Henry's Tacos

Henry's Tacos is a good place for a quick bite to eat after walking around the other shops along tujunga near here. They have a few tables outside to sit at which are nice when in the shade. I had a couple hard tacos and loved them. All the ingredients tasted fresh. The ground beef had a great flavor to it and the Crunchy Taco Shell was great quality and didn't fall apart. The employee that took our order was poliete and helpful. Only downside that some may find is this is a cash only business. I will definitely stop by here in the future when I am nearby.

This place was recommended by someone who grew up in the area. It lived up to the hype and reminded me of the tacos my Greek mom made for me growing up. I'm already plotting what I'll get there next time I go.

Unfortunately the service quality and food hasn’t met expectations. I have been eating Henery’s for over 40 years. I still stop in for their coke with crushed ice, taco and burrito. Their taco sauce is still scrumptious!! It was a neighborhood taco stand for us kids that served us food with love. The staff was always fantastic and friendly. This place is super basic and straightforward, just look at how simple the menu is and you'll see that there aren't tons of options and customizations here. It's simple tacos and burritos, but if you like no frills, it's very satisfying. The prices are super cheap (cash only) and the portions are small, but I just discovered this place a week ago and have already been back a few times. They basically have ground beef, beans, shredded cheddar, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, hot sauce and tortillas (or hard taco shells), and whatever you can make with those ingredients. I'm a fan and see myself going back many times in the future. It's just a walk up window with some patio seating in the back, so hopefully that prepares you for what to expect.

Not that many options for tacos, they only seemed to have beef. The ground beef was kinda dry and I heard microwave beeps which might be from reheating? I’ve also never seen a taco place with no limes... the food was still tasty but there are better places for sure!

Tacos should not be complicated and Henry's is one of my favorite places to go. I just love their tacos and their take on the soft taco. Their hot sauce is hard to beat. For reals. Very kind of old school. FYI...cash only but they have an ATM in the back patio.

Fantastic tacos. We usually get 3-4 tacos each and sit at the one of the outside dining areas. They also have their house made taco sauce!!!

I used to come to Henry's all the time in high school and so excited to try it again! I remember being bummed when I heard they had closed but happy to see they just relocated. They are cash only. Easy parking in the shopping center. Simple menu and quick service. We ordered some crunchy tacos, a tostada, and a horchata and orange bang. It brought me all back to high school, still so simple and tasty and perfect for a quick taco fix. So glad I got to try it again and will be back for more!

I've been going to Henry's Tacos since I was a kid, and it's still one of my favorite places. It is cash-only, but worth it to me!

I stopped by Henry's Tacos today after not going there for awhile. I don't know if there are new owners but the food was very disappointing. The burrito which was $3.50 was flat like a piece of paper. There was next to no beans or cheese. It was like they spread on a layer of beans like butter on toast. The taco burger was ok but on a tiny bun. The meat tasted strange as well. I spent $17.75 on four items that were way too small. I understand that inflation is affecting all of us but this was ridiculous! Tried to call to let them know how I felt about the paper thin burrito and the overall subpar quality but the number was disconnected. I will never go back to this place again. Do not waste your money at Henry's Tacos.

This place only takes cash and the atm takes 3 or 4 bucks in the back. This is a Costco taco- meaning the most basic, non-creative, region less, flavorless taco you'll ever have in The taco Mecca of LA. The shell is not made in house. The ground meat has no special flavor or simmer or sear. Just go to guisados and skip this spot. The burrito is small for the price and I wish someone hear was creative or cared about what they were sending out. This is very close to a del taco hard taco for 3.50. Yeesh.

The best Tacos on the planet! I'm originally from Los Angeles and use to eat there all the time but I just recently bought a house in Las Vegas and I wish they had one here. Burritos are awesome too! Let's join forces and open another Henry's Las Vegas!

I have to be honest - I was disappointed. I love the area, the easy parking. the service, and I remember coming here years ago and being blown away by the hard shell tacos. I remember the tacos being huge before and 2 filling me up? Maybe I'm dreaming. I remember the tv show Adam 12 ate here . I was exploring Ventura Blvd on a lazy Sunday and hadn't eaten all day and I suddenly remembered Henry's and was so excited and decide to keep driving over to Studio City. I was so excited! The food was delicious. But the burritos was the size of a Tina's $.99 microwave burrito and was $4.75. And the taco was like what I get at Del Taco. Not the huge ones I remembered. $8 for a taco and burrito. I was still really hungry but I need to lose 15 pounds so I didn't order anything else. But it was yummy. * I was in the bathroom a lot the entire night. Just sayin'.

A valley icon over 50 years in business! Service was friendly, and the food was ready within minutes! They have plenty of easy parking outback, as well as a few seats to enjoy your food outside. They were super friendly, very welcoming, and the food was made to order fresh. Both the tacos and burritos were good and cheap, great option in the area!

Henry's Taco in Studio City has been a goto for me since walking there after school for a taco or burrito in 1970. The menu stays consistent, and the taco sauce is unique.

They have a good, classic crunchy taco. Menu is streamlined. I've tried a few of their other menu items but their crunchy tacos are their tastiest item. I think they're best with their hot sauce on them. The hot sauce tops off the flavor nicely. Cash only. ATM available. Limited outdoor seating. Street parking available and a limited space parking lot available on the side of their building.

Definitely do not recommend. Yes the prices are too good to be true. The only meat they have is ground beef, so that should say something.. My hands smell like crayons after that burrito. I have no idea what I just put in my stomach.

I love this place. Don't go here expecting your typical LA street taco. Henry's is more like a Taco Bell style taco if you will, only more fresh and home made I suppose. Hard to explain, you just have to try it. Make sure you ask for extra taco sauce on the side.

Stopped in today for the first time, got two soft taco no tomatoes and a bowl of chili. Everything was amazing and just had I ordered it and the staff was nice and friendly. Salsa or taco Sauce was ok. Only problems are drinks are too small and beware it's CASH ONLY I recommend it good white boy tacos

Had the bean and cheese burrito. Friendly service! I appreciate that they list their prices including tax, makes it easy to bring the correct amount of cash (PSA: CASH ONLY). The burrito was a bit small but still good enough for a light lunch and fair for a flat price of $4.50. Comes with salsa which is good because it is a very simple burrito - just classic refried pinto beans and some cheese. I asked for onions but couldn't taste them, so hopefully they add more next time. Still giving it 4 stars because the relative to other spots that serve fresh-cooked food the prices are pretty great and I love supporting a local spot! Definitely worth a try if you're a fan of an easy, fresh, fast snack or meal.

This place used to be cool. Quick, cheap, American tacos... soft tacos here are $5 here now! This is insane, trust me, go anywhere else

Tragically delicious. No other way to explain it. It's an old school down and dirty taco stand. They used to have a better location but I'm just happy that they're still around. The White Castle of Mexican food. And who doesn't love White Castle. Like I said, tragically delicious. Love this place.

Henry's will always hold a special place in my heart. I've been dining here for decades, since its original location on Tujunga and Moorpark. At my most recent visit, the service was prompt, and the food was as tasty as I remember. They offered us their hot sauce to accompany our taco and burrito order. Parking is easy in this location with a lot around back. There are tables for dining, and we opted to enjoy our meal there since it was a lovely day. I'll continue to frequent Henry's whenever I need my taco fix.

I really hate to give this one star, the people were nice and the location is great. But we're there for the food and I have to say, maybe the worst burrito I've ever come across. Food is simple, ground beef, and beans with some cheese. Pretty bland stuff, reminds me of when I was a kid eating cafeteria food in elementary school. If I was starving I'd eat it but I won't be returning again. They seem to do a brisk business, perhaps because of how convenient it is. If you like it, bless you for keeping nice people employed. Try it for yourself and form your own opinion.

Food is ok. Higher prices than similar carry outs. Location is ok. But be warned they ONLY accept cash. Most searches will list credit cards and apple pay but this is false. The only accept cash which is not a good business practice for the 21st Century.

I LOVE henry's tacos. This place has been open for well over 40 years. More of a "tex mex" taco rather than something authentic, Comes with shredded beef and lettuce. Very good taco, meat is flavored extremely well, and very good price. Good portions, I eat here at least once a month. Check it out if you are in the area, never disappoints. best tacos .

Just don't go. I used to visit this place on a regular basis and loved it but I have not been there in a couple of years. I am not sure if they have new ownership or what but the burrito was the size of an EGG ROLL. When I unwrapped the packaging I seriously thought it was an egg roll because it was so small. Very disappointing. They give you one small salsa with your burrito. I asked for another and they charged my for it. What a joke. It is too bad because this place was great.

You'll think they're over-charging for what's basically Taco Bell-like food. But it tastes really good! Much better than TB.

I grew up eating at Henry's, and I have a nostalgia-fueled love when I order my two tacos and combo burrito. In reality it is just a better quality and better tasting version of Taco Bell (if Taco Bell only did tacos and burritos). If you have any dirty coins make sure you get their hot sauce, it'll clean them right up.

I couldn't believe how rude the girl was at the counter, until I saw some other reviews and I totally agree with them. I wish there was an owner to talk to about this, or cared to read these reviews. I ordered four tacos with no cheese. I asked for some hot sauce on the tacos and she said they are on the side, how many would I like. I said four. She pointed to the sign that said they charge 50 cents per sauce. The sign also said they give one sauce per taco, so what's the point in showing me the sign? DUH! Her whole vibe was really unpleasant to start. But whatever, I wasn't gonna let it get me down. So she hands me the bag and I can see there's cheese on the tacos. I tell her and she takes them to the back and starts to make me new ones, I hoped. I've seen lots of places just scrape the cheese off, so I asked her and she said they were new. So I stepped to the side of the counter and checked them out. She then, like bitches at me..."can you go and sit down." I was like what? She tells me I was blocking the window, which was total nonsense. I knew not to do that. I moved out of the way, completely out of the way, and over to the right of the counter. It was totally uncalled for. The cook starts to defend her telling me that they have seats for me to sit down and eat. I told him I wasn't staying, just checking out the tacos that they were right,, but that she was totally rude the way she yelled at me to leave the counter. BTW, I was already disgusted at the way this girl kept on wiping her mouth and then touching everything. Technically, she remade the tacos, not the cook, so that was really gross, her touching her mouth every two seconds and then handling my food. A little mom and pops place like this is nothing if they aren't nice to their customers. So, as much as I didn't really want to support Cactus (who took Henry's original spot), I'll just go across the street instead. I don't need to be treated like this. Not cool.

I always wanted to stop because, growing up in LA there were dozens of places like this everywhere. TacoTah -Funky retro fast food stands. I wanted to like this for the kitsch, but it sadly failed my lowered food expectations. Gringo tacos are appreciated for what they are... but these were very bad. The flour tortillas were cold and stiff (as if they were never warmed). The orange cheese had zero flavor. Salsa in a packet and a few sorry ass strings of iceberg. How they stayed in business so long in California is what I want to know? It would take no effort to improve this very limited menu. I can't imagine anyone eating here a second time.

Henry's Tacos. Wow I've been coming here since the early 70s. So super disappointing today. I ordered a taco burger with extra cheese and mustard, and three tacos. Almost $17. One thing that blows me away is that the tomato was about an eighth of an inch thick. Barely any meat or lettuce or cheese in everything I ordered. The hamburger buns are 4 inches big. I can't believe small amount of food they give you for the price. Taco burger is almost 6 dollars. And one more FYI, they give you one taco sauce per item. I asked for two extra taco sauce is they told me they were $.50 per taco sauce. Couldn't believe my ears. Anyway, prices went up and there taco shells size and there hamburger bun sizes are smaller and not made that well anymore. Very very sad situation at Henry's Tacos. I do not recommend going to Henry's tacos any longer.

This place is a must stop by if you're ever in taluka lake in San Fernando Valley because because their tacos are amazing amazing and you can actually taste the seasoning of the meat there is not one taco that I've tasted in California that tastes like a taco your mom would make with a good seasoning it just tastes like plain meat with no seasoning and there's no fun in that but this place has the best crunchy tacos also the taco burgers I always go out of my way to come here and I was in to look alike the other day and I drove way out of the way to come here because damn these are good always A smile when ordering you can't beat it so if you're anywhere near Henry's tacos stop by and if I'm near there I'll buy you your dinner because it's so damn good It's so good and the tacos are crunchy like mom used to make lol

Henry's has been a staple in Studio City for decades, as tastes evolve this food hasn't - same as it was in 1966. Gringo Mexican would best describe Henry's, it's good, nostalgic good. Zero ambiance. Service is always prompt.

The worst burrito I have ever had.... Taco might be better? Very very disappointed. The casher girl was not friendly, food is just like taco bell with overpriced. Meat was disgusting Wasted of money... I'm telling you it is a big mistake to go eat there

Henry's tacos has been around for a long time and I can understand why. No frills corner taco joint with a 5 item menu. I love hard shell ground beef tacos and these are great! I also had a bean and cheese burrito which was fantastic. Henry's tacos is exactly what you want. Really. Just simple delicious Tex mex! Can't wait to get back

Henry's not only offers some of the best tasting tacos around, but they do it all at an affordable price. The atmosphere is also laid back and welcoming, so it's the perfect spot for a quick bite with friends with out feeling rushed.

Not the same. I have fond memories of the old location. The new location is borderline moldy and unclean. The gal working as the cashier has a horrible attitude and evil vibes. I'm nolsstalgic for Henrys Tacos, but not enough great memories of the past can get me to eat there again.

I'm so happy this place didn't close! I was super bummed when I thought they were gone forever. Yummy cheap tacos and delicious taco burgers for a great price. Always great friendly service! A gem of the valley!

Same situation at the same location as my previous review. It seems that the exact same owners just went in a put back all the equipment, maybe not. There is still the same woman I believe behind the counter from the previous incarnation because I recently had the same "sauce" problem. Does she assume that when someone orders 4 or 5 items that they eat them all by themselves? Who knows? I bring them to a friends office to share so thus the need for 4 containers. I haven't been back after the last time I was there a few weeks ago because I'd rather go to a place where I can get an extra sauce container if I need it. This and they're still in competition with the more upbeat trendy place on the corner and the hundreds of other Taco spots around town.

Where to begin? Henry's is a family tradition and legend in our greater circle since the 1960 's. We skated there as kids and little has changed outside of its move across the street. Yet one thing is alarmingly different. The millennial indifference and arrogance of the cashier. Rude and disrespectful is what you can expect. Be loud and clear on your order and make sure you get what you asked for because if not, you will be ignored or dismissed. Too bad. It's otherwise a valley gem.

Est. 1961- In 2012, Henry's Tacos almost closed their doors forever, due to a landlord dispute. Somehow they survived and this third-generation, family run business is still IN business and feeding this sleepy little section of Studio City. The menu is simple: Tacos, Burritos, Tostadas, chili and cups of rice or beans. Tacos are soft or hard shell, ground beef only (with lettuce, cheese and tomato). Burritos are ground beef, rice and beans only. They also have an item called a Taco Burger, which is basically the fixings of a taco served in a burger bun. Everything is sold separately, a la carte. There are no combo plates, no fancy toppings or extras, no chips & salsa (only bags of tortilla & potato chips) and cash only. The service at the counter wasn't the friendliest in town but my food came out quickly and no one got hurt. The crunchy tacos were good and I would order them again. I'm glad Henry's has survived and continues to serve the community.

I've been coming to Henry's tacos my entire life and to see the state in which It is now is saddening. I can forgive certain things, like the rude cashier and price gouging on sauce and refills, but I can't reconcile the fact that the last three times I've been here the food has been horrible. The tortillas are moldy and taste like paint thinner. This is something that I used to go out of my way to get, but I can't deny reality in hopes that the quality gets better. Because of what Henry's tacos means to me, I'm not going to report them to the health board but somebody should. Don't eat here.

I've been going to Henry's whenever I'm in the area since it's original location (90s). It was a solid 4 stars, until my most recent visit 7/28/21, things have changed, and not for the better. 1. Drinks sizes have considerably shrunk. A "regular" is easily a small drink and a "large" is easily a medium. I asked for no ice on my drink, which was fine. My brother's "regular " waa 75% ice. What? 2. I ordered 4 combo burritos and the lady said she would only give me 1 hot sauce per burrito and will have to charge me per extra got sauce. Considering the two customers ahead of me looked like they both ordered only 1 item each, but was given 2 hot sauces without hesitation. What? The food is still good, but if you're going to do things to nickle and dime your customers, it might be time for me not to even pass by any longer.

Delicious, best tacos , tostadas... So good. Good service. Outdoor seating on Tujunga Ave. Studio City. So happy they are open.

I read a lot of reviews about this place and I didn't notice anything about girl upfront being rude. she was very professional and helpful. she also made me feel welcomed. now the customers on the other hand. that was a different story. if the cashier upfront had an attitude it was because the customer was rude. this place should be on Man ve Food because it is delish and reasonably priced!!! #ilovehenrystacos #andthesweetcashiertoo

We haven't been to henry''s Tacos in years. We decided to drop by to their new location across the street. Everything was just as delicious as we remembered. The man taking my order was super nice and the tacos were just as yummy as I remembered. We also had a meat burrito, bean burrito, soft taco and 2 Taco Burgers. I can't say enough how awesome this place is. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are nearby.

I wish I could give it ZERO STARS. WE ARE NOT EATING HERE AGAIN! We have been eating here for over ten years even when they lost their original place to Cactus Tacos (better choice). Today I ordered a regular burrito and it came with just beans and tortilla. When I went to the window to ask them add the missing items. The man got irate and said no one had ever returned a food item ever. I asked to please make it correctly- he yelled at me and took the burrito and threw it away and never gave me the correct burrito. Our family of six has been supporting this restaurant almost daily during the pandemic. NO MORE HENRY's WANNABE TACO BELL FOR US. From now on we will cross the street at Moorpark and Tujunga and EAT AT CACTUS TACOS!!!!

Used to ride our bikes over from the middle school down the street! Yea Henry's has been around for awhile. The hard shells are a better guality Taco Bell but I have to say the meat is fairly descent and surprisingly well seasoned. overall I prefer the soft tacos and I DIG! the taco burger!! CASH ONLY! ATM available. A Studio City staple and fun for a visit....

Not really sure what's up with all these positive reviews. The tacos are nothing special. Flour "tacos" are massive and resemble more of a burrito. Taste is pretty bland. I hate having to write reviews like this but with all the amazing mexican food in LA, there are better places to go. definitely nowhere near authentic. taco bell is better in my opinion. The lady taking our order was nice and the food was ready quick. That's about all the bright side i can find.
