"No sunny day in Berkeley is complete without a double smashburger from Headlands Brewing. It’s juicy, loaded up with melty cheese, and coated in caramelized onions. The rest of the food—especially the crispy fries with garlic-guajillo mayo, soft pretzel, and salad—are great, and make perfect sides for the smashbuger. The beer choices are excellent, with a rotating menu of rich stouts, fruity sours, and crisp hefeweizens. But this beer garden is more than just a place to get a great burger and a pint. It’s a gathering place for just about anyone—there’s a children’s play area, firepits next to a waterfall feature, and plenty of sun (and shade) to keep you lounging through the entire weekend." - Ricky Rodriguez
