Hoja Taqueria is a cozy Downtown gem dishing out delectable tacos, burritos, and crispy flautas, all paired perfectly with smoky margaritas.
"Shrimp & Potato Flautas If you are seeking out great Mexican food in Downtown, go to Hoja Taqueria. The little spot pumps out some really good tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and a fantastic tres leches cake. But the star of their menu really are the crispy shrimp and potato flautas. I’ve had them in takeout form before, but I sat down to eat at the small restaurant for the first time this week. Now I can confirm that the flautas taste even better when paired with one of Hoja’s excellent smoky pineapple margaritas." - Ryan Pfeffer, Carlos C Olaechea
"Hoja Taqueria is a small, casual taco spot in Downtown serving some very good tacos, burritos, and flautas. Options include a classic carne asada with beautifully charred beef, and a heritage pork al pastor. They also have some vegetarian-friendly ones, which happen to be our favorite. There’s a vegan koji sweet potato taco topped with peanut and almond sauce that’s sweet and savory. All of them are served on fresh tortillas that are tender but won’t rip in half on you. They have some simple but delicious burritos too, which aren’t too overstuffed or obnoxiously big. The shrimp and potato flautas are also crispy and delicious. The margaritas and tres leches cake should be part of your order too. photo credit: Rami Sabban" - Ryan Pfeffer
