"I've long known Henry’s Tacos as a Valley Mexican food staple and a decades-old destination for hard-shelled tacos, often seen as a friendly competitor to the Westside option Tito’s Tacos. Over the past few days it abruptly closed its service window with almost no notice: a notice purportedly from landlord Betty Joseph-Dearth dated March 28 declared the month-to-month tenancy at the location terminated and gave the tenant until April 3, 2022 to vacate; that paperwork was later removed and the window now bears a handwritten "LEASED" note while signage and the menu board have been taken down. Calls to the listed landlord went unanswered, ownership posted an update to social media after publication, and as it stands the 60-year-old restaurant has disappeared from its longtime Tujunga Avenue corner, leaving a large hole in the greater San Fernando Valley’s historic taco scene with no word yet on if or when it will return. This is not the first time Henry’s has faced a sudden move: in 2013 the restaurant was removed from its original corner and pushed up the block before reopening nearby." - Farley Elliott
