"Michael Hudman and Andrew Ticer operate several restaurants around Memphis and across the Southeast, but none of them express the duo’s Italian heritage and Southern sensibility better than Hog & Hominy. The food served up by these award-winning chefs—classic Italian dishes made with Southern ingredients and cooked over a wood-burning fire—includes everything from roasted vegetables, meats, and seafood to margherita pizzas and one with pork belly, spicy honey, and snap peas. At the bar, guests can sip creative cocktails featuring top-shelf spirits and house-made syrups and bitters. Should you have to wait for a table at this popular eatery, pass the time at the on-site bocce court with all the other eager diners."

Finally had the chance to try Hog & Hominy, and the food was absolutely delightful. While the small bottled Coke was a bit pricey at $4, the laid-back atmosphere made the experience enjoyable and worth it. The service, however, could use some improvement. Despite that, I look forward to coming back and exploring more of their menu.

Drinks are absolutely the highlight here. It’s a great shareable menu and some great new finds like artichokes and wedge salad was amazing. Pig ears are a must try and all Incan compare them too is buffalo wings marries crispy bacon. The pizza was delicious as well. The crab claws were not my favorite but still had good flavor just not my texture for crab. The Brussels on top were crispy but became soggy as we got down to the middle so would love a bit more consistency there.

Had a wonderful dining experience! The atmosphere was inviting and enjoyable. Drinks and food were flavorful and satisfying, with desserts being especially delicious. Service was friendly and attentive, making the entire evening a pleasant one. Would definitely return!

Loved our dining experience at Hog & Hominy! We dined here for dinner over the weekend and had a great experience. We ordered the John T. burger, the Thunderbird pizza, and the Mikey Likes It pizza. Everything we ordered was flavorful and delicious. We were there on a Friday evening. It was busy, but we still felt well attended to while dining here. Our waiter was very helpful with the menu, and our order came out within a reasonable amount of time. I highly recommend Hog & Hominy!

June 29, 2025. This is my first time visiting Hog and Hominy. I was there for the Sunday brunch and it was fantastic! I loved everything about the place. The food was wonderful. The biscuits were heavy, hearty, and delicious. The service was wonderful. The atmosphere was wonderful. I had a truly terrific time. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Google
Super nice atmosphere. Came with my sister for dinner before she goes back to college, lots of the dishes were shareable and our waitress was super attentive! Parking kinda sucks but glad we got there a little early for street parking.

Google
I had been wanting to try this burger for quite some time. It is the John T Edge Burger and they serve it at lunch. It was fantastic. The burger was hot and fresh and the bun was warm and toasty. The fries were crispy and hot and salty. It's not a cheap cheeseburger but it is very very good. I saw several other customers getting this burger and the other dishes that came out looked and smelled very good as well. I would definitely return here for sure

Google
My travels to Memphis lead me to this Hot spot, H & H is and appears to be a Jumping pizza / bar restaurant. The pizza and salad I tried were very good and sometimes we think that these culinary creations wouldn't be found in some of these destinations I've traveled, but surprisingly, this makes the true treasures we find and leaves a good feeling about our find. My server got lost for a while, and didn't let me know about my drink order until I enquire about it. Granted, this place was busy but this is where a server is to manage their tables and not have 15 minute gaps of disappearing. The set up in the H& H was different, but what ever works for them, this is a busy place and timing for dinner should be known, expect a wait or have a reservation. Overall food is good 👍.

Yelp
I never really leave reviews but our experience was ruined by one thing. The food and waitstaff were great and very friend but we were unfortunately sat next to the valet stand. We've never had a problem at other restaurants when this happened but the valets were loud and making derogatory comments towards the female waitstaff when they were out of earshot. This on top of sitting all night long and almost ignoring customers while continuously using fowl language just ruined our night. I would try to get seated inside or maybe just skip this one all together if you usually use valet.

Yelp
This was my second time brunching at Hog and Hominy, and I loved every minute of it! The cozy ambiance and excellent service set the tone for a great meal. I ordered the Chicken Biscuit, served with scrambled eggs and creamy grits, and of course, I had to add a side of crispy bacon. The biscuit was perfectly buttery and flaky, while the chicken was tender and seasoned to perfection each bite was pure comfort. To top it all off, I treated myself to a latte. The rich, smooth coffee flavor was just what I needed, perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness. It was a warm, comforting complement to the meal, and the barista's attention to detail made it even more enjoyable. From start to finish, I couldn't have asked for a better brunch experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Pros -Me and husband dined here for lunch . The crab claws were amazing! They were so good , we ordered a second round . I ordered the fish , which was fresh, lightly seasoned and a good portion for lunch . My husband ordered a French dip sandwich which was delicious and full of flavor ! Cons -The server was pleasant , although he talked really fast and low so it was hard to understand him at times . The lunch was a bit pricy , and parking was very difficult.

Yelp
Food was mediocre and overpriced. We went for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. Hog and Hominy presents themselves as high-end dining, and the staff act it, with a few exceptions. The hostess was very underdressed, she looked like another customer and while our waitress was very good for the most part, she used her bare hands to pick up crumbs on the table instead of using a cleaning cloth. The furniture is nice, and the interior is very aesthetically pleasing, but they had an eclectic mix of pop and alternative music blasting for our whole meal. For the food: we ordered the oysters, the poutine, the meatballs, a Thunderbird pizza and a Red Eye pizza. The oysters were $5 an oyster, they were the smallest oysters you can get, and they were drenched in chili oil. We recently had oysters more than 3x the size priced the same and had better flavor. The poutine (neither a French nor a southern dish?) tasted only of black pepper. The fries were very good without the gravy though. The meatballs were not very flavorful, had a grainy texture, and we only got 3 exceedingly small meatballs for $16. The sauce was nothing to write home about and very acidic. The thunderbird was the best item we tried, it was tasty, but it was maybe a 10" pie that they charge $23 for! Virtually the same pizza, 2 inches bigger can be found at another popular restaurant for $14. The RedEye was only redeemed by the pork belly. The sauce tasted sour, so we picked the meat off and just ate that. We will not be back, we did appreciate how attentive the waitress was, she frequently checked in on us and was very polite, aside from using her bare hands to pick up crumbs.

Yelp
It's always a great visit at H&H! I've never had a bad experience here. The food is always delightful. The service is constantly fabulous. The atmosphere is inviting and warm with thoughtful decor. Also, their espresso martini is the best I've ever had. You just have to try it.

Yelp
The food, service and all around experience was exceptional. Our server, candace was very knowledgeable on the menu items and went out of their way to accommodate a gluten allergy. Nice and clean environment. We tried a pretty wide range of dishes, it was divine. I can't wait to return and I'm not sure why it took me so long to get back here after the remodel. 10/10 Took the pizza down so fast that no one got pictures. But the gluten free pizza and the regular firebird was incredible

Yelp
Always a go-to when I visit Memphis. Recommend the crab claws and to hold on to the plate to dip your pizza crust into! The red eye was a bit salty for my taste, but their other pizza options have been phenomenal in my past visits, like the quattro formaggi. Parking is limited but they do have valet. Service has always been wonderful, especially the bartenders.
google avatar

Yasenia H.

Yelp
Ambiance was vibrant but not too loud you couldn't hear your company. Service was great, Olivia, our server, made great recommendations. They have gluten free crust for their pizza which was a win for my coworker. The collards were delicious, very fresh and tangy. The lima beans were the bell of the ball. Had I had lima beans like that growing up, I would have not complained. Wedge salad was...wow. yes, a wedge left us both feeling like in itself it was a culinary delight. The pizza was good but darn...those lima beans, YUM! All in all would definitely come back.

Yelp
My husband & I absolutely love coming to Hog & Hominy. He is a big fan of the Red Eye pizza & I have a sweet spot on my heart for the ever so flavorful wedge salad. Best wedge in Memphis, in my opinion. Even better than the dishes we ordered, our wonderful & funny server, Alex, made our brunch date splendid. She was knowledgeable of the brunch options, she suggested I get the espresso martini & I could not have been happier. She was incredibly attentive & never hovered. I will continue to come back in hopes I can be served by Alex once again.

Yelp
I have always heard great things about this place and when me and my friends, we had nothing but good things to say! The service and ambiance was great. The food pleased everyone and the drinks were well done. Definitely a suggestion for a nicer dining experience in East Memphis.

Yelp
We tried the new pancake dish with toffee syrup and Nutella butter 2 weeks ago at brunch with Santa. Kept thinking about how good it was, so we went back today again for it. We were told after the order was placed that the original pancakes with maple syrup is the only option available, but our awesome waitress Payton and the kitchen staff made our day by adding the toffee syrup/crunchies/nutella butter on the side for us! PLEASE keep the toffee syrup pancakes on your menu-it's different from other restaurants and SO delicious!

Yelp
Hog and Hominy hosted a pop up with Kinfolk restaurant. This was so much fun and ridiculously tasty food. This place was very busy and I should have made a reservation since it was popping! My friend and I were able to snag a lounge table and we were so happy. We would have had to wait an hour for a table but we were willing to wait. I love the remodeled Hog and Hominy. The inside is open and totally sophisticated with all the New York like decor. There are many tables inside and some outside adjacent to the inside. They do have heaters to keep it warm for patrons. The parking lot is kind of small but there is street parking and parking by nearby businesses that are not open on Sunday. The hostesses were very pleasant and cordial. Our waiter Jacob was so nice and patient. He was attentive although quite busy. He filled our coffee and water in between serving others around us. Shout out to him for being AWESOME! We started off with a plate of biscuits that were so fluffy and buttery. It came with some jam and chive butter. I could have eaten another plate of those biscuits. My friend ordered the Porchetta. The dish came with focaccia, gremolata, roasted bone vin, hollandaise, and Calabrian chili. It was tasty. I had the Breakfast Bowl. It had sour cream, two fried eggs, old bay seasoning, hash browns and greens with mustard vinaigrette. All the flavors married together were amazing. It was like a party in my mouth. So glad I had the opportunity to dine in yesterday. I will definitely return to H and H and I will wait patiently for Kinfolk to open up downtown. This was one of the best food experiences I have ever had!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of dining at Hog and Harmony in Memphis, Tennessee, and I must say it has become one of my favorite restaurants in town. I have visited this establishment multiple times, once with friends and another time with my sister, and each experience has been nothing short of exceptional. During my first visit, I decided to try the pig ears, and let me tell you, they were absolutely outstanding. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the texture was delightfully crispy. The selection of pizzas at Hog and Harmony is also worth mentioning. I still vividly remember the Thunderbird pizza, topped with pepperoni and a sweet drizzle. The combination of savory and sweet was a culinary masterpiece, leaving me craving for more. Aside from their delectable food, Hog and Harmony offers a diverse menu that caters to different tastes. I also had the pleasure of trying their burger, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. To complement the fantastic food, the cocktails served at this restaurant are top-notch. They have a wide variety of drinks to choose from, and each one I tried was expertly crafted. One aspect that truly sets Hog and Harmony apart is their exceptional customer service. The staff members are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. I appreciate that Hog and Harmony offers outdoor seating as well, providing a pleasant option for those who enjoy dining al fresco. Whether you prefer the outdoor or indoor seating, the ambiance is always inviting and comfortable. In conclusion, Hog and Harmony is a restaurant that I cannot recommend enough. The combination of delicious food, great cocktails, outstanding customer service, and inviting atmosphere make it a standout dining destination in Memphis. I would gladly frequent this restaurant with friends, family, or colleagues, as it never fails to impress. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience, Hog and Harmony is the place to be.

Yelp
Came here for dinner by a recommendation from a local. This place is the best! Ambiance and food and service is all on point. Ordered the honey gem salad (amazing, don't let the kale scare you off!), margherita pizza and the Fungus Ammongus pizza. Both were amazing! The peanut butter pie was fire!! Definitely stop here! :)

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night without a reservation (terrible idea (60-minute wait)). Since everyone was already here, parked via valet, and the baby was ready to sit and eat...we opted for the two tiny wobbly tables up against the wall alongside the giant curtain. The two hosts weren't exactly friendly or helpful. The server that was assigned to us made us feel as if we were a burden and made the whole experience off-putting. She wasn't helpful when ordering, didn't provide waters or utensils. We ordered salads, a few pizzas, and the octopus. To be honest, the menu is expensive for the size and overall lack in taste. Pizza is bland and SO thin. Like eating a chip with pizza sauce. Octopus was edible but incredibly chewy. I'd possibly come in again for drinks and an appetizer but not the best restaurant for a family outing.

Yelp
Hog and Hominy is an absolute gem, would not have expected for their pizza to be made so perfectly. Sometimes it's a hit or miss with wood fired pizza joints, either the crust is over burnt or is too hard. But Hog and Hominy got it down with perfectly cooked pizza and the crust was soft and tasty, as I would expect from wood fired pizza. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The roasted oysters were delicious, though I think it's overpriced for the amount you get. The garlic knots were also good, just a little greasy. Highly recommend the Thunderbird pizza, it was a table favorite.
google avatar

Hayley L.

Yelp
Tried the pig ears for the first time and they are good but spicy!! The caprese is okay just a lot of tomatoes. I love the Thunderbird pizza - it's my go to!

Yelp
This place is one of my favorites! Amazing food and drink, with the staff and service to match, along with an atmosphere that is very inviting and just fantastic. Whether you decide to sit at the bar, outside on the patio, or inside, it is downright difficult to not have an enjoyable experience here. We have been here probably around 5 or 6 times in the past year, and each time here was memorable and pleasant to say the least. You'll be missing out if you don't end up trying one of their pizza options during your visit! One of the best things to write home about is their vast array of delicious choices, in both the food and the drink options. We have sampled something new each visit, and we never left disappointed.
google avatar

Maggie P.

Yelp
Hog and Hominy is always a go to whenever we are in town! We love the atmosphere, drinks and food. Last time we went the cocktail menu was not my favorite but the espresso martini hit the spot for dessert drinks! I would stick with a glass of wine over their seasonal cocktails if you go!

Lisa O.

Yelp
Really good food and service. Staff very friendly. Delicious cocktails and pizza in a lively setting.

Yelp
When I used to travel to Memphis each week for work (4 years ago), Hog & Hominy was a place my colleagues and I often frequented so I felt it was a must-visit place on my most recent trip. The restaurant has completely changed from what it was! The ambiance is great for a dinner date night, drinks with friends - you name it! We were a group of 10+ people and had reservations which worked well as we were seated immediately upon arrival. As we were such a large group, we were seated in the covered patio area where they had heaters and space for larger parties - it worked out well! Once seated, our server explained to the group that it's best to order multiple items and just share so we went ahead and did that. From our family style order of appetizers and pizza, these are the ones I tried: Appetizers: - Sunchoke: I was worried about this one as it said it had H&H chili, but they made it easy to avoid this and it wasn't overly spice. Loved these little crisps! - Crab Claws: A bit messy as they're more of a finger-food, they're definitely worth ordering! The butter and garlic flavors were so prominent and this tasted very decadent. - Frito Miso: I stuck to the squash from the ingredients and paired it with the brown butter hollandaise. Delicious! - Brussels: Very tasty and not overly salty. One thing to note is that there is meat within the dish so not a vegetarian option (as we thought). - Meatballs: Served with three meatballs in a cute little bowl. While they tasted OK, this was one of my least favorite apps and I wouldn't order again. - Poutine: A must order here. Our table loved this one and was gone very quickly! Pizza: - Margherita: A good slice of pizza and very basic. A good vegetarian option if needed! I enjoyed it but wouldn't likely get this one again. - Shrooms: A different style of pizza with a ton of arugula. The flavor was good and I would order this again - highly recommend if you're vegetarian! - Pizza the Hut: This is your typical supreme pizza. The one issue with the one we got was that it was so flimsy and a slice couldn't be picked up to be eaten. We actually had to use a knife to scrape the slice onto the plate to eat. Overall, the food pizza was good but the appetizers were great! Next time, I would try the burger or a different pizza than the ones I tried (none of them WOWed me). Drink wise - they also have a very unique offering of wines and cocktails which make this place even more fun! As for service, there were pros and cons for sure. We were a large party and only had one server to help us so it was a bit slow and things were sometimes missed/ overlooked (waters not refilled, forgotten drink orders, etc). While we did have a few of those mishaps, our waitress did a great job overall. I will also note that I had questions about their wine menu so they had someone come out and explain the different red varietals to me. I really appreciated the focus they gave to me and that they helped me pick a wine to try (I chose the Mencia - Raul Perez "Ultreia St. Jacques"). I wish I had taken more photos because the presentation was very nice, but with such a large group - people quickly dig in! Definitely worth visiting and a place I'll be going back to!

Yelp
The food, service, and space were all wonderful at brunch today!!!! Had not been there since they renovated, and so sorry we waited so long. Spacious dining areas (like a real restaurant :)) and very pleasant waitress who was always smiling. The French toast, bacon, and fruit were perfect and very nice portions. May be the best bacon I have ever had. That plus Mimosa and OJ were around $30 including tax.
google avatar

Blair P.

Yelp
Awesome and different ... in a great way! The wait staff are helpful and share good info. Tho this restaurant was reconstructed, it's still loud where it's not always easy to converse at a 4 person table. Sound panels or something to reduce the noise would be helpful. If it's too loud for you, try the outside and enclosed patio. The food is worth it.
google avatar

Tee F.

Yelp
Hog & Hominy has an elegant and modern atmosphere. The service was excellent from being greeted upon entry to the wait staff. The menu was very diverse from fish dip ( which was yummy) to fried chicken also delicious. They offer a very nice wine list also. The food was prepared perfectly and very flavorful. I did not care for the parking that's my only downside. I intend on trying this restaurant again soon.
google avatar

Maddie B.

Yelp
BEST PIZZA EVER! We are seriously obsessed with this place - great atmosphere & very modern feel. The waiters and hostesses are always welcoming, and we have never had a less than exceptional experience at Hog & Hominy. 11/10 would recommend to anyone!
google avatar

Gavin K.

Yelp
Love the food at Hog & Hominy! Especially enjoy sitting at the bar with drinks and their amazing pizzas and other menu items. Staff is attentive and efficient. Bartenders mix amazing drinks! We love the desert choices. Be sure to check their web site for menus, since they are always changing (don't rely on Yelp menu pics)! I recommend that you use their valets for parking if you find that the on-street parking is hard to find.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dining experience at H&H. This place serves upscaled southern dish that is fused with Italian styled cuisine. We had the pig ears and fried oysters for appetizers, they were delicious and definitely opened up our appetite for the main course. The oysters are very expensive though, $25 for 5 pieces, so I'm not sure if the price justifies the quantity. I got the trout with shrimp bisque. Absolutely killer of a dish. The shrimp bisque had a strong hint of the sea. Great aroma and one of the best sea food dishes I've had in a while. For dessert, we got the peanut butter pie with vanilla ice cream. The ice cream is a little icy and has a refreshing texture to it. If you like peanut butter, then you can't go wrong with the pie either. Parking can be difficult. Their parking lot is pretty small and this restaurant can get busy. Street parking is your best bet, but can also be a bit hard to find during prime dinner time.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this spot so much. Thunderbird & Quatro pizza are chefs kiss! The poutine fries & garlic knots are the best. Service is great every time! Such a cute vibe for different life events with friends.

Yelp
We have been here probably 20 times... mostly before they reopened. The last few visits have been disappointing. The food is extremely salty. We have ordered multiple different things and been overwhelmed by the saltiness. Tonight we dropped by early for the burgers. The fries were great! Not too salty but the burgers were so salty! The previous visit, we had a couple of plates and a pizza. Too salty. I love the idea of this place, the owners are great.. but man they have an oversalting problem that needs to be corrected. Service is great.. atmosphere is good... cocktails and wine list are very creative. Food... bleh. Too salty
google avatar

Vania R.

Yelp
H & H is one my favorite picks for a more special date night, family outing, or brunch. The food is consistently good- and their mocktails are always delicious. My only complaint is that the atmosphere and music is so loud that you feel like you have to scream at your dining partner(s) for them to hear you- especially when sitting at one of the big round tables.
google avatar

Jessica F.

Yelp
Maybe it was on off day for the service and the oysters. Came on a busy day and sat at the bar, took a few minutes to even be acknowledged. It was busy, but half the bar was empty. We started with the roasted oysters, and that was a mistake. The oysters were tiny, especially for $25 for 5 of them. Then we ordered the Thunderbird pizza, and it took a bit to come out, but it was really good. It's probably the only good thing of the entire visit.
google avatar

Bailey P.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by after church for a quick brunch. We ordered the crab cake Benedict (YUM) and the spicy chicken biscuit. I had seen a bad review of the biscuit that almost kept me from ordering, but I'm so glad I ordered anyways! The combo of the grits, eggs, and the amazingly spiced chicken on the biscuit blew my mind. I don't even like eggs and grits that much, but I definitely made a happy plate. Also, ordered my first H&H Bloody Mary, and now I'm HOOKED. By far my favorite Bloody Mary in Memphis. We loooove Hog & Hominy!

Kelly N.

Yelp
Just walked in at 9pm, no reservations. Had the burger, Poutine, and wedge salad. All were really really good. Service was good. Place is unique but loud. They should consider acoustical panels. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
SO LOUD YOU WILL WANT TO KILL YOURSELF First time visiting this new building for Hog and Hominy. The old one burned and they rebuilt at the same address. Had been to the old one once but never returned because it was so loud. Somehow they managed to rebuild even louder (all hard surfaces everywhere) so it is now just a painful endurance contest while you wait for average food with below average service. I am not exaggerating to say that if anyone is anything but directly across from you and leaning forward, you will be yelling. Twice our server even asked for the order to be repeated because she couldn't hear us order. Drinks were ordered and took forever to come. I was even told in advance this might happen because the bar is always so busy. Then came appetizers. First was the Crab Claws. So small there was virtually no crab meat to them. Kind of felt like eating cloves of garlic swimming in oil. Then came Poutine Fries. These were quite good and perfectly prepared. About now our drinks finally came, or at least some of them as a few didn't come until main courses. For our main course my wife and I split the Quattro Formaggi pizza. Crust was overdone and cheese had begun to dry out. In a better restaurant we would have sent it back for a better one, but we didn't have another hour plus to wait for a second on. Waited and waited for checks, then waited for checks to be corrected. What a loud mess this place is.
google avatar

Kierra W.

Yelp
Service- staff was friendly and professional. Our waitress was friendly and got everything correct. Ambiance- a very cute and quaint restaurant. It's not huge but it's laid out to where it doesn't feel too crowded even though tables along the wall are close to each other. Drinks- drinks were yummy. Highly recommend the espresso martini which is not on the regular cocktail menu, but it is on the dessert menu. It's a $16 price tag which I felt was a bit much since it cost the same as my entree. Didn't see the price until after I ordered 2 and they brought out the dessert menu lol. The Brown Derby was really good too. Food- biscuit board was good. Nice and fluffy biscuits- perfect. Ordered as a starter but came out with the main course. The jam and butter were great, the butter with the chives tasted like tartar sauce but I'm sure there's someone out there who likes it. BBQ shrimp was excellent. Great taste, value, and portion size. Comes with grits and the sauce was really good. Steak & eggs leaves much to desire and is responsible for the negative star. At $32 it is the tiniest steak. Spend about $10 more at Stoney River down the street and get one 3x it's size. It was also on the chewy side even though we ordered it medium. I do not recommend ordering this. Go to Kroger and make your own steak and eggs. Other observations- parking sucks just as with all restaurants on this side of Brookhaven. Patio was covered but opens up. There were fans and heaters so it seems it would be perfect in any weather.

Yelp
I'm not really sure how I feel about this. Our server was as nice as she can be. Somehow they messed up our order and had to redo the whole thing. So people that sat after us got their food. I had the pizza the hut and my husband got the burger with upgraded poutine fries. Idk if it's supposed to be like this but my pizza was so saucy that the toppings keep sliding off and the crust was pretty soggy. The poutine fries were super salty. The burger was mediocre. The bun wasn't that great. Maybe we just didn't have a good experience. But I'm not really sure how I feel about this. Oh parking was a nightmare as well.

I didn't have the food only a drink but I had the Old Fashioned and it was okay! They could have put more liquor in it but I wasn't complaining! Overall it was good! I'll be back for some food next time!

Yelp
Great brunch! Even though we messed up our reservation, the hostess was very accommodating and we were still able to brunch! Amongst 5 of us, we shared the brûlée grapefruit and the biscuits starter. The biscuits were amazing with the fresh jam and honey butter. For my meal, I went for the frittata and added mushrooms - drool worthy. A couple of my friends had drinks, mimosa and Bloody Mary, and they would recommend. Overall great experience and delicious food.

Yelp
We walked in at about 5pm on a Monday night. The hostess asked if we had a reservation. The restaurant was completely empty. She said it would be an hour wait or we could sit at the weird low top tables by the bar (we had 2 kids with us). Since the kids were starving, we reluctantly decided to stay and eat there. We ordered our food and it was average. A lot of very weird trendy items on the menu. We didn't understand what most of the ingredients were, but I get that that's their vibe. The waitress was super nice, but didn't come by often. We were annoyed by the fact that we had to sit in the weird tables, when the entire restaurant only filled up about halfway by the time we finished eating. We decided that we wouldn't be back. Not worth the pretentious feeling we got from the staff. It's definitely not our cup of tea.

Yelp
The restaurant is truly a beautiful sight! Loved the atmosphere overall. The service was excellent as well. Everyone we came in contact with truly treated us well. Now for the food, it was not at all worth the hype. It gives off fancy pizza but not really worth it. Totally a great place for a happy hour or drinks with friends but maybe not dinner.

Yelp
10 minutes after the order for my drink was taken I was inexplicably told I could not be served alcohol. 15 minutes after this my waitress finally came back and checked my date's ID and then had to get her manager again. My date ordered a water, and they had to check our IDs several times before finally telling us we are in fact of legal drinking age... still never got my drink. After 45 minutes of waiting our waitress finally checked in on us and I left. It speaks volumes that this is the worst service experience I've had in Memphis. What an embarrassment.

Yelp
Simply one of our favorite spots in the city. Our first date nine years ago was at the old location in the same spot. We were nervous with the burning of that building, that it would result in a different style restaurant. However, that did not happen, it was exactly the same and even better with an updated space and lots of room for diners. Their cocktails are amazing and if you go do not hesitate on getting the espresso martini. I find that this is the best espresso martini in the city!

Yelp
So...we love Andrew Michael but our experience at Hog and Hominy was not that favorable this time. We sat at the bar and most of our complaints did seem to come from the attitude of the bartender. He was pretentious...which was odd since the person I dined with is a world traveler with extensive knowledge of all things food and bar and never flaunts it or makes others feel intimidated. We were hoping the food would steal the show and salvage the evening but all the dishes were off. The octopus was not flavorful, the chicken dish was overcooked and dry, and the pickled vegetables were bland. I know the chefs created the dishes to be delicious...but it wasn't executed on our visit.

Yelp
This place comes highly recommended. From our family, friends and my clients as we just moved here from Hawaii. However, our experience this past Sunday was not good. We were close by and came in without a reservation so we didn't expect to get seated. The hostess was great, very accommodating and we were seated right away. Our server was great as well and I tipped her well. Very nice place with a lot of natural lighting, looks like it would be great for dinner and drinks. My review is about the food. Sister ordered the Red Eye pizza. The crust was very burnt, we had to scrap it off. The egg on top was too raw that the runny egg whites made the pizza soggy. Mom had the shrimp and grits it was very salty because their was so much sauce that it look like a soup. Kids and I had the eggs, bacon and grits, can't go wrong there! I ordered some sides later on for the kiddos but it was taking too long and the kids were getting restless so I had to cancel it. My husband ordered the steak and eggs and when it came out the steak was very small. It was a little smaller than the size of a credit card. I went back to look at other yelped reviews and he got a 1/3 of what they got. Now I'm upset. I should have let him complain but I didn't want to cause a scene.

Yelp
Had a great first experience here last night with the family. It was very busy with holiday hustle but the servers and bartenders worked hard to ensure we had a good meal. Everything was delicious and I really appreciated the unique ingredients in the drinks and food. I didn't feel like it was just a dressed up, over-priced place you could find everywhere but saw the craft in the offerings. My favorite part (surprisingly) was the Brussels, which were incredible and some of the best I've ever had. Definitely think this place is worth a visit if you find yourself in Memphis like me!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Hog & Hominy for a while and last night I finally made it happen. First, they offer complementary valet which was needed since the place was packed. I didn't have a reservation but there were a few openings in the lounge section of the bar so I was seated upon arrival. The Ain't Duckin No Smoke mocktail started me off. It's refreshing with a slightly smoky kick to it - a creation that can actually hold its own next to a cocktail and doesn't just taste like you're drinking juice! It was an excellent choice, so I hope they add a few more options like this. For a light meal I ordered the crab claws with a side of focaccia bread from their Snacks menu, which was delicious! Buttery, garlicky, lemony and plenty of claws for a party of one or as a shared app if ordering an entree as well. I finished with the espresso martini for dessert and that was the only item I wouldn't recommend. It was tasty to be sure, but it comes in a small coupe glass with nearly half of the drink being foam so it wasn't worth the $16 price point. Aesthetically though, it was beautiful. Finally, the service was awesome! My server was pleasant, attentive and gave insight on the menu (I believe her name was Natalie?) and the valet drivers were warm as well. I look forward to returning to check out their entrees next time.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Hog and Hominy. The pizza was fantastic. I got the Quattro Formaggi pizza. The garlic knots were delicious too. Their fries are perfect. It is pricey but worth it. Went with 5 others and we got the biggest round table I've seen in a restaurant so it was kind of hard to talk/listen to my friends. The ambiance was a little loud too. It is a little dressier than causal. Great for a date night too.
