Los Angeles’s 2025 Michelin-Starred Restaurants, Mapped | Eater LA

"One star. Owned by siblings chef Phillip Pretty and Lauren Pretty, Heritage is the first Michelin star for the city of Long Beach, offering a $150 multi-course tasting menu (and $75 wine pairing) featuring California produce, meat, seafood, beer, and wine." - Eater Staff

"Set in a converted Craftsman in the historic Rose Park neighborhood, this inviting locale is  removed from the hustle and bustle of Long Beach. Brother-and-sister duo Philip and Lauren Pretty run the kitchen and front of house, respectively, curating an experience that’s relaxed, but gets the details just right. On offer is a single multicourse tasting (priced quite reasonably) that highlights top-notch ingredients, including produce sourced from their nearby farm. The cooking has a California accent, and seasonal fruit may form a common thread, as in preserved kumquats paired with roasted beet and impeccably cooked dry-aged duck breast, and yet again in the guise of a frozen yogurt, in a summery dessert of charred strawberries and herbaceous yuzu granita." - Michelin Inspector

Best Los Angeles Restaurants for Your Wedding Day, According to Eater Editors | Eater LA

"Chef Phil Pretty’s Michelin-starred restaurant has charm for days. Heritage is a remodeled Craftsman that he runs with his sister Lauren Pretty, and its menu rotates with produce from the Santa Monica farmers market, Long Beach-sourced seafood, and with local operators like Oh La Vache to supply the cheese selections. Heritage is an intimate space that’s good for a smaller gathering, but will easily result in well-fed guests with excellent wines. Check out its wedding and events website for more information." - Nicole Adlman

The 20 Best Restaurants In Long Beach - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Heritage is a relatively casual restaurant inside a converted house that offers a eight-course tasting menu for $150. We haven't encountered any wait for a table for two here, though you probably should book ahead if you plan on coming with a group. The rotating menu typically involves things like aged duck, perfectly charred octopus, and a creamy, fruit-topped pavlova. Regardless, you’ll spend more time here clinking glasses with friends than waiting for a server to finish over-explaining the next course (like you might at some other tasting menu spots in LA). If you're looking for a laid-back, special occasion restaurant that isn’t as overwhelming as the chain restaurants down along the waterfront, Heritage is a great call for dinner." - garrett snyder

The Best Restaurants For A Fancy Dinner In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Farm-to-table buzzwords usually read as pretentious. Not at Heritage in Long Beach. This seasonal American restaurant changes its tasting menu often, so you'll never be able to predict the specificities of your six-course meal here. But we'll tell you with confidence the food will turn anyone into a farmers market junkie. Imagine grilled diver scallop on a bed of sweet corn or toasted sunchoke ice cream—all served in an old converted Craftsman house that truly does feel like a neighborhood bistro. Heritage is perfect for keeping things low-key, but it's still special enough for an anniversary dinner or a quiet birthday meal." - brant cox, cathy park, sylvio martins
