Inside Hazie’s, Hayes Valley’s New Restaurant and Bar From The Team Behind the Brixton, Rambler - Eater SF

"Hazie's is the latest restaurant from the Hat Trick Hospitality team, located at 501 Hayes Street. It features a solid cocktail menu and a collaboration with Joey Altman, known for his James Beard Award-winning show 'Bay Cafe', and as executive chef at Wild Hare and Miss Pearl’s Jam House. The restaurant aims to be a local space for groups to gather, offering an eclectic menu with shareable plates and smaller items, inspired by Altman's culinary career. The beverage menu, led by Victor Pichardo, skews towards tequila and mezcal but offers a variety of options, including large format cocktails and a zero proof menu. The space is designed by ROY Hospitality Design with a rock n’ roll vibe." - Dianne de Guzman

We had steaks with French fries and fried broccoli. Yes, it was delicious. But warn the waiter right away so that the chef does not add salt to the dish!!! - apparently the chef is in love and everything was oversalted, but it was still delicious. The German Riesling was really excellent. Lots of people, the bar works great, the waiters know their stuff. I give it 5 despite the overcrowding of the dish.

I came here with some coworkers on our lunch break and the place was pretty empty, but I've heard that this place can get very busy in the late afternoon to night. The menu is American food. I ordered the fried chicken burger with a salad (or fries). I honestly wasn't expecting much since this place seemed mostly a bar/happy hour location, but the burger was really flavorful and the chicken was moist. The orange sauce for the burger was a bit too salty for me though. I didn't order any drinks so I cannot comment on that. Service was good. Overall, a nice and chic place for a quick bite and happy hour!

This place was suggested by a staff person at Dark Garden. Good beer list for the guys , nice wine selection by the glass. Fries were ordered well done, perfectly executed.

This has been open for a while so we decided to check it out for brunch during a long weekend. We didn’t have a reservation but had a choice of high top or bar seating. They had the Spanish La Liga game (soccer) going on the TVs. We ordered a poke bowl with Lychee martini. (Lychee martini is only offered on the weekends.) my lunch companion ordered the Asian (fried) chicken salad which paired well w the cider. It was mixed crowd of local and international folks visiting. Will definitely come by again though I’d have to do it off hours as this is always crowded with the brunch crowd.

This place was recommended for its great brunch and atmosphere, but I was here for an early-day cocktail 🤣 The cocktails did not disappoint! Just wish I had timed it for Happy Hour. I also ordered the pasta of the day, which turned out to be Mac & Cheese style—loaded with cheese. Guess I'll worry about losing weight... eventually 🫠

Google
Great dinner before the show at the Orpheum. They have happy hour until 6. We loved the special squash blossom appetizer. The play on French 75 was yummy and we had a boozy espresso shooter which was well balanced. The poke appetizer was perfect for the 3 of us. The duck pasta was ultra rich and tasty. The chef came over to chat which was so nice.

Really great food, and a really great environment. Best poke bowl we’ve ever had and the wings were sooooo crispy. Highly recommend!

Came in on a Tuesday night really excited to check this place out while visiting from out of town. Unfortunately, i arrived at 9:15 PM to find the kitchen had already closed. I was able to enjoy a delicious cocktail before last call at 9:30—30 minutes before the posted closing time. As someone who works in the restaurant and bar industry (Management) I was hoping there would be at least a few late-night food options available, or more of a relaxed vibe for guests to enjoy a nightcap. Just a heads-up for others: if you're planning a late visit, be aware that food service may end earlier than expected or stated on website.

Yelp
Everything just worked here and make it a great experience for us, the ambience, great service, and food. This place was a lot of fun with a pulse. Loved the ambience, the energy, the music. Everything. The service was great too. The host was fantastic, welcoming and all about customer experience. Our waitress was also great. She was nice, helped us with the menu. She was attentive but gave us space to enjoy our dinner. The food was overall a success. - crispy rice w/salmon: loved the crispy rice and the fish was fresh and not pre-made smoked. - the cheese & pulled pork: this was very tasty. Loved every bite of it. Good flavor and satisfying. - Duck pasta: it met our expectations. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the duck had good rich flavor. - Steak: Was cooked as requested, medium rare and had really good seasoning. The fries were also yum. - Bread pudding: it was good, I've had better though. - Coconut passionfruit special: really tasty and moist.

Yelp
The best service hands down! We stopped by for a quick round of drinks and the staff were so friendly as soon as we stepped through the door. We ordered one ride the lightning and love your neighbor. The drinks were tasty and the place had a laid back/calm vibe for a Sunday night. Will be back for drinks and hope to try the food next time!

Yelp
Came here to catch up with a friend on a rainy week, and the interior of this restaurant was so warm and cozy! We had reservations for 6:45 PM, and I would recommend making one because it was quite packed. It seems like a popular place to go before shows at the Civic Center. I liked the dim lighting with high ceilings and beautiful bar, it created a swanky ambiance. My friend and I both got the Duck Carbonara. It's a good sized portion and looked beautiful. They give a lot of suck, and it is very tender. I loved the bite of the pasta, it's just a very rich dish due to the sauce and the gamey meat. Neither of us could finish so we took home leftovers. The food was great albeit pricey, I would consider coming back here for a nice dinner before a show.

Yelp
Hazie's is delicious but be ready to spend a lot of money! I came on a weekend night and was able to get a seat immediately, although it was at the bar. My friend wanted to get Queso (and chips) and even though I'm not a cheese girlie, I obliged. And you know what? It was delicious!!! Wow!! We also got the crispy chicken wings (my idea). It was toooooo spicy. And lots of bone and not that much meat. I regret my choice. For our main dish we got the duck carbonara and it was again DELICIOUS. The cheesy pasta, the salty duck, what a combo! They didn't skimp on the meat for this dish. (This was too much food for 2 people, we had leftovers). It was already January but they had a seasonal Christmas espresso martini type drink that we got, and it was delicious!! The food came faster than our drinks though, but whatever I had a good time!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! First time here and will definitely be back! Wonderful ambiance, food and service. Definitely recommend making a reservation. Great for parties of 2-12+ Wonderful before taking in a show at the Orpheum - it's only a 14 min walk away.

Yelp
Overall great service. The waiter continuously checked in on us as well as the chef. They gave us recommendations, topped our drinks and cleaned the table throughout our meal. We started off with the truffle arancini, it was crispy but when I did reach the middle, it was cold sadly. I did really enjoy the carbonara, the duck was soft and melted in your mouth. The sauce was delicious and creamy. I thought the steak was tender and the chimichurri was a great touch to put on top. I did like the scallops but it sat on top of a bed of tartar sauce and honestly, it was a bit much for me. I think it could have just been on the side because it took away from the actual star of the dish. Overall wonderful place and really enjoyed my date!

Yelp
Super friendly service and great food! Lunched recently as a party of eight and everyone liked what they had. I enjoyed my BBQ brisket sandwich with fries. Loved the soft bun and it was very easy to eat, flavorful but not salty brisket, and plentiful fries. I could easily have stopped at eating only half of my order but I couldn't help myself and finished the whole thing! We also shared the flatbread with 3 dips and a burrata plate and they were yummy! I also liked the transformation of the space from the old Stacks. I hope to come back again for lunch, very convenient spot if you're in the Hayes Valley/Civic Center area.

Yelp
Had a great time at Hazie's mid-december celebrating the year end and holidays with my friend. They're located at the corner of Haze and Octavia St. Beautiful full bar, decor, and various selection of seating. Hazie's is the perfect for small and large groups, date night and dinner or drinks before a show. We made reservations online and few days before, and at the time the only spots available were their indoor communal tables. Although hesitant knowing it'd be a busy night, we lucked out during check-in and was seated in our own table. My friend and I were a party of 2 seated next to the bar. Staff was friendly and their menu selection was something to be excited for - fusion food is my favorite. What we ordered: Drinks: Ginger Beers. We don't prefer alcohol drinks so we were excited to see ginger beer and ginger ale on the menu. These were delicious Appetizer: Ahi Tuna Poke on Crispy Wonton - 3pc. This number came with chilli crisps which was delicious. The poke sat on a bed of freshly shredded greens that were crunchy, creamy from the diced avocado's and when topped with the chilli crisps... it was chef's kiss. Appetizer: Roasted Egg Plant with Lemon Tahini. Egg plant was creamy! Great vegetarian option to kick off our meal. Salad: Roasted Baby Beets. 5/5. Solid salad with beautifully roasted beets. They were tender, sweet and gorgeously red. The goat cheese complimented the salad so well. Would love to eat this one again. Entree: Scallops with tzatziki sauce and potatoes. Scallops were cooked just right - sweet and tender. I've never had scallops with tzatziki sauce before and was pleasantly surprised and glad we ordered this as our main. Entree: Duck Cabonara. I was incredibly full by the time this one came out so I was tapped out. I remember it being creamy, rich in flavor and generous in duck meat. My friend and I were also pleasantly surprised that chef Joey came out to deliver some of our dishes, and thanking us for visiting the restaurant. It was nice and refreshing. The memories were excellent here for us to wrap up 2024.

Yelp
We had a volunteer day of work and to celebrate our efforts, we went to Hazie's in Hayes Valley to celebrate and have a late lunch. We ordered cocktails and the following dishes: - Fish Tacos - very good, big pieces of breaded fish. - Poke Bowl - a couple people ordered these and loved it. - Burrata Tomato Salad - a big hit, we ordered 2 of these for the table to share. Service was prompt and friendly, food came out fast and was flavorful and the full bar with cocktails and craft beer had a little something for everyone. I would absolutely recommend this place for a group meal, friends lunch, date night or just a solo meal or drink - because you deserve it.

Yelp
Good vibes and drinks/wine. My friend one of the bartenders was upset that she could not have her drink for some reason, but my experience so far with service was ok. The duck carbonara was ok though, tasted more like pulled pork. Didn't feel like duck goes well w the dish. The texture of the chicken wings was good but ok taste. Might re-visit for drinks but probs not for food, but their dumplings looked good.

Yelp
We came here for a mother/daughter night out and both the drinks and food were excellent. We didn't have reservations and were told we can sit at the bar and wait for a table. It was a busy night and we were able find a seat at the bar after a little bit of waiting. We ordered our drinks and a couple of happy hour items, the spicy chips with guacamole and a fish taco. Both items were delicious and kept us happy till we got our table. Once we were at our table we ordered the grilled asparagus Cesar salad, the eggplant dip, and the duck confit pasta. All were very good with the exception of the pita that came with the eggplant. The pita was not soft and very chewy. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect where you can feel the festiveness and yet still able to carry on a conversation.

Yelp
When your friend sends you an IG reel, you're like let me bookmark this place. As enticed I was the food looked so good! We tried to go to a different restaurant first but it was too packed and I remembered hey let's got to Hazies! Located in Hayes Valley area. Parking is a hot mess out there but we were able to snag a spot very close. HH is from 3-6pm daily with great choices I might add. Started off with cocktails of course Avocado Crispy rice handrollls with chunks of ahi tuna which was amazing! Oven flatbread with sun-dried tomatoes Crispy chicken wings w/chili ginger lime glaze-had the perfect crunch and unique Roasted eggplant with the lemon tahini- now eggplant isn't for everyone but I do love me some eggplant! Severed chilled but worked well with cherry tomatoes and baked pita. Next we had their special squash tempura which was highlighted on the reel. Perfect light batter with two amazing dipping sauces. The show stopped what I loved the most was sichuan pork dumplings-flavorful and cooked to perfection. And last by not least the main event was the duck carbonara- oooh never had something like this for! Silky and rich filled with duck confit. Definitely I would recommend grabbing lunch or dinner at this fine establishment.

Yelp
I tried this place at just the right time that coincided with SF Restaurant Week, which offered 3 courses of food for $45. I also like that any additional cocktails would be flat $10. This is a great time to try out new restaurants especially when I have a number of things I wanted to try from the menu. Food: Honeynut squash tempura 9/10 - did not like the aioli sauce but the ponzu was decent Duck carbonara 10/10 - bucatini was perfectly al dente Dulce de leche parfait 3/10 - way too much dulce de leche for the portion so it became overwhelmingly sweet Drinks: Hazie's on the beet 9/10 Ride the lightning 9/10 - the infused jalapeño really has a kick but I love it I thoroughly enjoyed my meal with superb service from the attentive staff. They have limited table seatings so it's best to make a reservation even for a weekday.

Yelp
Great ambience eclectic menu with excellent service. Food was also top-notch. We tried multiple things, including the shareable plates with broccoli. We also tried the tuna poke nachos. For the main entrées, the chicken and sausage was pretty decent. However, the scallops were not worth the price given that we only had 2 1/2 scallops for over $30 love their drink menu as well and the vibe is really what sells it although the overall experience and food was great. I think I will need to try a few more places before I circle back here.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing spot with decent deals on drinks for happy hour. Their espresso martini is such a lovely treat. The service we received was prompt and attentive while the dishes were small, they were well done. The duck carbonara was a standout although it could have used a little more duck!
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Ok, we came here for a wedding reception after the ceremony in San Francisco City Hall. First, it is not far from city hall so it's walkable. Second they might have had a set menu so I don't know what the "normal" menu foods might have been. BUT if they were anything like the food they served at the reception it was delicious !! The service was also wonderful the ambiance was very chill. I would definitely come here again for it all.

Yelp
Solid date night spot, tldr expensive but solid. Service was amazing, they were so sweet and kept us updated if there was a delay in our order We got the Tuna Poke Crisps, squash tempura, scallops, and the duck carbonara Highlights: -duck carbonara (8.5/10): super yummy and not too creamy and heavy! The duck addd a differentiating fragrant to it compared to a regular carbonara and I really enjoyed it. I added some left over chili sauce from my poke and it was chefs kiss Other dishes: - Squash tempura(8/10): nicely seasoned and the squash was not tough at all, came with two sauces and even though it was fried felt more on the lighter side. Pretty standard dish - Ahi Tuna Poke (8/10) pretty standard as well, everything you imagine it would taste like - Scallops (7/10) Good, seared scallops with a tartar dill based sauce. I don't think I'd get it again if I come back. Why did it only have 3 pieces like if I ordered this as an entree for myself only I would be so hungry, docked off a point for that LOL

Yelp
I had dinner here with 4 friends for a birthday during restaurant week. We all walked away so pleased with our choice. First of all, the service was outstanding. From the hostess, to the waitress, and the runners everyone was attentive and friendly. Our party all enjoyed their cocktails and food. The portions of food were extremely generous and we were very surprised with most of us taking food home. I really loved my duck carbonara. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting as well. I'd love to come back!

Yelp
Great and interesting food. Enjoyable atmosphere and great service. Wonderful conversation with executive chef.

Yelp
This was my first time trying their dinner menu and I was pleasantly surprised by their Asian fusion dishes. The fried wings had some ginger and chili flavors that paired well with the juicy meat and I loved the duck carbonara. Super creamy with plenty of duck. Overall great vibes and food options, definitely a bit pricey but great for date night.

Yelp
I have eaten at this place twice. I ordered the tuna poke salad last time and regret ordering it. I thought the tuna poke salad would be a salad made of tuna but it's actually a salad. Don't get fooled! This time, I decided to order the fish tacos. I'm so glad I ordered something else. The fish tacos are so good. The beer butter fish is so soft and smooth. I would say the fish tacos are a tad bit spicy. There seems to be buffalo sauce in the tacos. I wished they gave an option to put the spicy sauce on the side. I also ordered a ginger beer. The ginger beer was really good until I got to the end. There seem to have an alcoholic feel to the ginger beer. But overall I give a 5 star experience. The people were super attentive.

Yelp
I went here for brunch and wasn't super impressed. We ended up sitting at the bar since there wasn't a table ready. I ordered the latkes with salmon, but they were burnt and also my dish came without the cream. I then had to ask for it and they brought it out on the side. The quality of my food was severely lacking also our service was pretty bad. I had higher hopes for this place but I left very disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Great late night spot to stop by for a cocktail. There're picnic tables outside that are great if the weather is nice Got the Harvester "up" (without ice) on the recommendation of the waiter and it was silky smooth and delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Our party of 7 had a pleasant brunch here! Delicious food (I loved my huevos rancheros!), friendly (though slow at times) service, and a spacious, inviting setting! I appreciated the fact they take online reservations for brunch.
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
Solid happy hour! The dumplings and the poke wontons were better and more generous than I expected! I enjoyed my two martinis! one was at happy hour price because I was running late but it was so good I didn't mind paying full price for the second. I loved the chile crisp they used as a condiment to the apps.

Yelp
Went for San Francisco Restaurant Week Dinner Food - 5/5. Tempura had a very delicate batter with a small crisp that paired well with the soft texture of the squash. Both sauces paired well with the tempura; the ponzu for its savory tartness and the aioli for its silky texture. Pork dumplings were plump with a robust, savory filling. The richness of the filling was made vibrant by the sauce, which had a good level of sweet, sour, and spicy notes to it. The toasted chili crisps were a fun texture addition to the smoothness of the dumplings. The duck carbonara fit my expectation of a carbonara that has been upscaled into an even more luxurious version of itself. The flavor was masterfully balanced with the richness of duck, salty flavors of bacon, sharpness of parmesan, and the velvety cream harmonizing perfectly into a decadent, yet not overpowering sauce. The pasta was a little past al dente, but the softer bite actually made it pair better with the duck confit. Bread pudding had a fun texture mix of firm bread and soft custard. The sweetness level was excellent and the chantilly cream gave it a soft finish. Personally, I would have liked the bananas emulsified into the pudding instead of in whole chunks, as neither the banana's texture nor its flavor meshed well with the dessert. More chocolate would have also helped. Service - 4/5. Professional and courteous. It was a busy night so we did not see our server much, but service itself was timely. Our table was wobbly and initially our server couldn't fix it. However, another staff member came around and managed to stabilize the table, leading to a better dining experience. Value - 5/5. The restaurant week special offers three courses for a modest $45 price tag. It had a good variety of choices from their regular menu, including some of their signature dishes. I am not sure if the portion sizes were any different from the regular menu, but I felt the amount they gave was generous. You save about 10% and get a dessert included with their restaurant week offer, making restaurant week a fantastic time to try Hazie's. Parking - Street (Metered)

Yelp
Good place for drinks! Can get pretty busy after 5ish pm and full food menu starts at 5 pm. My friend and I were intrigued by the duck carbonara but were a little disappointed by it after trying it. The garlic knots with the truffle sauce were really good though so that was a nice surprise!
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely and vibrant spot for happy hour with the girlies!! Located in the lively neighborhood of Hayes Valley, it's always a nice time to walk around after too. We enjoyed the flatbread and handrolls, great options for anything from a quick bite to a full meal. They have a pretty solid happy hour, along with a large cocktail pitcher deal, great for groups (that's served in a cute vintage looking fishbowl). Loved the flavor of the drinks here and honestly they are also pretty strong. Service was friendly and efficient.
google avatar

Idy L.

Yelp
Hazie's is always a great spot to stop at whether for happy hour or a post dinner drink. They have a limited bar bites menu during the off hours between lunch and dinner. My friends and I often stop by for a quick drink when we're in the area. I really enjoy their Bloody Marys and they make a good dirty martini as well. They have communal bar seating and some very cozy booths if you're looking for more than just drinks. Service was very attentive.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday afternoon for brunch with my husband! I've driven by a number of times and finally decided to give it a try. We had a reservation so we were seated right away. The the modern decor and numerous windows make the place feel really open and airy. The food is also great. We ordered: - Latkes: crispy and delicious, the fresh dill was a nice addition to the house-made apple sauce and creme fraiche - Crab & Rockshrimp Cake Benedict: the crab and shrimp cakes were well made and full of both shrimp and crab, the egg was perfectly poached, the hollandaise was rich and the tomato salsa added a touch of acidity which lightened everything up. The downside is this Benedict didn't come with an english muffin (or bread of any kind), so although it tasted good it always felt like each bite was missing something. To make up for this, I ordered a side of toast. - Pastrami Hash & Eggs: hearty serving, savory/salty chunks of pastrami, roasted veggies and potatoes, all topped in sour cream and salsa. No complaints. - Cocktails: well made, ordered two more lol Def give them a try if you're in the area.

Yelp
Came here at 1pm on a Saturday and it was quite busy. Very nice ambiance inside and well decorated. Got seated within 5 minutes. It's airy and bright inside, with a view overlooking Patricia Greens. They also have a unique drink menu. I ordered crispy chicken salad which was delicious, they do not skimp on the chicken, the salad had mandarins, peanuts, crispy wonton, and a tasty dressing that had vinegarette taste. It was $22 but I think well worth it and would definitely get it again. My boyfriend got the brisket sandwich, and it was good, but a little bit dry. It needed more aioli for sure. The fries were average. Service was pretty fast as well, if I was in the area again, I'd come back.

Polly W.

Yelp
We had a big group and they kept all our orders straight even though we did our best to confuse them. The food was fun. The location was a bit tricky for parking but I would go back.

Yelp
A comfy, casual atmosphere to bring small and large parties for a regular meal or a special occasion in the heart of Hayes. Multiple seating options to choose from: bar, high top tables, main floor dining tables, and banquettes suitable for all. Many drinks to select from as well, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Most importantly, food was excellent. Unique dishes, fresh ingredients, and large shareable portions. We all left very satisfied with our dinner and are excited to return for brunch.
google avatar

Nyla K.

Yelp
Came here strictly for drinks before dinner. We grabbed seats at the bar and got a round of drinks. Sitting at the bar is always cool because you can see the bartenders make the fancy drinks. I only got a Manhattan which was made perfectly. Shame we didn't have time for me to try something else on the menu. The food looked good so I wanna give that a try next time. There's a bit of a young crowd here... I felt a bit old (40s).

Yelp
*round up to 3.5 stars Made a ressie for Friday night dinner and glad I did because it was busy! | v i b e | I love the interior. Dimly light but loud so it felt like dressy casual. | f o o d | Ordered a few drinks - be warned, the espresso martini was STRONG. The midtown was yummy though. For food, we got the pan roasted salmon. It was cooked well and the skin was crispy. I really liked the spinach risotto! The waygu flatiron steak frites was a hearty meal. Overall cooked well and I enjoyed everything but thought the fries were a little too salty. The steak was juicy and I loved the jus that came with it. | t l ; d r | Overall great vibes - would come back for happy hour or to grab some appetizers and drinks next time! Also want to give brunch a try next time

hazie's has been a repeat spot for me, the drinks are strong and creative. the food is unique and yummy. love their happy hour a lot! service is pretty great and accommodating. i'd recommend coming for after work happy hour or for getting drinks on a date. i spent nye here and had a great time.

Yelp
This is a really lovely new restaurant is Hayes valley in sf, with decent prices for a slightly more upscale experience. I had the open face Rueben with a salad. Whatever the dressing on the salad was, I enjoyed it, and the Rueben was a little messy to eat but very delicious.
google avatar

Steven S.

Yelp
My dinner was a little slow coming out but it came out nice and hot and was cooked to protection. The service was very friendly and the ambiance of the place was pretty good for a wine bar. I give them 4 stars
google avatar

Kymberlee B.

Yelp
Food is great. Don't get fooled though by "nachos" on the menu... it's not. Read the fine print, chips and guac lol. Staff was great, ambiance was nice. Huge bar area. Average price for drinks in the area. They had happy hour on a Sunday! Yes please :)

Vince C.

Yelp
Worst service ever. The bartenders are awful rude and lame. If you are a straight white male stay away, they will treat you like garbage, even if you are with women and gay men. Terrible food and over priced, these people act like they are so much better than the people they serve. Terrible awful and negative atmosphere. This place needs new owners and managers. F this place .

Yelp
Hazie's has some prime real estate within Hayes Valley, but unfortunately the food price-value ratio is not necessarily up to par! We came for brunch on Sunday, and ordered an avocado toast with lox, granola bowl and side of potatoes, and a croque madame. Each of the brunch items was about ~$24 pre-tax and tip, which I thought was a bit pricey for what we got. The vibe and service itself was nice, but I would pass on coming here a second time.
google avatar

Zach H.

Yelp
Personally I liked the ambiance but not the drinks. Also the "nacho chips" are not nachos, they're chips with a tiny (near-imperceptible) amount of some kind of seasoning.

Yelp
Came here after a night at the symphony only to find out upon seating that there was no food to be served. We came on a Friday night after 10pm. We didn't notice anything about food hours and wish we had known before sitting down. Our group of 5 sat ourselves down, the waitress was doing other stuff around us and finally noticed us and gave us the drinks menu. It was loud so it was hard to hear when she said something and then walked away. We had to inquire about a food menu and left since we were hungry for a meal. Disappointed because i had wanted to try this spot out.

Yelp
This is my go to Hayes valley bar for an early cocktail . Friendly bar staff and a good happy hour. I would lean away from the crispy wings and try some of their other items on happy hour. The ambiance is a mix of bar and restaurant.

Yelp
The food was very good and the staff was very attentive for an early evening dinner before the symphony! Would definitely go back again and support this local restaurant.

Yelp
I've been to this place twice, and had a blast both times! Located right on Hayes adjacent to the park, this establishment is easy to get to and fun to enjoy during the summer when the city blocks the street off for cars. Such a lively area and Hazie's adds a fun casual flare to the rather stuffy dining scene of the area. Both times I've sat at the bar and been served by Brian. He has such a great energy about him and made us the BEST espresso martini WITH TEQUILA. I didn't even know this was possible until my friend requested it since our previous drinks had mezcal. Brian used a liquor, I believe it was Averna, which made the tequila SO smooth and in harmony with the espresso. We started with the "NAKED & FAMOUS" -Union Mezcal, Yellow Chartreuse, Aperol, Lime $16 And my friend got the "RIDE THE LIGHTNING" -Infused Jalapeño & Habanero Casamigos Blanco Tequila, Fresh Cucumber Sunuo, Lime, Agave, Cilantro $15 Both drinks were incredibly light, refreshing, and tasty without being too sweet. It was a hot San Francisco autumn night and they really hit the spot. We just came over from the Biergarten across the park and were in need of some substantial food. We ordered the Ahi Tuna and Steak Frites. AHI TUNA POKE ON CRISPY WONTONS Avocado, jalapeños, ginger slaw & sesame-chili crunch $19 -so freaking delicious; as I mentioned it was hot that night and this light crunchy bite was the perfect way to start our meal STEAK FRITES Akaushi wagyu flatiron steak, red wine jus & pepita z'hug $33 -I still dream about this plate... and I eat a lot of steak. So tender and perfectly cooked (we asked for medium) and the fries were slender crispy perfection To top things off, we had an incredible recommendation by Brian to have the TIRAMISU and an espresso martini (mentioned above). It was really and incredible ending to a fun meal. It came in a giant pot Will definitely be back to hangout with Brian and bring all my friends!

Yelp
Duck carbonara was delectable and the vibes were so good for a romantic date night. I love how they fuse different foods and are actually successful at it, not just doing it to bring in different audiences.

Yelp
The service and the atmosphere was spectacular. Our waitress never kept us waiting long, and responded to all of our food related questions. The space itself has an intimate feeling during later hours, and is really well decorated. The food is decent, we ordered the cold soba noodles, wagyu steak, and ahi tuna poke which ended up being our favorite. Would pass on the noodles next time, the steak was juicy and paired well with the sauce but had little or no seasoning to it, ahi tuna on crispy wontons was a delicious shareable. Would recommend going with friends!

Yelp
Decent happy hour however, there was only one bartender for the entire restaurant and upon walking in, no one greeted me; many people walked right by me standing at the front door, one who appeared to be a manager but no one even looked my way so I decided to make my way to an open spot at the bar. The restaurant is spacious and has plenty of seating. The food was good - we ordered the charcuterie happy hour plate and two cocktails. The bartender asked if we'd like more bread for the charcuterie board to which we said yes as there weren't many provided, not knowing he would charge for the extra bread so that should be told to patrons versus asking if more is wanted and then adding to the bill. I've been here for brunch as well and the food is really good - a bit on the pricey side but comparable to similar brunch spots in the city.
