My toddler and I love this place. This is by far the best inside play area for kids in the city outside of the mall. I’m here almost weekly nursing a beer while my kid plays and wears himself out. Also we love drag race bingo! So fun and so much community

Lovely place! I would love to come back here in the evening to join in some of their weekly events. They have tons of games, puzzles, and a great area for kids to play while their parents relax and enjoy beer. Hill City is also dog friendly, both inside and on their covered seating area out front.

Cool neighborhood spot that I had tried to get into once before but they have not opened at the same time stated online. I was there on a weekend mid-afternoon and there were a couple families playing games with their kids a couple with their dog and another family outside. Very low-key and definitely feels like a local's hangout. Very good beers on top and worth a stop.

Great beer list and trivia on Tuesdays make this place a blast. You're welcome to bring in take out from any of the great restaurants close by and the bartenders always make you feel welcome. A positive for some but also a negative for many, they have a kids play area in the back. Not a fan personally but I'm sure many appreciate that.

Awesome local tap house! Good selection, great friendly service, outdoor and indoor seating, and even a play area in the back for kids. They host some local events (eg trivia and craft night) and are a good place to bring a bigger group. Definitely recommend!

Great beer selection, limited food options, patio, and amazing kid zone. Very very nice for thirsty parents.

No more coffee?! Whyyyyy?! The bartender looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about espresso. I guess it hasn't been on the menu since the pandemic. Sad times for this pregnant one. As usual, they have an impressive list of beers and ciders, unlike some places that only offer a single non beer option. They also have root beer on tap, which is adorable and great as they are angling for a family hang out vibe. I love the play area in the back, and I keep meaning to come in for trivia or a game night. Such a gem for the neighborhood!

Stopped in for one beer which turned into 3. Unfortunately didn't get the name of the bartender but she was awesome. They host a cribbage tournament every Wednesday and the bartender easily talked us into coming back next week. Everyone was very friendly and lots of games to play while enjoying a beverage. Would recommend in the area to check it out. Only complaint is it's a little bright. Dial down the lighting 10% and it's s must visit.

Fabulous. Great beer selection. Great bartenders. A cool casual local place to have some great beer. Plus they have fun weekly events like some drag stuff and trivia etc. recommend highly. Great for a nightcap on the way home.

Update.. open at 8 am now for coffee!!!?? They have muffins etc plus espresso drinks. Tired in the morning and want a cool kids play space plus coffee and food? Yes!!! Glad to have another option before other things open.

I really like this place. Great tap list (better than Chuck's in my opinion). Very low key vibe and I love that there is good bbq next door and tasty poke Accross the street that you can bring over. Nice crowd, board games to play if you want to. Sports on the tv. Lots of taps and some tasty stouts.

The selection of beers on tap are great. I just wish food was a bit more accessible. Other than that a really nice chill casual place to hang.

This place is a gem! They have over 20 beers on tap; plus, they also have a good selection of canned and bottled beers for you to buy. If you go with your kids, they have a play area. If you want to play board games while you enjoy a pint, you can do that too. If you want to take your furry friend, it's a dog friendly place! Very friendly staff, awesome beer and a great vibe!

Cool spot to hang out on a rainy day! Super kid and dog friendly. They even allow dogs inside. They have a play area in the back for kiddos. Big screens and tons of beer, ciders, etc on tap. They allow outside food in and even have some menus for ya. Definitely recommend this spot. I'll be by more! It's right in my neighborhood. They also have a patio area for nice days.

The perfect neighborhood spot. It's relaxed, friendly, has indoor and outdoor seating, beer and wine or non-alcohol options, good packaged snacks, and you can bring outside food, your kids, dogs.

This place was great! I didn't know about it until yesterday after Seafair! It was a great place to stop, sit in the AC with the kids, and have a cold beer on tap! I had a flight and a couple other beers! I enjoyed all of them! They have games and a play area for kids and bonus! It's dog friendly too!!

Take your kid into the tap house. Let them go to the play area. And drink an awesome beer that's been served to you by a super friendly, knowledgeable beer-tender (That may not be a word). Order BBQ from Emma's next door (it's fantastic) and they'll bring it over to you. There isn't much more that can be said about this place. A neighborhood godsend. They have a patio.

What more can you ask for than a chill place, great owners, and nice cold beer? Oh, BYOfood! Whaaaaaaat??? I love the food around the neighborhood: Big Chickie, Sam's Poke, etc. And it's great to be able to grab something to go there, and enjoy a wonderful sour ale at Hill City Tap House. A lot of other reviews mentioned kid friendly, but it's also DOG FRIENDLY!! A++. Walk the dog there, have a few beers, and the dog will be walking me home.

I am so very happy that this place sprung up in the neighborhood. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and they make everyone feel welcome. The beer selection should be coveted by the other watering holes nearby. The fact that this place is dog friendly and kid friendly is crucial to the neighborhood-centric atmosphere. They don't serve food, but they have Molly's sandwiches at the ready, Emma's Barbecue next door offers table service, and there are a bunch of great food options within walking distance (Sam Choy's or Big Chickie, etc.) Hill City Taphouse and Bottle Shop is such a funky little jewel. I look forward to more people discovering this place.

This is the most welcoming, warm neighborhood tap house! I have come here often to play cards with friends and it's always a chill and fun place. Kids and pups are welcome, as is outside food so you can bring in your BBQ from next door or even a picnic! Recently hosted my friends baby shower here and the owner was SO awesome and accommodating - they let us claim as many tables as we needed and even provided a big table to set up our potluck. The kids were occupied in the play area and there was even amazing live music and a fundraiser for perinatal services ($1 from every pint was donated!) Everyone had a wonderful time. Bill the bartender does everything and is super friendly and kind. Amazing place!

Our new neighborhood hang out! A smaller and less crowded version of Chuck's Hop Shop in many ways. They have a pretty solid beer selection (about 20 taps or so?), some beer to go, and snacks. The space is simple but well done, with a great play area for the little ones and picnic tables out front if it's a nice day. We also love having Emma's next door for delicious BBQ, or the poke place across the street if we want something a little healthier. We've come here many times with our little one and it is always extremely comfortable, friendly, and not overwhelming. We hope this place sticks around as it is such a perfect spot for a beer with friends or just a "night out" with baby.

Stopped in on a sunny Sunday afternoon while out walking with a friend and his dog. Staff was very friendly & knowledgeable, impressed that they were familiar with the less popular types of beers like witbier and sour mash/gose. Dog treats were brought out to our picnic table and a pic was taken to share on their cooler door to show that he was a local pup! They also offer $1 off pints during NFL games and you can bring outside food into the tap room!

Love this local beer spot! So many beers to choose from and friendly service from the guys behind the counter. I love coming here on a nice evening and hanging out on the patio. Super family friendly too!

Friendly staff, good beer selection. I was a little surprised at the number of children, which outnumbered adults. Gave it two stars because when I go to a bar, I kind of expect to be around adults, and not an overwhelming number of very young kids. It kind of felt like a daycare. Just be aware before you go in. If you have kids and wanna to drink with them, probably a great place for you!

We finally made it hear after hearing so much about it, then we went back a week later. We were not disappointed! The beertender is a really friendly guy, play area is awesome (I could actually talk to my friends because my kids were occupied), dog friendly, BBQ next door is really yummy too. It's a pretty small place, so I'm sure it gets busy at times but both times I went was a Saturday early evening and we got a seat just fine.

The staff is friendly and you would not believe how many families come here to hang out. My daughter has met so many fun kids and I have had the opportunity to mingle with some cool parents. I love it!

A good selection of beers, but the cost of a growler fill is very expensive - almost twice what other local places charge. Good brew, but not that good.

Went to the grand opening today and loved it! Not only is there a great selection of local beers on tap, there are bottles and root beer (for the non-drinkers) also available. The inside is spacious with several 5-person tables for seating plus bonus surprise -- there's a kid play center in the back for those with kiddos. Emma's BBQ is next door and was running food over, Poke to the Max is right across the street, there were lots of food options if people wanted to eat and grab a beer. We sat outdoors in the sunshine and loved seeing people with their dogs enjoying a brew. We can't wait to come back!!

If you want to try local beers and ciders this is the place to go! You can also bring your kids and pups! The staff know you by name if you come in a few times! It's a great place to watch a hawks game too! If you don't have time to drink there, fill a growler for crab a six pack:)

We LOVE having this place right around the corner! I threw my husband a birthday party here and it was perfect because we could bring our baby and our friends could bring their kids and they even let us do a piñata out front. The owner and bartender are super friendly and the beer selection is great. Very chill atmosphere with a kids play area in the back.

Wonderful place to bring little kids to grab a tasty beer. Best for under 4 due to the types of toys. Good selection of beers and more to go. Poke right across the street and BBQ next door to bring in if you want. Have now made it two weeks in a row!

A place with an excellent beer selection with great service that allows (nay ENCOURAGES) dogs and outside food?? Heaven. We visited on a Saturday night and were blown away. It's so fun to be able to take our dog out with us, and everyone was so kind to him. ALSO, there was a child's birthday party happening in the back so we got to hang out with adorable babies, nice parents, and eat free cake!

Great space and good local beer selection. Bring your own food but its a great neighborhood meetup. Plus dog friendly and very kid friendly. (FYI Emmas BBQ will walk food over)

My family (3yo and 18mo) went in last night night and it was great. My beer was delicious, and the snacks were just right. My kids were WILD in and out of the kids place and it felt like no one batted an eye. It's hard to find a place like that.

Great beer selection local and out of state. Friendly and warm hospitality and knowledge staff. They also offer prepared sandwiches and salads. Three tv's playing live sports events and a kids play area!!! Also dog friendly!

Can't say enough about this place. One review I read stated "I don't expect kids when I go to a bar". Yes, I don't either....too bad this place isn't a bar. You'll find kids playing in the back playpen between 5-7. That's about it. My wife n I frequent this place often. It's so awesome to bring in Togo food from other local establishment and enjoy the great beer taps! Employees and prices here are nothing short of great.

Dropped in here very recently to meet up with a buddy and have a beer. Ever since moving to South Seattle from North, I've felt a void from not being super close to a place like Chuck's. I think I just found a good replacement! Eclectic tap list, some beer to-go, and plenty of room to hang out. I do hope they add some more to the to-go section but that will come with time. I see this being a great place for hanging out and playing some games or watching a soccer match since they have a few TVs around.

First visit and we will be back next time with our pup! The bartender was one of the nicest guys we have met in Seattle super friendly and great conversation

Good selection and super kid/dog friendly. The barkeep was charming, helpful, and quick. We are excited to bring our kids back so they can play while we get a chance to talk and drink. They have outdoor seating for summer but I'm REALLY excited to have an indoor play space to bring my kids during the rainy months.

I love this place! Great beer selection on tap. They even had Crux, a personal favorite of mine. Love the vibe. Very casual, easy to drop in. Bartender was really friendly, and they even have an awesome play space in the back for kiddos (which I don't have, but it's a nice thought). Great food next door with BBQ. Loved it!

What a great little place to do a beer tasting!! A wide variety of beers to try.. So child friendly with a special place to play while Mom and Dad can take a few minutes to drink a beer and talk.

Great family and pet friendly beer joint. 24 different beers on draft... mostly WA and OR breweries. A relaxed atmosphere that fits well with the neighborhood... not pretentious at all.
