The warehouse space should have plenty of room inside, and there are some big tables in the backyard where everyone can get embarrassingly messy over very good smoked meats. Just like the original location, Durney has built this warehouse-chic space amidst a sea of industry in the Miami Produce Center, where trucks and moving pallets roam the streets. The sheer scale of the space—open kitchen on one side, a long bar on the other, tables in between and a patio just beyond—is something to behold.A hulking beef rib crusted with salt and black pepper, as well as melting, charred slices of brisket are essential orders that have few equals outside of Texas. They’re truly good enough to commit to a lifelong monogamous poultry relationship. Each wing has a dusting of mole spices that intensifies this already perfectly smoked wing’s flavor. "Hometown Barbecue serves all the things we expect from a stellar pit-smoked barbecue spot. Their ribs, brisket, mole-dusted wings, and smoked turkey BLT all make us want to go immediately chop down a tree so Hometown’s smoker never runs out of wood. But this huge warehouse also offers lots of great things we don’t necessarily expect at a barbecue joint, like good cocktails, a yucca bowl drizzled with avocado mayo, and charred broccoli with poblano crema.
