Hoja Santa

I disliked most of the dishes. The Mole had an unusual bitterness to it. I originally thought my food had been burned and even checked. The portions were also small. The music was too loud and I had a lot of trouble hearing my date speak. Service was excellent and attentive. We tried the crickets and it was a unique experience. The white sangria tasted good. I don't think I would come again.

Woah- love the spacious and vibey decor upon entering Hoja Santa!! I was greeted by a smile and lovely service @ the bar. I tried their 2 new special cocktails (both in photos) and I must say- they were very well crafted and taste delicious! This seems like a great spot to come with a group but also enough bar seats to come alone. Much love to all the lovely workers

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Had dinner at Hoja Santa with a group of friends and we had a great time. The food was really good! We tried appetizers, entrees and deserts. We loved all of them. The staff was very friendly and we felt really welcomed. Will definitely come back for dinner very often.

I was initially a bit anxious there wouldn’t be a table available, but there was barely anyone there when I went around 6:30 on a Friday. I really like the vibe and the location, but the seasoning wasn’t doing it for me. I needed some salt and pepper in my guac and a lot of hot sauce in my tacos. I didn’t get alcohol, but got mango agua Fresca which was good. I’ve never had this type of drink before so I was expecting a bit more mango. For Queens, I was expecting good quality for a reasonable price. No, I paid ~$50 with tip & I didn’t even drink alcohol. I’m a bit jaded not going to lie. Maybe other dishes have more flavorful seasoning, but this place isn’t for me.

Walked in on a hot august night and there was no ac on the inside and a bit of a smell when you walk in. The service was amazing the waiter was super attentive and prices were reasonable..two entres, an app and 2 drinks $90 with tip. The shrimp tacos were amazing the enchiladas were so salty I had trouble sleeping. I shouldn't have kept eating all that salt but I was so hungry I just wolfed it down. I think there are better places in Astoria where you can spend $90 and have better food with ac.

Came here on a whim with my wife. Easily became one of my favorite Mexican spots. The food, the service, the atmosphere… everything was excellent that day. Do not hesitate to go in.

It was okay food. The menu wasn’t updated when I went and the food i received was totally different. I got the branzino and it was just weird. Drinks and service were great.

**ON PANDEMIC** part 2 Well guys… I have visited this restaurant so many times already!!! Currently my favorite lunch and dinner spot. They have many really good options fitting all type of diets and don’t be afraid to ask for suggestions, staff is super friendly and attentive. The closest to authentic Mexican food I have ever had!! Please try their tacos, AMAZING!!! Looking to get a few drinks? I have fallen in love with their Margaritas and Mojitos! Trust me, bring family and friends, the vibe set a great mood every time I go with my loved ones. Last but not least, it is my number 1 option and recommendation for a date. They were serving their restaurant week menu on Saturday night when we arrived so we got lucky. Unfortunately the portions were small, but overall the food was good. The enchiladas verdes with chicken was excellent as were the empanadas and shrimp appetizer. The drinks were strong and the service was eager. I don't remember the name of the dessert, but it looked homemade and was a chocolate base with cream and fruit on top. There's a small bar area in the front and a few high tops. If I came back I'd sit there.

I randomly came in here with a friend after the first place we went to didn't have AC ! Walked out & saw this place a couple blocks down. It's a heat wave !! NYC is on fire, and still this place AC wasn't high enough in my opinion. We stayed for a couple of drinks "happy hour" Which wasn't really happy hour prices because my margarita was $11 lol The beer was $5. Absolutely nothing for vegans so I just had guacamole which was good ($12) This place is cute, and service was nice ! Spent $67.00 on 3 margs, 1 Heni, & 2 guacs ... Enjoy

Went for restaurant week. So happy to have found this place. The food was amazing, the service was great and the place has a great overall vibe. Will definitely come again.

Upon arrival, my date had to phone in to make sure they were opened. We arrived around 630p to find a very empty place. We were the only table, you'd figure service and the attentiveness would be rather decent... nope! Our water did not get poured until we sat for 15 mins. We were lucky to get 1 happy hour drink, the waiter never came back over to ask if we wanted another round. Food - my date ordered the steak entree and I ordered the sea bass. Both dishes came out cold. Taste wise, it lacked flavoring.

Overall a great experience and will come back to try their brunch. Outstanding customer service. Great and unique cocktails, tasty food, and classy yet chill ambiance and decor. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and well informed about the dishes. I ordered the tamarind and serrano pepper margarita and it was crisp, zesty with a subtle little kick of spice. The flavors were well balanced. The steak was succulent and well-seasoned--I like my steak medium well. The guacamole was on point and the cranberry seeds added the perfect bursts of sweetness. Great for dates--the restaurant is attractive and the food and experience will definitely come off as an impressive pick without breaking the bank. You can be casual or you can dress up a little.

Extremely disappointing. We called at 6:50, asking if they had any tables- they said they were booked until 9, but we could sit at the bar. We arrived and sat by 7pm. There were multiple open tables the entire time we were there. Upon putting in our order, we were suggested to not put in for the pollo de mole, as it will take "at least" 35 minutes to make, so instead got the mole enchiladas. Mind you-- we did not drink, and just ordered water and ceviche as an appetizer. About 30 minutes pass, and I start getting antsy asking where the ceviche is..."I'll check on it" multiple times...but no actual update. Then we're offered to sit at a regular table, we accept. Another couple at the bar got seated where we were about to sit instead. The host, looking flabbergasted at the server offers to move us to a "reservation" table. Nice enough...so we move. Still no ceviche. It's been 45 minutes, so we're sitting waiting for fish cooked with lime juice. Ok, it's restaurant week, but tables around us were open, and food was not coming out. I was getting worried... 50 minutes pass, I'm repeatedly asking about the ceviche. Finally they come out with some average chips and "dip" to make us feel better...Mind you- the server giving us the chips and dip looked confused AF. He was walking around looking and offered it (as if we ordered it) and I said - no thanks we got ceviche- 5 mins later came back and says it's "on the house"....I'm getting concerned as the ceviche is literally the appetizer, and if I eat so late (main course enchiladas) I'm going to get heart burn. Over an hour passes. It's now 8:10pm. I tell my husband- "ok I'm gonna go to the bathroom. If there's no food when we return, let's leave a few dollars and get out of here. It's late. I'm hungry. This is ridiculous." How many freaking times do you need to "check" on ceviche? Be honest with what is happening here! I come back. It's been over an hour 15 minutes. I grab my jacket and tell the host I'm sorry cancel our order. She understood, and we left. We went next door and ate a burger at Comfortland. It was comforting and quick and easy. Afterwards we checked to see how it was going through the windows-- still the same people sitting there, disgruntled, without food. Look, maybe it was a bad night. But you need to tell your customers. I wasn't really into wasting over an hour of my time, to be frustrated and wait for food that was just never coming out. Literally, by the end we figured that they were just lying, and actually had no food to offer. Only iced up overpriced (we saw bartender make them) drinks and dip. Please work on management. Sorry to the host, she tried. Will not return!

Paid over $20 and waited over an hour for some meh eggs on soggy tortilla chips. Didn't seem like the waitstaff's fault at all. They clearly did their best. Whoever is managing this place needs more people working. Seems to me like a place with a lot of potential but is just being managed poorly.

Came here on a Friday around happy hour time and though it was empty I enjoyed my time as the music and space was really nice! To start I had the traditional guac and the hibiscus marg both were very good! I am not usually big on margs because they are typically very sweet but the hibiscus marg was surprisingly balanced so I went for a second but this time tried the maracuya which was also very tasty! The guac was your average guac and not very noteworthy but still delicious. For my entree I had the enchiladas de mole poblano, the mole was really good but the only vegetarian offering was cheese. While delicious it would have been nice to have the option of veggies as is the case with some of the other dishes, that side the mole was smokey and chocolatey so I would highly recommend. On the side we had the elote callejero, these did not pack as much flavor as the guac and the mole so I would not recommend. I would definitely give this place another shot, perhaps at a more high traffic time, or order via uber eats!

Sorry to break away from the pack with a 3 star review, but I have been to tons of Mexican restaurants in the US and Mexico and didn't really feel this was either authentic or elevated cuisine. In terms of positives, the presentations are really modern and photographable and the servers are nice, friendly and attentive . The negatives: - inconsistent cocktail mix; heavy on ice. Several people in our party ordered the same cocktail and each one or each follow-up order had a different flavor profile. - appetizers were overcooked and lacked flavor - shrimp was undercooked and under seasoned - chipotle sauce was bland - two desserts listed on their restaurant week menu were not available, substitutes were subpar. Chocolate tres leche desert was bitter and off putting - service was super slow. One hour wait between appetizer and main course

So this place is relatively new. It's somewhat small but very nicely decorated inside. Service is wonderful. My friend and I ordered two main dishes: pastel Azteca, and enchilada verde. Drinks: lemonade, and red sangria. Appetizers: guacamole Everything was delicious! The sangria was amazing. I took one star off because the majority of dishes were spicy. I don't like spicy food. My enchilada verde, for example was spicy and I needed a lot of water to be able to finish it. However, I will say, the enchilada was delicious. The pastel azteca, on the other hand, was not spicy and it was so good. I would come back. My only suggestion to the restaurant owner is to offer more non-spicy dishes. For dessert we ordered chocolate tres leches ca, and churros with chocolate. Also, delicious.

Went to Hoja Santa again last month, and it didn't disappoint! I was glad to have had the opportunity to try it again after such a long time. The restaurant looks the same - medium sized, with a small amount of functional outdoor seating. The last time I went, they didn't have a liquor license -- now they do. This time, I tried the following dishes: Guacamole (4/5): Nice and fresh guac, with pomegranate seeds. The tortilla chips were on the thicker side for my tastes, but there was nothing deficient about this guac. Ceviche de Mariscos (4.5/5): A really nice ceviche, with line and passion fruit juice as a base. The seafood was fresh, and the avocado was nice as well. Pollo con Mole (4.5/5): The mole was very good, the chicken was tender, and the rice was tasty. No major complaints about this dish. Enchiladas Verdes (5/5): Very tasty enchiladas with cheese, tomatillo sauce, and ample cream. A large, buttery portion of rice comes on the side. This dish is super rich and cheesy, but definitely hits the spot if you're in the mood. I was happy to get to go to Hoja Santa again -- it was a great experience, and I would definitely return.

An amazing dinner! The night we went the restaurant was completely empty. Hearing great things, we went against our usual inclination to walk away from an empty place. We are so glad we did! The staff was excellent and everything we tried was so well prepared and seasoned that we are looking forward to going back and trying the items we were"stuck" on before deciding on our eventual selections. Shrimp tacos: my husband loved these and the garnishes to compliment the juicy shrimp. Chicken with platano puree. I loved the contrast of salty and sweet. Prepared wonderfully and to order at the spice level requested. Red Snapper: fried perfectly and the tamarind sauce was incredible. I had this with a side of rice and creamy black beans, which complimented the dish as well. Chocolate Tres Leches: the only thing we ordered that we would not get again or recommend. It was very dry and the cake was not flavorful. I only add this point because the other food was so great this did not live up to the standard set. I hope the restaurant completely removes this from the menu. The other choices looked incredible and don't think this will be missed. The cocktails looked great but we did not drink this night. We instead had jamaica, tamarind and passion fruit aguas frescas that left us wanting for nothing more. I hope to never see this place empty again

Had been trying to go to this place for a while as it's not far from my house and I love a good Mexican spot. I did notice this place is usually empty, but I thought to give it a shot anyway. We went here for a birthday dinner and started with some guacamole, it was subpar, not very flavorful, and truthfully very small portions. We ordered drinks, I ordered red sangria and it was not good, and overpriced. The entrees were okay, also small portioned and nothing special. We finished our food and went elsewhere. I expected more. Disappointed to say the least.

Duck tacos and mojitos are great. Great atmosphere and service - always a good experience at this spot.

Definitely my favorite restaurant for Mexican food. Traditional, with a touch of modern flavors. This restaurant is connected with it's roots and values of warmth, family, community, fun, and exceptional taste. The service has always been so welcoming and kind. From the owner, the waiters, and bartenders. I have tried many dishes and I keep coming back. The taste is truly one of a kind, not too little.. not too much. Simply perfect. Please support this business and give it a visit -- you absolutely won't regret it.

We tried out Hoja Santa as part of our Restaurant week tour. Happy hr was great, the drinks were decent. It was great food.

Came here for a girls night and everything was amazing! We started with the classic and mango margaritas, which were a bit on the sour side but our waitress was super accommodating and helped adjust the drinks for us. I've never had scallops before but it's description on the menu sounded so good I went for it and definitely do not regret my decision. The chipotle sauce paired perfectly with the squid ink rice. It only comes with 4 scallops but it was filling enough after we had the chips and guac as a starter. My friends got the shrimp and sea bass and both of them can vouch for how delicious they were. I will definitely be returning to taste more items on their menu.

**Delivery Review** Friday night, placed an order through UberEats from this restaurant. Mostly standard Mexican options, albeit on the expensive side. Settled on the Elote Callaejero ($8), Tacos de Carne Asada ($14), and Traditional Guacamole ($12). Food arrived within the appropriate timeframe, tightly packed in containers. Tacos are three to an order, filled with diced meat, veggies, and guacamole. Filling is solid and we'll cooked but the tortillas were stale. This is a common problem with delivery and this place is no different. Guacamole is chunky, served with tortilla chips - really needed salt or a spicy kick to elevate the flavor. Luckily had some hot sauce at home to add to the dish. Finally was the Elote, which was way too sweet, again really needed more chili rather than butter/cheese. Overall disappointed in the meal. Would have to re-rate if able to try this spot in person.

First time coming here last night and it definitely won't be my last. 5 star worth when the food and service are perfect. The pomegranate seeds was the icing on the guacamole. Between the chicken and carnitas tacos ... I can't even tell you which was better. But if you like tacos with a kick to it, definitely get the chicken. You don't need more than one 16 oz drink to feel "happy." Will definitely be back SOON!

Came for brunch. Very very inefficient service. Took 10 minutes to take our order even though we were one of two groups in the restaurant (3 people). The food took over 30 minutes to come out. All of the eggs were over cooked to the extent that my poached eggs had fully cooked egg yolks. The hotcakes we ordered had split whipped cream, and the chips were stale. Won't be coming back

Recently stopped by Hoja Santa for the first time on Friday night. I've been wanting to try this fairly new establishment after reading all the positive reviews from my fellow Yelper's! We started out with one of their appetizer specials (can't recall the name but our server highly recommended it ... I know, not very helpful :/) with tacos de pescado for the entree paired with frozen margaritas. Our server later informed us that the app special was no longer available so we opted for the shrimp ceviche. Everything was so delicious, and they were definitely generous with the portion of fish on the tacos. Our server was so attentive despite the busy evening at the restaurant and was absolutely lovely, very sweet Brazilian lady. I wish I could remember her name but I will definitely return and update my review! Thanks for a positive experience and see you soon!

Just had a great dinner here. We ordered the ceviche mixto, elote, robalo costeno (seabass) and the carne tampiquena- all were incredible with the ceviche and tampiquena being our favorites. The margaritas and agua frescos are also great. Service was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.

Had been here once before late 2022 with friends and had pretty quality food but returning here for Mother's Day was not the same experience. Food was poor and plain. We ordered the lobster enchiladas and the cheese enchiladas. The lobster ones were only two in count and so little for the price, also not tasty. The cheese one was served with chicken despite mentioning no meat please. This was corrected but the corrected one had blocks of cheese, it was unappetizing. Our wait staff were very uncoordinated but I do think it's because he was new, very nice dude but just added to poor experience of food. I think it is new management but I don't see myself returning here for a while...

As I walked into this restaurant at the corner of the block, I immediately appreciated the spacious and beautiful decor with the cozy environment. The interior was very modern with a slightly traditional touch. The food presentation was spectacular as was each meal. The entrees definitely contained flavors and textures that were very unique to their cuisine. The menu was elaborate with many different choices to satisfy your taste buds. Ambiance- 10/10 Service - 10/10 Parking - Service WiFi - Yes

Went to impromptu weeknight dinner at Hoja Santa and I'm so glad we did They made me a delicious mango mojito first of all. We ordered the crabmeat guacamole, trio de ceviches, and elote callejero (grilled corn with cotija cheese), and the duck tacos The guacamole was excellent and came with a generous serving of guac and crab. The presentation was very nice too. The Elote was so so good and had a nice covering of cheese and a sprinkle of spice/chile that was perfect! The ceviches were nice but I wasn't crazy about all of them so next time I'd only order one, but it was a great way to find out what I liked! I would opt for the ceviche camaron, tho I also liked the tropical flavour of the ceviche de mariscos The duck tacos tho oh man. So so good, rich with duck and a spicy kick with avocado/ radish to balance. I'd come back just for this honestly. I was so full after everything even tho I really wanted to try other things on the menu I'll be back to keep exploring the menu!

Waiters were amazing and very attentive. The ambiance is was cozy and the music was not overpowering as I was able to have a conversation with my guests without having to raise my voice. A " special " Margarita was prepared for me and it consisted of a smoky, spicy cucumber Margarita.. It was so delicious and I still had the taste in my mouth hours after having it. I will certainly dream of it. The fish tacos were out of this world with a combination of sweet and salty flavors just enough to leave you wanting more. I truly enjoyed this experience. I should have taken pictures but I wanted to be in the moment and besides the memory of this place will be indelible in my mind.

I had the pleasure of eating here before the city went on quarantine. Not my first time here but my first, well deserved, review. This place is good, and I mean really good. This spot is a modern take on Mexican cuisine that focuses in traditional flavors, but much more refined than your typical taco truck. I've had many amazing things here but I'd like to discuss the "must try" items. The duck tacos are one to remember. Generous portions of meat and filled with veggies, with a killer housemade salsa that is bound to knock your socks off (literally!) It's addicting and I'm sure you will feel the same. The shrimp tacos are also A1, and if you're up for an adventure try the octopus tacos. The horchata...I don't know what they're doing but last time I went I had 5 or 6 glasses. It's liquid crack. Each time I've visited, I've had multiple glasses of it and trust me when I say it slaps! And if you're down for dessert, the chocolate tres leche is a must for a chocolate lover. It's richness and moistness is a great way to end your meal. Not to be too long winded, you have to give this local business some love. They're doing Mexican cuisine well. I will say it can be steep on price, compared to tacos are spots around the city. Though unlike the overrated and pretentious restaurants in the city, you actually get what you pay for. And how could I forget! the guacamole with crab is a must! I don't care if it's $10, $20, or more, that is also addictive. I could eat that crab until I explode. Overall, show this place some love during these hard times and even after. You'd be surprised of the amazing things you can find in your own backyard.

Holy crab guacamole and chicken mole, I loved my meal here. The margaritas hit the spot and at $8 a piece don't break the bank and definitely allow you to get seconds and try their wide variety of flavors (I went for the spicy mango). The crab guacamole was amazing - I would come back just for that but then the entrees came and the chicken mole was perfection. This place should be as packed as Ruta Oaxaca - Highly recommend

I was excited to try their fish tacos but found them disappointing as it consisted mostly of fried batter and barely any fish. Steak tacos were okay, seasoned well but over cooked. Guacamole was good and different with some pomegranate in it. They had a great deal for 32oz margaritas for $15, unfortunately it tasted like a virgin margarita as there was no taste of alcohol in it. Limited outdoor dining was available along the side and front of the restaurant and the service was great.

To start, this restaurant has a great ambience, nice decor, and attentive service. I got La Flor as a cocktail, cheese enchiladas, and the hoja santa flan - all great! The cheese enchiladas had a particular cheese from Mexico - can't remember the exact name but it was delicious. The flan was flavored with hoja santa the herb (not named that way because of the restaurant name itself) - I absolutely loved this! It's a hard to describe flavor, but I would say it's closest to matcha in a way. My cocktail had a nice blend of flavors - slightly smoky flavor to start, but balanced out well with the other flavors (Jamaica, cinnamon, lime).

Must dine-in! This is a fantastic elevated Mexican restaurant. The menu has so much variety so there are plates for everyone. The staff and owner are really great at explaining the dishes and having honest recommendations for you. The ceviche trio is a must. It's so great to be able to try them all. My mouth is watering from thinking about these. The pozole was so great as well. That's why I'll be back for the most. I have been looking for a soup like this being from California and they have such a different delicious take on the dish I fell in love! I'm so holy that this place is across the street from me. Go support delicious local businesses!! This place is on the higher side, take a date. Don't be cheap. They are still in process for getting their liquor license but you can NOT BYOB. Anyway.. you don't need alcohol.. take a drink before like i did and then go eat some delicious elevated Mexican food!

Fantastic service, great vibe, superb food! Elevated Mexican cuisine. A feast for both the mouth and eyes. The sea bass is a must! The fish was well cooked, soft yet crispy on the skin. The bean puree and mole were perfect compliment to the dish. The octopus, so tender yet the char was so prominent. And to put the cherry on top, literally, the tres leche was so light and refreshing yet satisfied all our sweet tooth needs. We don't drink but the cocktails they were serving all looks amazing.

Went for the first time today! Live right down block. Excellent drinks / excellent food. Their sauces are unique and delicious. The crab meat guacamole was mouth watering!! Def would come again. Not the cheapest but worth it for a nice meal out.

I don't really leave reviews but I don't want anyone to go in to this restaurant not knowing what to expect. To be fairly honest and transparent I do not and will not recommend this place for nothing more than the drinks.... The food was very mid. All the food options on the menu are not filling. There's not alot of options to chose from either. The skirt steak platter was 32$ and when we received our food it consisted of rice, beans that tasted very weird it had something inside we weren't sure of, guac (JUST TO CLARIFY THE RICE, BEANS AND GUAC WERE ALL about a TEASPOON SIZE PORTION) and a decent size skirt steak... The best thing on that plate was the skirt steak and guac. The drinks was definitely a 10/10. The waiter was kind of forceful when placing orders. Two of my friends kept expressing they didn't want guacamole and he kept saying it tasted better with it. Not once did he ask if there was a reason like maybe an allergy or if they just didn't want the guac. It came off as he was just trying to sell the food. My friends ordered the salmon appetizer and not once did he inform them that it was going to be raw salmon. We saw it was raw when the order came out. The waiter never asked if we had allergies like most restaurants, also never helped with explaining exactly what we will be receiving. He also wasn't very accommodating either. The restaurant was completely empty when we walked in. The pros were that we were seated immediately, and helped. Our bill came out to 317$ which was definitely not worth that price at all since we didn't enjoy the food. Our plates were never empty except For the empanadas (which were pretty good), but only comes in two and are also very small (17$). We regret going here we just paid, and left. I feel as though they can do better with serving size. Their prices are high and the food portion is enough for a 2 year old. I also think they can improve more on flavor.... Otherwise the service was not bad..... again I will only recommend for drinks not food. We highly regret going for food especially with the amount we were given. We didn't even leave full, we ended up going somewhere else two doors down for finger food..

A restaurant week discovery---a compelling menu --not the usual salmon and chicken disguised for a Latin American twist--instead a choice of 3 appetizers, including "traditional" guacamole prepared and presented in an untraditional and delicious way--more a deconstructed and reimagined guac with strips of chips--a mushroom empanada, beautiful on the plate and savory to eat--and then the mains, enchiladas in a tomatillo salsa, presented as a work of art dressed in ribbons of sour cream and the waiter said it was his favorite dish--we understood why--and then the chocoflan for dessert--not your grandmother's flan--I missed the drinks--stuck to diet coke but the sangria sounded amazing--saving it for the next time--The restaurant was disappointingly empty--it was a rainy night---with this preparation and presentation and reasonable prices--it should be mobbed with foodies looking for sophisticated menus with subtle seasoning--the empanadas were spicy but not thoughtless--not mouth burning aftertaste to spoil the meal. Astoria and LIC have lots of Mexican restaurants that specialize in "home cooking" There's even a Michelin-stared one touted for combining French influences with traditional Mexican that looked and tasted to us like the usual Mexican fare--Hoja Santa shows off what Mexican and Latin American food can be in the hands of a deft chef who understands what elevates an ordinary meal out in the hood to a dining experience and makes this a true destination restaurant--

I've tried several dishes from this menu and they are always knockout! Flavors are inventive, clean, and bright, but also familiar and comforting.

I've been to Hoja Santa twice and the food and drinks are tasty. The duck tacos and black bean soup are delicious! I recently went on Cinco De Mayo and while they were short staffed and there was a bit of a delay in getting food/drinks , the bartenders/servers were so polite, patient, apologetic and thoughtful the entire night. Great customer service, great food.

Great food, but even greater service! Every single person that served my table (4 different people) were extremely kind and thoughtful. Food was great and even if it weren't, the staff left you with such a good taste of service and treatment. At the end we were even given free shots on the house! 10/10

Came here with two others and we ordered some really amazing dishes! This place elevates authentic Mexican food and brings back a lot of familiar flavors. My favorites were: - Crab Guacamole: Guac is so fresh and the crab is so good. - Carne Asada Tacos - Pollo Con Mole - Camarones al Chipotle: Comes with amazing codfish potato croquettes and the Chipotle Mezcal sauce is delicious - Carne Asada Tampiquena For dessert, definitely get the Pastel de Tres Leches y Chocolate!

BRUHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Eat here ! Seriously. Eat here. Thought the reviews were too good to be true so we came to see for ourselves and it did not disappoint !!! Everything was perfect! And I can't eat cilantro and they were so accommodating and it was so great. Will be back. Can not wait for brunch!

Came here with a couple of friends with the intentions of participating in restaurant week, but we were a week too early. That didn't matter because the pricing at this restaurant is extremely reasonable, and the food is DELICIOUS. we ordered the crab guacamole to share, and I ordered the CAMARONES AL AJILLO (picture attached). The flavors were amazing and I will definitely be returning when I'm in Astoria again!!

Had the pleasure of trying this new Mexican restaurant in Astoria and had a wonderful experience. The ambience and the service is top notch! They have a very extensive menu with plenty of seafood, veg, and meat options to satisfy everybody's tastebuds. Me and my friends got the tuna guac, arugula salad, and the sword fish dip. All these apps were phenomenal and I would recommend each one of them honestly. For the main I got the Hoja Santa Fish which was a halibut fish topped with the Hoja Santa sauce. My friend got the lamb chops and loved them. Finally for dessert we got the sweet corn cake and tres leches. Loved both of them but me being a chocoholic, tres leches was my favorite. For those who are not big fan of chocolate or want a light dessert, go with the sweet corn cake. All in all a great experience and would highly recommend if you feeling Mexican cuisine or a fancy dinner outside!

This food is expensive for delivery in the area but what they deliver is amazing balanced flavors. The three times I have ordered here the food was clearly cooked and packaged with care. This was great elevated comfort food. i have ordered delivery several times and can highly recommend the Choc Tres Leches,Enchiladas Verde, Fish Tacos, Rajas Con Crema, and whitefish dip. The enchiladas verde in particular is just as good as the one at Casa Enrique.

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in queens just from walking in the open space of the environment is absolutely beautiful white chairs, wooden tables. As they don't have their liquor license yet we were given complimentary drinks such as Tamarindo or Hibiscus, we were also given the sword fish dip to try on the house. I went with my family for fathers day and my mom absolutely loved the steak! I got the fish tacos I recommend if you like coleslaw. For dessert we got the tres leches cake which was super moist it was chocolate so it was even more delicious. Would definitely go back!

Very disappointing! I was in this place yesterday and was definitely surprised to discover about "cuisine" bcs they're have a good reviews. Mix seafood ceviche was taste like a fruit cocktail with a little bit of diced red onion. Skirt stake had a strange taste in slappy presentation of refined beans and something else! Chipotle shrimp was ok but was served with NOT fully defrosted fish balls " from freezer to microwave " I believe. We also were served overpriced sangria type of red wine small glass $10 ! I end up not eating anything there besides seafood in that ceviche and a few tortilla chips. Service was ok only in a beginning untill place start getting busy .

Excellent ambiance, great drinks and the octopus tacos were perfectly cooked and seasoned.
