The 13 Best Chinese Restaurants In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"This casual yet lively University Park restaurant specializes in hot pots—but not the d.i.y. kind. Instead, you select one of Hi Pot’s cauldrons filled with all sorts of texturally interesting things that cook at the table over portable gas burners. The Taiwanese supreme spicy hot pot—our favorite—includes over 20 ingredients like instant ramen and tofu puffs. If that sounds too busy, they also have simpler pots. But everything is customizable, including the broth’s spice level. The popcorn chicken and the stinky tofu—classic night market snacks—are must-order appetizers. Just make sure to leave room for tong sui, a refreshing dessert soup, especially the mango sago." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino

Hi Pot - Review - University Park - Miami - The Infatuation

"This casual yet lively spot is the only Taiwanese restaurant we’ve found in Miami. The University Park restaurant specializes in hot pots—but not the d.i.y. kind. Instead, you select one of Hi Pot’s cauldrons of boldly-seasoned broth filled with all sorts of texturally interesting things that cook at the table over portable gas burners. photo credit: Tasty Planet The Taiwanese supreme spicy hot pot—our favorite—includes over 20 ingredients like instant ramen and tofu puffs. If that sounds like too much, they also have simpler pots. But everything is customizable here, including the broth’s spice level. One cauldron can easily feed two hungry and/or hungover FIU students. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken and the stinky tofu—classic Taiwanese night market snacks—are must-order appetizers. Just make sure to leave room for tong sui, a light and refreshing dessert soup, especially the mango sago. Food Rundown photo credit: Tasty Planet Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Pot We don’t typically list every component in a dish, but you need to know just how many flavors and textures are going on here: sliced beef, Taiwanese cabbage, instant ramen, meltingly soft beef tendon, enoki mushrooms, tempura crunchies, Fuzhou fish balls, clams, squid rings, custardy pork blood cakes, fried tofu skin, tea trea mushrooms, tofu, surimi, meatballs, pickled mustard greens, tofu puffs, cilantro, scallion, and the most tender and cleanest-tasting pork intestines we’ve ever tried. All of this is swimming in a broth so bold and flavorful it could even turn that puddle in your front yard delicious. Lamb Hot Pot This hot pot isn't as busy as the supreme spicy one, but it’s still an orgy of textures. The thinly sliced lamb has a pleasant gaminess without tasting like a zoo and combines beautifully with the preserved mustard greens. The broth really enhances all the ingredients in this hot pot—from the mushrooms to the different types of tofu—but especially tastes like the liquid soul mate to the pork blood cakes. Stinky Tofu There are different levels of funkiness to this Taiwanese delicacy depending on how long it’s been aged. The type they use at Hi Pot is on the milder side but still flavorful enough to dispel any notion that tofu is always bland. It’s fried until crispy and smothered in a chili sauce, which mellows the tofu’s pungency a bit without masking it. As for the tofu itself, the flavor reminds us of ripe cheese in the best way possible. Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken Hi Pot’s Taiwanese popcorn chicken is a crowd-pleaser and will ruin you for American-style popcorn chicken. It is the crispiest, crunchiest popcorn chicken you will ever have, and it will stay that way for a while, so you don’t need to inhale it like a foie gras goose. It’s also sprinkled with a combination of chili and five spice powders. You don’t need any sauce with it, but we won’t judge if you dunk it into the accompanying ketchup. photo credit: Tasty Planet Mango Sago This is under the Special Dessert section of the menu, which consists of a handful of tong sui dessert soups. They’re all deliciously refreshing after a boiling hot cauldron of broth. They also make for a great snack in the middle of a hot summer day (i.e. all but three weeks out of the year). The mango sago tong sui strikes that perfect balance between light and creamy and consists of sweetened milk with slippery sago pearls, slices of ripe mango, and little scoops of rich egg custard. It will make you rethink soups as a solely savory dish." - Carlos C Olaechea

The service and restaurant is comfy and nice. I stopped recommending this restaurant my 3rd time dining there. The food and drinks are changing- more like the recipes, the spicy beef doesn’t hit the same (as in the taste) the drinks are watered down. I have not ordered as often as I did, in the past. Now when I do I’m reminded exactly why I stopped. Please do better, I miss being a satisfied customer.

Google
5 Stars! Absolutely loved this Taiwanese hot pot place! The ingredients were super fresh, the soup base was rich and flavorful, and the portion size was generous for the price. It’s hard to find such great quality at such a reasonable cost—definitely amazing value for money. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you’re craving a satisfying and authentic hot pot experience!

After a visit at the Frost Art Museum at FIU we needed lunch. The shopping center on 107th has a variety of places. We decided to give this a try. It was worth it. The decor is kind of weird, representative of a past tenant, maybe a Greek restaurant. It's a hot pot restaurant, but diners get an individual "pot" rather than the communal pot in other similar restaurants. Service was good, but a little bit slow as every order seemed to be assembled individually. It was not a long wait, and well worth it. My husband had a beef hot pot; mine was lamb - medium spice; it was a bit above my spice level, but I enjoyed. The dishes are topped with rice noodles that you have to stir in to quickly cook. Lots of meat, tofu, vegetables, and other ingredients. I did not that quail eggs, a favorite, are add-ins; I'll add them next time. Service was just great. The servers took time to talk to everyone and explain their food. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy. We'll add this to the list of post-museum eateries.

The appetizers were really good. We had the fried shrimp shumai. The vegetable spring rolls. And we each had our own type of hot pot. I thought it was pretty good. The food was very appealing. It was my first time there, and I thought that the broth was really delicious. I had the kimchi hot pot . There was dumplings , shrimp, cabbage, eggs, noodles. It was a lot. I can definitely see myself going back there.

Google
The front service was great, but the kitchen was a bit slow. The appetizers were enjoyable, even the stinky tofu, and the bubble tea exceeded expectations for a restaurant. The hot pot portions were huge and my favorite of all was the full cup jelly milk tea.

Google
Great restaurant to learn more about the Taiwanese cuisine through a hot pot style dinner. We got the octopus, stinky tofu and 2 soups (that could easily feed more than 1 person even if hungry). In addition the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Will definitely come back to taste other soups!

Google
Delicious Taiwanese comfort food, gracefully served by the friendliest waitstaff. Bubble tea is also delicious. If you’re hungry you will be so, so happy, as the food is generous!

Yelp
I love HiPot and have been coming here for a long time, and the food is great. But my last experience here was not my favorite -- I ordered the #8 Thai Tom yum hotpot which said came with a seafood variety of mussels, shrimp, baby octo, and calamari. There was plenty of calamari, but I failed to find a single piece of either baby octopus or shrimp. Mussels there were only two. Service was fine; I wish the staff came by to check on my food so I could've mentioned my earlier issue. I didn't even have my water refilled unfortunately. Overall, i've always trusted HiPot and loved their food but this last visit was pretty disappointing.

Yelp
It's nice to have a legit hotpot place around Miami, a city that's pretty lacking in good Asian food. My wife and I came here late on a Saturday ever driving back from the Keys and had a nice dinner before getting home. Unfortunately, they didn't have any of the stinky tofu left that we wanted to get as an appetizer, but the beef and lamb hot pots we had were filling and tasty. The each came with their own personal pot over a little fire loaded with the right amount of fuel to keep it running through most of the dinner. The portions of meat in each were the most impressive part of the meal, they really do not skimp on the sliced beef or lamb. Each pot was put together nicely with a good assortment of meat, veggies, tofu, noodles, and other fillings like fish cakes or mushrooms etc, and topped up with a tasty meaty broth. The place is on the smaller side so it has a chill and relaxed vibe, but service was still attentive and pretty prompt. In a city that does not have a ton of great Asian food, it's nice to have Hi Pot around as a reliable and affordable hot pot joint.

Yelp
Very good service. All the servers were nice and attentive even though they had a full house. The hot pot is flavorful and full of toppings. Only downside is that some pieces are not chewable (octopuses and beef) Good boba, but a tiny bit too sweet for me.

Yelp
If you want an authentic hot pot in Miami then this is the place. If you want it spicy, then this is the place. This place offers all kinds of hot pots. Whether you like beef, lamb, seafood or vegetarian, you can't go wrong with any of their piping hot concoctions. Each hot pot is prepared to your liking and served tableside. I love their Thai Tom Yum Hot Pot with pork slices and also the Sichuan Spicy Pot which will definitely surprise your mouth with spicy bold flavors. They also offer street food style appetizers like Tokoyaki, Calamari, Baby Octopus Salad and my favorite, the Spicy Stinky Tofu. I highly recommend it if you're brave enough. LOL Love this place. Service is good, the place is small but very comfortable, the food is the real deal, and also plenty of parking. If you're on a budget and want something hearty, come here hungry.

Yelp
The food is specializing in hi pot. They are so delicious. There are many options to choose from. The service is top notch, our server is so friendly. The lightening is good with plenty of parking. The wall paper is nice with many paintings on the wall.

Yelp
Pros: new favorite ramen spot by FIU. The broth was delicious, they gave me so much tofu, I was stuffed. The locale was clean and the service was great. There is also tons of free parking. Cons: they were busy so it took a while to get my order, but once it was placed service was super fast. Will definitely return.

Yelp
i saw the reviews for this place on yelp and figured i'd give it a shot, i would give this place a 2.5 if i could. The broth was pretty flavorful, but some of the items that were listed on the menu were simply not in the soup at all like the actual noodles lol. We also got some calamari which wasn't too bad, but it wasn't great either. Our server seemed really stressed. I almost felt bad asking him for things but he was pretty nice and they were pretty packed for a Tuesday night. The vibes were very DIY not sure what the theme was, but I was Vibin with the music. We got the curry hot pot and although it brought a lot of things, we shared it and felt pretty unsatisfied and there also wasn't that much broth which I think all my fellow soup enthusiast understand is the whole reason for a hot pot. I would probably not come back here again, but I wouldn't say I hate this place. I would just say it's like a mid experience for hot pot. totally forgot to mention we ended up getting some Boba at the end of our meal as we were still craving food and our tapioca was so hard. I'm like currently spitting out the little balls as we speak, the brown sugar milk tea was good though, but the Taro tasted like dirty water.

Yelp
Can you really say is traditional hot pot? If your going to introduce stinky tofu hot pot then you should do it instead of giving that type of tofu. Also what is with the portion of the tofu since thats kind of ridiculous. Also the other ingredients don't seem to be fresh. End up getting stomach aches after. Been to many hot pot places and i suggest they need to improve on a lot of things here. Even the service is slow and doesn't seem to care that much. The Ambiance is also kind of odd. They should learn somethings from other hot pot places like boiling point and others.

Yelp
This is a Taiwanese Hot Pot place in the FIU area. The menu can look a little overwhelming if you're not used to it , however they are of high quality. I had the Thai Tom Yum bowl, it had beef, mussels, seafood, portions are large! Service was good and explained the options to us. It was quiet on a Saturday afternoon. I'd say you get your money's worth with the big tasty portions they serve up here. Worth trying!
google avatar

Yelp
Holy what? This place is absolutely delicious.! The servings are huge. The service was great. Also what you expect and good but the star is really the hot pot. Unlike traditional locations where you serve a bunch of things to cook yourself, they serve the bowls already premade with the items then and then light them up so that they can cook further. It's still active, but my opinion better because I'm not actually cooking, just eating and enjoying the flavors. I highly recommend coming with a very eager appetite!!

Harry R.

Yelp
Came back after a while, and now it seems like a completely different place. Food portion is so small with very little beef/ lamb in it. the pot was filled with a huge amount of either cabbage, or corn on the cobb. They even ran out of the sticky pot soup base. Oh did I say the rice was half cooked? The service was fine. The menu is so old and damage that you can not tell what the dish was. One toilet was out of the service so that was not nice.

Yelp
Dear Kevin, you were our server - Amazing & Thank you for service and patience. Today I went there with 4 friends and it was delicious. The hot pots & ramen, the boba drinks, dessert, and the atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone. My apologies for not taking pictures.

Yelp
Delicious food, knowledgeable and helpful employees! What a great spot for hotpot! Highly recommend

Yelp
If you haven't tried Taiwanese food, you have to hit up this spot in Tamiami! The bowls are a must try and could definitely be shared by 2. Which means...more room for apps and dessert. The takoyaki will satisfy your craving for fried goodness, and the spicy cumin lamb is great with rice! The baby octopus sauce is a bit slimy, but I heard that's how it's supposed to be. Lastly, I HAVE to end (or start hehe) with the mango sago. You can expect quick service except on busy nights. They are usually nice about modifications, like getting meats on the side instead of in the bowl. Which, I really appreciate! Overall, it's a nice place to hangout with friends and eat yum-yum foods! Check it out if you're in the area :)
google avatar

Becky L.

Yelp
Came here to eat with family, and I love that we all can get individual pots to fit our own tastes. The pots can be pretty sizable, especially since the broth can fill you up, so I ended up sharing a Thai Tom Yum Hot Pot with another person. With each hot pot, you choose the spicy level you want and they each come with a bowl of rice. The Thai Tom Yum had plenty of veggies like cabbage, taro, enoki, mushroom, in addition to the protein (pork, fish ball, shrimp, clam, octopus). The broth was flavorful and as with every hot pot place, there are sauces you can add as well. The prices were pretty decent (most of the hot pot options were $15-20 each, only the seafood lobster was closer to $30), and if you share a pot, it's even cheaper. Service was pretty attentive and parking is widely available since it's in a plaza. Would definitely come here again if I'm craving individual hot pot but don't want the size and prices of a buffet.

Yelp
Really great food and service! Fresh and delicious, with plenty of ways to customize your dish! Our server, Kevin, was wonderful and did a great job in making sure that our first visit was perfect. I'll definitely be back soon!

Hailey H.

Yelp
The food is so good, and the portions is huge, we ordered the beef hot pot and popcorn chicken, they both are super yummy, service is good and fast, highly recommend !

Dan R.

Yelp
I feel bad even writing this because we couldn't properly give the restaurant a chance given the state of the entire place. We walked in and the place was a mess. Left over food from prior guests that had clearly been sitting there for quite some time. The floors were slimy. We sat in the corner and it looked like the floors and windows hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, left over food and dead insects. We're no experts in restaurant cleanliness.. it shows if you can't keep the floors and tables clean, you're clearly not cleaning the kitchen. Makes you think of the state of things back there and it grossed us out. We ended up walking out and cancelling our order.
google avatar

Phoebe A.

Yelp
My friend and I really enjoyed our hot pot dishes here. We got the beef hot pot and the tom yum hot pot - both of which were stuffed with fresh meat and veggies. We also got the popcorn chicken and pork belly appetizers, both of which were delicious. Service was a bit slow, but that seems to largely be because of how busy the place was.

Luis G.

Yelp
To start, the environment was very welcoming, amazing vibes. Servers were very attentive. Hot pot was delicious, ramen was up to par. My girl LOVED the Takoyaki. We had taro milk tea and mango milk tea which was superb. We definitely recommend trying this place out.
google avatar

Tricia K.

Yelp
This review is for bubble tea only. We ordered the following: Taro milk tea with 25% sugar & herbal jelly Passionfruit green tea with lychee jelly Passionfruit green tea with 50% sugar & sago Taro smoothie with sago I haven't seen sago at any other bubble tea place. I was also glad that we could control the sugar. Everyone left happy!

Yelp
Holy Ramen!! This place is authentic and delicious. The portions are. Dry very big, almost shareable but great for left overs. Service is prompt and I loved all the fixings that they bring on the side and you add as you go. Not my first visit and most definitely will lot be my last!
google avatar

Jeanie H.

Yelp
Hi Pot exceeded my expectations! Hot pot is pretty rare in Miami so I was pleasantly surprised. We started off with the takoyaki--pretty good but wish there were more pieces of octopus inside. The beef hot pot was great. The broth is very flavorful with a deep, rich flavor. They do NOT skimp on the meat. The veggies are fresh for the most part but the taro is definitely not fresh--weird texture. They also have boba which is good too!
google avatar

Kalvin K.

Yelp
I love me some Taiwanese hot pot. In fact, this is the third Hi Pot I have been to in Florida. Unfortunately this seemed to be the dirtiest and most run down location too. The food itself was very good but temperature was a little cold, and the service was adequate. The location itself is dark and dirty inside. It can definitely detract diners from entering. Still if you're in the area, the eats are good.
google avatar

Vancy S.

Yelp
The grapefruit green tea was refreshing with just a hint of sugar. The hot pot broth was incredible and filled with thin slices of beef, fish fillet, wood ear mushroom, glass noodles and more! The portion was huge and it was one order. I could have fed 3 people lol. The staff was friendly. Overall highly recommend delicious Taiwanese hot pot here.
google avatar

Julia S.

Yelp
FOOD The hot pot was a 5/5 I got the curry (lowkey just for the egg roe fishball) and they let me sub the pork for beef with no extra charge. I thought I'd get tired of the curry, but there was actually so much umami and there flavors underlying the curry that I enjoyed it very much. I thought the price for add onswas a little much ($3-$6 for additional add ons) and so I just kept my pot as is. I finished all of it and definitely left pretty full. I also got 3/5 spicy and didn't think it was spicy (but I have a high spice tolerance). The mango sago was a 4/5 just because there wasn't that much actual mango in it. However it's hard to find this dish anywhere in Miami! If you like boba, you'll like this :) SERVICE 3/5 Food came out fast. However, the waiters didn't attend to us really even though there was only one other party. You may need to go up to the counter if you need something. AMBIANCE Not cute and trendy, but who's complaining. Great food

Yelp
I was in the mood for a good soup. I came across this place on Google and they had decent reviews so I decided to check it out. I won't lie.. when I walked in to the place seemed kinda sketch. The menu items were even throwing me off, but I already sat down. I did tell the server I was nervous to order he was so nice to explain the different soups and which items were his fave. I went with the curry hi-pot and WOW! Yum! My bf went with the Kawawa ramen which was also really good. My FAVORITE item was their new pork dumplings with gyoza sauce.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place for a good quality healthy meal. Service by Younes was great. Very attentive to our order and Geri g us the best dishes. Ladies you will get a treat meeting him. Will try the HiPot in the Pines. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for many years. It is located by FIU. The place offers so many options for the hot pot, ramens and boba teas. This hot pot is an individual hot pot with ingredients already cooked inside so do not mistake with the one that you have to cook the raw ingredients in the broth on your own. I usually ordered their lamb hot pot but I thought I will give Stinky Tofu hot pot a try. I ordered their flaming spicy which is really good if you love spicy food. You get so many things in your hot pot and the price was really reasonable too. I always have to take half of my hot pot home because it is really a big portion, good to share with a friend. My hot pot was a little bit greasy this time and too much oil in it. I had to add more chicken broth to make less greasy for my leftover hot pot at home. Their boba drinks are tasty as well. I got their full cup of jelly milk tea and it was really good. You get different type of jellies plus red beans in the drink. The service got better since they had some turnover with the employees.
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
As a Taiwanese American, I have never tasted the stinky tofu hot pot until today. It was very delicious and suitable for the recent chilly weather. The beef hot pot was also great. For all the hotpots, you can choose the spicy levels from none, mild, medium, very spicy, and flaming spicy. I ordered medium and it wasn't very spicy at all. While I was eating the hotpot, I felt like digging into a treasure chest, every bite had a different ingredient. The appetizer salt & pepper popcorn chicken was on point delicious. The spicy stinky tofu wasn't stinky but did taste fermented. Most of the customers I saw today were Asian, I guess the "Stinky tofu" scares many people away.
google avatar

Billy N.

Yelp
All of the tasty flavors in a hotpot! Specially with the year round blasting of AC, ain't nothing like a big pot of boiling spicy soup to cut through the coolness of AC! The flavors are incredible and the portions are huge! We were visiting the Miami area from Portland and knew we wanted something filling after our massage and before our Segway tour and we're glad we found that at Hi Pot! The Thai flavor hot soup with maximum spice levels hit every spot. In particular, the juicy, meaty, and filling spots. Thanks Hi Pot!
google avatar

Ed W.

Yelp
Awesome Taiwanese restaurant. The hot pot concept is very traditional in oriental cooking and here at Hi Pot is done really well. Be very careful when having these soup base dishes... they are extremely hot . When you order they will ask you for spicy level... I had the beef pot, spicy and it was spicy but not to crazy. You can still taste all ingredients and not just a hot sauce. The soup is actually a big size that you can have for 1 person... but definitely a shareable item if having a few things from the menu. Service was perfect, attentive but not intrusive. Very friendly. Definitely a great choice. I'll be coming back to try different things. (The seafood pot looks good) Prices for most main course dishes are like $13 to $18
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
Amazing food! You get to choose a pot of your own. Also the owner is very friendly and interactive. A place I would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Jenny M.

Yelp
Second time dining in and third time eating their food. I am not going to lie, the day we decided to order to go, I didn't notice that their spicy food is practically body numbing hahahaha. I ordered one of their dumpling soups and my soul left my body momentarily hahahaha. So today I tried their Cheese Milk Hot Pot and it was definitely Yummers!! Of course I ordered with no spice; sorry my bod just can't handle spice :(. My partner in crime ordered their beef hot pot with mild spice, he loved it. Only warning.... be very careful when biting into the egg, that sucker will squirt out the lava yolk .
google avatar

Hadi K.

Yelp
I came here with my Taiwanese wife and mother in-law as a surprise and they were impressed by the authenticity and taste of the food overall They waiter was friendly and helpful. The place isn't the best looking and the ambiance isn't the best r you'll go to but the price and food quality more than make up for it. Would come back here .

Yelp
Hi Pot in Pembroke Pines is usually our go-to but we decided to stop by this location. The food was on the bland side today but nothing a little side sauce couldn't fix. You can't really go wrong with hot pot. Service was decent I will cut slack since they seemed short staffed with a very large party in. The ambiance is a little different from the other location it's darker. Also, note the restaurant was running low on menus so looking online may be a better option.

Philip M.

Yelp
The Ramen noodles were phenomenal Absolutely phenomenal Hailey came to my table, she's from northern China. I told her I don't eat meat, but can I get more vegetables and less noodles. "No problem" she said just let us know how you like it. The ambience was great, nice music! Well anybody who wants a great dining experience- Here it is!

Yelp
We were already in the Chipotle parking lot but I was craving some hot pot, instead. Hi pot was the nearest place I could find, and so we went, not expecting much. It's a small place in a strip mall. The food came out extremely fast and the service is good. It tastes absolutely delicious. We couldn't stop eating. My friend that has never had hot pot before LOVED it and was groaning at every bite. We both love the experience and the delicious food. We will definitely be coming back. (Edit: this type of food is not for everyone. You have to be extremely open to trying foreign foods. I recommended it to my friends and they didn't like it, but that's okay. They only like chicken nuggets and burgers. Do with this what you will. Happy eating:)

Yelp
I am no hot pot connoisseur - this was so delicious!Great servings for a great price. We started with the takoyaki that was great. This place is a spot to go for some comfort food and casually. We ordered the cheese milk hot pot and the curry hot pot and both were delicious and full of so much flavor. You can easily share one amongst two people with massive appetite. Only other place I have had hot pot was in Singapore and this beat it although it isn't you're regular experience.

Yelp
I went to Hi Pot after a cousin of mine told me about this type of food. If I'm not mistaken, it's a type of Taiwanese soup that you place on a "stove top." Basically, you choose through a booklet of different soups and the soup is brought to you on a metal stove top. This soup is basically heated throughout the entire time you eat it. If you don't like hot soup, this isn't the place for you. I tried the kimchi dumpling soup. It has a lot of things that I was not familiar with, especially Kimchi ( it was my first time trying it!). The taste of the soup was great, but the cabbage with the kimchi was a bit too sour for my palette. I would definitely go again and try another soup, because it is a unique experience. Also, this soup was only 14$ and it has A LOT of toppings. Make sure you come hungry---also it comes with a side of free white rice so that was a bonus. I love rice with soup!

Yelp
Really great food! Loved the preset single serve hot pots--great variety of food in each pot and the flavors were spectacular! My family got the Beef Hot Pot, Japanese Miso Hot Pot, and the Sichuan Spicy Hot Pot. Enjoyed all 3. Would definitely be back for more!

Yelp
First time venturing into Taiwanese hot pot and I'm really happy I did. This was everything I was craving on this particularly cold Miami night. I love that this is literally a hot pot where they serve it to you on a flamed pot at your table. It keeps the broth and contents hot inside as you pour yourself your portions at a time. I appreciate this because I love my soups super hot. We went with the beef pot and it was more like a surf and turf. You will find pieces of clams, fish cakes, and such inside. Honestly at times I really didn't even know what I was eating, pardon my lack of knowledge in the culture's food, but all I can say it was tasty, hot, and the broth brought new life back into me. We added some noodles. I heard the ramen is pretty awesome too. I really enjoyed this adventurous eating and we will be back. The pot fills 2 people just nicely. And the price is great too!

Yelp
Well, came to HiPot for an early dinner with my beautiful daughter who loves Asian food more than any other food, as we walked in we saw a completely empty restaurant, we were greeted by a waitress sitting down in a table by the kitchen then she told me to choose a table and I did. I sat down and my daughter sat down and the waitress came by and brought two glasses of water and handed us two menus, then disappeared. I looked for her and she was back at her table by the kitchen "sitting down" again, so I read through the whole menu which took about 20 minutes and my waitress was still not available "because she was busy sitting down on her phone" a few more minutes passed and she finally decided to look up and came to the table to ask "ready to order" I asked if there were any specials and there wasn't any, so I ordered food for me and my daughter. My daughter had a bubba tea which arrived relatively fast, I ordered two appetizers and soup for my daughter however I asked to replace the pork belly in the soup for chicken which I was told it would be OK, several minutes later a lady other than our waitress came over to tell us that "there wasn't any chicken for the soup" not a big deal so we ordered with shrimp instead. The soup also came to the table pretty fast after we chose the shrimp as the protein. The food overall was very good, the appetizers were nice but the soup (ramen noodle) was definitely the star of the experience, it was made with a delicious miso broth and several vegetables a total success. So while eating I realized I'd used my napkin (disposable) and needed a few more, so naturally I turned around to look for my waitress. Yes you probably guessed it right "she was sitting in the usual table by the kitchen but this time on a very loud phone call, I stared at her until she finally acknowledged me and while still on her very loud phone all she realized I needed her so I picked up my napkin and made hand gestures to make her understand that I needed more, she understood and while still on her very loud phone all she reached over to the counter, grabbed a few napkins and quickly came over to place them on my table however she was still on the phone with the very loud phone call. As soon as I finished my appetizer and while my daughter was still in the middle of her soup, the waitress who by this time was thankfully finished with her call came over and dropped the check and went back to the table by the kitchen to again "burry her head into the phone" sheesh, I wrote this entire review waiting for her to acknowledge the fact that I had placed my credit card on the check presenter and was ready to pay which took 20 minutes! So here is my take. Food is good, not excellent but definitely good. Service is mediocre. Upselling is key to a restaurants success, coming to the table to ask if "everything is ok" is key! Asking if dessert would be wanted or selling it would be beneficial to the restaurant but not only that. (I always eat desert 100% of the times when it's offered I order it! That's that, just got acknowledgment and paying for my check, I guess I'll have dessert somewhere else

Yelp
There's a spot on my eye, I think it's an EYE SPOT I threw out my baby's bed, and then I yelled BYE COT I wanted some Boba and my friends said WHY NOT So we went and got some Boba from this place called HI POT WHAT! Perfectly named for stoners, because after all, you can get pretty Hi on Pot am I right. If I was judging this milk tea by national standards it might be a three or four star but when you consider that it's in Miami which is a town full of substandard boba drinks, and when you consider that the service here is nothing short of amazing and that the the Milk tea is actually pretty good, despite the fact that the place is mainly focused on making food, then I have to have give it the 5-star rating that it deserves... plus the people here were beyond friendly and went out of their way to make me feel like I had everything I needed, even though I was only coming here for drinks. So one of the better barber shops (I mean Boba shops but I bet they'd cut your hair too if you asked) in Miami, but as you know if you've read my other Boba reviews, that really isn't saying much. The Bubble tea is pretty good, and the service is really nice. Lovely decor and I'm looking forward to coming back for stuff other than bubble tea, because the place is famous for food rather than the Boba, which is what I came for. Admittedly it wasn't my favourite, but it was pretty tasty, and I will definitely come back and try some of the highly rated food here. And it's run by really nice people. Anyway it's time to say Bye Pot.

Yelp
It's a little far from my house, but anyway I will come back. Everything is so tasty .The pot are large for a very reasonable price. They use a very large quantity of ingredients who really give the authentic feeling. I definitely recommend it.

Yelp
$13.99 starting price for hot pot is unheard of in South Florida! There are more than 10 options for the broths and each comes with many ingredients. I have tried the Beef and the Taiwanese broths before. Both are delicious! The ingredients, which are listed in the menu, are served in the broth in the hot pot already. Everything is cooked already but it's nice to let the ingredients soak in for a bit to marinate with the broth. My favorite was the Taiwanese beef broth (mild spicy) $17.99. It was a bigger hot pot than the $13.99 servings. I could not finish everything. I had to pack the food to go because it was simply too much food. The beef slices were never ending, it's as if the staff gave a generous amount. The broth was delicious, not too salty, just right. For dessert, my favorite is the brown sugar soybean pudding dessert with peanuts, red beans, and little clear balls. I think they are called sago? It's not as "authentic" as the ones in Taiwan, but still, for Miami, this was great. I loved it! Parking can be tricky at times because a lot of businesses are in the same plaza. Some of the spaces are small. It's recommended to make a reservation for the restaurant because it can get super packed towards the night. You don't want to be waiting forever, especially if you have a date with you. I highly recommend this restaurant. The price is amazing, the portions are generous, service is fast and efficient, food is delicious, and the vibe is awesome. I actually love that this isn't a buffet-style hot pot because a lot of those places charge more than $25/person and not everyone can eat so much. And you can take leftover food to go, whereas other hot pot restaurants won't allow it.

Yelp
Plenty of hotpot bowl options. The only negative was the service.. hard to get a table, menus, order, or the check. Service 3/5 and food 5/5 so 4/5 overall. Tried the lamb hotpot and the stinky tofu hotpot. Both were flavorful and packed with fresh tasting ingredients. The regular spicy tasted like a light mild compared to other hotpot places so I would recommend getting a spicier level than usual.

Yelp
Visited today after reading the reviews. I have to say: Expected good, I got great. What HUMONGOUS amount of food. Service was great, the ambiance was like visiting a welcoming house. Well worth the time. Don't even think about it. Try it!
