but a solid weiner. Cute little spot for outdoor seating as well.
google avatar

Jaimie L.

Yelp
I love this place. It's my go to hot dog joint, and I usually get it delivered as an extra special guilty treat. It always comes nicely hot and perfectly ready. I love the elote hot dog - the corn is such a surprisingly sweet and delightful companion to the beefy hot dog. And the buns are great quality in and of themselves. They have me a free chili randomly and omg I am going to get that again but maybe with extra Fritos next time - that chili knocked it out of the park. The chips are pretty average but good enough to scoop up the left over elote and scrape up the last drops of chili. I usually order the Mexican coke because hey that's an American classic combination. And I can't ever forget their Nutella smores which are filling, deliciously sweet and indulgent!
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
We'd been randomly talking about hotdogs...are they a sandwich? No. Is the hotdog the whole thing wiener and bun or just the wiener? Still debating...then I saw this place on yelp and thought- let's go! I got the Tramp and the bacon was delicious. I enjoyed the special sauce and asked for my peppers on the side bc the server said they were spicy and I have a low threshold for heat. My friend got The Dub she enjoyed it and said it was yum. It was a bit of a puzzle how to approach eating it with all the delicious toppings. The space is small inside but there's a nice shady outdoor seating space and the windows open to the inside so we could grab napkins and ask for condiments. I'd definitely come here again.

Yelp
I've been craving a hot dog for like 4 days now and when I was finally on my way to Costco, I decided to make a stop here instead. I'm so glad because this is now my favorite hot dog spot!? Sorry, costco. Recommendations: THE HAYZ (has kimchi) THE BOBO (classic dog toppings) I will be back to try more. Also shout out to Ezekiel, he was really helpful in my most indecisive moments. He said his favorite are THE ELOTE. I will be trying this next. Thank you guys for having a great hot dog spot!!

Yelp
Great, friendly service in the heart of the Hayes Valley corridor. Had my Hayz Dog in the parklet and enjoyed the nice weather. Flavors were on point and there was no skimping on the ingredients. A+
google avatar

Ash J.

Yelp
Great new spot in Hayes Valley! I got the Heddy which is their vegetarian option, but any dog can be made vegan too which is cool! I really liked the paprika aoili which had a nice creamy flavor profile and a bit of sweetness too. The prices are on the higher side especially considering one dog isn't a full meal, but overall I still liked it a lot. Its a small spot, with only a few bar seats indoor but there is a small patio with a few tables as well. The decor inside the shop is cohesive and fun (see photo of all the hot dog drawings on the wall). Good place to come try if you wanna switch up from the usual sandwiches and burgers!
google avatar

Jacqueline Z.

Yelp
I was super fortunate that my work catered Hayz Dog! I decided to try the Elote hot dog. The Elote was delicious - good toppings with corn and fried shallots. The toppings kept falling off, so eating with a fork is a must. I did feel like because the toppings kept falling off, that the taste was dominated by the hot dog, but I would get it again. Luckily, this was free but I do think that paying $12+ for a hot dog is a bit pricey.
google avatar

Ethan W.

Yelp
Hayz dog came and catered at my work! It was my first time ever having their hot dogs and I absolutely loved it. They're so unique and flavorful and I really enjoyed all the toppings that are included. As for the hot dogs themselves, they're super flavorful, and have a great snap to them! I do wish they used stronger buns as my hot dog fell apart fairly quickly after my 2nd bite but nonetheless everything was still very delicious!
google avatar

Naima C.

Yelp
As someone who does not eat pork I was so happy to see a hot dog place that offered all beef hotdogs. The hot dog was filled was toppings and the side of chips was a nice touch. Staff was super sweet when I went and super welcoming as well. The price for one hot dog is kinda pricey but I would say for the area it is in and the amount of toppings/food you receive it is fair. So glad to have a spot like this in Hayes valley :)
google avatar

Katie K.

Yelp
This placd caught our eye because they have a Chicago style hot dog on their menu. So if you've never tried the real one you could try it in SF :') The one I got was called The Tramp. It had bacon, fried onion, hot sauce and cilantro. The hot sauce was surprisingly very spicy and burned in my mouth. Otherwise everything else was pretty standard. I wish they put regular onions as well or smth bc it was a bit heavy with fried everything. I feel like they could also lose the chips on the side. The chips were super oily and we didn't really want to eat that after a greasy hot dog.
google avatar

Yelp
I really need to stop expecting to find an authentic Chicago-style hot dog in San Francisco. Umai Savory Dogs already let me down (review: https://yelp.to/Lsj3qHxq8t). The simple truth is that the DNA just isn't here no matter how hard people try, and definitely they try hard at this familiar-looking Hayes Street operation. The late, lamented Schulzie's Bread Pudding held court in the same space several years back. Of course I ordered the $12.50 Fluky, their self-proclaimed Chicago-style dog with sweet relish, tomatoes, pickles, homemade pickled mustard seeds, mustard, celery salt, and sport peppers (photo: https://yelp.to/KHMwYwrgFp). It was decent though overly accessorized, and where were the diced onions and split Kosher pickle? It was more a California version of a Chicago-style dog which seemed off. FOOD - 3 stars...misses the mark on being a Chicago-style dog...when in Chicago, try Wrigleysville Dogs (review: https://yelp.to/6x9fQZLnVG) AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...ate it in the parklet SERVICE - 3 stars...not much interaction TOTAL - 3 stars...gee, I wanted a hot dog real bad RELATED - Exploring Hayes Valley? Here's my collection of places I've patronized and visited: https://bit.ly/2vdx1yO

Yelp
Hayz Dog was new a few years ago...not sure...I kept walking by wondering about Hayz Dog..I decided to go in and spend my lucky money allowance on snacks...well the chili is a "side" and maybe not a snack..they offer nutella smores and it's a snack and dessert...the smore was delectable and a fun treat...interesting technique...I would get more smores($4) and the list of hot dogs is strange and mind boggling..I may try one sometime...I am reluctant and hesistant...it's so strange...that's how SF is..Hayes Valley is fun for all...this isn't a question about cooking and chefs..it's an urban planning or community development question... It made me think...these posts(about 98)...Chicago? Chicago refers to the former president circa 2008 now...the other president was from Delaware...it's a Washington DC hot dog...presidential hot dog...I ate hot dogs...thankfully some people enjoy responsible humor...the chef may have actually come from Boston MA...hot dogs are a snack...baseball and concessions...tourism... Nevada hot dogs.. review #3049

Yelp
This is a cool little joint on Hayes St just a couple blocks off of Van Ness/ Theatre District. The owner and and I had a little convo in Spanish about public use of restroom. My wife ran Starbucks for 20 years; I'm so understanding of what a can of worms that is. We resolved it. No fuss, no muss. He brought the dogs and Ovaltine shake out to the outdoor parklet, and moved the napkins to within easy reach. Such a cool guy. We chatted about this and that. My wife had the Elote, I had the Flukey(?). Both were great and super photogenic (lol). The latter not being a guiding principle for us, but hey....when it's pretty, it's pretty. We ate it all. And the crispy not-a-broken chips on the side. Pleasant surprise. And gets my highest rating. Go!! Keep him in biz and thriving! They deserve it. Buen provecho.

Yelp
Been here multiple times and tried a few dogs off their menu. Always get great service and delicious quality hot dogs. Even their Vegan Dog is great! Conveniently located in a great area to grab a bite after a show or simply walking around enjoying the neighborhood. They stay open a bit later on weekends for SF but still wish they would stay open even later. They also have a few great beer and wine options and outdoor seating on their parklet with a large tv typically playing sports. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
this is probably the first hotdog I've had in sf and it was actually pretty solid--the bun was so soft and the sausage was very juicy and flavorful. we ordered the hayz ($12.50) which basically had kimchi relish and crispy garlic on top which really contributed to the nice texture. the only thing was it was pretty pricey for a hotdog, although it does come with a side of salad or chips (or half/half, which we got). we also got the ovaltine milkshake ($8) and it was thick but really sweet (not too bad though, after all it's a treat)
google avatar

Annie L.

Yelp
I'm normally not a big fan of hot dogs (prefer chicken apple sausages). But Hayz Dog has got a taste for everyone! You want Asian? Get the Banh Mi dog. You want Chicago style? Get the Fluky. I didn't know what to expect as it's global flavors on top of an all beef hot dog! But you know what? It works! I got the Hayz dog and my hubby got the simple Bobo. His was a simple ketchup and mustard kind of guy and mine was topped with kimchi, spicy ketchup, garlic and scallions. Nothing too crazy but oh so good! Comes with a side of chips and I added a strawberry milkshake. Nothing like a soft, juicy, hot dog while people watching on Hayes! My husband commented on how SOFT the buns were, so fresh unlike anywhere else. Hayz Dog elevates hot dogs on another level! Dress up your hot dog how you want here!

Gary S.

Yelp
Finally a hot dog joint with some great dogs! Being a Chicago native I had the Fluky(homage to Fluky's hot dogs in Chicago) Decent bun ( no poppy seeds tho) mustard, green relish was available but yecch, tomatoes, REAL sport peppers, not jalapeños. The only fault I found keeping this from a five star was hamburger pickle chips instead of a kosher pickle spear! The $12+ price? Hey it's San Francisco I wanted to try the elite dog and the Philippines dog but was too full. I'll be back tho

Yelp
Great variety of different flavors! I got the elote hot dog and it was delicious! I can't wait to try the other menu items

Yelp
Grabbed dinner here on a Thursday evening and absolutely loved the casual and quirky vibe and wonderful service by the staff. There's a tiny indoor space with cool decor on the walls and just a few countertop seats, but they have outdoor parklet seating as well, including a few tables on the sidewalk which we took advantage of with the pleasant weather during our recent visit. We got the fluky with extra spicy peppers, and the bobo with cheddar and no mustard. The hot dogs were absolutely satisfying, seemingly boiled (not grilled), but are quite delicious nonetheless, the toppings piled on, creating a unique flavor for the different specialty dogs. We even devoured the lightly salted potato chips that came on the side, just because they went well with the hot dogs. With premium beer offerings on the menu as well, we enjoyed everything about our meals and experience as a whole at Hayz Dog.

Yelp
Got some good hot dogs in this Hayes Valley dine in. If you like to get random toppings, this is the kind of place. Hayz Dog can have a hard system to beat. Of course hot dogs are on the menu. There's a few plant based options. A pretty simple menu of hot dogs. It doesn't get much easier to be honest. The place was pretty clean inside. Basically it's a bit like a hot dog stand but indoors with a few tables and chairs. It's about $12 for the "Fluky." This is their version of the Chicago style. Comes with the classic toppings like sport peppers and all that it's known for. They have vegan friendly sausages you can get instead of the mystery meats to get something a bit healthier. Has a lot of hot dogs to choose from. It's a small place with limited seating so it's hard to eat inside. There's a few choices for vegans and vegetarians.
google avatar

Lele A.

Yelp
Their bread was so cold. I didn't know what was colder, the SF weather or the hot dog bread. After I expressed my concern that the bread immediately broke down, they replaced my elote hot dog. When they provided me a second hot dog, the bun was STILL cold as ice. The owner asked me if he could put it on the grill, and I asked, "shouldn't you do that for every customer". I will never order a mediocre cold hot dog that lacks flavor from here again. You'll have more satisfaction from a Costco hot dog. Trust me. That comes from someone who never gave anyone a one star review.
google avatar

Lynn F.

Yelp
You know how people say "I'm not religious, I'm spiritual"?Well I don't eat fast food, but I eat Hayz Dogs. They're sort of a spiritual experience. My first visit so ordered the gateway dog called Fluky. I customized a bit, no sauce (yuck to mayo), no sweet relish, yes yes yes to this flavor bomb in a bun. Perfection. You can eat inside at a small counter, sidewalk tables, or the parklet. Can't wait to eat my way through the menu.

Yelp
The Coverdale hot dog sausage is probably my favorite. I'm looking for it locally at a grocery store. If I come back to Hayz Dog, I'll get the banh mi hot dog again. Outdoor seating is available.

Yelp
Small place in Hayes Valley that I've gone to a couple times. It's fast and convenient and pretty good. Comes with a side of chips or salad. The chips came from a bag that looked like the Kirkland Signature Krinkle Cut Himalayan Salt Chips. At the end of the day, it's a $13 hot dog.

Yelp
Quick, easy, open fairly late, reasonably-priced for the area. Hayz Dog is savory, filling, and warm. I liked the bun, differing from some other reviewers on that. Will come back for other versions. Service is good and quick--the interior is casual and quirky--they make the small space work.

Yelp
Walked past this place for about a year until I finally tried it. All the options on the menu looked so appetizing I finally caved in and got myself an elote dog! The corn itself was so yummy and would definitely come back to try other options. Pet friendly place as well and always has a water bowl for pets :)

Yelp
Hot dog joint in the Hayes with a small menu. Everything tastes good and is fresh, the bread is really soft and the dog is grilled well. At the end of the day, it's a regular hot dog with various toppings. The dog is just a regular sausage and not anything gourmet. I would only come back here if I'm really craving a dog. The price ranges from $9-$13 which is a bit much for a hot dog imo. The chips are good. There is outdoor seating with a TV.

Yelp
Came here on a saturday evening around 7:15 and no line. Limited seating, but does have some covered outdoor and a couple indoor spots. The dog logo is so cute! We got the Fluky ($12.50) and Banh Mi ($12.50). Both were solid hot dogs, but I think I actually liked the banh mi better because of the pickled daikon and carrots- more unique, but it worked! I liked that with both of them we didn't feel super gross or greasy after eating them. I will say little expensive for a hot dog, but glad we tried it. Easy spot to grab a low key meal. Service was very nice!

Yelp
Very expensive for what you get! Had the vegan hot dog and it was ok. Toppings were very good. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Just too expensive!. Spent $20 on a regular sized hot dog with a few chips and a soda.

Yelp
Late night? Nothing open? This is your place. The dogs are intricate but not overly complicated. 4/5

Yelp
Was craving a Chicago hotdog and happen to find this place on yelp. It was pretty good. Very similar to the ones in Chicago. They even had the sports peppers, which were perfectly spicy and delicious. Each hotdog comes with kettle chips and a yummy aoli. My partner is a vegetarian and was able to make his hotdog veggie. Def recommend this place is you are craving a little taste of Chicago.

Yelp
Probably one of the best hot dogs I've ever had. I still think about this place, every time I'm eating a hot dog. And the service was just excellent. It wasn't busy when we came in the evening. If I lived closer, I'd probably get hot dogs from this place at least once a week.

Yelp
Ahh I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it fell flat for me. My standard for a good hot dog is Top Dog in Berkeley and for $13/dog I thought it was appropriate to expect that - the dog was medium tier quality. The toppings for both hot dogs I got just weren't as fresh as I wanted but they were plentiful! Lastly the bun was stale and not very flavorful, I was hoping for a high quality potato bun or brioche type bun but alas...

Yelp
If you know me, you know I love my Costco hot dogs--but sometimes, you gotta switch it up! Hayz Dog delivers on that front with its quirky and delicious lineup of gourmet hot dogs. The toppings here are next level, from crispy onions to fresh herbs, giving each bite a perfect mix of flavors and textures. The outdoor seating adds to the casual, laid-back vibe, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal. Whether you're a hot dog purist or love trying new creations, this place is worth checking out. Give me my damn hot dogs, and make it a Hayz Dog!

Yelp
Ive come here twice I love that they have veggie dogs and that you will always here Spanish! Including the music. There is a little spot outside to chill and have lunch. They have an elote dog its goood and they can make it veggie The veggie dog has a very spicy sauce There is always a little extra sauce on the side which is nice My only negative is that i asked if their mint lemonade was fresh and made there, they said yes and $5 or $6 later it was a canned drink -

Yelp
Got the Bobo dog with everything that comes with mustard, mayo, ketchup, relish, and onions. Hot dog was juicy and bread was very warm which I liked. Relish was also super fresh and chips and dip was a nice side.

Yelp
So happy to see a hot dog spot open up in the city! As someone who craves hot dogs from time to time, this is such a great option if you're looking for a fast and casual lunch or a post-night out spot (granted it closes before midnight). I got The Fluky, subbing out the relish for ketchup, and thought it was so solid! The hot dog itself was really nice and juicy and I didn't feel heavy or gross after - I did opt for the greens side instead of the chips which comes with balsamic vinaigrette as the dressing. Would totally come again to try another dog on the menu or honestly, get The Fluky again!

Yelp
I liked that I had ability to customize my hot dog with a wide variety of topping options. Also, I appreciate that they cater to different dietary needs, offering veggie hot dogs for non-meat eaters and gluten-free buns. The hot dog itself was enjoyable, satisfying my craving. The overall experience was positive. I'm looking forward to ordering from them again when I'm in the mood for a good hot dog!

Yelp
For $12 plus tax, I expected more than just a sad hot dog and a bag of chips. I didn't realize I was signing up for the "regret combo." Honestly, I left feeling emotionally overcharged and nutritionally underwhelmed. The hot dog had an aftertaste that transported me--not to childhood nostalgia--but to the exact moment I swore off hot dogs years ago. If you enjoy feeling swindled and mildly nauseous, this place is a must. Otherwise, do yourself a favor: walk a few blocks and spend your money on food that respects you. I miss the '90s when hot dogs were $1 and didn't taste like betrayal. Welcome to the era of gourmet price tags and gas station quality.

Yelp
I loooooove their Mexico corn hot dog. My fav in town!!! But sometimes chips are not fresh
