The smell of caramelized onions wafts through this outdoor brewery as each smashburger is made to order. The patty is juicy as hell, the melty American drips down the sides, and the tangy sriracha sauce brings it all together. Make sure to get a double (as you should with any good smashburger) and pair it with crispy fries and a side of garlic-guajillo mayo. "Long-anticipated Headlands Brewing has finally opened in the Westbrae neighborhood of Berkeley with 24 beers, ciders, and chilled wines on tap. They’ve got a massive outdoor patio with three fire pits, loads of heat lamps, and two TVs, in addition to a kids’ play area in the back. "The Westbrae Biergarten space on Gilman is a well-loved neighborhood spot, and Headlands Brewing took over the outdoor beer space and gave it a much-needed upgrade. Reopening in June 2024, the grounds now boast new fire pits, TVs for sports, and additional seating.
