We were here Friday lunch with no wait time. Parking was free at the car wash parking lot nearby. Atmosphere was great and place was clean and tidy. Food wise, sushi is literally as fresh as you can get and best in town hands down and if you’re a salmon or toro lover, this is definitely the spot! We had about 5 different kinds of toro and 2 different kinds of salmon. The seared salmon belly is my favorite, it tasted like melted butter! Chef Jason is welcoming and personable. He consistently delivers top notch quality and hospitality, and the prices are more than fair for what you get. I can’t recommend enough and will be back again and again :)

Amazing hand rolls and sushi! My favorite was the spicy scallop hand roll. I got to meet the owner Jason, who gave fantastic service and the cashier Tiffany was very friendly and helpful! Must try and will definitely be coming back again.

I don't post a review unless it positively changes my life. Hikari is about 6 months old and Chef Jason is killin' it! He just got bluefin tuna in and was breaking it down so he served me a flight of bluefin with salmon, squid, yellowtail, shrimp, and more. I love it!

If you want a one of a kind Omakase experience here in the twin cities, this is definitely the spot! Sushi chef Jason is truly a master with 20 years of experience. He has the freshest ingredients and skills, which you won’t find very often in the Midwest. I would compare him to top chefs from LA, Vegas, NYC and even Tokyo. Ask him for the Omakase experience and you won’t be disappointed. This place is truly a new gem that the twin cities needed. Catch Chef Jason on the weekends here.

Located in the eat street crossing food hall. Lots of seating available. Parking is ok with their free lot but the area is a little hard to get to. Every aspect of the sushi is done very well! I was really was impressed with the quality, texture and flavor of the rice. Its fluffy and soft. The fish pieces are large, melt in your mouth and flavorful. This place has tuna belly (churo toro) which is uncommon to see and find! Rivaling the selection of Chef Baaska and Billy sushi but more accessible to the average person. In the future, I hope they will offer a chef’s choice nigiri flight. This quality of fish could shine in a nigiri. The rolls are large and a good price. The salmon hand roll has full intact pieces which in my opinion is better than the minced fish. My favorite was hirkari roll followed by the salmon hand roll. The owner Jason is very nice and passionate about his food. Sitting at the bar and talking with him is a really a true Japanese experience!

We asked what the chef recommended and he suggested the off-menu tuna flight. We also ordered the hikari roll and a few simple hand rolls. The food was amazing. We went to Japan recently and have been wanting some higher quality sushi places that don’t always break the bank. This place was it. The tuna flight melts in your mouth and is served at a pleasant temperature. Hikari roll was great, this chef does not cheap out on the fish. Everything is loaded. 100/10 would be back. So much more to try. The vibes were immaculate too.

The location is sketchy. The place is actually nice and they have other food to try inside. It is just where it is located. The service was great. The sushi was okay, I think they are still working on it. It needs more crunchy in it, and more variety. The fish was fresh and each roll had great amount of protein. Big rolls. I'll try it again to see if they improve. Not bad! Go try it.

Dragon roll was as expected but the three rolls were nearly all mayo and imitation crab. Rainbow roll is supposed to be on a Cali roll and it was 95% imitation crab. Picture is of the rainbow roll. Sexy dragon was all Mayo and more imitation crab. Audi had good spice from the jalapeño but again Mayo and imitation crab. Was super weird and a waste of $90. Self service kind of place which was fine. Great atmosphere though 😅

Yelp
A new hand roll bar has opened in Minnesota!! Located in Eat Street Crossing (great location with other restaurants in the food hall). When I went there, it was still soft opening so, it was not as busy yet. The worker was super friendly and informative. My friend and I got the spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, spicy crab and scallop hand roll. The worker informed us to eat it right away, or the seaweed would get soggy. I would say each roll is very simple and basic but that's what I like about it. It will definitely fill you up quickly. Each roll was stuffed and kept me very full. I was only able to eat two hand rolls before getting full. My favorites are the salmon and spicy crab. I'll def want to come back and try more out!

Yelp
Eat Street Crossing's food court has Hikari which is known for their hand rolls and they are good! It was fun getting to know Jason, one of the chefs, as he talked about the restaurant and his knowledge in sushi. I liked the spicy scallop handroll which is a popular one. I also had a 6 piece premium sushi order that was a treat if you like toro. They ran out of uni but he added extra toro on top which was awesome. The premium sushi is pricey but the fish is high quality.

Yelp
I tried the Sexy Salmon Roll. It was 8 pieces for $20--so the price was extreme to me. The service was good. My husband and I went for a late lunch on a weekday afternoon, and we were served promptly. Although, I do have to say that the pieces are bigger than usual. Overall, it was decent sushi. Due to the pricing, I would have a hard time deciding which rolls I wanted, but I'm glad they have a home at Eat Street Crossing.

Yelp
This sushi restaurant is located in Eat Street crossing foodhall. We walked into the building and I saw a familiar face. I didn't know my friend is now working at this place. I asked him to make me a poke bowl, one with rice for my friend and for me veggies. This restaurant is known for their hand rolls and sushi. The poke bowl he made me was delicious.

Yelp
Have been back several times and can say that quality and service is consistently stellar. Chef Jason and his team take great care in using fresh ingredients and provide wonderful service. New favorites are the toro handroll when available and the sexy salmon roll. Great ambiance and love that there are many seating options in the food hall. A fun place to go with friends and family!

Yelp
Hikari Handroll Bar has become my go-to sushi spot in Minneapolis, and for good reason. Jason's passion for quality shines through in every hand roll--fresh, well-balanced, and packed with flavor. With top-tier imported seafood, great prices, and consistently warm, welcoming service, every visit feels special. Whether it's a birthday celebration or just an excuse to return, I'm always impressed. If you love sushi, don't hesitate--give this place a shot. Minneapolis has been waiting for a spot like this for a long time.

Yelp
Hikari Hand Roll is a brand new sushi/hand roll spot inside of Eat Street Crossing. I love sushi and have struggled to find good quality sushi that is even somewhat affordable in the Twin Cities, and this place definitely delivers on both counts. I went with a friend and we tried the Hikari sushi roll, which for $22 is sizeable and packed to the brim with fresh sushi-grade fish. We also tried the sexy salmon roll, which was packed with spicy ahi and topped with buttery salmon slices, and the scallop hand roll, which chef told me he imports directly from Hokkaido, Japan. I got to talking with Chef Jason and was blown away by his passion for sushi and providing good quality dishes for his customers. They are in a soft opening stage right now with a grand opening next month, and I will DEFINITELY be back!

Yelp
Chef Jason did an amazing job delivering fresh hand rolls bursting with flavor, freshness and quality. The over atmosphere was fun and upbeat! Will definitely come again. Recommend the spicy scallop hand roll, spicy salmon and tuna!

Yelp
Unreal! We had four rolls, and they were all impeccable and just filled to the brim with fresh, flavorful fish. Hikari quickly became our favorite sushi shop in Minneapolis. We will absolutely be back with friends and you should go too!

Yelp
Everything we had was amazing!! Got uni on toro, spicy scallop, spicy crab, yellowtail, eel hand roll and seared fatty tuna.

Yelp
If you haven't been to Hikari Hand Roll Bar, do you even like sushi?? This place is fantastic! Hands down the best hand rolls I've ever had. So fresh and so flavorful and they don't skimp on the fish. The staff is super friendly and the vibe is on point. Give this place a try if you haven't already. You'll love it, I promise.

Yelp
The fish was fresh and good but IMO the rolls were super Meh. Not a lot of flavor or options. Probably wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Best sushi in Minnesota hands down. Service was experience on its own. Staff was personable to everyone that walked in the door. Atmosphere was vibrant.

Yelp
So so good! Highly recommend for food and service. Jason the owner made something special for me and it was one of the best rolls I've ever had. It's saying a lot because I've lived all over the country and travel extensively. I'm a huge foodie and love that I have this as an option close by. Will be back!

Yelp

Yelp
I liked everything about my experience and the food was exceptional. Didn't have to wait for a table and didn't have to ask for anything because they thought of it all.

Yelp
My first time at Hikari Hand Roll at Eat Street Crossing and it was amazing!!! I had the spicy scallop hand roll and the spicy salmon hand roll and both were very good. But I got to say my favorite is the spicy scallop hands down. The price for the rolls were pretty good for the amount of food you get. Service was also great and they were pretty quick to get my food out. I'm definitely coming here again.

Yelp
Tried Hakari for the first time today and it did not disappoint. The sexy salmon roll and the spicy crab hand roll were both delicious and large. The chef was quick and helpful! Not to mention the beautiful rustic interior with plenty of places for a private meal. Will definitely be back!
